Cooking is all about Love. Chapter 11
Sodia left the room after placing the last report on her inspection on Flynn's desk. After closing the door, she sighed and walked away.
"I do what I should do. It is up to him now, to believe it or not." She wondered and shrugged.
She placed a hand under her chin and nodded, "I bet he will believe it. He must guess about it before."
"If it really true that he had guess it before then, why he didn't mention about it at all?"
"Whatever, it doesn't matter anymore." She sighed and groaned slightly, "May be I will miss Yuri's food later, why he is so good? Damn it!"
She forced a smile and nodded slightly, "I place my loyalty on your command, Commandant Flynn Scifo."
And goodbye my first love.
The orange haired knight closed the door.
Yuri casually relaxed on one of Rita's chairs while the mage was reading a book and the princess was collecting scattered books on the floor. The raven swordsman yawned and closed his eyes.
"Don't try to sleep here." Rita stated while making a notes from her reading.
"I'm not sleeping just taking a rest only." Yuri opened one of his eyes.
"Why don't you go upstairs? I mean Flynn's room. You always go there, right?" Rita flipped another pages and made another notes.
The swordsman closed his eyes again, "He is not there. I don't know where he is gone to."
"Ah, he told me yesterday, the empire knights and the council are holding a meeting today." Estelle explained while holding a few books in her arms.
"I'm glad that I quit knights." Yuri snorted and grinned. Too bad Flynn, you need handle those things.
"Yeah, it must be weird for you to go for a meeting and talk with a proper manner." Rita smirked and softly laughed. Estelle also chuckled softly.
"Shut up." Yuri quickly snapped, "Don't imagine things!"
"Whatever, Estelle can you stop keeping my books now?" Rita placed the notebook down onto her lap and looked at the princess.
"But it is so messy here."
"It is?"
"Yeah, look I just placing it follow the categories…"
"O-Oh thanks."
"It's okay, I like to do this."
"But Estelle, it is not nice if you are doing this…"
"What is the matter?
"Oh here comes Ristelle…"
"Yuri!" "S-Shut up!" Both Estelle and Rita shouted and blushed. Both girls quickly resumed their work ignoring the raven swordsman sly smirk.
Yuri looked out at the nearest window and shrugged. Wonder when Flynn will finish with the meeting.
Flynn slowly walked into his room and closed the door before released a deep sigh. He walked to his desk and sat down, after comfortable enough, he took a quick peek to the window.
"It is this late already. The meeting is sure taking a lot of time this time." He mumbled softly at the late evening view and shrugged on his chair.
His gaze then focused on a stack of papers at one corner of his desk. He picked up the papers and read the title.
"I see, so this is the last report from Sodia. She did well for her job." Flynn smiled and nodded slightly, proud with his second in command. He flipped the report and nodded at the main point at each pages. Suddenly, he stopped from flipping to another pages. There was something caught his attention.
New worker who is responsible with the commandant meals: Yuri Lowell
"Huh? What is this?" Flynn blinked and read that part repeatedly, "I suspected much at the beginning and it is true! No wonder the food…the food fit my taste perfectly."
Flynn quickly scanned the report and gritted his teeth when some part of the report fit well with the food and taste he felt for a few weeks ago. He placed the report on his desk and rested his chin on his intertwined hands.
"I wonder why Sodia didn't tell me this earlier and how Yuri is not in the kitchen when I'm going down on that day… I will figure it out later." Flynn blinked and glared to the report. "You better prepared well Yuri Lowell."
"Wait a moment; so that seafood stews…you are so dead Yuri!"
The commandant angrily groaned at the memories.
After a few moments of reading and writing report, there was a knock on his door. Flynn quickly answered the knock by opened the door and let a maid stepped into his room. As usual, the maid placed a tray of food for his dinner time. After thanking the maid and closed the door, Flynn walked to his desk and observed the food.
"I see croquettes for dinner today and some salad too. That is the best food he can make beside desserts." Flynn evilly smirked. "I think he will come for tonight. Let's see his reaction later."
Flynn was too engrossed with the report when the window suddenly opened and the raven swordsman jumped into the room.
"Hey Flynn…"
The commandant smirked a bit. So, he really comes.
"Stop using the window Yuri, when you can use the door…" He flatly stated while still writing.
Yuri casually walked around and stopped in front of Flynn's desk where the tray of dinner had placed. "I don't feel to, hey, you didn't touch your dinner."
Flynn stopped from his work and looked at the tray. "Ah, I will eat later when I'm done with this." He continued with his work. Let's see…
"You should not skip your meal time."
"Stop nagging me about when I'm taking my food."
"I'm not nagging, just informing only."
"Yeah, whatever." Flynn quickly replied without looking at the raven.
Yuri stared at the commandant as he got the cold reply. He slowly stepped nearer to the desk, "Hey Flynn," he eyed his childhood friend carefully, trying to detect any abnormalities.
"Yes?" Flynn was still writing something. His face expression was still serious and focused on the papers.
"Something wrong?"
"Huh? No," Flynn quickly replied and collecting the papers. "Finally, it's done." He whispered.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," Flynn looked at Yuri with bored gaze. I wonder why he didn't tell me…let's see who have higher endurance this time. I want to make him mad.
"Really?"
"Yuri…fine, I'm just a little bit tired and hungry…" Flynn quickly stopped from talking. Ops…
"That's way you should not skip the meal! You are the commandant!" Yuri snapped and sighed.
Flynn quickly pulled the tray and took one croquette, "I'm taking the food now! See?"
"Yeah, yeah…" Yuri eyed Flynn's movement warily.
"You are worst than Lady Estellise." Flynn stated and took a bite, he nodded slightly while munching and swallowed it. "This is good." He peeked at Yuri and found the raven sat down on his usual place.
"Shut up…I'm just being nice only." Yuri crossed his arms and shrugged.
"Huh nice, really nice." Flynn sarcastically replied and took another bite. This is really good…
Yuri slowly turned around and facing the commandant. He stared at Flynn and unknowingly smiled a bit.
Flynn noted Yuri's gaze and smile, quickly finishing the croquette in his hand. He then looked at the raven with a weird gaze. "Why are you staring like that?" I know the answer…
"Huh?" Yuri startled at the sudden attack from Flynn, quickly turned away. Since when I'm staring at Flynn? Damn it!
"You are staring at me for a while, Yuri." Flynn took the bowl of salad and mixed it with the fork. He smiled contently when the salad was mixed well. You are happy when see I'm taking you food, right, Yuri?
"I'm not staring at you, Flynn. I'm just looking at the food only." Yuri quickly made an excuse with scowl. I must be aware with my surrounding; Flynn may catch something if I'm not careful.
"Really? I believe that your gaze is on my face and you are smiling too." Flynn taunted and smirked when Yuri not looking.
"What? Am not! The hell I'm staring at you and smiling!" Yuri yelled and stood up. He panted slightly and quickly sat down again at the same spot. "I'm not…" He whispered. I'm smiling to Flynn? When?
"Relax Yuri, now it looks like you are the one with bad mood." Flynn took a forkful of salad.
"Yeah, yeah it's all thanks to your stupid deduction." Yuri shrugged and waved his hand.
"I'm just saying what I had seen and it is quite amusing I would say."
"Flynn, drop that topic already."
"Why? Are you embarrassed?"
"What? No way!"
Flynn looked away and smirked. He also chuckled a bit.
Yuri groaned and stood up. He walked to the window and looked at Flynn, "It seems that you are in better mood already, see you later."
"Going back already?"
"I might end up using you as my punching beg, better go away first before it become worst."
"Relax Yuri, it has been a long time since we having a talk like this."
"And I will end up lose at the end."
Flynn laughed and slowly relaxed; Yuri took a seat on the windowsill and looked at the former who continued eating the salad.
Flynn slowly placed the empty bowl down and contently sighed, "The food is so good."
"Glad you like it." Yuri softly spoke while staring outside.
"Huh?" Flynn turned and facing Yuri. Of course I like it Yuri. You are the best cook.
Yuri turned to Flynn, "Glad you done with it."
"I think I heard something else before that." Flynn stated and turned to his desk.
"Really?" Yuri turned to the outside and sighed softly. Man, this is getting hard, how comes I slip out something like that? Flynn must be guessing something later.
"I wonder who the new cook at the kitchen is. His foods are so good." Flynn leaned on his chair and stared to the ceiling.
"Hm?" Yuri tilted his head to Flynn's direction.
The commandant pulled a stack of papers and flipped it. "You know, Sodia reported about a new cook at the kitchen and this person is in charge with my meals but there is no name in her report."
"Then?" Yuri had cross-legged on the windowsill while eyeing Flynn's movement. He rested both of his hands on respected knees and waited for Flynn's next statement.
"I kind of wonder who is the person and you know what Yuri? I guess it was you but you are not right?" Flynn turned to Yuri and smiled.
Yuri stiffened but quickly covering himself by moving a bit on the windowsill. I should go now!
"Yeah…Flynn…I think I should go now, I forgot to give Repede his food. See ya later." Yuri quickly jumped out leaving Flynn alone.
"You should use the door Yuri!" Flynn shouted.
Yuri landed on the ground with Flynn's shouting. He sighed and walked down to lower quarter.
"That was dangerous. If he press some more, I might telling him everything." Yuri laughed softly, "I want him to figure it out and he held it back. I don't want to lie on him too…" He looked at the dark sky and shrugged, "What I'm really hoping for actually?"
Flynn smirked after closing the windows and sat down.
"I want to play with him a bit…"
The commandant chuckled softly before cleaning his desk and ready for tomorrow.
What Flynn will do later? See in the next chapter!
