Author's Note: I decided to add a chapter for the Battle of the Five Armies movie. Surprise! Hope you like it.

Kili and Fili raced up the hill, Oin and Bofur trailing behind. They reached the top and stood at the gates. Smaug had torn the wall open as he exited for Laketown, but the city still looked majestic. The four took off again. Do they know we are alive? The unspoken question ran through all of their minds.

As they entered the city, their hearts sank. No one stood around waiting. As they called, their voices echoed in the hall, unanswered. Maybe Smaug had killed them before leaving. Maybe they were dead. They walked down a hall, looking for signs of former life, when they finally, and much to their relief heard a call.

"Wait!" It was Bilbo. "Wait!" They waited.

Bilbo warned them about the treasure room. He told them of Thorin's madness. The four carefully made their way in. They arrived at the edge of the path and then halted. Thorin stood amid a vast ocean of glimmering gold, not seeming to care about anything else in the world other than making sure he looked over every piece of enchanting gold. He looked up and saw them. No joy was written across his face over the return of his beloved nephews whom he had practically raised. As he tossed a ruby to Fili, Kili felt the familiar pang of a memory long ago. A memory he had forgotten until a few days past. Abandonment. Favoritism. All of this was from a time when he was in his twenties. He thought those days were past. As quickly as the thought came it went. The four went to meet the other dwarves. Brother (and in Bifur's case cousin) went to greet their respective relatives. This return was mostly a happy one. Kili and Fili smiled as they witnessed their friends reunited. If only their uncle was happy to see them.

Days passed in the mountain. Thorin was no better. The rest of the dwarves sat around, looking for the arkenstone they knew they could not find. Balin seemed to know where it was. Fili had noticed this and confided in Fili. The two agreed to pretend they noticed nothing.

Then came the treachery of Bilbo. He had the Arkenstone! When Thorin found out, he demanded that the company throw him over the wall. They had refused. Pulling Kili's arm, he asked again. Kili shook his head. Next he tried Fili. Same response. Chaos ensued when Thorin tried to do it himself. When Thorin let go for a minute, Bofur had told him to run. It was sad to see the hobbit go. Even if he had betrayed them, Thorin was not himself.

Now the were on Ravenhill. Fili was being dragged to the edge of a cleft. He looked at his uncle and prayed his brother was safe. He felt the sword on his back and then all he felt was falling. He saw his brother's shocked face. His eyes began to dim. He heard a yell that could only belong to his brother, and then nothing.

Kili did not remember what happened. He only knew his brother was dead. He would soon join him. He looked a Tauriel for the last time. Then he too felt a pain and was dropped. In his last moments, he clung unto his uncle's smiling face the day he had finished his studies, and Fili's never ending companionship. Then the world went dark. His worried were over.
