Jack heard a knock at her door. She opened it
"Are you ready yet" Kasumi said smiling. She looked like a school girl excited for her first fieldtrip.
"Yea I guess" Jack said as she began to a gather her bags.
"You look like shit" Kasumi nicely pointed out
" I feel like shit. Yeah I couldn't sleep last night" Jack said plainly
"Really why"
"I don't know.." Jack said not wanting to tell Kasumi about the nightmare
"Nervous about meeting Shepards's child?" Kasumi smirked.
"No not really" Jack continued to gather her stuff simply ignoring Kasumi as she pressured her.
"Anything from Liara about Miranda"?
"Yea. Liara called me last night and told me that Miranda maybe have been taken into c-sec custody"
"We should check it out"
"I would love to Kasumi but we have to go" Jack said sarcastically.
"We have 15 to make to the ship"
"But Miranda…"
"Is gonna have to wait" Jack cut her off.
She would kill me if we dropped her little project just to save her ass.
"I don't know Jack, this seems wrong".
"She's a big girl Kasumi deal with it liara said she was looking into it anyways"
"I suppose. Ready?"
"As ready as ill ever be. Contact Garrus and tell him we are on our way"
"Hmm. When did you get to be so responsible"
"Since I got a job teaching brats" Jack followed Kasumi out carrying her bags.
"Say what you want but you enjoy that job" Kasumi teased.
Jack just shrugged. Hiding her feelings knowingly she loved bringing smiles to their faces and teaching them how to whoop ass.
Jack struggled with drowsiness and since they were on a time crunch she couldn't stop and get a coffee.
The duo made their way to the docking area to board the Turian Vessel.
