"So, what the change?" Me and Nat waiting at her office.
"What you mean?" She asked back
"You, I heard rumors about famous Black Widow. Even after you stop spying on me. You take more desk job and only supervisor on the field. Don't know, should you more killing people than doing paperwork. You becoming more Coulson than her." I said that casually while spinning on the chair from boredom.
It's been a month since Banner contract. Vanko of course escaped from prison. But knowing it was Hammer. I just reporting to Nat as my supervisor of Vanko location using tracking as excuse. We found Vanko and Hammer at his private hangar having dinner like the movie. I took some pictures for collection. Now Hammer were put in the cell across Vanko. His company fell and I bought it. No one will destroying that Expo.
And for the Expo. Unlike Tony, I just run it for two months. It end nicely and company price rising that made Pepper bear hug me till I hard to breathe. How, is the another question despite my enhanced body.
Space program is run nicely too. SpaceX and SI collaboration working in tandem to build the first ever orbital shipyard. Moon colonization is on the way too. Though it's not for living habitat. It's more for resort and tourism. Some companies starting have their own spaceship or programs as expected. And with my assembly line design, everything going so fast.
We currently have forward bases in some moons and planets across solar system that we rented them to space agencies for research purposes. They more like non permanent building and hab. But it worked like everyday and non stop. See, we made a space public transport system like bus or train. So scientist can depart this morning and return tomorrow. That includes the supplies.
With QEC licensed to communication companies. You can even access internet from Mars. Cable and satellites are outdated. There's some scrap companies that rises in this. They buy ships then scrap satellites or space objects for governments. I sell the holographic technologies too and now everything got projected. So screen is outdated too.
Phones and computers are getting faster and smaller than in Danny universe in 2018. It all getting high tech and all but they won't expected for release until next year. Because everything was still under development by many corporations. And I expect some animes and games graphic improved early too.
My fusion power plants and Nitramine battery cell are hot in the market. So hot and popular that oil price take a dive despite my effort. Oil distributor countries and companies are scrambling because of it. So energy race is on track. Arc Reactor of course still at the shelves but it won't be long.
Now my exo suit were used ranging from military to industries. Currently everyone still complying to my death threat. There's increase of survivability from militaries and law enforcements. And increase productivity from industries.
Some criminal groups did get their hands on them. But as promised, I punched their jaws to rip it. Some survived other not so much. Not even Fury willing to put paperwork for that. He said something about it's their own damn fault.
Robotics getting better on design and performance. Medical, metallurgy, agriculture, aquaculture and almost everything that needed technologies were improving in one way or another. Howard is right, everything is achievable through technology.
Stark Foundation is on the roll too. With enough fund from my personal pocket and not even touch company money. Thousands of independent researchs were founded. A lot scientists want to surpassed me. I support them as long they not endangering innocents. And of course thousands of inventions rising from this.
Relief effort for many conflict region are not forgotten and disasters relief are founded by this too. Many nations and organization collaborating for this because usually NGOs are usually targeted for raid. And because name of Stark are connected to Iron Man. Nobody dare to touch their or our work. The ones who dare got real Iron Man rain down missiles on their ass.

This is the sector that I need to watch out. And SSS or any human enhancement programs definitely on the roll too, albeit secretly. Shit would be annoying if megalomaniac have those.
"Because I live my life." Nat answer threw me of from the upside and downside of technology improvement.
"Shit, you do?" I'm surprised, because she took my advice seriously.

"Well, congratulations then." I summoned my phone from storage. "Why Fury make us wait too damn long?"

"Unless you starting selling drugs to kids. I don't care what you do. But if you want to tell me, go ahead I might have some input." I really want to know actually. Because if I'm not wrong Widow just turned into Coulson.

So I thought by joining S.H.I.E.L.D. at least that I can redeem myself using my skill. Until I met you and your weird view of the world or worlds now." Wow, I turned Nat from pessimistic assassin to melancholic office lady.

"Yes, I asked Fury to change me from combat to supervising. And surprisingly he agree. My six months as your assistant was training myself at desk job and paperwork. Yours is ridiculously a lot for someone that stopping as CEO. And I found a bit enjoyment handling your Stark Foundation." I chuckled at that. Black Widow were on the job training in desk job matter by becoming my assistant.
"I still at S.H.I.E.L.D. so my deal still stand. While it was not what I expected. I don't need doing things I don't like." She a bit smiling there and I sensed some contentment from her.
"So I guess the unexpected thing is becoming me and Banner supervisor." She instantly souring at that. But I just chuckled at it.
"Fury didn't tell me to keep it secret, so I don't. Currently you sit in front of Avengers Initiative supervisor. Basically, every individuals that got Fury 'eye' on them becoming my responsibility. And you becoming consultant for this program too." Well Fury is Fury.
"So, less Black Widow and more Nat The Boss." She nodded at my remark.

"Come in." When Nat said it. And Fury entering the room with a middle aged black dude and some bald chick, all in formal business suit. I found the black dude familiar too, wait a second.

"Who do you think I looked first when I tried to created vibranium. And bald chick just confirmation. The famous Dora Milaje. You should used a war dog to make you more blended with the crowd." I nodded at our female guest.
"You were not joking Director Fury. She have access to some knowledge that shouldn't be known." The male guest speak in very familiar accent.
"Fury, how much trouble that I get myself this time?" I'm raising my eyebrow. I stand up and let our male guest sit in my chair.
"Not much, but they want some answers. Remember when you gave me your conjured vibranium sample. Well they are the expert that I called." Oh, he messing with me. I put magic barrier around myself then running my mouth with colorful words.
"Did she know that I can lip reading?" Male guest asked Fury. I heard them but I don't care.
"It's just formality to her. You done Iris?" I finishing my rambling when Nat asked me.

They will know and you have to answer a very angry world." Fury froze up at my words. He knew the impact of the situation. The Dora Milaje thought that was insult. But before she move T'Chaka stopped her.

"It's a king job to protect his people, Your Majesty. And you just doing your duty but you starting to run out time too." He stopped at the door at my word.

"So, Wakanda is advance nation?" Nat asked.
"Yes." Me and Fury said in unison.

"Hahaha..." I'm just laughing and take their pictures. But Pepper suddenly pick her phone and start calling someone.
"Strange this is Pepper. No time but I want you to kidnapped and hold Iris for a while, NOW." That's a very powerful order there.
"Why you need... MOTHERFUCKER." Then a portal opened beneath me and I fell. I fell on my back and then I'm being restraint by two dozens Stranges.
"Any reason why Pepper have to asked me to restraint you?" I look at Strange, he had this confusion in his face.
"It's my birthday and apparently everyone forget about it. Guess Pepper try to organize it. And asked me to stay here." I explained that to him. Then he released his restraint and dispelled his clones.
"Well, seeing that nothing bad happened. Want a tea?" He conjured a table, chairs and tea set.
"Yeah, might planning as well while I'm here." I conjured a glass of iced tea of my own.
"The Eye is secured by Kamar-Taj. So what next, Tesseract?" He asked.
"We'll give it to Asgardian. Did their Bifrost down?" He nodded.
"Well, Loki will bring The Scepter. After that, I'll hunt HYDRA from S.H.I.E.L.D. shadow. The Scepter will be our under custody. And I'll guard it personally." I explained.
"You will take the mantle as guardian of Mind Stones. Kinda fitting isn't it." He chuckled at that.
"Find it, hide it, then wipe the location from my head. I'll be damned that Ultron exist here." Yeah, I won't be like Tony. I won't retired, I'll fight for eternity if needed. If Ancient One can, why wouldn't I.

"It have the same properties as The Space Stone container, The Tesseract. While it not as powerful as the one that contain Space Stone. It enough to serve the purpose." Idea starting to forming in my mind.
"What are the capabilities of this element?" He thinking hard too.
"Stabilize, contain and control energy. And weirdly enough, any kind of energies." After hundreds of experiments I only scratch it surface of its ability. Though now I'm able to conjure it.
"And in Tesseract, Space Stone is the energy." I nodded at him.
"With conjuration, I can make alternative source to power The Bifrost Bridge. So we or Asgardian can hide Tesseract better." I put my hands on the block and starting to recharged it. It changed by getting brighter. The block got a runic design on it too.
"That, quiet powerful. What you put in it?" Strange studying my work.
"Dark energy, from dimension that composed from it. No connection with Dormamu realm mind you. And in large amount too." My body starting to feel the heat.
"And the runes?" He looked at the intricate pattern.
"So it stays connected and sucking dark energy from that realm." Now I feel the burn around my body because so much energy that pass through me so quickly.
"Iris, I know you getting used to the pain. But that a lot of power, so I know you feel it." Strange put a concern face. I put my all in this one. I just gritting my teeth and tough it out.
"Just need to start it up in few seconds." Then like hammer were hit on metal, the THANG sound was heard. The Battery is getting very bright like a lightbulb.

"Not yet, we still halfway." I made a hollowed cube of metal with rune on the inside and outside.
"What is it?" Strange asked me.
"Like every battery it need the casing. I'm going to destabilize Howardium cube, make it overloaded with energy by removing the limiter rune. The casing will holding it so it won't shattering and staying to draw energy in very large quantity. And the casing is acting as the energy conduit too." I put the core in the casing then conjure the lid, seal it. Put my hand on now metal cube then I remove the core limiter. The rune around the metal is getting bright blue, very bright.
"Why don't you put the core in the casing when charged and start it up?" Very astute observation Master Strange.
"The energy that I put is charging for the start up. The bigger energy for start up, bigger the connection with that realm, bigger the energy input. The start up sequence is the most important and dangerous part. Little mistake with that amount of energy can vaporizer whole state. That's why direct contact is needed to prevent 'pending' when sequence is started." Yeah, I made mega nuclear battery.

"Is that supposed to be shaking violently like that?" The Battery jumping around a little here and there sounds of muffled explosion was heard. And there's very loud hum from it.
"It will reach its critical point. And probably expand till explode." I just shrugging at The Battery that getting more violent because too much of energy input.
"Are you sure the casing can hold it?" Strange suddenly put us and The Battery in MD.
"The casing is made from uru and vibranium mix. Don't asked how I made it, but it involved with many explosions. The rune is something I learn from Ancient One collections with Wong supervision." Im not even look worried with bomb in front of me.
"Have you done this before?" He asked.
"A technophilic genius raccoon mercenary with weird fetish on prosthetics made a bomb that killed a planet type Celestial by using stolen batteries and talking plant as his assistant, for a first time inside that planet. He's not even using a duct tape and his assistant is a few inches plant baby that can only talk 'I am Groot' and doesn't even know which button to press. So, I'll be damned if I got beaten by that jackass." As I'm screaming the last part, the sound of big explosion was heard from The Battery while it jumped around two feet from the table.
"This universe writer is weird?" He wondered.
"Maybe we should learn to visit Danny universe. You can talked to actor that played your role. He played Sherlock Holmes too. I can get home to redownload my...well, everything." Too many universes to pinpoint which Danny origin is. Infinite possibility is too damn much to seek. It's not a needle in haystack. It's a black needle in fucking space.
"Too damn much. Anyway is it done?" Strange even agree.
"Yes, it's a bit powerful that I expected though." The rune lines was very bright, like very blinding. And there's a soft hum that was heard. It's very soft and nice hum.
"Let me check it." He doing some scan on it.
"Wow, that is a very powerful indeed. If it explode now, this side of planet would definitely damaged." He commented as he scan it.
"Who thought that make planet killing battery was so easy?" Strange glared at me.
"Don't give me that look. I put a safety there. If the core exposed, it's connection will be cut and it will only make a small explosion." He still glaring.
"How 'small'?" Well, he understand alright.
"Possibly, it can make Empire State building collapse if this explode beneath it." I just shrugging it off then put The Battery to my storage space.
"That's not quite small explosion you know." He just sighed and return us from MD.
"Better than wiping this side of planet." Then Strange phone is ringing.
"Hello, yes Pepper she is here. Dangerous?...Stupid? No, we don't do... You sensed it!?... You sensed HER!?...It just...Yes, I'm sorry we did something...No, we didn't destroyed anything...Yes, there's no explosion yet... Yes, it's still stupid and dangerous...No, it's her idea..." Fear running through my vein. My pain and fatigue from making the battery is forgotten. Suddenly Strange restraint me.
"Strange let me go, I need to run. And how can you restraint me?" I squirming my way out.
"Divine order and blessing. Now, Pepper invited me too. Come on, we got birthday party to attend." Strange dragging me to portal.
"Nooooo..." This going to be a weirdest birthday ever.

"Fine." I blow the candles and make my wish. Everyone clapping at that.
Apparently, because my extreme childish behavior. Everyone treating my birthday like little girl birthday. This is not big lavish party like my past self used to held. We're at my kitchen with acquaintance and family. It's not big, actually just small decor and big cake.
Pepper, Happy and Rhodey definitely here. Nat brought Clint. Fury come too with a Greenland postcard from Coulson for me. Strange brought Wong from Kamar-Taj. Banner and Ross junior here too.
"You know it kind of different than last year isn't it? All it take for me to open my eyes was took an explosion to the face." I cut the cake absentmindedly while talking and everyone just listened silently.
"Dead good man to open my heart. And truth to open my mind." I just chuckled a little while passing the cakes.
"I changed a lot and in many ways. I stopped making weapons of war. Yet I find myself in it." Strange and Wong gave sympathetic look. They know what I meant.
"Saving people yet killing almost the same amount." Fury, Nat and Clint nodded in understanding because they knew the burden.
"Killing monsters but turned myself into one in the process." Banner nodded too.
"Becoming demon but acting like an an angel." I just huffing like it no big deal. Because it's not a big deal actually.
"Wonder what my parents think of me as it's now? Dad definitely criticizing new Arc Reactor. Because he would find my errors liked he always did. Mom, probably just went bonkers with my current behavior now." Iris really attached to them.
"But don't worry I already accepted it and made my peace." My smile confused them.
"I stand tall and already walked far. But I won't stopped here. I already live for a fucking millennia for fuck sake. Yes, I felt the pain, the weariness or the madness." I just laughed at that.
"But you know, I'm not try make the better world for me. I try it for you. Pepper, Happy, Rhodey, thank you for accepting me as your family." They starting tearing up that.
"Thank you for your teaching and guidance, my dear mentors." I addressed to Strange and Wong.
"You are not easy pupil. But you do like to learn and went far no matter how annoying you can be." Strange joked.
"Fury, thanks for not crossing my Index and send your super spies slash assassins to me. They will be hard to deal." Pointing the last part to Nat and Clint.
"More like the other way around. You will be harder to deal if I crossed you." He just grumbling.
"Bruce, Betty. While we know for a short time. I had a pleasure to work with you, so thank you too." They raised their glass at me.

"Strange, you don't back home?" Only me and him now. Everyone already went back.

"Damn spy, I depart as soon as possible. Should I visit Morag for Power?" It could be easier while I'm off planet.
"Don't, it need to be there so Guardians can be exist." He's right too.
"And with that, Xandar will attacked and many people will die. My 'knowledge' tend to downscaled the information." I just sighed at the burden.
"The enemy playing game of shadow Iris. I know you like to flipping the board but if you do that the white chess pieces will affected too." He very right about that.
"Such a sin and burden that I have to bear." MD can be look nice if you have time to appreciate it.

I just looked at silent peaceful night. If only universe like this. But no, I got crazy alien on my plate. Wouldn't it be easier if Thanos triple the universe source. I mean really, wiping half of universe population not an effective way.
The populations will returned to it's original numbers then expand again. Like Ian Malcolm said, life find the way. What he did just trying to delaying what unavoidable. There's always way to make or seek resources. It's better than kill the consumer that for sure.
