September 22: Nonaka Residence – 4:37 PM

Renamon's fur began to bristle as she directed her eyes over the wall surrounding the house. Rika noticed this immediately as evident by how she stood up quickly and pulled out her D-Power. "Why does this not surprise me?" the redhead muttered as she slid on her sunglasses.

"I sense only three Digimon, that shouldn't be too difficult," Renamon informed them.

The other DigiDestined put on sunglasses as well, knowing full well what the digital fog could do to one's vision if directly exposed to it. The Digimon got into their fighting stances just as the fog started appearing around them. None of them could get over how the Tamers' partners were all able to sense the presence of another Digimon so quickly.

"This place is perfect!" a deep, husky voice laughed.

"It'll make quite a castle, won't it big brother?" agreed another, although this one almost sounded like a combination of multiple voices.

Finally, the third voice chimed in, sounding even deeper than the other two. "Then it's settled! We shall conquer this place as our home!"

"Excuse me?" Rika muttered.

Tai turned back to the house. "Yolei, get out here! Ms. Nonaka, please stay inside!"

The purple-haired girl slid opened the door, ready to yell at them for making so much noise but shut her mouth when she saw the shadows of three unknown Digimon and the eerie fog creeping in. "Well, this can't be good. What's going on?"

"A fight, that's what," Rika growled. She held up her digivice, as did everyone else and they were able to obtain information on them all.

"That first one is Musyamon, the Champion level," Kristy stated. "I think I remember watching Yolei take him on in the second season of the Digimon show."

Yolei nodded to show that the younger girl got her facts right. "That's a good memory you've got there. Yeah, I fought a Musyamon when I was on my school trip to Kyoto. It shouldn't be that tough to take him on again."

"That second one is Asuramon, he's at the Ultimate level," Tommy observed. "I battled him when I was stuck in Sakkakumon's Flame Area. He also appears to be the evolved form of Musyamon."

"That makes the eldest brother, the Mega, the evolved form of Asuramon," Rika added. "And he's known as Zanbamon. These guys are no jokes; even the Champion is strong enough to tear down fortresses alone. We shouldn't underestimate them."

Digital Analyzer: Zanbamon is a Demon Man Digimon with the appearance of a horse-riding warrior. Despite the fact that he is the leader of an army of samurai, he prefers to be on the frontlines, fighting by cutting into his opponents. Similar to that of a centaur, the lower half of Zanbamon's body is fused with his horse making it easier and faster for him to move. He wields the gigantic zanbato, "Dragon Beheader," in his right hand and the slender youtou, "Scale-Dancing Dragon Beheader," in his left.

Agumon nervously gulped upon hearing that description as he placed his claws on his neck. "Why do both of his weapons involve decapitating members of my species?"

"Don't worry Agumon, I won't make you fight him, especially since he's at the Mega level," his partner told him.

Rika scoffed, she understood that Tai was only trying to protect Agumon but they're all in for it if they don't beat Zanbamon. "Fine, you two stand back then. Renamon and I will take care of Zanbamon."

"I'll help you out," Kristy added. An orange Digi-Soul enveloped itself around her entire being as she slammed her hand onto the top of her Data Link Digivice. "Hope you're ready for this Biyomon! DNA Full Charge!"

At the same time, Rika pulled out a blue card from her deck and slid it through her D-Power. "Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution Activate!"

"Biyomon Warp Digivolve to… Garudamon!"

"Renamon Matrix Digivolve to... Taomon!"

Yolei glared at Musyamon before looking down at her feathered partner beside her. "Let's take care of that glorified ninja like we did last time! Digi-Armor Energize!"

"Hawkmon Armor Digivolve to… Shurimon! The Samurai of Sincerity!"

"Aw come on, I don't want to fight a puny little brat," Asuramon cackled.

"Sorry, but this 'brat' is much stronger than you might think." A data ring formed around Tommy's hand and he clashed it with his D-Tector. "Execute Beast Spirit Evolution… Korikakumon!" The others were a little more than surprised to see the youngest member of their group transform into a giant yeti. Tommy always did wonder why his beast spirit was so much larger in size to his friends.

The Samurai of Sincerity used the large shuriken on his back to fly a little higher and landed on the roof of Rika's house, Musyamon following him. "If you don't mind, I'll be starting this battle," Shurimon stated as he stretched his limbs forward, with the stars attached, towards his foe. "Double Stars!"

"As if I'll fall for such an attack!" Musyamon called back as he used his blade to block the stars. Shurimon's limbs compressed back to its original position just as Musyamon got close to him. "I've got you now! Ninja Blade!" His sword became coated in blue flames just before striking.

"Ninja Wind!"

Musyamon blinked in surprise as his sword only stabbed through a small hurricane of leaves. He turned around quickly when he found that his opponent had suddenly appeared behind him. "I don't know how you did that but we're going to get this castle for big brother no matter what!"

"I hope you guys realize that this is no castle," Shurimon sighed.

Yolei had somehow managed to climb to the rooftop and was cheering her partner on. "Yeah, you tell him!"

"Yolei, get down from there, it's dangerous!" Tai shouted up to her.

"No way, all the other teams get much more involved in their fights than we do, I want to prove that we're not just some sort of cheer squad," the lavender haired teen called back.

"Is she on fire up there?" Kristy wondered offhandedly.

"It's amazing you can be distracted from battle when your partner is down here fighting," Rika stated matter-of-factly. "Taomon, I'm going to give you a little boost. Digi-Modify! Formation Alpha: Crest of Destiny Activate!"

"The Crest of Destiny?" Tai started as the American Digidestined, Wallace's crest flashed on Taomon's back.

"It's a card that gives a temporary but incredible attack boost to any Ultimate-level monster," Rika explained. "It was derived from the movie when it Golden Armor Digivolved Wallace's Terriermon into Rapidmon. We thought it was strange since Henry's partner can do that but it's on his ordinary evolutionary line. Still, it's one heck of a card."

The clothes on Taomon took on a bright golden gleam and changed into a special armor. She still pulled out a giant paintbrush from out of her sleeve though and drew a talisman into the air in order to attack though. "Talisman of Light."

Garudamon drifted back a few feet. "Wing Blade!"

Zanbamon didn't even move from his spot as both attacks hit him head on. As the smoke cleared, they could see him still standing with his swords raised, crossing each other to shape the letter X. "Do you really think that's all it takes to defeat me? Pathetic humans!" He raised his larger blade and charged right at Taomon with the intent of destroying her into bits of data. "Focal Blade!"

Taomon barely had time to put up her barrier in between them but even with it up, the sword smashed right through and would've sliced up the mage too if it weren't for Garudamon taking her away. Taomon and Garudamon narrowly escaped the demon man's attack as they floated at the edge of the digital fog.

"That sword cut through my force field like it was made of paper," Taomon huffed.

"He's no ordinary Digimon, that's for sure," Garudamon added.

Kristy blinked as she saw steam running from the blade that had been swung. "Don't tell me he swung it so fast and hard that heat was made through friction with the air. That's nearly impossible." She then looked back to Taomon in time to see that the golden armor was gone. "Rika, shouldn't that armor have powered up Taomon's defenses as well?"

"It was an Alpha Formation card, it only does offense," Rika told her. "Besides, even if it did, Zanbamon's Dragon Beheader has enough power to break through even the strongest of armors. Unless it belonged to a Royal Knight or another Digimon of that caliber."

Tai and Agumon turned their attention towards the fight between the beast spirit and the four-armed wizard Digimon. They turned just in time to see Asuramon's head twist around and reveal his Face of Wrath.

"Fire Fist of Shiva!"

Korikakumon braced himself as he took on all of Asuramon's punches which came at incredible speed and force from all four of his arms. "Is that all?" Korikakumon grunted.

"Not yet! Fire Fist of Shiva!"

At the last of his punches, he stopped and all four arms were extended towards Korikakumon. This time, instead of punches, flames blasted out and enveloped the Warrior of Ice in flames. It was horrifying to hear Tommy's screams mixed up with his spirit's own but it wasn't enough to break the boy.

"Now I'm mad," Korikakumon growled. "Frozen Arrowheads!"

The braids on Korikakkumon's head broke through the flames and wrapped themselves around Asuramon's body, holding down all of his limbs. Asuramon's faces switched to his Face of Sorrow while Korikakumon smirked. The yeti began swinging his head around and slammed Asuramon into the ground.

Asuramon slowly got back up just as Musyamon fell from the roof and onto his head. "If this keeps up, I'm going to need a Face of Suffering," Asuramon moaned.

Shurimon drifted back down to the ground and stood beside the Ultimate Digimon. "Well that wasn't too hard. Are the two of you ready to surrender?"

"As if!" Musyamon shouted. "Shogun Sword!" This time, the flames surrounded his blade but took on the shape of a ghost-like dragon, ready to make an impact on his opponents.

His elder brother blasted another wave of flames from his extended arms. "Asura Exploding Fist!"

"Avalanche Axes!"

Korikakkumon threw both of his tomahawks spiraling at his opponents, slicing right through the attacks easily. Right after that was done, Shurimon floated back into the air and stretched his limbs forward again. "Double Stars!" The shuriken stabbed both of their foes in the eyes.

The two of them cried out in pain as they held their wounded eyes and hopelessly fell onto the ground while flailing about like little children.

Zanbamon growled in disappointment at the foolishness of his younger brothers. "You two are absolutely useless!" he shouted angrily as they pulled the shuriken stars out of their eyes. "You can't even take care of two Digimon pets?"

"Please, forgive us, big brother!" Asuramon said desperately, like he was begging for his life.

"Yes, we promise to take care of them right away!" Musyamon nodded in agreement and equal desperation.

"No need," Zanbamon snarled. He raised both his blades and beheaded both Asuramon and Musyamon, right in front of the DigiDestined who were mortified as the heads came flying towards them. They, and the bodies, dissipated into data before the heads even touched the ground though. The data didn't gather and become Digi-Eggs though; it was all absorbed by Zanbamon who became even larger with the additional data. "If you want something done right, you got to do it yourself!"

"H-He just destroyed his own brothers…," Yolei stuttered.

"Now that's messed up," Kristy grimaced.

Korikakumon and Shurimon used themselves as shields when Zanbamon took a step towards the two girls. The demon man growled in frustration at their interference so he raised his swords, swinging them which caused vibrations through the air to collide with the two Digimon. "Get out of my way!"

Shurimon crashed onto the edge of the roof and then fell down on to the ground, tiles clattering around him, his partner ran towards him as he degenerated back into Hawkmon. Korikakumon, on the other hand, fell into the small pond, emptying it of water and reverting back to Tommy.

Tai quickly made his way towards the youngest member in their group, concern etched onto his face. "Tommy, are you okay?"

"I'm fine," the preteen replied, although he didn't sound like he was fine.

Zanbamon turned his attention to Rika and Kristy who were just standing there, defenseless. "I think it's about time to destroy some pesky humans, I'm getting tired of your ugly faces anyway," he laughed maniacally.

Kristy never felt fear like she did then; she was trembling but Rika stood her ground. 'How is she not afraid of this guy?'

"Don't think that we've lost just yet!" Rika shouted back as she pulled out another card. "Digi-Modify! Omni-Sword Activate!"

It was one of the rarer cards; a large broadsword appeared in front of Taomon who took hold of it. Tai and Yolei could easily recognize it to be the same blade used by Imperialdramon in Paladin Mode, it was a powerful weapon made from Omnimon's power.

Taomon swung the sword which clashed with both of Zanbamon's blades. "Do you honestly think I will lose to this plaything?" Zanbamon inquired mockingly.

"I won't let you anywhere near my Tamer!" Taomon stated firmly.

Garudamon blasted another Wing Blade towards Zanbamon to which he dispelled easily with one sword and then used the other to get Taomon's sword out of her hands. "You two together don't stand a chance against me! I shall be victorious in this battle!" he shouted triumphantly as he swung his swords, slashing both his enemies across their stomachs.

"Taomon!"

"Garudamon!"

The two Ultimate level Digimon degenerated to their Rookie forms and came crashing down. The two teenage girls ran over to their respective partners as Zanbamon was slowly approaching Rika. "You shall be the first biological being to taste the cold metal of my blade."

Rika didn't even flinch nor did she even look afraid, she was more concerned for her partner than anything else. But she did have a hand held over her stomach and some blood could be seen in the corner of her mouth. The cut that Taomon took was shared with the girl. "You don't scare me!" she spat, despite that.

"Rika…," Renamon moaned. "Please, just get away from here. You can still get out of this safely."

"Don't be stupid," Rika countered. "As if I could ever leave you alone. And you know what could happen if you get destroyed. There'd be no point in me running. But… Even if the pain you take wasn't shared with me, I still wouldn't leave."

There was a small and quick flash of a smile on Renamon's face as she stood up and used her body as a shield for her partner. "Zanbamon… If you want to get to Rika, then you're going to have to go through me first."

"Renamon… Don't… There's no point."

"Rika, you're my Tamer, I have to protect you… No matter how pointless it may seem."

Zanbamon only grinned. "It doesn't matter, I was going to destroy the both of you anyway. Enjoy the afterlife together!"

Right before he swung his swords for the final attack, Tai took out his digivice and looked over to his partner. "Agumon, I think we're going to have to go for it."

"It's worth a shot," the orange dinosaur nodded.

Tai nodded and looked over to the other humans. "We're going to have to borrow a little bit of your power!" Each of their digivices began glowing and then their lights beamed their ways into Tai's digivice, changing its color from white to orange. "Time to digivolve, Agumon!"

"Agumon Warp Digivolve to… WarGreymon!"

Zanbamon's swords clashed into WarGreymon's gauntlets, cutting right into them. The others watched on, mouths agape in surprise and amazement.

"He actually evolved to the Mega level…," Tommy breathed.

"But it won't be enough" Kristy said. "Those blades will cut right through WarGreymon's armor!"

They all knew she was right but none of them knew what else they could do in order to defeat Zanbamon. WarGreymon just broke away from him as soon as he found the chance and raised his arms to the sky. "Terra Force!"

The dragon Digimon sent a giant ball of energy flying towards Zanbamon but Zanbamon just blocked it with his bare hands. The two Mega level Digimon were just pushing against the ball of energy, neither of them were budging.

Tai bit his lower lip in frustration when he saw how his partner was struggling with pushing his own attack towards their foe. "WarGreymon will lose at this rate! He needs more power!"

"Then we'll give it to him!" Biyomon huffed. Hawkmon and Renamon nodded in agreement as the three of them began glowing and sending their power to WarGreymon. The Digimon that had to give away their energy reverted to their baby forms.

"Ah, Pururumon!" Yolei exclaimed.

Kristy caught her Digimon as he fell back into her arms. "Puwamon!"

Renamon shrunk down to a miniature fox in front of Rika. "Viximon!"

"It's time I end this battle once and for all!" WarGreymon growled. "Terra Force!" He pushed with all his power and with the additional strength he was given, he deleted Zanbamon completely. The demon man didn't even expect his own defeat.

"No!" he yelled as his data dispersed. "I absorbed my own brothers' data, how can I lose?!"

As the Digi-Egg dropped to the ground, Rika collapsed next to her partner. "Absorbing data will never make you stronger… I learned that a long time ago…" She coughed and blood immediately spurted from her mouth. Cutting open the stomach may not be fatal for a Digimon but it certainly is for a human. Rika was just lucky that she hadn't been in direct contact of the blade.

Viximon looked back up to her partner as the auburn-haired girl's eyes closed shut. "Rika? Rika!"

September 22: Odaiba District Mall – 4:37 PM

The entire mall shook as the people inside were fleeing out from every exit they could find. Most of them seemed to be avoiding the fog that had appeared inside the mall from out of nowhere. It wasn't long before the only ones inside the shopping center were the DigiDestined and security guards who were too afraid to approach the strange fog where loud noises were coming from.

"I sure hope that wasn't a rhino butting his head into my favorite shop," Mimi huffed as she and their group ran into the fog with sunglasses on.

The five of them stopped as they saw five dinosaur-like Digimon ramming into things like they were scared and lost, destroying everything around them with their horns in their confusion. "Well, they aren't rhinos but you were close," Keenan muttered.

Davis scanned the area and took note of two particular Digimon. "I recognize two of them, they're Monochromon and Triceramon."

"Yeah, and the red one is called Vermilimon, an Ultimate like Triceramon," Henry added. Four out of five of the DigiDestined raised their digivices and out came their Digimon partners. "I'm not quite sure what the other two are, their information isn't showing up on my D-Power."

He was answered by Keenan. "They're also Monochromon and Triceramon, the difference is, they're both carriers of the X-Antibody. So we can just refer to them as Monochromon X and Triceramon X, their appearances have changed as well as their strength but not their levels."

"Got it," Zoey nodded. "Then let's take them out before they can cause more damage."

"Yamaki better have a good story for this one."

"Palmon Digivolve to… Togemon!"

"Digi-Armor Energize!" "Veemon Armor Digivolve to… Flamedramon! The Fire of Courage!"

"Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution Activate!" "Terriermon Matrix Digivolve to… Rapidmon!"

"Execute Beast Spirit Evolution… Zephyrmon!"

"DNA Charge Overdrive!" "Falcomon Double Warp Digivolve to… Ravemon!"

Henry glanced over to the only Mega-level Digimon in the group. "Keenan, we'll let you decide which you want to take on. Is the Triceramon X stronger or the Vermilimon?"

"Vermilimon," Keenan replied. "Alright Ravemon, you know what to do!"

Togemon stomped over to Monochromon who glared back at the large cactus. "Sorry but I can't let you destroy one of Mimi's favorite places! Needle Spray!" Monochromon didn't even flinch as the needles harmlessly bounced off of his rock-solid armor. The dinosaur just blinked and turned his head in confusion as if it was wondering if someone had attacked him. Togemon was flustered. "Okay, then how about this… Lightspeed Jabbing!"

Before even the first punch was landed, Monochromon opened up his mouth and blasted a fireball at Togemon. "Volcanic Strike!"

Togemon was repelled backwards and reverted to Palmon who was caught by Mimi as she fell. "I'm sorry, Mimi…," Palmon moaned. "He's a fire attribute Digimon, someone like me doesn't stand much of a chance unless I was Lillymon."

"It's okay, just rest," Mimi said softly.

Both Monochromon and Monochromon X blasted another volley of flames. "Volcanic Strike!"

"Flamedramon!" Davis shouted.

"Right!" His partner jumped in front of Mimi and Togemon and blocked out the flames but the two girls could see that despite being a fire attribute himself, it still hurt immensely to take on two attacks at once. "Try this! Fire Rocket!"

Just like Togemon's needles, the flames only bounced off of Monochromon X's armor, like tossing a paper ball at a concrete wall.

Monochromon X shouted some sort of battle cry as he stampeded towards Flamedramon and cut through him with the large tomahawk he had for a horn, it was too large for the Armor Digimon to escape from too. "Tomahawk Slash!"

"Veemon!" Davis shouted as his partner landed on his back. "Do you think you can go for another one?"

"I'm not so sure," Veemon groaned.

Zephyrmon swiftly avoided one of Triceramon's oncoming attacks but got whipped down by his tail afterwards. "Tail Slap!"

The Warrior of Wind pushed herself out from underneath the tail and floated upwards until she was far enough to avoid any other attacks the dinosaur could launch at her. "It's a good thing he can't fly," she muttered as the wind began to blow around her entire being. "Hurricane Gale!" Blades of pink energy ripped against Triceramon's tough armor, making small cracks in it but it wasn't strong enough to damage him too badly.

"My shell is stronger than any other Digimon!" Triceramon growled. "Tri-Horn Attack!"

Beams of energy shot from his horns but Zephyrmon was fast enough to maneuver through them. Unfortunately for her, the attack blasted the ceiling and chunks of concrete fell on top of her, sending her to the floor.

"Zoey!" Henry shouted when he noticed the Italian teen through the rubble and smoke. He ran to her aid but still kept one eye on his partner who was just dodging the beams from Triceramon X. "Rapidmon, don't play around!"

"Yeah, yeah!" Rapidmon said. "But I'm going to need a boost; Triceramon X's shell is even stronger than his counterpart. Watch! Tri-Beam!" Just like with the other two Digimon, the beam of energy just bounced off of his shell.

"Alright, then this will have to do! Digi-Modify! Hyper Chip Activate!"

"That's more like it!" Rapidmon shot missiles from his back and hands. "Rapid Fire!"

"Golden Tri-Horn Attack!" The beams had an equal amount of power as the missiles as both attacks exploded upon contact in midair. Triceramon X backed up a little bit as he stared unblinkingly at the android Digimon floating above him. "Knock Buster!"

"Knock Buster?" Rapidmon repeated. "That's a close-range attack, how is he supposed to–?" He didn't even get to finish as Triceramon X launched himself into the air. "Oh no…"The dinosaur used his giant front foot and smacked Rapidmon out of the air with an unbelievable amount of force.

"Terriermon!" Henry shouted as Zoey dusted some of the rubble off of her clothes.

"Just how strong are these guys?" Davis muttered. He then looked back to Ravemon who was using his sword to block the sharp horns of Vermilimon.

"Ravemon, we need to help the others!" Keenan called to his partner who obeyed and flew back towards Keenan. The two of them were now the target for the dinosaur Digimon, they seemed to be eager to fight some more. "There are five of them and one of us, so it shouldn't be much of a problem."

"Keenan, don't be ridiculous!" Zoey yelled at him.

Henry nodded in agreement as he held his partner in his arms. He was trying his best to ignore the pain in his gut and on his back from when his partner was kicked and crashed. "She's right, just because Ravemon is a Mega level Digimon, doesn't mean he's invincible!"

Keenan only grinned as he took out his Data Burst Digivice again. "It's been five years but what do you think, Ravemon?"

Ravemon sheathed his blade. "Humph, I think I can easily finish them off in this form with my white wing but I suppose we can do something a little more impressive. Go ahead."

"Charge… DNA Burst Mode!" "Ravemon Burst Mode!"

Everyone else gaped as the Mega level Digimon became even stronger than he was before. The aura glowing on his wings seemed to be blinding his foes.

"Ravemon," Keenan called, getting the attention of his partner. "I want you to finish these guys up quick, so use Mourning Dance and get it over with. We need to get out of here before the authorities arrive."

The bird man nodded and then turned back to his opponents who were all getting ready to attack. Before any of them could launch any of their attacks, Ravemon crossed his arms across his chest. "Mourning Dance."

Ravemon moved so fast that no one could even see him as he seemingly vanished into thin air which didn't just surprise his enemies but his own allies as well. They could all hear what sounded like a sword slashing its way through the air. It was only approximately fifteen seconds later that Ravemon reappeared next to his partner.

Everything was silent and still as Ravemon degenerated to Falcomon until Mimi decided to break the silence by voicing the thoughts of her own and the others. "What did he do exactly?" She was answered when the five dinosaur Digimon let out loud moans of pain and they fell apart like they had been sliced into pieces. The individual pieces then broke apart even further until they were just bits of data gathering to form five Digi-Eggs.

"Glad that's over," Keenan chuckled. He then looked over to the other Chosen Children who appeared to be dumbfounded by this sudden end. "Come on, the fog is about to disappear, get the Digimon back into your digivices and help with these eggs, I can't carry them all by myself."

The fog vanished around the same time they were outside the mall. They could see that the authorities had already arrived and that a police line surrounded the mall.

"Good thing I still had that Lalamon's Lullaby card," Henry huffed as he glanced down to the two security guards that had fallen asleep. "Now let's get out of here before someone sees us. Or before these two wake up."

They all nodded, knowing he was right but Davis just had to ask Keenan something first. "Sure, but Keenan, what was that all about?"

"You mean Burst Mode?" Keenan blinked. "It's a form only me, Marcus, Thomas, and Yoshino can access. It gives a major boost to our partners when they're in their Mega forms, making them equal, and sometimes stronger than even the Royal Knights."

"It was certainly amazing," Henry nodded. "But I'm also interested in that X-Antibody you mentioned."

"I just wonder if everyone else is okay," Zoey muttered. "There is no doubt in my mind that they all ran into trouble as well."

Mimi nodded. "Yeah… You're right about that…" She stopped running abruptly and grabbed onto Henry's collar, halting him and everyone else as well. "Henry, hold on! What in the world happened to your back?"

Henry blinked. "What?"

Davis took hold of Henry and noticed that his back was covered in bruises. "It's like you fell from the sky and landed on your back…"

"…When Triceramon X slammed Terriermon into the ground…"

"What?"

"Never mind, I'll tell you guys all about it later. First, let's get out of here."

September 22: Odaiba Beach – 4:37 PM

"That better just be sea fog," Yoshino muttered as the digital barrier came in from the ocean.

Takato looked over to his partner whose pupils had become slits and was growling. "Sorry Yoshino, but it looks like we have to get ourselves ready for a fight."

"Ugh, I figured you'd say something like that," Yoshino groaned.

She took her sunglasses, which were resting on her head, and pushed them down in front of her eyes just as the fog surrounded them. From out of the water rose a snake-like creature, a large whale, a puffer fish of sorts, and some sort of other humongous sea creature, the only difference was that it was made out of metal.

"What are we fighting here exactly?" Kouji asked. "I know that one is Seadramon and the other is Whamon but I have absolutely no clue what the rectangular prism or the spiky volley ball is supposed to be."

"I'm looking them up right now," Izzy stated from behind his laptop. "Well that's not good; apparently they're both Mega level Digimon. The puffer fish is Pukumon while the metal one goes by MetalPiranimon who is a natural carrier of the X-Antibody. And according to this, that's not a good thing for us."

Digital Analyzer: Pukumon is a Digimon mutation born from a computer virus made by a British hacker. Despite being small in size, he has the most rebellious personality amongst all Digimon in the Digital World. No matter what, Pukumon will pick a fight with any other Digimon by using his fists or his metal head made from Chronodigizoit.

Digital Analyzer: MetalPiranimon is a natural carrier of the X-Antibody. Most often, they travel in schools and bite into anything with their razor sharp teeth that trespasses into their territory, killing it immediately. Since his metal head is so heavy however, he must keep its balance with the weight it keeps attached to its tail fin.

"Such pleasant descriptions," Kouji muttered.

"I'm going to assume that the X-Antibody makes a Digimon stronger than it already is, right?" Yoshino asked. Izzy nodded in response. "Ugh, this is the worst. Lalamon and I will handle MetalPiranimon then, you guys figure out how to deal with the others."

Kouji looked over to Pukumon who seemed to be annoyingly taunting them into a fight. The Warrior of Light suddenly started thinking about Takuya and how he would always tease him until some unnecessary violence got involved. "Something about that cocky attitude really gets on my nerves," he grumbled. "I'll take on the other Mega but I might need some help."

"But we're going to need WarGrowlmon to take on Whamon and our Digimon can only go up to the Champion level," Izzy protested, referring to himself and Kari.

Kari looked over to Gatomon who nodded in consent to some sort of silent agreement. "Actually, Gatomon and I discovered a while ago that we can reach the Ultimate level on our own. It's even easier now with her tail ring. So we'll help Kouji out. Izzy, Kabuterimon should be enough to take down Seadramon on his own."

They all nodded once they had their designated assignments and their digivices began to glow.

"Tentomon Digivolve to… Kabuterimon!"

"Gatomon Digivolve to… Angewomon!"

"Guilmon Matrix Digivolve to… WarGrowlmon!"

"Execute Fusion Evolution… BeoWolfmon!"

"Lalamon Double Warp Digivolve to… Rosemon!" "Charge… DNA Burst Mode!" "Rosemon Burst Mode!"

The other DigiDestined took a moment to gawk at the white rose Digimon. "Burst Mode?"

"No time to explain, just focus on taking these guys down!" Yoshino instructed.

MetalPiranimon pushed himself out of the water and his razor-sharp teeth were coming up with the intention of ripping the flower fairy to shreds. "3D Razor!"

Rosemon wasn't even fazed as she used her thorn whip to wrap around the fish's muzzle, keeping his mouth tightly closed. No matter how hard the metallic sea creature struggle, he couldn't escape from his imprisonment. Rosemon pressed two fingers to her lips and blew a kiss, but it became a rather dangerous laser-blow kiss. "Kiss of Breath!"

"It doesn't look like she's going to run into any trouble," Takato muttered as he returned his focus to his own partner who was just trying to stand his ground as a geyser of water was blasted towards him. "I, on the other hand, may need some help. Don't worry WarGrowlmon! This should do it… Digi-Modify! WarGreymon's Brave Shield Activate!"

"Thanks, Takato," WarGrowlmon grunted as the hexagonal shield appeared before him. It blocked out Whamon's Blasting Spout attack. The shield vanished at the same time the water stopped pumping towards him. "Now it's my turn! Atomic Blasters!" The beams hit Whamon straight on.

While the android dinosaur was taking care of the aquatic mammal, the two bearers of light were having just a little more trouble. There was no denying how powerful Angewomon and BeoWolfmon were but Pukumon was just too small a target and he used the ocean to his advantage.

"There is no way I can hit him with my Celestial Arrow," Angewomon remarked.

"And no matter how fast my attacks are, I can't hit him if I can't see him," BeoWolfmon stated.

Kari only watched from afar, her eyes shifting left and right to see if she could find the puffer fish anywhere. "This is ridiculous, if this keeps up, it'll only end in stalemate," she muttered. "With our Digimon in the air and our enemy in the water, nothing will happen." She then noticed some movement in the water directly below BeoWolfmon. "Kouji, look out!"

"Huh?"

"Needle Squall!"

A shower of super-hard spines shot up from under the sea and towards both light attributed Digimon, sending them out of the sky and into the water.

"Ugh, I hate getting my wings wet," Angewomon groaned.

BeoWolfmon looked around but he couldn't see Pukumon anywhere. "And we still can't see that pest! Where the hell is he?"

"I'm closer than you think… Globefish Poison!"

The puffer fish leapt out of the water and aimed a punch right for the Fusion Warrior's face but Angewomon jumped in and took the hit instead. She wasn't going to be the only taking damage though, as she was sent flying backwards, she sent an arrow straight for Pukumon's skull. "Celestial Arrow!" The arrow got stuck in Pukumon's armor and he landed back into the water but not under the sea, he was too distracted by the projectile lodged in his cranium.

"Not so tough now, are you?" BeoWolfmon growled. "Frozen Hunter!" He raised his saber which formed a giant wolf made from light energy and then he launched it with a slash faster than the human, or Digimon, eye could see. Pukumon had no time to avoid the attack as it exploded on contact.

"It looks like we're all doing well" Yoshino nodded. She was proven wrong almost as soon as she said that.

"Kabuterimon!" Izzy exclaimed. He just watched as his partner got entangled with Seadramon's tail and then pulled under the water. "No! He can't breathe underwater!"

They could still hear Seadramon's voice from under the ocean's surface though. "Ice Blast!"

The area where Kabuterimon was pulled under froze up into solid ice as the redheaded Digidestined got increasingly worried for his partner. "Tentomon…" 'This isn't good. If he uses Electro Shocker then he'll just end up hurting the unaware humans playing in the water. That's why he won't attack.' Izzy squeezed his eyes shut as he tried to concentrate and formulate some sort of plan. "But what can I do about it?"

"Gomamon Digivolve to… Ikkakumon!"

Izzy opened his eyes just in time to see a white, furry walrus charge into the water. The redhead then turned around to see the partner of said walrus standing there. "Joe! I thought you were studying for a big exam tomorrow."

Joe shrugged. "Well, I got a signal on my digivice saying that a wild Digimon was nearby so I decided to follow it. Good thing I did, it looks like you needed some help."

"Yeah," Izzy nodded. "Thanks."

Ikkakumon, using his horn, tossed Seadramon out of the sea and into the sky. Both allies resurfaced, one flying, and the other floating.

"Shall we take him out together?" Ikkakumon inquired rhetorically.

"We shall," Kabuterimon answered. "Electro Shocker!"

"Harpoon Torpedo!"

Their partners cheered when Seadramon was defeated. "Yeah!"

The six of them packed up everything into the back of Yoshino's van along with four Digi-Eggs. By this time, the sun was already setting and a lot of people were getting ready to go back home, not knowing how close they had been to some deadly fights between otherworldly monsters.

"You guys were lucky," Joe stated as he closed his D-Terminal. "These guys were easy compared to some of the other Digimon the others faced."

"But what was all that about anyway?" Yoshino asked. "The one day we try to enjoy ourselves and we get attacked by vicious fish. Actually, that pretty much sums up my family vacation to Puerto Rico from a couple years ago."

Izzy looked over to Tentomon who was thanking Gomamon for saving him back there. "Whatever is going on, we should be a little more careful."

-X-

Well that was a close call for Tentomon but what about the other two groups? And what about the Tamers? How is Rika? And how will Henry explain the sudden appearance of his bruises? But the biggest question is how Yamaki is going cover this all up. Poor guy. Find out next time on Digimon: Children of the Present!
