A/N- I apologize for the long wait. March was a very bad month for me health wise. I mean that in the hospital kind of way, not the flu kind of way. I am ok now, so all is good for me to start on this crazy tale I have started. Be assured that no matter what this will be finished. Without further wasting your time...
Oh the tangled web I weave!
Chapter 12
Lauren's Townhome
Lauren opened the door to let Hale inside and they both moved over to the living room where Lauren had already had some tea set out on the table. They both eased into the couch within each other's presence as they have been in each other's lives since they were much younger. Hale has always been the happy-go-lucky, easygoing, down to earth guy that didn't seem to have a care in the world. He had been Lauren's solace after her brother and mother passed. Always her calming port when she was weathering one of her depressions or bouts of anger. He was always the rock that she needed and she couldn't thank him or pay him back if it took all of her life or lifetimes for helping her keep her sanity in the mess that was her life. Hale is definitely her best friend.
"So Laur. Bo." Hale stated with a raised eyebrow as they relaxed into the couch. Lauren could feel her flush start to grow from her chest through her neck and just about to hit her cheeks before it dissipated. This is the effect the brunette had on her without even being in the room. Lauren giggled a little and rolled her eyes as she looked to the ceiling for a bit of composer before she went to answer the unsaid question that lingered from Hale's statement. She looked from the ceiling to her hands as she rubbed her pants legs to try to stop from thinking of the brunette and all of the delicious qualities she had in her features topped with how amazing they just seemed to fit with each other. Effortless.
"Yeah. Bo." She chuckled to herself. "I don't even know where to begin with that, but I can truly say that she makes me happy." She looked Hale in the eyes finally with a sparkle in them paired with a bright smile only thoughts of the brunette could bring.
Hale shared the smile with Lauren and shook his head, "yeah, she has a way about her that is pretty amazing. Most importantly though, I haven't seen you like this in a really long time Lauren and its really good to see you like this again. As long as she can keep you like this you definitely get my vote." Lauren chuckled and nodded.
"So let's get down to more serious things as I could be distracted by that woman all day." Her heart was already beating faster and the butterflies in her stomach were beginning to strengthen with the notion that Bo would be over in a few hours, back in her arms, where it seems like she has belonged her entire life.
Hale went to grab a folder with information for Lauren to look over and laid it out on the coffee table. Inside were various maps as well as profiles from men in locations all over the world. "So Laur, this is the network we have created over the years. We have been running shoddy guns and blank bullets out of these encampments trying to find larger dealers as we gain trust. Thankfully no one ever really uses the guns and they change hands many times before they ever need to be used," Hale sighed hard. "This is a very dangerous game we have been playing Laur, but we have sparked the interest of someone that may link back to your dad. His name is James Praefke and he is wanted by NCIS for escape and desertion, and is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He was in the academy as your father was moving into the SEALS. I remember when he went AWOL your father mentioning something about him, what exactly I can't recall for sure. Bt what I do know is that when they arrested him your dad went to go see him a few times before he escaped. The man has been country hopping on someone's dime all around the world eluding capture rather consistently. It seems the more that we have sold to these low life middle men over the years has spread out to larger fish that we can be trusted. The weird thing is that he seems to be moving through our sellers in different countries. Not necessarily buying anything, but enquiring about how much they have and what type of guns and ammo they have in stock.
I mean shit Laur, he went from Bucharest to Georgia, to Armenia to Azerb, to Tehran, to Baghdad to Kabul to Islamabad, to New Dehlii to Muscat to Sanaa to Addis Ababa to end up in Nairobi. His path worries the fuck out of me, but also impresses me at the same time. I think we finally have our link to your dad babe!"
At first Lauren's eyes grew wide with excitement and wonder, but all at the same time she realized that if she went through with this it may destroy what she has with Bo. Of course Bo already has her own secrets, but are they to the extent of what she herself is hiding? Could she even fathom the beautiful brunette ever having the same kind of dark side to her that she has? Maybe, but no Lauren couldn't even believe she herself is involved with such dealings, let alone her lover. Yet here she is faced with a moral dilemma as to how to move forward. Does she let everything she has worked for, for around a decade go to waste over a woman she just met? Granted a woman that has changed everything, and quite literally EVERYTHING the blond ever thought to be sacred in the matter of seconds. Or does she finish what she has started as many, many lives are on the line, and the answers she has sought as well as her vengeance are so close with these findings that it is almost palpable.
Lauren looked at her hands as she circled her thumbs around the tips of her pointer finger over and over as if the answers to the worlds problems would come with every passing circle. She seemed to of been in this trance for hours although it was mere seconds, but she desperately needed that time to process as she hated her own answer that was about to come forth. Regardless, she knew it was what needed to be done, and was the only thing to end all of it.
"Hale, I'm going with you!"
Clubhouse
Bo came home from talking to Lachlan and immediately went upstairs to her room to lie down. She ignored the gang hanging out on the couch half chatting and half watching TV. Kenzi, however, missed nothing and waited a good thirty before she herself went to find Bo. Assured that everyone was distracted enough to not question her sudden departure as anything more than her using the bathroom Kenzi quietly went up the stairs to check on Bo in her room. She gently knocked on the door stating her name and when she didn't hear her friend respond she checked to see if the door was locked. Upon noticing that it wasn't she slowly opened the door to peak inside to see where Bo was. She was quietly sobbing into her pillow in the fetal position on her bed. Kenzi went in shutting the door behind her quietly walking over to her friend and sitting down next to her. Bo didn't stir at Kenzi's movement she just continued to sob into her pillow as Kenzi started to rub the sad brunette's back.
After some time Kenzi finally asked what was wrong, and Bo huffed and chuckled, "wrong? What isn't wrong Kenzi? I mean look I get why you all haven't questioned this shit we do that much, but I had a life I was happy with. A life I was proud of. I crawled out of my own shit to be someone, to be somebody I thought my Grandad would be proud of. Now Lauren…" She sighed really hard and started to shake and cry again. She sniffled before she continued…"Lauren reminds me of a life I could have had that was taken away from me and I still have no fucking idea why." Bo shot up off the bed and looked Kenzi in the eye with her tear stained severely puffy red eyes. " I want that life! I want to be with her and I don't want this anymore. This isn't a life I signed up for. I mean fuck Kenzi what have we actually done? What have we accomplished? Sure the idea behind it is noble and all, but we haven't actually completed anything. We are as sick a fucks as they are with the way we go about shit. No we don't sell women as sex slaves or drugs to kids or bombs to our neighbors, but we kill and torture people. I have fucking nightmares all the time, and yet I keep going for you. For them." She pointed downstairs to where the group was. "For the good of this country that I sworn to protect years ago, but Jesus Kenzi is that what I'm doing!? Is it really what we are doing? I can't really say for sure anymore, all of this seems so fucking crazy and its making me crazy. Lauren is making me crazy on top of it with her conspiracy theory shit and now I just don't know what to think."
"Hold up there sister, what conspiracy theory shit?" Kenzi was starting to get noticeably annoyed.
Bo shot her head up with wide eyes realizing she just made a blunder. Shit! Great job McCorrigan. Ugh I can't do this now. I need Lauren. Jesus. I do need her don't I. "Kenz, not now ok."
"Bullshit Bo, you are crying like a fucking teenager over some girl you don't know when you have 7 lives you manage here in this house that YOU DO know. What the fuck is wrong with you huh? Who the fuck am I fighting with? I thought we were besties and now I feel like I'm being abandoned by you and I have enough issues there as it is." Kenzi looked imploringly at Bo, her supposed best friend, her captain that she has risked her life for several months fighting with, her confidant wondering what the hell is happening to her.
Bo saw the pain and anger in Kenzi's eyes and she knew she was being selfish. If she was to be honest with herself whether she liked it or not there was nothing she could do and nowhere to go. This is her life now and as much as she wanted Lauren they could just never be. The thought of leaving Lauren broke every ounce of humanity left inside her heart to pieces. Lauren was a light at the end of a very dark tunnel of despair, but the only way to the light is to pull her in the dark with her. She couldn't, no she WOULDN"T do that to her. She wanted Lauren to think of her as someone that she could love and love her in return. Never could she admit what she was doing, the work she was doing for her father, a father she absolutely dispised. This would have to be the last time she saw Lauren, as much as that thought killed her, she had to end it. Even though Bo knew without a shadow of a doubt that Lauren was everything she had ever wanted and dreamed for in a life of happiness, that life was over the second she signed up for the force.
"Kenzi, please forgive me, but I need to see Lauren. Just one more time. I will be back before we go. Let everyone know they are free for the next two days just maintain disguises, no phones, no cars to the house, and no fucking weapons, the usual. After I come back I promise to talk to you. Right now I just need…I just need to be with her this one last time." Kenzi understood what Bo meant, grabbing her hand and squeezing it reassuring Bo that she knew and that she would be here. The two best friends looked each other in the eyes for a few seconds having a conversation that needed no words before Kenzi left the room. Just as Kenzi was about to leave, "Oh Kenz."
"Yeah?" She eyes Bo across her shoulder with an arched brow wondering what was missed.
"Could you tell Hale to text Lauren and tell her to pick me up at the usual."
Kenzi smiled a sad smile for her friend. She knew this was going to be harder than anything the brunette has done in the past year. "Sure thing Bo Bo." With that the raven haired girl ran down the steps to join the others and talk to Hale leaving Bo to her own devices. She quickly got up and packed a couple of things in a satchel before trying to put herself somewhat together in the mirror.
"Your doing the right thing you know." Bo jumped at the sound of Evony's voice quickly turning around to see her standing by the doorway with her arms folded over her chest looking straight into her eyes.
"I don't think I know what the right thing is anymore Evony. But I do know that she is the right thing for me, so exactly how is this the right thing?"
"In time you will see the truth," and with that she left leaving Bo to her thoughts yet again. Bo, being on the verge of tears again, shook her head and grabbed her things running out the back door and through the yards running as fast as she could so she could see Lauren as quickly as possible.
Lauren pulled up to her usual parking space that was near where Bo parked her Camaro. It was inside a small park off the beaten path. From the spot you walked through the trees about 30 yards to the back of the lake that surrounded the park area that you walked around to get to the garage's. This time though, Bo was already there looking haggard. Lauren had never seen such a sight before, her face was gaunt and pale as a ghost, gone was the sparkle in her eyes and the smile on her face. Her eyes were clouded with what seemed like gloom and they were red and puffy from crying. As Bo got in she didn't look at Lauren or touch her. She gave a soft barely audibly hi as she shut the door and put on her seat belt. Lauren was torn between grabbing her and holding her and questioning what was going on. She decided to not push things, as it was clear her feelings would be selfish as Bo looked like she just needed silence and comfort.
They drove in silence and remained silent as they walked into Lauren's home. Bo went to go sit on the couch as Lauren went to pour a couple of scotch for them. She came and sat down next to Bo and handed her the glass that she immediately finished. Lauren sighed and just sat patiently waiting to see what her lover would do. Some time passed 15 minutes or so and Lauren finished her drink and put it down. She was going to say something when Bo reached for her hand and pulled her towards her. Without question Lauren leaned into Bo's embrace as Bo began to sob in her arms. Lauren cradled her and just calmly told her it was ok and that she was here for her. Her heart broke as she felt the strong brunette crumble in her arms not knowing what to do or say, as she was so clueless as to what was going on in her head.
Bo pulled back tears staining her cheeks, eyes blood shot and glassy, and her nose wet, "Lauren. I love you." Lauren was taken a back by the statement as that was not what she was expecting at all, nor was she expecting the brunette to launch at her in a huge breath escaping hug. It was as if Bo was holding on to her for dear life in fear of her disappearing. Did Hale tell her I was leaving? Lauren thought, but she knew better than to think he would ever do that. This must have to do with her leaving. Where is she going? Is she not coming back?
"Bo what's going on baby?" She pulled free from Bo's hold on her looking lovingly into her sad swollen eyes. Bo sniffled and looked down trying to control her breathing. She shook her head and looked back up at Lauren cradling her face with both hands. Her eyes told Lauren that talking was not something she wanted to do. Instead Bo lightly kissed Lauren with a notion of pleading to please make love to her and let whatever this is that is hurting her melt away with their love making. Lauren obliged her immediately and laid her gently on the couch where the two softly kissed and caressed each other as if they were handling flower petals.
Outside Lauren's home
Unbeknownst to either woman inside Rainer had watched the whole scene unfold. He was confused by the pain on his niece's face but he knew the love he saw emanating from them both and that somehow Lauren was all Bo needed at the moment. As he began to walk away through the woods before he saw something he never wanted to see he knew without a shadow of a doubt that Bo and Lauren were in love. Whatever was going on with Bo or Lauren it wasn't Lachlan's doing. He wasn't really even sure if the two even knew their history about each other. They were inseparable as babies and even time and distance couldn't keep these two apart. No they were each other's destiny. Of that he was sure.
As Rainer went to get in his truck he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned quickly pulling his weapon, as there wasn't any possible way anyone could find him in the middle of the woods. As he was turning his gun was knocked out of his hands and he was hit in the knee falling to the floor. When he went to lunge up he stopped mouth agape and wide-eyed. "Long time no see Rainer. Want to tell me what the fuck your doing stalking my friend's home? " Kenzi said hands on her hips with her eyebrow arched.
"Holy fucking shit girl it's been years! When the fuck did you leave Russia?"
"Let's worry about me later. I want to know why you are out here snooping. Do you work for Lauren? I knew it was too much of a coincidence when she used your bar as a meet up point. Now spill!"
Inside Lauren's Town Home
Lauren continued to kiss and touch her lover with the utmost care. Letting her know that she would take care of her and love her with her body. She sat up and grabbed Bo's hand walking her up to her room. She stood Bo by her bed taking care to take each garment of hers off one by one very slowly. As she did she would kiss every area of exposed skin as she gently caressed her everywhere with her long fingers. She even bent down on her knees to kiss her feet and legs before finally putting her in her bed as she stripped herself clean. She lay down gently on top of Bo sliding her thigh in between her legs as she slowly started to grind into her lovers core. Being ever so gentle and loving as she did so. As they kissed and fondled each other their breaths became more ragged and their pulses quickened. Bo lifted her leg slightly as to give more friction to Lauren, which received a moan of approval from her.
Bo suddenly flipped Lauren over and started to grind hard into Lauren. Kissing her harder, biting, scratching, until she finally thrust two fingers inside the blond fucking her without abandon. Lauren just held on for the ride of her life as Bo continued to pound into her. Lauren met her with each thrust and was quickly coming to a climax, she ran her fingers down Bo's back scratching her skin and biting down hard on her shoulder muffling the scream she had inside her until the climax ripped through her so hard she let go screaming her name. Both women lay there panting. Lauren was very sore but still satisfied. She knew she had to of drawn blood somewhere on Bo's body. She understood though why Bo needed to fuck her hard, to fuck the pain away. She turned over brushing the damp brown hair out of her lover's face to see her eyes cast down from her. Lauren lifted Bo's chin to make her look in her eyes and she saw that there was a hint of shame in them.
Lauren smiled and kissed Bo sweetly letting her know that everything was ok. "Did I hurt you?"
"I think walking may be a bit hard, but I'll be ok. Do you want to talk now babe?"
"No. I just want you Lauren," she said as she grabbed onto her lover's torso tightly bringing her close. "I want you always and I need you to know that. That as crazy and fucked up as this may seem I love you and just know that YOU are what I want. The life I want. The happy life I have dreamt of…you were the one in it."
Lauren couldn't believe what she was hearing. It was crazy but she didn't care. Life was crazy, she was crazy, but Bo….Bo made everything seem so much better. Lauren kissed her lover turning her on her back. It was her turn to make love to her and they did throughout the night and into the morning. Showing each other how much they loved each other and whispering and moaning I love you throughout the night. As Lauren fell asleep Bo stayed up a little while longer completely spent and exhausted by their love making, but she just couldn't help but watch the blond sleep. She watched her as she breathed relishing every moment. Caressing her porcelain skin with her fingertips. As the sun rose shining slithers of light onto her golden hair Bo smiled with contentment. "I love you baby. I know, somehow the right thing is finding my way back to you when I have cleaned up this mess of my life. You. You Lauren Lewis are the right thing," she whispered as she interlaced their fingers and laid her head down next to her lover. She thought about what Evony said right before she went to sleep. Realizing that the shady yet exceptionally intelligent woman wasn't talking about leaving Lauren. No she was talking about leaving the force.
