Chapter 12: Zenma the Assassin!

"Huff, huff!" two individuals frantically ran through a hollow street, seemingly trying to escape from something. But behind them walked an ominous shadow. "P….please! Spare me, I….I don't want to die!" the man desperately pleaded. "T…that's right! We didn't mean to do what we did!" another individual stated as the alleyway was too dark to truly see whether it was a human or Digimon. In response a powerful blast was shot at the duo, completely eradicating the duo where they stood. In the ruined alleyway a man stood alone with a strange creature.

Narration: After escaping the Digi Prison and attaining the second Divinity Crystal, Yuzen and the others have at long last made it to Romain City.

"We've finally made it!" Dodecamon happily exclaimed. "Yeah, Romain City!" Usami gleefully added along as she and the rodent-like Digimon rejoiced at the fact that the group had finally arrived to the destination that they struggled so hard to reach. "Hehe, no need to get so excited." Blastermon laughed. "Sheesh, what's wrong with you two? I already got the Divinity Crystal that was once located here so there's no real reason to even be remotely eager to explore this city." Yuzen bleakly told the silver-haired lass and the Digital Monster.

The sunglasses wearing boy sported a gray t-shirt along with violet-colored cargo pants. Along with that he wore a blue wristband on his right arm and had black and white colored sneakers.

"You know there's a limit to how much of a buzzkill a person should be. But that doesn't stop you, does it?" Dodecamon stated in annoyance to the light blue-haired individual's bleak attitude. "Shut up." Yuzen retorted. "So what should we do?" Usami inquired while leaning up to the sunglasses wearing lad. "C….can you back off?" Yuzen awkwardly asked to the silver-haired girl. "Now's not the time for flirting. We should make preparations so we can enter the city." Blastermon declared to the others.

"Yeah, we still don't know all too well what kind of place Romain City is so let's hope for the best possible scenario and assume this is a human dominated city." Dodecamon added along while Blastermon leaped into Usami's bag. "So what about you?" Yuzen queried to the rodent-like Digimon. "I guess I'll go into that backpack of yours." Dodecamon replied. "If you say so." Yuzen indifferently stated in response as the cool gray colored Digimon leaped into the light blue-haired boy's backpack.

"Let's go." Yuzen declared while he and Usami ventured towards the city gates.

"If you see that the guards are Digimon than this place is probably controlled by Digimon and we'll need to change our approach but if they're human guards then we'll proceed as we currently are." Yuzen told the silver-haired girl. "Yeah, I understand." Usami responded while the duo nearly arrived at the city gates. The duo was then astonished to see that there were two human guards in front of the city gates. "So this really is a human controlled city." Yuzen thought to himself as he and Usami approached the gates.

"Who are you?" one of the guards inquired. "We're tourists and we were hoping to enter the city to explore the sites." Usami replied.

"Show some identification." the other guard demanded to the traveling duo. "Um….none of us actually have any IDs." Usami stated in response. "Then you cannot proceed!" the guard declared. "Humans must show identification to enter! Only Digimon can enter without any proper identification." the other guard stated. "Damn it, so we would have been better off going in with the Digimon." Yuzen muttered to himself as he cursed their misfortune. "So what do we do now?" Usami whispered to the sunglasses wearing individual but before he could answer the security guards had received a phone call.

"What is it, sir?" the security guard inquired as Yuzen and Usami looked on in confusion.

"Huh? But sir...I understand." the security guard declared as the call had come to an end. "You may proceed." the guard suddenly declared to Yuzen and Usami's astonishment. "…Alright, thank you very much." Usami thanked the guards as she and Yuzen proceeded. The city gate had then opened as the duo looked on in astonishment at the large city, which far surpassed the previous locations they had ventured too in terms of appeal and technological advancement.

"This place is amazing." Usami expressed in awe while she looked all over the city. "It certainly is incredible to see such a prosperous place in spite of the Digi Kingdom's tyranny." Blastermon mumbled while peeking out of the silver-haired lass' bag. "This is nothing like Mirai Village or any of the places that I went to before." Yuzen muttered to himself as he looked on in disbelief at how distinct Romain City was in comparison to the more rundown places he had become so accustomed to.

"This is strange, all of the places we visited before were so run down and poor but why not this place?" Dodecamon wondered to itself as it momentarily looked out of Yuzen's backpack.

Elsewhere in an undisclosed location a blonde and blue-haired man sat in a chair. The man proceeded to remove his shirt and revealed his muscular physic while looking at a report. "So Wardenmon wants you to take care of escaped fugitives from the Digi Prison?" a creature inquired while the man glared at the report, which revealed a picture of Yuzen and Dodecamon, before going on to crumple up the sheet. "Our next target is confirmed. The operation begins." the man declared. "Why would you follow that Wardenmon's orders?" the creature inquired. "I can care less about what that parasite wants. I'm doing this for my own reasons and nothing more." the blonde and blue-haired man stated in response to the mysterious being while he proceeded to rise up from his seat. "Is that why you allowed them to enter the city?" the creature asked.

"Yeah, something along those lines." the man nonchalantly replied. "Now, let's go." the man coldly declared.

"This place is weird." Yuzen expressed while looking all over the city.

"It's only because you've probably never been to a place like this. I'm sure you'll get used to it after a while." Usami stated to the light blue-haired individual. "No, it's not that. There's just something off about this city." Yuzen replied, feeling uncertain due to their lack of knowledge on Romain City. "Don't worry about it there's nothing wr-…." Usami and Yuzen suddenly stopped as they looked on ahead and noticed two Grizzlymon exiting a store.

"D….Digimon?" Yuzen uttered in astonishment. "Why are Digimon out here in the open?" Usami wondered as an Apemon leaped from rooftop to rooftop and various other Digimon were shown walking through the streets. "What is going on? I realize that the guards had stated that Digimon could enter the city but why are they out here in the open and more specifically why is it that the humans are so nonchalant about them?" Blastermon wondered while it momentarily popped its head out of its companion's bag.

"I knew it! There was something wrong with this city!" Dodecamon exclaimed inside of Yuzen's bag as Yuzen angrily clenched his fists.

"Calm down, we don't know the situation so attacking could put us in serious trouble." Usami whispered to the sunglasses wearing lad. "Come on. We'll find a place where we can get out some more information on this city." Usami told her companion. "Along with that, considering there is no reason to hide. We should travel as a group." Blastermon added along. "…..Fine." Yuzen begrudgingly replied as the group left the scene.

"Bone Cudgel!" Ogremon exclaimed as it destroyed a boulder. "Careful, you almost destroyed the treasure." Leomon told the ogre-like Digimon. "I found it, didn't I?" Ogremon boastfully inquired while Leomon opened up the treasure chest, which revealed a large pearl embedded diamond. "We've got a lot of time to make up for because of that unfortunate stay in the Digi Prison." Leomon declared. "I suppose so, but you guys ain't got a chance in getting more treasure than us." Tyrannomon arrogantly declared as it and Monochromon appeared before the duo.

"Our extended alliance with each other almost made me forget the fact that we were competing treasure hunters." Monochromon admitted to the King of Beasts and Digimon Hunter. "Yeah and I recall that we were stomping you guys before the punk human and his dork Digimon showed up." Ogremon retorted. "You wish. We were the ones in the lead last time!" Tyrannomon exclaimed in response as the duo began to butt heads. "Leomon, isn't Romain City not too far from this location?" Monochromon inquired to the lion-like Digimon.

"Yeah, I suppose that it is." Leomon nonchalantly replied. "Do you two plan on venturing out to that location?" the dinosaur-like Digimon queried.

"Of course! We'll go anywhere for the sake of acquiring treasure!" Ogremon proudly declared. "I'd actually prefer to stay away from that location." Leomon answered.

"Heh, so much for going anywhere." Tyrannomon laughed. "What's with that attitude? Why wouldn't you want to go to Romain City?" Ogremon asked in confusion. "I presume it has something to do with the Digimon Assassin." Monochromon declared to the ogre-like Digimon's confusion. "Digimon Assassin?" Tyrannomon reiterated while Ogremon looked on. "Yeah, that's right. As far as I'm concerned I'd rather stay away from that man…..no that monster." Leomon declared to the others. "Man? Monster? Just what the hell is he?" Ogremon asked. "I'm not sure, there are various rumors surrounding his existence." Monochromon replied.

"The only fact is that Romain City is his domain and it would be wise to avoid that location entirely." Leomon added along.

"He may be the Digimon Assassin but I'm the Digimon Hunter, so I'm sure I'd clobber him!" Ogremon confidently declared while clutching its bone club. "Impossible, that guy is at the very least far more powerful than Wardenmon is and that's just going off of the assumption that he might not be as powerful as the rumors say he is." Leomon declared. "I hate to admit it but that Wardenmon-jackass was pretty powerful an opponent and if this Digimon Assassin guy makes him look like a joke than I suppose we're just better off avoiding him completely and just going on to hone our own skills in the meanwhile." Tyrannomon replied.

"We? Our alliance was only temporary!" Ogremon retorted. "No, Tyrannomon has a point. It would benefit us all if we just stuck together and moved out as a group rather than as individual pairs." Leomon told its partner. "After breaking out of the Digi Prison it's only a matter of time until we become wanted across the region and if that happens than rebels, enemy treasure hunters and even the Digi Kingdom will come hunting us down." Monochromon added along.

"But we escaped the prison a few days ago, so shouldn't we have gotten wanted posters by now?" Ogremon inquired. "We did thrash the place pretty good so they probably weren't able to send out the information and create them as fast as they usually did." Tyrannomon stated to the Digimon Hunter. "Either that or the punk and his Digimon sidekick ended up taking most of the blame for the escape." Leomon added along. "I suppose it would be most fortunate for us if he did take the fall." Monochromon admitted.

"Hey, but I still have to give him a thrashing for humiliating us last time!" Ogremon exclaimed in anger. "It's out of our hands. If anything we should probably consider it a blessing in disguise that he was around to fight Wardenmon in our stead." Leomon stated to the ogre-like Digimon. "It would be wise to lay low for the time being." Monochromon added along. "To hell with that! Let's reveal ourselves and annihilate our enemies with our very own hands!" Ogremon declared. "You're an idiot." Tyrannomon stated in response.

"Doing that would incur the wrath of the Digi Kingdom and if that is the case, we'd end up in the same situation as the human trash." Monochromon declared to the Digimon Hunter.

"As powerful as we may be, I'm pretty sure that for the time being we are no match for even the Kings of the Digi Kingdom." Leomon stated to its partner.

"Kings?" Ogremon mumbled. "There are a whole lot of enemies out there that would be better off not being provoked." Monochromon declared to the others.

"*sigh* This is going to be really annoying." Dodecamon expressed while sitting on the floor. "We should at least assume the best possible scenario rather than jumping to a pessimistic conclusion." Blastermon declared while hopping out of Usami's bag. "What's there to assume? It's already obvious that this is a lowly city!" Yuzen exclaimed. "Hey, hey, don't say that so loud! Do you want to get us run out of town!?" Dodecamon shouted in response. "Both of you quiet down, we're at risk of attracting unwanted attention." Blastermon whispered to the boisterous duo.

"Actually now that I think about it, I think I've heard of certain situations where humans can live under the rule of the Digi Kingdom." Usami stated to her companions. "Living under the Digi Kingdom?" Dodecamon muttered. "That's ridiculous! I'd rather die than live like that." Yuzen added along. "I'm not sure if that's the situation here but I think there's a possibility that there's something going on in this place to prevent it from being like all the other places we visited." Usami replied to the light blue-haired lad and the rodent-like Digimon.

"That's true. Though it's weird how smart you are about this." Dodecamon laughed. "I'm not really being smart about it, it's just a guess." Usami chuckled in response. "I've had enough of this place." Yuzen declared.

"Let's go." the sunglasses wearing lad announced to the others, much to their bewilderment. "Eh? But we've only been here for an hour and a half." Blastermon stated to the boy. "I don't care. Just the thought of what's going on in this place is pissing me off." Yuzen stubbornly replied. "But if something is going on than shouldn't we stick around and stop it?" Dodecamon inquired. "No, whatever it is we'd be better off leaving." Yuzen responded.

"I've got a bad feeling about this place." Yuzen thought to himself as he concealed his worries from the others.

But before the group could even depart, an alarm rang across the entire city. "W….what's going on?" Usami wondered while a red light flashed throughout the streets. In spite of this, the Digimon and humans calmly went about with their activities before casually ceasing what they were doing and entering the buildings. "Hey, what are these people doing? W….what's going on?" Dodecamon queried in bewilderment as the people just walked past them without even acknowledging them. "Um, excuse me-…." Usami attempted to talk to some of the citizens to no avail.

Suddenly without warning, both Usami and Blastermon were swept away by the various citizens as Yuzen and Dodecamon were forced away in the opposite direction. "Hey, what the hell are you idiots doing!?" Yuzen asked in annoyance at the various people, who did not even bother to acknowledge his protests. "What is going on?" Usami wondered as she attempted to break out of the crowd to no avail. "I don't see Dodecamon or the others!" Blastermon exclaimed to its partner. "Let go of us, damn it!" Dodecamon shouted as the crowd suddenly stopped in what appeared to be the center of the city. "Huh? Why'd they stop so suddenly?" Dodecamon wondered. "You idiots have a whole lot of nerve." Yuzen stated to the citizens who remained silent.

"Are you listening, hey!?" Yuzen began to shake one of the people violently in annoyance at their lack of response.

"You should be aware that those 'people' are nothing more than drones." a voice suddenly declared while Yuzen looked on to see that what he believed to be a human was no more than a robot.

"Drones?" Dodecamon reiterated in confusion as the various drones fell to the floor. "Why were those people drones and more importantly, who's there!?" Yuzen called out, demanding the person that he previously heard showed themselves. The light blue-haired boy and rodent-like Digimon looked up at a tower that was located at the center of the town and spotted an individual standing atop of it. "What in the world." Yuzen mumbled to himself in confusion as the man leaped off of the tower. "Is he insane!?" Dodecamon exclaimed in astonishment while the man used a glider and proceeded to land perfectly on his feet.

"Who are you?" Yuzen asked to the man.

He had spiky blonde hair and blue colored bangs along with turquoise colored eyes. His attire consisted of an indigo colored cloak that had white trimmings and a golden colored collar and along with that the cloak had a white colored inside and he also sported a black form fitting shirt underneath the jacket. His pants were of a black color and he wore blue colored shoes. Along with that the man had a blue muffler which he had wrapped around his neck. "Answer me! Who the hell are you?" Yuzen demanded as he became annoyed at the blonde and blue-haired man's lack of response.

"I'm the phantom that purges this world of its worthless souls. But you can just address me as the Digimon Assassin." the man coldly declared to the duo. "D…Digimon Assassin?" Dodecamon reiterated in astonishment as the mercenary coldly glared at the duo.

"…..We have to escape, NOW!" Yuzen suddenly shouted to Dodecamon's astonishment.

"What are you saying? What's wrong?" Dodecamon inquired in bewilderment at the light blue-haired lad's sudden shift in attitude. "This isn't someone we should try and fight against! Now hurry up!" Yuzen retorted to the rodent-like creature. "It's pointless." the Digimon Assassin declared to the duo. "As soon as you set foot in this city, you sealed your fates." the man added along. "What are you talking about?" Dodecamon asked in response. "You two are the criminals who escaped from the Digi Prison, right?" the man queried, surprising both Yuzen and Dodecamon.

"What do you know?" Yuzen inquired in response to the man's statement. "This city is my domain. In no way was it a coincidence that you two ended up isolated in this area without anyone to assist you." the man replied.

"You can try and escape but I'll hunt you down wherever you go." the blonde and blue-haired individual added along as Yuzen and Dodecamon remained where they were. "W…..we have no choice." Yuzen muttered as he appeared to be shaking in fear. "Yuzen." Dodecamon muttered while looking on at its partner. "This guy could be the most powerful opponent that I….no...we have ever fought against. If we can't defeat him here and now than we have no future." Yuzen declared.

"I have to hand it to you. You are pretty knowledgeable for a criminal. But if you won't come to me than I suppose I'll attack first." the mercenary declared while revealing a yellow, blue and black colored gauntlet under his sleeve. From the gauntlet emerged a touchpad-like device, it was of a yellow color scheme and mostly had black markings over it with slight blue outlines. "A Digivice!?" Dodecamon exclaimed in astonishment as the assassin touched the device and activated it.

In response the device shifted and acquired blade-like extensions at the tips and an extra board on the side of it while also revealing a strange marking in the center of its backing. The Digimon Assassin's Digivice proceeded to exert a bright yellow light and from it appeared a strange creature. It was a bipedal wyvern and dragon-like creature and it had a yellow scaled body with blue eyes and blue and black colored markings all over its body. The creature had a spiked tail along with two black wings on its back. Its arms had yellow and black colored scales and it had three large claws on its hands and feet. Finally it had a marking identical to the one on its partner's Digivice on its chest. "What is that?" Yuzen muttered in astonishment.

"Wyrumon, attack." the man calmly declared. "With pleasure." Wyrumon retorted as its eyes glowed and an orb of energy appeared before it. "Dragon's Wrath!" Wyrumon exclaimed as it shot an energy bullet at the duo.

"Get out of the way!" Dodecamon quickly shouted while pushing the stunned Yuzen out of the way. The energy bullet eventually formed into a dragon-like shape and it proceeded to destroy an entire building. "I…..it blew up that building as if it were nothing." Yuzen mumbled in disbelief. "Damn it, we really don't have a choice." Dodecamon grumbled in annoyance. "Hey, hurry up and Digivolve me!" Dodecamon declared. "Y….yeah!" Yuzen replied while pulling out their Digivice, which proceeded to intrigue the Digimon Assassin.

"Let's settle this! Divinity Digivolution: Flame Form!" Yuzen exclaimed as Dodecamon began to glow a red-orange color. "Show yourself! Flame Form!" Yuzen exclaimed while from an aura of flames appeared the evolved Dodecamon. "Divinity Digivolution? So that's how it is." the assassin thought to himself as he proceeded to let out a slight smirk. "Fire Body!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed while its body was encased in red flames and it charged at the dragon-like creature. "Wyvern Shield!" Wyrumon declared while the scales on its wings strengthened and it used it to block Dodecamon's attack. "Don't stop yet! These guys are out to kill us so show them no mercy!" Yuzen shouted to Flame Dodecamon.

"Explosive Wave!" Flame Dodecamon shouted while it waved its tail in the direction of the dragon-like Digimon, who was engulfed in a burst of flames.

But almost instantly it flexed its arms and powered out of the flames. "K….keep it up!" Yuzen hesitantly shouted. "Destructive Flameshot!" Flame Dodecamon declared while it shot out a stream of red flames at its overwhelming opponent. "Claw of the Dragon!" Wyrumon exclaimed while striking away the attack with ease as Yuzen looked on in dismay.

"Darn it, where are Dodecamon and the others?" Usami wondered in concern for her companions. "Why would drones have been used to separate us? More importantly what in the world is going on in this city?" Blastermon queried while it observed the drones. "We have to go and find them!" Usami declared. "We should be cautious. Otherwise we may end up being caught off guard again." the beaver-like Digimon stated to its silver-haired companion. "Yeah, I understand. Come on!" Usami declared while she and Blastermon departed to search for their missing companions. "Everyone, be safe." Usami thought to herself.

"They keep on deflecting all of our attacks. If this keeps up than we'll-….." Yuzen begrudgingly muttered to himself.

"What the hell do you want from us!?" Yuzen shouted to the blonde and blue-haired man. "Why are you doing all of this just to fight us?" the light blue-haired boy added along. "I suppose that there is no harm in telling you. You see, a few days ago Wardenmon had contacted me." the Digimon Assassin declared to Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon's astonishment. "He informed me about a group of criminals that had escaped the Digi Prison, in particular he wanted me to personally take out two specific criminals." the mercenary smirked as the duo came to a realization.

"I see, so it was that warden-bastard that sent you to attack us." Flame Dodecamon declared.

"No, I personally couldn't care less for what that fool wants. I am doing this for my own reasons." the man replied to the Digivolved Flame Digimon. "And what exactly are your motives?" Yuzen asked in anger while the man let out another smirk. "I do this simply for the satisfaction of eradicating trash like you." the Digimon Assassin wickedly replied to Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon's disgust. "If you have a connection to the Digi Prison than that means that you're working with the Digi Kingdom too, doesn't it!?" Dodecamon exclaimed. "I suppose so." the man nonchalantly answered. "You bastard! Why are you working for the Digi Kingdom? Don't you know what they've done to this world!? All the innocent humans that they've killed!? All of the suffering that they caused!?" Yuzen furiously yelled while the Digimon Assassin glared at him in response.

"Are you guys really selfish enough to have sold out your own kind!?" Flame Dodecamon added along.

"Selfishness is necessary to exist in a world like this." Wyrumon declared in response. "It should be obvious enough just from observation of this city's condition." the Mystic Digimon added along.

"What do you mean?" Dodecamon queried in response. "This city is one of the many to have given in to the Digi Kingdom's desires and directly given them all available resources." Wyrumon answered. "As opposed to all of those humans who refused to cooperate and as a result were annihilated, the humans of this city gave up their pride and individuality to live under the control of the Digi Kingdom." the blonde and blue-haired man added along while Yuzen remained silent. "They realized how meaningless a fight against the absolute might of the Digi Kingdom was and spared themselves the humiliation and agony of defeat and death by becoming servants to their desires." the Digimon Assassin declared while Yuzen began to violently shake. "That's why-….." "SHUT UP!" Yuzen explosively exclaimed as he cut off the mercenary.

"I knew it, this place really was nothing more than lowly trash heap. To think that despicable scum like you existed." Yuzen muttered.

"How can giving up your individuality and selling out your race be considered living!? You cowards just forfeited your lives because you were too weak to even try and fight back! You all considered it your own choice but it's because you had no pride in yourselves that you actually believed that giving in to the demands of a so called absolute force was enforcing your survival. The truth is that all of you are nothing but scum!" Yuzen shouted to the assassin.

"I wouldn't expect a criminal like you to understand. After all, you only speak so freely because you're naïve." the mercenary calmly replied to his opponent.

"I can already see it through your eyes. You haven't even begun to understand just how big of a conflict you are throwing yourself into." the man added along. "Tch, Dodecamon finish them off!" Yuzen demanded in a rage. "Explosive Burning Shot!" Flame Dodecamon shouted while its arms were engulfed in flames as it wildly flung them and it released two swirling blasts of golden red flames. "Pathetic." Wyrumon expressed in indifference while blitzing past the golden flames and appearing behind of the Divinity Digivolved Digimon. It then proceeded to smash Flame Dodecamon into the ground with such force that the ground wildly shook for a moment.

"Impossible." Yuzen muttered in astonishment. "Wyrumon, De-Digivolution!" the Digimon Assassin suddenly declared to both Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon's astonishment as his Digivice emitted a blue light and Wyrumon emitted a similar blue glow. "D….De-Digivolution?" Yuzen reiterated in astonishment. The light then faded and in place of Wyrumon was a smaller blue colored wyvern-like creature with yellow scales, black eyes and markings around its wings, feet and tail. Unlike its previous form it no longer had arms and instead of a spiked tail it now had a black barbed tail. Along with that it had the same marking on its chest that Wyrumon had. "W-what happened?" Dodecamon mumbled.

"Wyrumon, reverted into its Wyvermon form." the assassin stated in response.

"Digimon have six forms, which consist of the Fresh, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and the Mega forms." the mercenary told the duo. "Just like what Roseo said." Yuzen thought to himself.

"Wyrumon is the Champion form while Wyvermon is the Rookie form." the man added along. "Why would you De-Digivolve your Digimon?" Yuzen asked while the blonde and blue-haired individual simply smirked while holding out a blue crystal-like egg with white trimmings and two vertical spikes protruding from the edges. "I….it can't be…." Yuzen muttered in disbelief. "There's no way!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed.

"Wyvermon, Armor Digivolution!" the Digimon Assassin declared as the egg-like orb began to emit a crystal blue glow and Wyvermon was encased in a crystal blue light.

"Digi-Armor Energize!" the man exclaimed while Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon looked on in horror. The crystal blue light faded and Wyvermon had transformed into a new creature. It was now larger and bore resemblance to Wyrumon. The new creature's body was covered in crystal armor with white trimmings, similar to the egg-like orb. It had regained its arms, which were encased in the armor and its tail now had an axe-like tip which was also made of the same material as the armor.

"It's just like what Kizkin and Kamaimon did before." Flame Dodecamon mumbled.

"Show them your power, CrystalWyrumon." the mercenary declared while the Armor Digivolved Mystic Digimon's right arm increased in mass as it charged at the duo. "Get out of the way!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed while it grabbed Yuzen and leaped out of the way. CrystalWyrumon proceeded with its attack and created a large crater in the floor. "That was close." the Divinity Digivolved Digimon expressed in relief. "Is that so?" a voice inquired while behind of Flame Dodecamon, CrystalWyrumon appeared. "Wha-…..GAH!" the Digimon exclaimed as it and Yuzen were smashed into a building. "D…..damn it! What is up with this guy?" Flame Dodecamon queried in pain while it and Yuzen emerged from the rubble. "We can't keep on like this. If we lose, if we lose…..!" Yuzen exclaimed. "Crystal Shot!" CrystalWyrumon shouted as it unleashed multiple sharp projectiles at the duo. "Fire Body!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed in response while rushing right into the projectiles. "You idiot, why are you taking them head on!?" Yuzen asked in response to Flame Dodecamon's head-on approach.

"If I don't take these risks than our journey will end here!" Flame Dodecamon stated in response while Yuzen speechlessly looked on.

CrystalWyrumon then proceeded to kick the Flame Form Dodecamon in the gut before roundhouse kicking it into a nearby store.

"Explosive Burning Shot!" the fire attribute Digimon shouted while it placed both of its arms forward while it then clapped them together. Its arms where engulfed in golden flames while it charged right through the Armor Digivolved Digimon and struck it with its powerful attack, causing a massive explosion. From the smoke appeared Wyvermon, who was revealed to have reverted back into its Rookie form, while the mercenary was shown with the egg-like orb once more.

"Yes, it looks like we forced them back into their previous form. Now we can finish them!" Flame Dodecamon eagerly declared. "Not exactly." Yuzen muttered in anger at the Digimon Assassin's nonchalant expression.

"What's with this guy? He can use base Digivolution like that girl and he can even use Armor Digivolution like Shun." Yuzen thought to himself. "He can use both so easily and yet he doesn't even look like he's remotely exhausted." the light blue-haired lad nervously thought to himself while pondering on about their opponent's overwhelming abilities.

"Biomerge." the Digimon Assassin stoically declared with a smirk. "What?" Yuzen inquired in bewilderment.

"Up until now I've shown you the regular Digivolution and Armor Digivolution methods but….." "I….impossible." Flame Dodecamon mumbled in terror.

"Damn it!" Leomon suddenly exclaimed. "What is it?" Ogremon inquired to the King of Beasts. "We have to go to Romain City!?" the Animal Digimon declared in response, much to the astonishment of the others. "Why would we have to go there?" Tyrannomon asked. "Back when we escaped the Digi Prison I noticed the road it was on would lead a person to Romain City." Leomon replied. "What does that have to do with anything?" Ogremon asked. "Now I understand, the punk kid and his Digimon might have ventured out there!" Monochromon declared. "Yeah, otherwise if that had not been the case than we would have encountered him at some point over the last few days." Leomon urgently replied to the dinosaur-like Digimon. "The Digimon Assassin resides in that city and there's no doubt that Wardenmon had informed someone about what occurred in the prison escape. That kid is in grave danger!" the King of Beasts added along. "We have to hurry, otherwise he'll get killed!" Ogremon declared. "Like hell I'll let that happen, only we are allowed to defeat him!" Tyrannomon added along as the quartet urgently moved out.

"I suppose I will show you one last Digivolution before I put an end to your futile struggle." the assassin declared.

"Wyvermon, Biomerge Digivolution!" the Digimon Assassin exclaimed while pressing his Digivice against the Mystic Digimon. A bright yellow light shined and the man's body strangely began to be absorbed into Wyvermon's body. "W…..what in the world!?" Dodecamon exclaimed in astonishment at what was occurring while a white orb appeared around of the Mystic Digimon. "A human fusing with a Digimon?" an utterly bewildered Yuzen mumbled while looking on as the orb dispersed and Wyvermon once again transformed. It was a bulky bipedal creature with blue colored scales and it had a black mask-like armor that covered a majority of its face. It had large fangs and a pointed blade extending from its chin with menacing red eyes. Along with that its arms and grown considerably and its overall body had a more mechanical appearance compared to the previous forms. It had golden yellow and black colored armor on its arms and legs and its body was covered with black and white colored marks with its having two pairs of wings as opposed to the single pair it previously had and a larger tail with a maze-like tip.

"Wyrumon, Biomerge evolve to, HyperWyrumon." the assassin calmly declared while appearing in a bubble of light that appeared to be within the newly Digivolved Digimon, noticeably missing his clothing.

"What the hell happened to your partner!?" Yuzen asked. "Biomerge Digivolution, it's a method where the human partner merges their body into their Digimon's and as a result causes them to ascend straight to the Mega form." HyperWyrumon answered while glaring at the duo. "Fire Body!" Flame Dodecamon exclaimed while it suddenly charged at its opponent. In response HyperWyrumon simply smacked the Divinity Digivolved Digimon aside with its tail. "Explosive Wave!" the Digimon shouted while attacking once more. HyperWyrumon held its hand up and simply stopped the explosion in its arms, remaining unfazed. "W-we…..can't win." Yuzen thought to himself while helplessly looking on as elsewhere Usami and Blastermon continued to run through the city. "We can't lose, we…..we have to stop the Digi Kingdom!" Flame Dodecamon desperately thought to itself.

"Time for the finish." the mercenary declared. "My thoughts exactly." the Ultimate Mystic Digimon stated while spreading out its wings.

"EXPLOSIVE BURNING SHOT!" Flame Dodecamon shouted while unleashing one last attack. "Lightning Stream of Annihilation!" HyperWyrumon exclaimed as it was encased in black, blue and yellow colored electricity before a clear orb appeared in front of its body and it shot out a massive beam at the duo. The two attacks clashed as in almost an instant the overwhelming lightning stream annihilated Flame Dodecamon's last attack and proceeded to blast both Yuzen and Flame Dodecamon. "GAHH!" the duo shouted as they were blown away.

As the smoke cleared the Digimon Assassin appeared alongside of Wyvermon, who had reverted from its previous form. "Shall we finish them, Zenma?" Wyvermon inquired to the man, who walked over to the unconscious Yuzen and proceeded to pick him up. He then proceeded to take the Digivice from the light blue-haired lad and went on to unceremoniously drop the lad onto the ground. "No, the Digimon is too valuable to kill." Zenma declared while looking down on the unconscious Dodecamon. "I…..I'm not done yet." Dodecamon weakly uttered after temporarily awakening only to once more lose consciousness. "We'll turn it in to the Digi Kingdom." Zenma told his partner, who proceeded to pick up the fallen rodent-like Digimon. "It was a valiant fight no matter how inferior of a duo you two were. But in the end, you lose." Zenma coldly declared while beginning to walk away. "By the way, you should be aware. I can use the six major methods of Digivolution, so I still had three other Digivolution methods that I didn't get to use against you." the Digimon Assassin stated to the fallen Yuzen before walking away once more, having utterly bested the young lad and successfully captured both the Digivice and Dodecamon.

Narration: Absolute defeat, Yuzen and Dodecamon have fallen at the hands of the Digimon Assassin, Zenma, and Wyvermon. What awaits Yuzen and the others now as the worst possible crisis seems to have befallen them all?

Major Events (11/20/9996): Yuzen and the others arrive at Romain City.

Yuzen and Dodecamon meet Zenma, a Digimon Assassin who works with the Digi Kingdom.

Romain City is revealed to be under the influence of the Digi Kingdom.

Zenma is revealed to utilize various Digivolution methods, in particular the six main methods of Digivolution.

Biomerge Digivolution and De-Digivolution are introduced.

Yuzen and Dodecamon battle Zenma and Wyvermon but are defeated.

Zenma steals Yuzen's Digivice and kidnaps Dodecamon, with the intention to turn both in to the Digi Kingdom.
