Hey guys! I wrote this chapter last weekend so I able to post it for you guys this week, however, I am starting up summer classes today (Biology and Physics are going to be torture..ughh). Believe me I'd much rather be writing fanfiction but I might not be able to post a lot more this month. I'll try to work on this as much as I can though. Hope you guys enjoy it!
Disclaimer: I own 0% of Glee in case anyone thought I owned any of it...
"Who was that?" Mercedes asked Tina from her bed, flipping another page in her comic book.
"Oh um, it was just Blaine," Tina said, closing her phone and putting it into her pocket. She was also on her bed, though she was been scrolling through her phone before the call. "And Sam... I think."
"Oh cool."
"Yeah, they just invited us to dinner for tonight at six if you want to go?"
"Oh um." Mercedes stared at the comic book in her hand for a few seconds before answering. "Um it's alright. I think I kinda just wanna stay in tonight. You know, sleep off the first day of classes."
"What? No." Tina stood up and went to go sit on Mercedes bed. "As your roommate I cannot just let you sit in this room on a Friday night alone. You should come out with us. It'll be fun I promise. You should start to enjoy yourself here."
"Oh uh, well I don-"
"I'm not taking no for an answer," the Asian teen grinned.
"Oh well, okay fine," the diva sighed. "Dinner sounds like fun."
"Great. I'm glad," Tina smiled. "It's gonna be so great."
~~~~~~~~~~~Later at 5:40 pm~~~~~~~~~~
"Sam, it's almost time to go. We have to leave soon if we're going to meet the girls on time!" Blaine yelled, knocking very loudly on the bathroom door in their dorm. "Get out of there now man!"
"Give me a second dude. I'm still half naked in here!" Sam screamed back through the door.
"How?!" the brunet cried, walking back to go sit on his bed. "You literally got in that bathroom at 4:30. It usually takes you like two minutes to get ready."
"Well Blaine, tonight's not a usual not, you know? I mean, imagine if this was your first kinda date thing with Kurt. You'd be in the bathroom since 3:30."
"True, true," Blaine nodded for a second before he realized what he said. "Wait, what? But I don't even like Kur-"
"Ahh shut it, I don't have time for your lies tonight dude! I need to concentrate on my dinner with Mercedes."
"You do realize that this is not a date right?" the brunet asked, moving himself to lie on the bed completely. "Like Tina and I are going to be there and Mercedes just thinks she's meeting up with potential friends here."
"Shhhh, why you gotta walk all over my dreams here bro? Let a man live."
"I'm sorry. I have nothing better to do considering I am just laying in this bed, waiting for you to finish prettying yourself up for Mercedes."
"Jeez man, cool down. I'm done, I'm done," Sam said, opening the bathroom door and walking out. He turned to look at Blaine expectantly. "Happy?" The brunet turned to look at Sam and his jaw nearly hit the floor in surprise.
"Um," Blaine started. "What... What is that on your head?"
"What?" The Southerner felt the air above his head. "I'm not wearing a hat."
"No, lower than that," the brunet clarified, sitting up on his bed.
"Um dude, it's called hair," the blond answered, looking at his roommate with concern. "Are you okay?"
"Am I ok- No, Sam! I am obviously talking me about the ten gallons of hair gel you have put on your head!"
"Oh you like?" Sam asked, passing a hand through his hair. When he took his hand out though, he saw a glob of hair gel in his palm. "Oh...gross."
"Yeah, gross. Dude, how much did you use?"
"Well I don't know," the blond said hurriedly walking back into the bathroom to wash off his hands. "I just kept putting gel into my hair til nothing moved anymore."
"Are you serious?" Blaine asked, getting up and following Sam into the bathroom. "Do you know nothing about the fine art of hair gel application?"
"Um considering I didn't even know it was an art..." the blond said as he dried his hands.
"But why'd you even use it in the first place? Hair gel is really not your sort of thing."
"I don't know man. I just wanted to look... I don't know, spiffy or something. I wanted to look nice."
"You do look nice without the hair gel. Just be yourself Sam."
"But who even am I?" the blond questioned, looking into the bathroom on the wall. "That is the real question."
"Sam?"
"Yeah?"
"Stop. You're creeping me out."
"Oh, noted," the Southerner chuckled, running his hand through his hands nervously only to have his hand be covered in gel again. "Damn," he cursed. "I guess I have to take all this jelly stuff out of my hair now."
"Oh um, normally I'd agree with that but considering it is now..." Blaine checked his watch. "5:50, I'd say we don't have time."
"What?!" Sam looked at himself in the mirror. "But I look so bad."
"I don't know man. Just get a towel and try to rub out the most you can in the next two seconds 'cause we're gonna be late," the brunet explained, walking out of the bathroom and heading towards the dorm's front door.
"But d-"
"No, let's go!" Blaine said sternly, opening the front door.
"Ugh, fine." Sam quickly grabbed the closest towel and wiped his hair gel off as best as he could. He threw the towel over the sink and ran out the the apartment in front of Blaine.
"Happy now?" the blond questioned, annoyed.
"Sam?" Kurt asked, walking down the hallway and seeing the blond shooting daggers at Blaine as the brunet left the dorm. "Watcha guys up to?"
"Oh nothing much, we're just about to get dinner with Tina and her new roommate," Sam explained, trying to pay down his now messed-up hair.
"Really?" the porcelain skinned teen asked.
"Yep and it was all Blaine's idea too," the blond clarified. "You know, in case, anyone asks."
"Really?" Blaine asked unbelievingly, hitting Sam's arm. "Who's gonna ask him?"
"I don't know, just making sure."
"Wait, this was Blaine's idea?" Kurt asked, looking both a bit hurt and disappointed.
"Well yeah, I mean, I kinda just said..," Sam shrugged.
"Oh and you..didn't...like..," the porcelain man started, scratching his head. "You know, invite me?"
"Oh," Blaine realized wide-eyed. "Well you know, it was a last minute-"
"No, no. I mean, it seemed like a group thing and I thought I was part of that group but no it's okay," Kurt said, trying to seem nonchalant.
"But Kurt-"
"No, it's okay really. You don't have to invite me to everything you guys do. I'm not your keeper. Besides, I wouldn't even be able to go. I have to help Sebastian study for Algebra tonight."
"Sebastian?" Blaine asked a bit too forcefully, unconsciously clenching his hands together. "Why are you helping your ex with math?"
"Well cause he asked me and we've moved past the whole breaking up thing. You know, he's kinda different now..." Kurt paused. "He's better."
"So what now he's just a jerk now?" the shorter brunet questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Stop."
"What?"
"You never liked Sebastian."
"Maybe because I don't like people who date you that aren't m-" Blaine stopped himself.
"That aren't m..what?" Kurt asked intrigued.
"That aren't... aren't..." The hazel-eyed teen couldn't come up with anything.
"Magic," Sam said quickly, trying to cover up for his friend. "Yeah, Blaine is really into those magicians. But you know, that shouldn't really impede Kurt from dating a non-magician right, Blaine?"
"Oh uh, yeah," Blaine agreed, looking down at his feet. "You're right."
"Wait, magician?" Kurt questioned. "Since whe-"
"Look we'd love to keep on talking man but you see, we are kind of already running late so we're gonna have to go now," Sam interrupted, grappling Blaine's still clenched hand and dragging him down the hallway with his towards the elevator. "See ya later Kurt!"
The two teens turned so that they were facing towards the elevator.
"What was that?" Sam asked as they approached the elevator. He let go of Blaine's hand and clicked the down button.
"What was what?" the brunet questioned, looking straight ahead of him.
"You know, that quarrel/profession of love you just had with Kurt?"
"What?" Blaine looked at Sam. "I didn't not profess my love."
"Uh, well you would've if I wasn't there with my smooth save."
"Ah yes," the brunet said as the elevator doors dinged and opened. The two walked inside. "Magic. Remind me to thank you for that later."
"Well you can just thank me now," Sam smirked. "You're welcome."
"Have you ever heard of sarcasm?"
"Dude, is that your way of saying thank you? Cause I've never heard it like that before."
*Ding ding*
The elevator's doors opened and on the other side stood Tina and Mercedes laughing. Tina smiled when she saw the two guys already in the elevator.
"Oh hey guys," she greeted as she and Mercedes walked into the elevator. Tina stood by Blaine and Mercedes by Sam. "We were just heading down."
"Mercedes," Sam let out, stunned by the outfit she was wearing. The diva was in a tightly fitted dark blue blouse and jeans that accented her every curve. The blond she looked heavenly. He started at her for a second before the air became very awkward for everyone in the elevator.
"Uhh..." Mercedes said, a bit taken aback. "I-"
"And Tina," Blaine chimed in quickly.
"What?" the Asian teen asked confused.
"Oh, yeah. Sam and I have been obsessed with Hamilton and we have this thing now where we greet our friends like the way they say the names in 'The Schuyler Sisters.' You know, 'and Peggy!'" the brunet explained quickly. "But your name's Tina, so you know, "and Tina!" instead."
"Oh heheh," Mercedes said, still feeling a bit awkward. "I love that song."
"Me too!" Sam stated excitedly a bit too quickly.
"Oh uh, cool," the diva smiled at the blond for a second before staring straight ahead as the elevator went down.
"Well this night is off to a great start," Blaine whispered to his friend. "Wouldn't you agree?"
"Yeah," Sam whispered back. "Great start."
