Haruhi let out a breath and sat in front of Mitsukuni. "Have you talked to him about it?" Mitsukuni piped up once she was seated. They were out in the grounds again, much like they normally did. Sans Takashi, of course. They couldn't be talking about his future with him present, he would direct the conversation in another direction and they could never get anything done. Haruhi did feel slightly bad that they were meeting behind his back, but she and Takashi weren't officially dating. They'd gone out on one date, with the promise of more, but she wasn't sure if that made them anything more than two people with mutual interest in one another.
"Not yet," Haruhi murmured, feeling for the cup of tea she heard him pour a moment ago for her. "It's a bit complicated when Tamaki has been trying to distract me with all sort of nonsense."
"What kind of things?" Mitsukuni asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Dates, and other things," Haruhi took a sip of her tea. Mitsukuni studied her before sighing exaggeratedly and scooped up some cake onto his fork and ate it.
"Maybe Taka and Haru-chan should just make it official, ne?" his head tilted to the side and studied her response. She gave nothing and he sighed again, "but you wanted to talk about Takashi's chances of going into surgery?"
"Has he said anything to his parents?" Haruhi asked, leaning forwards, eagerly awaiting the confirmation. Mitsukuni was oddly silent for the longest time, Haruhi leaned back. "He didn't did he?"
"No...he's been avoiding talking to his parents."
She frowned, "Why is so adamant about not going?"
"You know why! He doesn't want to leave you behind, and...he's also worried that the surgery will be a bust and it'll get everyone's hopes up."
Haruhi tilted her head downwards and she shook her head slowly. This was getting ridiculous. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. She didn't want to be in his way of getting an important surgery that could give him the use of his legs back. If he didn't get the surgery, he was holding himself back from doing what he wanted to. Kendo, protecting everyone. If he didn't have a wish to get his legs back, she wouldn't dare push him towards it. The thing was...she could tell it killed him that he wasn't able to walk or run.
"If..." she sighed, "If I were to get my eye surgery, would he-"
"Of course!" Mitsukuni cheered, "You can get your surgery!"
"Mitsukuni, it costs 240,000 yen. My father and I don't have that kind of money," she leaned against the table with an apologetic smile. "Takashi will have to do it without me getting my eye sight back."
"Don't you want it?"
"We've been over this, if I could get the surgery I would." Haruhi pushed her chair back and stood up. "We've got to get to the club."
Mitsukuni pouted but stood up, "It's not as much fun as it was when the twins were there."
"It's quieter, and everyone's always talking about them," Haruhi admitted quietly, allowing Mitsukuni to take her hand and lead her towards the Host Club. They were apparently going to do some cosplaying today, trying to bring everyone out of the funk they were facing. Haruhi knew that they couldn't cancel another week of Host Club least Kyouya blows a casket. He was sick and tired of Tamaki's attempt at figuring out different cosplays and other ideas for what they could do to apply a twist to something.
Mitsukuni ushered her into the room, and followed behind. There was silence before she heard someone rushing over to her. Instead of standing in the way, she stepped to the side and heard someone collide with the door. There was a quiet, but distinctive groan. "Hello Senpai," she called back as she headed further into the Third Music Room. She wanted to get dressing up over with. There wasn't any choice in the matter.
"Haru~hi!" Tamaki called out, "Look at the costume Daddy chose for you!" Mitsukuni and Kyouya gave Tamaki a look. Not only for the feminine costume that he picked out, but for his blatant ignorance of her disability. Tamaki's hand flew to his mouth. "Haruhi, please forgive me! You're blind!"
Haruhi waved a hand in front of her shocked face, "Why didn't anyone tell me?"
Mitsukuni giggled before heading over towards her and tugging on her arm. "Tama-chan is lying, your costume is back here. Come on!"
"Where's Takashi?" she asked towards where she hoped Kyouya was located. He hadn't spoken yet, and she could be very well talking to air right now.
"His therapy session has gone over schedule," Kyouya answered from the opposite direction, "He should be here just in time for the Club to start."
"What do you mean, Kyo-chan?" Mitsukuni turned around and tilted his head towards the teen. Haruhi continued on until her fingers brushed against fabric. She ran her hands over it before turning towards Mitsukuni. He shoved a bundle of fabric into her arms and pushed her into the changing room. Kyouya waited until Mitsukuni was finished before snapping his clipboard shut with a sigh. He adjusted his glasses and looked up at the two of them.
"Apparently they have discovered something, but that is just what I have gathered. Without Mori-senpai or his therapist saying anything about it, the information is very hard to access, even with my ability," Kyouya explained with a shrug. "Besides Mori-senpai will probably end up telling you anyways."
"Telling him what?" Haruhi asked, leaving the changing room. A kimono graced her body, and Mitsukuni clapped.
"You look so kawaii~!" he cooed before heading over and tugging at her sleeve gently. It was silky to her and she liked the feeling. She smiled down towards the smaller older man. Before Kyouya could say anything, the door opened and Takashi wheeled himself inside. Haruhi turned towards the door and smiled towards him, she didn't know if Takashi returned the smile or waved, but he didn't say anything in greeting. It was time for the club to start, and Kyouya had the others rushing about while Takashi got himself into his own kimono.

"Fujioka-kun," one of her clients spoke up, her voice was soft. Haruhi turned her head towards the voice and smiled softly. "Do you...have a guide dog?"
"Oh, no. They're too expensive, besides, I know my way around," she smiled at the girl.
"No they're not!" the girl spoke quickly, "You can get them for free if you qualify! Depending on where you go."
"Dogs need to eat," another girl spoke up gently, "I'm sure Fujioka-kun is able to handle himself without a dog."
She smiled gently at the women, "It's a thoughtful suggestion, thank you. Would you like some more tea?"
Maybe that was the solution? To get a dog instead of the surgery? She knew it would cost more than it probably would to just get the surgery in the long term, but she didn't care. If she suggested to get a seeing-eye dog then maybe that would urge Takashi towards getting the surgery he wanted to get but was too afraid to. She couldn't focus too much on the conversation after that, but the girls didn't seem to notice. They were too busy talking about the costumes or other items.
As she was taking off her kimono later on when the door burst open. "Kao-chan! Hika-chan!" Mitsukuni cried, "What are you two doing here?"
"We broke in!" Hikaru crooned.
Haruhi quickly pulled a shirt over her head before heading out of the room. Four arms wrapped around her and squeezed her tightly. She felt short of breath, but welcomed it happily. "We missed you guys, it's been a long time," Kaoru added with a grin towards the others.
"It's been two weeks," Haruhi sighed as they squeezed her again.
"Too long!" they crooned again, and she quietly agreed.
