Height Advantage

Returning to her normal size brought a mix of advantages and disadvantages to Miyano Shiho. The overall disadvantage was being Miyano Shiho; the comforts and safety that came from her elementary-schooler identity were gone, and it made her feel naked enough to wear dark, wide-rimmed sunglasses when she left the house this morning.

'On the other hand,' she thought, mildly smiling as she browsed in a Shibuya clothing store and danced her fingers through a stack of skinny jeans, 'there are definitely advantages—' She was ripped from these thoughts when something that felt like a giant medicine ball slammed into her leg. "Ow!"

A girl squeaked behind her. "Are you okay, miss—"

Shiho lifted her sunglasses to wear them like a headband and, while rubbing her stinging shin, turned to face a very familiar trio.

"Ah!" cried Ayumi, gripping the hem of her floral pink dress at the sight, "Shiho-neechan!"

"Are you okay, Shiho-san?" asked Mitsuhiko, knitting his forehead in concern.

"Yes, thanks. I'll be fine," Shiho said. She walked toward Genta, her steady click of her short boot heels sounding a warning to the oblivious culprit who was busy dusting himself off. She planted her hands on her hips and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"We were waiting for Sonoko-neesan to finish making Ran-neesan try on clothes," Ayumi replied. "And it was taking awhile, so—"

"Genta-kun got impatient," Mitsuhiko muttered, shooting his friend a glare.

"It's not my fault she was standing there!" Genta replied, pointing at Shiho.

"Kojima-kun," Shiho said, keeping her gaze trained on him as she slipped her sunglasses into her purse, "That wasn't an apology."

"Geez, you were more fun when you were a kid like us," Genta said, crossing his arms over his head.

"Really?" Shiho dropped her voice dangerously low. "Care to say that—" she said, moving closer and letting her shadow overwhelm Genta before she bent at the waist and shoved her nose a fraction away from his. "—to my face?"

"Gaaaah!" the boy cried, stumbling backward into a circular clothing rack. His teeth chattered. "S-sorry! Very sorry!"

Shiho smiled and stood up. "Just watch where you're going next time. And mind your manners."

Yes, there were definitely advantages.
