Moe: Let's get this show on the road! I uploaded two chapters yesterday, but today im only doing one… probably. Enough reviews may change my mind (Not trying to be greedy, I just wanna hear my readers).
So anyways, I only have a month to push this story as far as I can, HOWEVER, that might necessarily be true. And in that case, I am not going to cheap out on yall. Instead! I am going to make sure to finish PART ONE of this story. When I get back home, I will continue on with a PART TWO, which im not going to make an entirely different story for, ill just add it onto here when im ready. So in conclusion, the end is not near! Hopefully that is a good thing? Lols. And if I get 3 reviews before posting my next chapter, I will post a hint about what (or who) can be expect in PART TWO
Anyways, I do not own inuyasha: what. So. Ever :)

(THE MORNING AFTER)
I could tell by the bright light peeking through my eye lids that I had slept a great deal later than I usually do. Most likely even past breakfast. Which my stomach then decided to acknowledge that this was absolutely true.
"Are you hungry, Mate?" I felt the deep rumble of the voice from under both my head and most of my body.
I quickly say up, eyes shooting open. Next to where I had just been laying was Shesshomaru. He laid with his arms behind his head and his eyes watching me. He looked amused.
"Why are you still here?" I looked out the window than back to him. "It must be nearly noon."
He sat up on his elbows, chuckling ever so quietly I barely caught it.
"Actually, Mate," He mused, catching a strand of my hair in between his claws and then pulling back to let it slip out. "It's nearly 3 in the afternoon."
I gasped. How could I have slept so late! This was not like me at all…. And most importantly…
"Have you been just laying here with me the whole time?" I gawked.
He simply nodded.
"But… Why?" I tilted my head to the side.
"I already told you, last night." He continued when he saw the look of confusion on my face. "You are the only one to see me at my weakest moment, and it seems to me, that your weakest moment is when you sleep after mating."
"I guess so." I shrugged. "But that doesn't really explain why you stayed."
"It is my job to protect my mate at her weakest moment." He answered, seemingly annoyed.
"So it's my job to protect you in your weakest moment?" I expected it to be rhetorical, but his answer was actually not what I expected.
"You are never to protect me." He growled.
"What?! And why not?" I huffed angrily. "You're my mate, aren't you?"
"I am." He seemed pleased.
"Then why is it not my job to protect you?"
"As your alpha and the stronger of us, if I cannot protect you, even in my weakest moment, than I have failed you as a mate. If you are ever to find yourself needing to protect me," His hand found its way to my jaw, guiding my face inches from his. His eyes were dead serious. "Whatever the reason. Then I have failed you and the only job you have to do in that situation is kill me."
I gasped, pulling away from him.
"Do you understand me, Suri?" He rose from the bed.
"No." I cried under my breath.
Shesshomaru stopped collecting his clothes and turned to face me.
"What?" He growled.
"I said no!" I screamed, jumping up and standing inches from his face.
His eyes turned red at my defiance. And in that moment, something inside my body started to burn. It began in my neck and poured through the rest of me. I wanted to cry out. And oddly enough, I also wanted to back down from Shesshomaru, lay my ears down against my head, tuck my tail in, and bare my neck.
But the rage and horror I felt at his demand was a lot stronger.
"I will never ever do something so horribly to you. I will protect you regardless of what you say!" I growled. "You're my mate. I will not listen to you!"
Shesshomaru's hand didn't hesitate to find its way to my hair, thrusting my head back.
"Obviously, I wasn't being clear." His growl was loud and angry.
My neck stung with his fang injecting themselves into it. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of crying, but my internal demon had another agenda. I whimpered, doing everything to physically show myself submitting to him.
When his mouth left my neck, he pushed me from him. I landed on the bed, rolling into a ball. Just trying to make myself small.
"I am your alpha. I am your mate." His words sounded like venom of disgust at me. "You listen to me, or else."
And with that, he left. Slamming the door behind him and leaving me alone.
So I cried. Not ever feeling so low in my life. My body didn't even belong to me anymore. I though mating would be a happy thing. Make Shesshomaru finally open up and love me. Like I had thought I loved him. Now… I wasn't so sure. Maybe it was my body, once again, betraying me with feelings I didn't really have… or want.
(LATER THAT NIGHT)
I didn't go down for anything to eat. Not even at dinner. And the staff didn't bother to bring me anything up, or even come to check if I would be attending dinner. That didn't surprise me. I knew they still didn't like me. I didn't know WHY, but the fact that I could have any of them killed without any reason was a pretty pleasing thought.
Especially since I was not at all in a good mood. My self-pity had now mutated into frustration, and that frustration turned into rage when a sudden feeling hit me.
My body was basically begging for Shesshomaru. Which pissed me off more than the argument itself. Trying to fight it was nearly impossible. I had to physically restrain myself multiple times from leaving the room to go find him.
I had even gone as far as clawing through my leg, hoping the pain would distract me. But I healed almost instantly and that meant it only stung for a few seconds before the pain was completely gone.
'Maybe I just need some air.' I finally thought.
So I went to the balcony, throwing open the windows and stepping out into the night air. Originally I planned to jump down into the garden, but a dark figure pacing under the window stopped me.
"Excuse me," I called down. The armored man looked up at me. "What are you doing?"
"Good evening, My Lady." He bowed slightly. "The Lord has commanded that I do my watch from here tonight."
"Oh, did he?" I growled, jumping down and landing next to him. I got inches from his face. "Now tell me, why would he do a thing like that?"
I could tell my anger was properly radiating from my eyes because he actually looked as if he was struggling to not run away.
"Uh… I… Uh… Wouldn't know?" He looked away, swallowing nervously.
"Let me fill you in on something." I purred, feeling oddly powerful and slightly sexy. I stepped back from him, starting to pace a circle around him. "I am much like my mate, you see. In the sense that I too have no problem killing someone over something as simple as…. Say… a white lie?"
I didn't get to be Lady of North by being nice. And now I wasn't going to be the Lady here in the West by acting any differently.
"Suri." A deep growl called from the dark.
I sighed and the guard bowed.
"My Lord." He bowed again, his voice unsteady. "I have done what you asked. The Lady has not left my sight!"
Shesshomaru stepped into the light that illuminated from our bedroom onto the garden ground. He looked deadly, more so than usual. If it had been anyone else watching him, they would've missed the inner battle he seemed to be suffering, which only revealed itself through his eyes.
"My exact command is that she," His eyes only momentarily shifted to me, but they did not meet mine. "Was not to leave her room."
"But my Lor-"With a quick flick of his wrist, Shesshomaru released a green whip which sliced itself through the guard.
I didn't flinch, even when his blood splattered over me in a waterfall of grossness.
"Room. Now." Shesshomaru turned his back, heading back into the darkness. "I will have another guard here to watch you. And this time, he will not fail."
"No."
He stopped.
"Now." He growled. I could tell his patients was running thin.
"You're feeling it too. I can tell." I ignored his demand, stepping forward and placing my hands gently on his back. "You want it. You want me. Don't you?"
He tensed up. I knew he was struggling to stay still.
"You want my body again. And my body wants you." I grabbed his shoulder, pulling to make him face me. His eyes were bright red with desire. "But Shesshomaru?"
"Yes, Mate." He purred, giving a cocky grin.
"My body wants you." I repeated.
I leaned up onto my tip toes, letting our lips stop only centimeters apart.
"But I," I filled my voice with the most hatred and repulsion I could muster. "Will NEVER want you again!"
I spat on the ground before turning my back and returning to my room.
Suri: One
Shesshomaru: Zero
But if only I had known that I had started a fire that I could not control.
