Chapter 12

Expect The Unexpecting

...four-o'-clock A.M... one hour till war...

Krystal was fast asleep in her hammock bed. Her hammock bed was floating above the ground level, by just a few hoofs up in the air. Out side was a shiny, silver shell, covering the bottom parts of the hammock, and in her bed was a dark blue pillow and blanked, that made Krystal look all snugged, and full of comfort. Krystal was only breathing slowly, until... (Boom)... A loud noise, from a far distance, woke Krystal up, lightly. She rubbed her eyes, then realized something. She had forgot something, that was really important, but what was it? (Boom)... This time another loud noise was made, and Krystal can tell that it sounded like something that was heavy enough, to sound like some sort of impact of some kind. Krystal then remembered, suddenly! She hopped off her hammock, leaving it to bob a few times, and then she paced quickly to a table in her tent. On the table, there were a few equipments, such as a computer, weapons, and some random tablets. But out of all these equipments, only one came into Krystal's view. The only thing on that was on table, that stood out, was a grey, silver box. Krystal opened the box, quickly, and was stunned, of what she had almost forgot. In the box, were six, silver rings. Each of them looked really slick, and thin, making them look very fragile. "Shit, I for got to give this to Captain Shinning armor, Twilight, and their princesses!" cursed Krystal. (Boom)... Another impact sounded, but this one sounded close. Just then after the third impact, all the Quantillian pony troops, around their camp, started to move about. Krystal, who then slipped into her commander suit issue, as it also tightened, into her size, put the slim box in her suit, in a compartment. She then trotted to the exit her tent, and looked up. There... in the sky... were astroids... They were as big, as a wheel of a monster truck, but were just as tough, as a rock would be. All the troops rushed to their armor, weapons, gadgets, gizmos and gears, as the heavy rocks crushed only a few of them. The Quantillian ponies, were very well trained for this, most of them at least... As each pony was eather dogging them, being impacted by them, with out being harmed, shooting them, and other skills, they had put their training, to it's best. As for the gifted Quantillians, they did other counters, such as catching them, and throwing them else where, crushing them, pushing them, while they were in the air, controlling them with their element, and many other ways. Krystal Shot a few, that were about to fall on her, but missed one, as it landed on her tent, that was just inches from crushing her. She shook off the adrenaline, and started giving out orders to her scattered troops. "Get into your stations! Load the batteries into the turrets! Lets go! GO! GO! GO!" She ran, and headed to the most populated part of the camp as she did her best to give out the orders, of her plans, out to every one. For she knows, this was the work of the... "Zenoids... Storm Spirit!" Shouted Krystal, out loud in her intercom, as her helmet popped out from her chest, then fourmed into a pony shaped helmet, with a dark blue visor. She then looked up, just in time to blast an astroid, with her mini gun, lazer gun, as it was shot up to pieces, fourming into little bits of rocks. Storm Spirit, then zapped right next to her, and was dumbfounded at what was happening "This wasn't in the forcast! The Zenoids, shouldn't be this close at this time, mid lady!" "No time to find out, how they got here so quickly, but now we need a roof over our heads. Storm Spirit, quick, give this to Shinning Armor, Twilight, Rarity, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence, and Princess Celestia, immediately!" Krystal's chest then opened up, from her suit, and launched the slick box, to Storm Spirit. Storm Spirit, caught it up in the air, as he zapped to it, and then floated, "Oh, but of course, dear Krystal, I shall run like the winds, and fly like a butterfly." Said Storm Spirit, trying to put some humor, into the situation. "Just do it!" Commanded Krystal, "We don't have any time!" Krystal then shot an astroid, that almost fell right on top of a pony as he cocked his heavy gun, and mounted it on his back, as the arm, was ready to take orders from his user. "If you don't get the first ring to Captain Shinning Armor, and if he doesn't get his shield up. Then things are really going to hell, for this planet!" Storm Spirit, then put his hoof, on his left chest, and flew to Ponyvill, "Spirit! Awaaaay!" cheered Storm Spirit, as he was moving at the speed of light, or for in his case, at the speed of lighting. Now all Krystal could do, was just hold off the astroids, keep her army under her command, survive the astroid attack, and keep every pony alive... For her, this was training, all over again.

At Ponyvill the few of the Equestrian guards, looked at from a far distance of astroids, landing on the Quantillian camp site. They all gazed in awe, hopping their allies, were all right, for they do not even know the enemy's attacks, and tactics. Shinning Armor, was on a near by hill that was right next to Ponyvill, as he stared at the astroids, plummeting into the Quantillian camp. Then something caught his eyes. A blue, electric ball, was coming with high speed, twords him. He drew his sword, unasure if this was an enemy, or that it was something to be avoided. He then summoned his shield from his side, ready to take the impact. Till suddenly, the lighting ball was already next to him, in a blink of an eye. It was Storm Spirit, showing his cheerful smile at Shinning Armor, "Top of the morn'n, I say!" spoke Storm Spirit, happily. Shinning, just looked at him, confused, "U-um... Good day... What is going on at your camp? I see rocks, that are on fire, landing in your camp. Is everything all right?" Strom Spirit, presented the slim box, to Shinning Armor, and opened it before him. "Just in case you haven't knowtest, we are currently under attack. And we are in need of your assistance, for you to summon that glorious, shield of yours." Shinning was confused, but did what was expected. Shinning used his magic to lift one of the rings, and place it onto his horn. The silver ring was so thin on his horn, it looked like as if it was a part of it now. Shinning then looked at the Quantillian camp, as it now was smoking. Shinning then used his magic to summon the pink sphere, as it grew rapidly, reaching to Canterlot, and to the Quantillian camp. The astroids, have now stopped landing into the Quantillian's camp, and instead were now shattering onto the pink shield. Storm Spirit then wasted no time, and zapped off, to Canterlot, where he will find all the rings, to give to, but Cadence.

Twilight and her friends have woken up, as they went up to the balcony, where they were told to stand on, and shall preform their element's powers, that were no more than a stun trick, to the Zenoids. Spike looked around the sky, seeing Twilight's brother, putting his magic to work, "Looks like your big brother's magic, has gotten stronger!" Said Spike, suprised by the performance. Twilight was not sure what was going on. A magic with such range would take years, to master. How did her brother even aquire such power so quickly? This was a head scratcher for Twilight, as she can't get any answers from her post. A Canterlot guard, then entered in the balcony, with a krystal ball. "Mrs. Sparkle, one of the Quantillian leaders wishes to speak to you!"

Meanwhile, Krystal was setting up a laptop device, of some sort, so that she may contact all the leaders, and generals, that were prepared for battle. The laptop wasn't working, like she had thought, then remembered that she needed to attach the krystal ball, to the laptop. Krystal then, quickly snapped the signal to communicate with other Quantillian ships, and used the wires to connect with the krystal ball. She used her mini gun, lazer gun, on the krystal, to make two holes, for the two wires. Then, the computer screen was working very different, to Krystal, as it now only showed all of the important leaders on the screen. Krystal then stopped fiddling with the krystal ball, and payed attention to the screen. In the screen was, Twilight, with her friends in the backround, as one part of the screen, another was Shinning, with his own, next to him was Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna, another below them was the Griffin king, as well as Spit Fire, sharing the same screen, and Zecora on the bottom left corner of the whole screen. Princess Cadence, wasn't on the screen, for she had other duties, to attend to at the Krystal Empire. Preparing them for the retreating force, was top priority for her, right now. Krystal took a deep breath, and let it all out, quietly. Then she looked at the screen, and started "Thank you Shinning Armor." thanked Krystal. Shinning Armor just nodded as a welcome, and listened. "What has happened in your area? Has the war begun, so soon?" asked Princess Luna, being next to her sister. Krystal just looked down at the table, that she had placed her laptop on, then looked up at the screen slowly, in disbelief, "Yes..." She answered, "We didn't expect them to come here so soon." Every pony, was shocked that the war had started early, as the sun rose up slowly. "However, there were minimal casualties, from this attack. The zenoids had already located us, and is now heading in our general direction. We need to set up our defenses, and set the formations up, quickly. The Zenoid scout force, will be here soon, in about fourty minutes." "That may not be enough time for us, to have everything ready!" Stated Shinning Armor, unasure if they will even be ready on time for the strike. "And these rings... What are they?" Asked Princess Celestia, as she and her sister had the thin, silver rings, on their horns already. "These rings, will help you to repel against the zenoids, but this time you can use your magic against them, and your magic will increase, times five. So becareful where you point those things!" warned Krystal, thinking how the war would end, if they cast a spell against them, by mistake, and then losing the war because of betrayal, or by accident. "Twilight, has Strom Spirit given you your ring, and Rarity's?" asked Krystal, "He is actually right here." answered Twilight as she picked up the ring, from the box, using her levitating magic. "Good, then how long is the shield going to hold for us Shinning Armor?" questioned Krystal. "The Shield should hold as long as I am providing it." Aswered Shinning, as he left out the part, where it would give him a terrible headache. "Good, as long we have this shield, then we can hurry, and set up our formations, before the second wave comes. If we don't take out the first scout waves, then were are going to have a real tough time to both retreat, and the will to fight back." All the leaders were quiet, for a moment, as they all thought, and then talked to one another about the plan.

As Krystal was with her laptop, communicating with the leaders, Tank was pushing the astroids away from the camp, and assisting the ponies, who were right under the astroid, still breathing, and had the energy to fight. Surpisenly, the armor is so thick on the Quantillian's troop soldiers, that some how they can mostlikely live through the impact from an astroid... Or was it an astroid?... As Tank, and other ponies, pushed or hulled them with ropes, on their backs, and placed them away from camp, one of the astroids, that was already away from the camp, then cracked. Tank turned around looking back at one of the 'astroids' he had just pushed a few seconds ago. The astroid cracked again, and again, this time showing a long, spider leg of some sort, that was colored pale white. Tank's eyes had widened, then warned the others around him, "SPIDER CRABS!" roared Tank, as all the troops in their green armor, had been already been wearing helmets, with visors, then all looked at Tank's direction. They all were equeppted with their massive bolt guns, and pointed at the first astroids that was hatching. They all then noticed that the astroids, were actually rock eggs. The first shot was made, as the big bullet, pierced right through the first spider crab that came out of the egg. The spider crab made a painful screeching noise, as it collapsed onto the ground. The spider crab had four thin legs, and one small body. The body was shaped like any other rock, but it acted like a turtle shell. It's mouth was at the front of it's body, and it's mouth had two crabby looking beaks, one on the right, and the other on the left. Before anypony could do anything, one of the other troopers, was pulled in an opened egg, and was never to be seen again. Then more spider crabs were getting out of their eggs. They were every where, wherever there was a rock egg laying around. Bullets were flying, bloters were blowing, and Tank was smashing them with all his might, with his two big gorrila shaped arms (squish).

Krystal, then paused a moment, and looked at the direction, of what it sounded like... gun fire... "Oh no..." whisperd Krystal. Krystal then looked back to the screen, "I have to let you guys go. I think the Zenoids, have left us a suprize for us!" "What's going on!?" Asked Shinning Armor, worried for what was happening, as they all could hear the shots, right through the microphone. "Spider crabs, is what we call them. They are what you think they are, except without claws. Listen, just do as I ordered you to do, get all your forces in their formations, and prepare for war. We'll get the batteries, ready once we get there!" suddenly, a small spider crab, had jumped on Krystal's back. Then she grabbed the creature from her back, threw it, then shot it, in the air as it made it's loud painful screech. "Krystal out!" stated Krystal, as she slammed the laptop down, to close it. Krystal then activated her jet packs, and was heading to Tank's direction.

Somewhere else in the Quantillian camp, was Sergent Razor's squad, who had already fourmed a wall, of crates, boxes, and tables as a wall around them as they had some other troopers, with them. They all had their helmets on, except for Razor. "He, he, these things sure know how to die!" Cheered Razor. "Watch your six, Silver!" warned Mic Quick, speaking though his helmet. Silver, tunned to the direction, where Mic Quick pointed, and a spider crab had just lept up off the ground, ready to make its kill, but then was shot by Silver's bolt gun, as it splatered with purple slime all over him. Silver was then back to shooting other spider crabs, as they all charged twords them, "Thanks Quicky! Your the fast one here." Thanked Silver, "There's a reason I'm called Mic Quick." replied Mic Quick. "Dirk, grenade these eggs, so we won't be late to the party will ya!" Commanded Razor, as he shot his hoof gun, at a spider crab, that was on a trooper, as it was about to inject it's poison in him, saving his life. "Under stood, sir!" Dirk wasted no time switching from his bolt gun, to his light weight, grenade launcher, and fired at the eggs, before any of them could open. (Foop!) the gun made, as it launched dark red balls, that said, 'I'm da bomb!' written on each and everyone of them, as they all met their end, after being impacted by the eggs. The eggs, then shattered like normal rocks, as Dirk fired each and everyone of them, near by. The spider crabs started to deplete, as their eggs, that didn't hatch yet, were being shot to hell. After the smoke had clear up, Razor then stood on a crate, that formed as a wall around them, and looked around, "All right boys! Lets not be late to our invitations, shall we!" stated Razor, filled with pride, as they all trotted to assist anypony, who needed it.

Shinning Armor, had set up the troops, in the dug up, trenches, which were filled with archers, and in the front were guards who carried swords, ready to strike. Shinning Armor, wasn't sure, if the Quantillian ponies, were all right, so he then send a small squad of troops to assist them, if they needed it. Shinning Armor's head, was starting to ach though... But not as much as before. Because he is wearing this ring, he felt like he could hold on to the shield's power, for a long time now. But eventually, he would have to bring it down, or stop casting it. For he knows, his headache is only going to get worse.

As the mule army, Canterlot and Equestrian guards, zebra tribes, pegusus, and griffins, were all set up for the war, Twilight had spot a grey looking cloud, that was up in the sky, through her brother's shield... She wasn't sure if she was seeing things, or not, and just simply ignored it. Spike was by her side, as he too looked at to where Twilight had just looked at. His eyes, were stuck looking at the small grey cloud, that was far, far, far, away, from them. The whole gang was just standing there, waiting for the time, to unleash the elements of harmony, as they had already had them on. Twilight's eyes, then looked at another direction, to where the Quantillian ponies, were. They seemed to be running... Running like there was something chasing them... Then she knowtest that from a distance, she could make out of a few swarms, of some sort of spiders, chasing after the Quantillian ponies. "Oh my... Wh-what are those!?" Panicked Twilight, as her friends then looked at the direction Twilgiht, was pointing at.

At the grass land, and coming out of the Everfree Forest, were the Quantillian ponies, as they all ran to the turrets, that were around the Canterlot castle, as they sat there motionlessly on the grass. The troopers, weren't looking at what was behind them, as they were retreating from the forest, and had already programed in their helmets, to command their bolt guns, to fire at things that were not pony shaped. Krystal, flying in her commander suit, and Tank, were leading the troopers, while Krystal fired at the spider crabs, as there were now so few of them. "Hey, why are we still running?" questioned Tank, "We can take them all down, now!" Huffed Tank. "But we probably don't have enough time to set up the turrets, and get our forces, set up into their formations." answered Krystal, who was having a nice time, in the air, as she shot the last few of the spider crabs. There were so many troops running, that they almost made the ground to shake, but however made loud running noises. Finnaly the last spider crab, had hopped onto a bolt gun, onto one of the troopers back, but then was easily shot at by another bolt gun, close by.

Soon, the Quantillian ponies, then powered up the turrets, and got into their defensive groups, and formations as planned. There was very little time left, as now everypony can now see the grey cloud from a distance getting closer, and closer, and grew to size, as it got closer. "Tank, gather with all the other 'special gifted' ponies are. I don't want anyone with their powerful skills being wasted after the first wave." commanded Krystal, as she then landed next to one of the turrets, that were quite big, as they pointed up in the sky. Tank just nodded, as trotted off. The Quantillian troops then placed, a little oval shapped ball, on the ground, and kicked it, setting off a light blue shield, that was shapped like a shell that you would find off the beach. However, it was way bigger, and designed to protect from incomming fire. Krystal, then looked at her left hoof, as she was standing on her hind legs, and a screen had appeared. Shinning Armor appeared into the screen, waiting for orders. "Captain, you may now lower your shield... Tell your soldiers to take out the Zenoids, as quickly as possible. They will come in groups, and will mostlikely not separate. Also, keep in mind that if any of your men go out of control, such as they are attacking one another... Hit anything that looks like a sphere, and that glows. You would then have a chance of saving your stallion's life after that." Shinning Armor noded, then asked " Wheres the rest of your army? I thought there would be more." "The rest of them are underground. The gifted ponies, will attack the second wave. If I command them to come and join us. Then we would have more problems in our hoofs, as the Zenoids take control of the most powerful ones, in our force." "Understood, we'll have the catapults ready to fire, from here in Ponyvill." Krystal, then looked up into, and through the pink shield, then looked down at Shinning, "I think those catapults of yours won't be nessecary, for now. Now, that you have them up, half of the group may come right after you. So watch out!" warned Krystal, "Krystal, out!"

The pink shield was lowered, the Canterlot guards men, were on the walls, with spear ponies, and archers. The Quantillian ponies, pointed their trust worthy guns, pointing high at the sky, looking at the grey cloud as it was getting closer and closer. Until, they could actually see small glowing yellow lights, representing the Zenoid's camra eye... No pony, had moved as the the massive group of Zenoids, were closing in. One of the guard ponies, of Canterlot, on top of the walls, then commented, "H-how many do you think there are!?" he said, questioning his chef. Back down, where there are trenches, and shields that were put up, a green armored trooper had commented to another trooper, "This... is going to be the biggest scout swarm, we've ever encountered..."

The Zenoid swarm, then grew so big, as it got close, making it to look like it could swallow all of Canterlot. Then Krystal gave the word... "OPEN FIRE! In the name of Mai Sight!" All the turrets then fired out green lazers, as their quad barrels, were cocking back and fourth each taking turns to fire. The troopers, then fired their big bolt guns at the Zenoid swarm, as their weapons made loud thundering noise. The Zenoids were being shot to pieces, as each bullet, coming from the troopers, exploded around the target, getting anything that was around it. Green lazers melted the Zenoids as they passed right through them. But it wasn't enough, the Zenoids were still on their course to Canterlot, as they all looked like four armed, silver octopus swimming like in a school, of fish. Krystal was worried this would happen, then looked back to her left hoof, and in the screen was Spit Fire, who wore her thunderbolt suit, and had daul slick flamethrowers, on her, desighed for aerial assult, " Spit Fire, unleash hell, at the guys!" quickly spoke, Krystal. "You got it!" Spit Fire said, as she slipped her goggels on to her eyes. Krystal then tapped here, and there, on the screen, revealing Twilight Sparkle, "Twilight, get your shine on!" "We're on it!" replied back Twilight.

Twilight and her friends stood around, in a circle, and then activated the elements of harmony. All of them were floating up in the air, as each of their symbols lit up, with power. Spike just backed away giving them space. Just then the elements then summoned a huge light, as it created a wave of light, all over Equestria. The Zenoids were stunned, which gave just enough time for the Wonderbolts, and griffins to come out of hiding and attack. "Give them hell, guys! Lets show them how we like them done!" all the pegasus and griffins charged. The pegasais then activated their flamers, and were now close enough to melt the Zenoids down. The fire in the flamers, was very different from the modern fire. Instead of them being affected by the wind, they would go out like nothing was being blown against them, allowing them to go even farther than usal flamethrowers would. The flamers, were also hotter than normal flames, and melted every bit of the Zenoid's metal body.

The griffins on the other claw, had metal talons on them, as they hacked right through every last Zenoid they could get their claws on. Things were going preaty easy, until the Zenoids recovered from their few seconds, stun. All the Zenoids shook them selfs awake, and started flying around, like angry bees. The griffens, were now toe to toe against the zenoids, but for the pegasais they were having a difficult problem. Now, zenoids were tackling them, in the air, trying to take control of the pegasai, while others attacked, and went right for the kill, using the sharp end of their tentacles. Spit Fire was having seven Zenoids, following her on her tail, as she soared. Then, Soarin came from behind them, and burned them to a crisp. "Thanks Soarin, I owe you one!" Said Spit Fire, thanking him. "No problem, Capt-" Soarin was then tackled by one of the Zenoids, as it wraped it's tentacles around him, "Hang on Soarin! I'm right behind ya!" shouted Spit Fire. Spit Fire, dove down at Soarin who was now wrestling with the Zenoid, in the air, as it was trying to sink into him. Soarin grunted as he tried to repel the creature, but the four tentacles made it difficult. Finally, Spit Fire then pointed one of her hoofs, down for a kick in the sphere. She kicked it, and then kicked it again, until it cracked. Then the zenoid, released Soarin, and Soarin was able to fly once more. Spit Fire then looked at him, and spoke "You got to hit the orb, it's their only way they die!" Soarin nodded, "Got it!" and the two flew back up to where all the action, was taking place.

The griffin king, was hacking and slashing at every last zenoid he could get close to. But there were too many, of them, and they flew preaty fast as well. The king was surrounded by his guards, as they protected him, but then "Gah!" one of his elite guards was wrapped up by a zenoid, and the two fell. Then the zenoid sunk into the griffen guard, then replaced one of his eyes with a glowing yellow sphere. "N-n-now we shall see how you like i-it, wh-when you slash at u-u-us!" spoke the griffen guard, who was now under the control of a zenoid, and spoke both with a normal voice, and a robotic voice. The possesed griffin, then charged at the king, the then king cut him, below the gut, spilling all the fragments, out from the guard. The griffen fell, and was bleeding every thing out, from his gut. Then the Zenoid who possed him, popped right out from the griffen's eye, leaving the body to fall. Then, the zenoid charged at the king, as it too was cut up, by him. "We are out numbered! Ms. Spit Fire! Tell Commander Krystal that we are sustaining heavy casualties, from these wretched monsters!" Bellowed the griffin king, as he just saw Spit Fire, coming from below. Krystal then activated a watch of some sort, from her hoof, and spoke into it.

Down below all the action, Krystal was commanding some heavy supports to come right by. "And make it quick, so hurry!" commanded Krystal, to a trooper, "Yes sir!" said the trooper, and then trotted off. Suddenly a loud static noise was being made, in Krystal's left hoof of where the command screen was. "Krystal!" Shouted Spit Fire, as she tried to avoid, any contact of any zenoids around her, "Spit Fire, whats the status!" replied Krystal. "We're-cut up here! They-moving too fast-and-we're coming down!" as Krystal herd those last words, she then looked up at the swarm of zenoids, as the remaining pegasais and griffins, swooped down, retreating, showing now that there was only half of the remaining force, left. Krystal, looked at what she had asked to arrive. In a line, there were big, aqua blue, armored, machines, that looked like big ponies wearing those armor suits, with big, and buff shoulder pads, and mounted on their shoulders, some carried long railed guns, while others carried a box, and sticking out of the aqua blue boxes, were missiles pointing out, from their own holes. These ponies, are actually machines, but inside them was a normal sized stallion, or mare manning them, to move. They moved really slowly, sicne they caried such heavy armor, and big guns. Finnally, the big machines halted, then were getting into a squating position, as their big hoofs, then activated a mechanism that looked like toes, for the machine. There were only four toes on every side of the hoof, one on the front and back, and another on the left and right side, making the machine to not move, while it fired it's weapons. All the big guns then pointed upwards, waiting for Krystal to give the command, "All missiles, create cover fire!" The big machines then opened fire, and the missiles looked like white birds, flying as if they were a flock of birds. While the other machines, with rail guns, were still waiting for orders, as they just stood there, squatting.

Spit Fire and the Griffin king were side by side, killing any zenoid that got in their way, as they dove down, looking for an escape. All the pegasai, and griffins followed their leaders, as the zenoids followed them as well.

Finnally, Krystal could see her allies, flying out in range, as she saw them coming out of the cloud full of zenoids. Then, right behind them was a swarm of zenoids, that they too, left from their own swarm made cloud. Krystal then activated, her screen, and spoke into it, "Now Twilight!" demanded Krystal, as she then looked back up at the zenoids following the retreating flocks. A bright light was created, as all the zenoids were now stunned, and unable to think, their next move, or orders. The missiles, then reached to the swarm of zenoids, that was following the flock that was retreating, and they all were exploding right out of the sky, creating a chain reaction of explosions. The chain reaction eventually stopped as the swarm was devastaed to half of what was left, chasing the ones who were falling back. The zenoids, then fully recoverd, and were back online. "Open fire!" commanded Krystal, as more missiles flew out from the blue boxes. The zenoids, were taking heavy casualties, as each missile struck at them out of the sky. The zenoids, were then changing tactics, and were now all floating away from the attack, and headed to the ground, for gound assult. While another part of the swarm then headed to Ponyvill. Krystal was now puzzled, as the other swarm was heading to Ponyvill, then it struck her! They have spotted the catapults...

The zenoids on the ground, near by Canterlot, then floated twords the kingdom, as the Quantillian troopers open fired upon them. There were now some zenoids changing color of their orbs, from a glowing yellow, to a glowing red. Now, for the zenoids who had the color red, in their sphere, shot red lazers out of their orb. The shots were inaccurate, as the zenoid army moved closer, but the troopers, and archers fired at will, with much better accuracy then the zenoids.

Shinning Armor, was in the back lines, of defense of Ponyvill, with the catapults. His nearby krystal ball, then sounded off, with Krystal's voice, "Shinning Armor, your going to have company! Be at the ready! The zenoids are coming fast!" Shinning Armor looked at the krystal ball, then looked at the direction of where Canterlot was. He, squinted his eyes, to see if he could spot anything. His eyes, then caught on to something! There, in a discance was a swarm of zenoids, heading strait twords them. "Soldiers of Equestria, prepare yourselfs! The enemy is charging at us, with such great speed!" shouted out loud, Shinning Armor, giving them all a warning. All the guards spot the swarm, and the archers were now aiming, and waiting for instructions... The zenoids were now close enough for the archers to fire, then Shinning Armor gave the signal, and all the archers fired. The arrows, soared up in the sky, as they all each hit the glass orb, of the zenoid's eye, while only a few arrows only missed and hit the grass. The archers loaded, and waited for the signal, then fired again, when Shinning gave out the signal. They did this for a few times, until the zenoids were getting in, too close. Shinning, and the Equestrian guards then drew their swords, and Shinning gave out the word, "CHAAARGE!" shouted, Shinning, as all who carried a sword ran, and met up with the enemy. They both collieded with one another, as the guards men swung their swords with their mouths, or magic. The zenoids were losing numbers, really quick, as each and every stallion, slashed at them. Shinning Armor, then was tackled by a zenoid. He fell into the ground, as he tried to move his hoofs, but couldn't! The zenoid had all four tentacles wrapped around him, then released one of it's arms, ready to pierce through Shinning Armor's skin. Shinning Armor then grabbed his sword, with his magic, and pushed his sword, deep into the zenoid's orb. The zenoid then lost it's color, and shattered, turning the tentacles into shattered metal shards on the ground. Shinning Armor, then got back up on his hoofs, looked around seeing that his soldiers, made quick work out of the zenoids. Now, only a few of his finest stallions, only took very little cuts and hacks, and were still ready for more. "Steady there, they'll be more to come..." Said Shinning, calming down one of his men, as he huffed and puffed with rage, to kill.

Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna were up in another balcony, watching the war, as both Quantillian ponies, and Equestrian troops were firing at the zenoids who were on the ground. Meanwhile, both pegasai and griffins, were fighting in the air, against any zenoid that was attacking in the air. The zenoids were losing both air and ground really fast, and the two sister's wondered if the war would end, sooner then expected. The Princesses, were also in their own fine armor, as they were in the balcony. Princess Celestia, had a lot of white, and little gold armor on her. She had shoulder armor, that had her cutie mark on it. Her wings, were the only things that had no such armor, leaving them defenseless. Luna on the other hoof, had her armor color different, but the design was similar, and smaller. Her armor color was mostly as blue as her hair, and had a little bit of dark blue on it as well. Her shoulder armor, had her cutie mark symbol as well. Finally, Luna spoke "Seems like the enemy is losing. Is this all the force, they brought with them, Tia?" "No..." Princess Celestia, then looked up at the sky. And there was another small speck of grey cloud, coming at their way. The two gazed into the sky for a long moment, then looked back down at the battlefeild, "By the looks of things, we may have to retreat to the Krystal Empire..." Spoke Celestia, softly. "But, Tia we're doing very well, at this timely hour. Why speak, as if you've have given up?" Celestia, then walked back to the door, that would lead her to a room, and said, "Because, by the looks of things, they are weakening our defenses, a little. This could chage this war in many ways." "You worry too much sister, the casualties are of few, our allies are strong, and the enemy will-" Celestia, then turned around, and looked at her straight in the eye, "Luna, from what I am seeing these creatures learn each other's mistakes. I just witnessed one charging, then it was shot down. The next, spun around trying to block the bullets. After that was shot, another hovered flat on it's back, dogging most shots, from a distance, then attacked a Quantillian, nearby. These creatures, are not to be underestimated. They'll eventually drive us out, of Canterlot, my dear sister..." Princess Celestia, tuned around, and walked out of sight, leaving Luna to look back at the battlefeild.

The zenoids, were now close enough to get into melee combat, and had now charged. All the Quantillian pony toopers, who were at the very front lines, were now dangerously close to the zenoids, and so backed up. As they backed up, the fired at the nearest zenoid that they could possibly fire at. Then, Equestrian and Canterlot guards men, came out through a tap door, in the trenches, coming from behind some of the zenoids, "Hammer of Celestia, ATTACK!" shouted, with power said one of the Canterlot guards, as they all charged with their swords, being carried by their magic, mouth, or by a hoof as they swung them around, slashing at any that got in their way. Some of the zenoids, made a pouncing attack at the guards, cutting them right through the armor, leaving them to bleed on the ground. Some other zenoids who had a blue color, in their orb, spun around like a saw, cutting guards that got too close. A trooper then shot a nearby blue orb zenoid, as it was about to cut off another pony's head off, and saved his life. The troopers then charged, joining their allies, in a close quarter fight. Every pony was being slaughtered, every zenoid was being shattered, into pieces, until the zenoids were no more.

Krystal, looked around the battlefeild, and spot a lot of troops down, and not getting back up, while there were still only a few, of both Canterlot and Equestrian guards on the ground as well. Everypony assisted those who were wounded, and helping them getting back up, on their hoofs, or carring them on their backs, for medical attention. Krystal wasn't too happy for the casualties that have occurred, and looked up at the sky, seeing the other wave of zenoids, coming at them, who were getting closer, and closer. Krystal looked around, now worried, and hoping to see her friend... Dagger, and the great mortal god, Mai Sight... "In the name of Mai Sight... Please hurry up Dagger... And Mai Sight, protect us..." She said carefully, making sure know one had herd her, praying. Krystal knows, that now with the first wave gone, the second wave will know what to strike first, down right to the last target to strike. Ever since the first wave was destroid, the zenoids have a way of communicating to one another, from one planet away, to another, and telling them, what was their strongest part of the enemy army, to what is the weakest one of them all. Krystal now fears, not only that if Mai Sight didn't arive here on time, but that the retreating plans may change or never work, if the zenoids have already figured out where to stike already. Razor, then came trotting twords Krystal's direction, "Commander Krystal!" spoke the sergent pony, urgently. "What is it?" ask Krystal unsure of what has happened. "We have three fillies, missing from the shelter." Razor then gave Krystal a glass screen, that had only two metal parts on the top and bottom, of the glass. Krystal then tapped on the screen, and saw three fillies in the picture. The three fillies were Apple Bloom, Sweetie Bell, and Scootaloo. "Oh no..." said Krystal, worried for these three fillies. "Something wrong, boss?" Krystal, then turned off the screen, by tapping on it three times, and gave it back to Razor. "I know them... They are probably finding a way to get their cutie marks, or they got lost, some how..." "What do we do now?..." asked Razor, as he put the screen in a sack, that was across his waist. "I know it's a bit risky and early, but send Tank to find them. Storm Spirit is busy explaining to the gifted ponies, where to strike first, when the zenoids arrive." "Under stood, I'll tell that big ape to find these three. But I was also told that there is a strange big creature in the second wave..." "So what? We've delt with all sorts of big creatures that these guys, have sent us." replyed Krystal. "...Um... no... I mean, its really, really big... We are talk'n about something that is the size of a big monster storm, or something." Unsure how to exsplain this to Krystal, Razor just pulled the screen out again, showing the second wave, coming up. Krystal just looked through her visor, and saw only symbols of the zenoids, entering in the atmosphere, and then seeing white dots, representing as zenoids, but out of all the other symbols only one stood out. Being surrounded by white dots, was a big red shape, that looked like a sucker fish, of some sort, the ones that would suck up dirt off the sea floor, then spit them back out, cleaning the oceans floor. "I'm not sure what creature that is... but, we need to get those fillies, back into that shelter, ASAP! Got it!?" Said Krystal, making sure that Razor got the message. Razor, just put his right hoof on his left chest, and trotted off. Krystal just turned around, and looked up at the sky, seeing that the grey cloud swarm, was getting three times bigger than before, the first attack... it was so big, that it alsmost looked like a storm cloud, with city lights on them already. "Wonder what fun toys, you have brought to us in these final days... you ignorant bastards..." cursed Krystal, under her breath.
