A/N: So it's been a while, and for that I truly apologize. I got wrapped up in a lot of things and then I had writer's block and yeah, it's just been a crazy whirlwind lately. However, I am determined to finish this story and so I will do that for you guys. Enjoy this long overdue chapter.
Sam, Dean, and Cas, were heading towards the restrooms when suddenly, Crowley appeared in front of them. "Hello boys." he grinned at the two Winchesters, then looked Castiel up and down, his smile fading a bit. "Cas."
"Crowley." Castiel said, his voice low. "What made you decide to show up here?"
The King of Hell simply smiled, stretching his arms a bit. "I must admit, you all are doing a good job. You're almost through." Some of the humour faded from his eyes. "But it's starting to get rather boring so I thought I'd just-" he raised his thumb and pointer finger, as if preparing to snap. Amusement flecked through his eyes and a half smirk drew itself on his face, "Crank things up a little." he snapped his fingers and suddenly the hallway began to shake.
"Crowley! What the hell did you do?!" Dean shouted at him, looking around the hall in panic as he heard windows breaking, items smashing into the floor.
"As I said, I just shook some things up, made it a little bit more of a challenge." He winked, "Oh, by the way, the floor beneath your friends is going to break through in two minutes. Or well, about a minute and half now that we've been talking. Better hurry." he gave them one last smirk before disappearing into black smoke.
"Oh that son of a-" Dean grit his teeth but Sam put a hand on his shoulder.
"Now's not the time, Dean. We have to get to those bathrooms. Fast." He said quickly.
Castiel nodded in agreement. "Sam's right Dean, we don't have much time."
"Then what the hell are we all just sitting here talking for? Let's move!" Dean told them before running off in the direction of the bathroom, Sam and Cas hot on his tail.
Sam really hoped with all his being that they would make it on time, after all he owed it to them after not having been able to save Mayu. They were just kids, they didn't deserve what they were being put through and Sam was determined to save them. He promised he wouldn't let anyone else die, and he meant to keep it.
They made it to the restrooms finally, but the time was still ticking. Sam tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge. "Screw this." Dean said, stepping in front of him then kicking the door in. The trio were greeted by fearful eyes as everyone surrounded Naomi, who seemed to be going through some mental breakdown.
"Grab her and go! This whole floor is about to cave in." Dean instructed them.
"What do you-" Shinozaki was cut off as Dean cut past her and lifted Naomi over his shoulders, ignoring her screaming and kicking.
"No time kid, we've gotta move!" That had them convinced. Quickly, everyone gathered themselves and began moving towards the door just as the floor beneath them began to give out. It started near the stalls, but it was quickly spreading.
"Move! Move!" Dean prompted as he himself ran out the door, carrying Naomi still despite her protests. Sam and Castiel waited from the outside, and helped everyone get through. Satoshi, Kishinuma, Shinozaki...but then, Seiko's foot got trapped between one of the broken planks in the wood, sending her to the ground.
Grunting, she struggled to slip her foot between the cracks, but it was no use. She was stuck. Her large eyes looked up at the others, begging for help. "I- I can't move!" she cried, "I'm stuck!"
"Shinohara!" Satoshi called, "Don't worry. I'll- I'll come and help you!" Sam held a hand out in front of Satoshi.
"No, it's too dangerous. I'll help her, just stay put okay?" The mention of Shinohara somehow had snapped Naomi out of her fitful state.
"Seiko?" she whispered, looking back to see Seiko's helpless state on the ground. "SEIKO!" She screamed.
Sam moved towards the room but Dean stood in front of him, "What the hell are you doing?!"
"Trying to save an innocent person, Dean! That's what we're supposed to do, isn't it?" Sam asked, crossing his arms. Please, Dean, don't be difficult...there's no time..
"Sammy, I hate to admit it but you're just going to have to let this one go! There's no point in losing both of you." Dean tried to reason.
"Are you serious?!" Shinozaki shouted at him, expression locked in anger.
"Yeah, Shinohara is our friend!" Kishinuma protested.
"Dean, this isn't up to you okay? If there's a chance that I can save her, I'm willing to take it. And you can't stop me." Sam swallowed hard and proceeded to walk around Dean, but just as he made it to the door, suddenly the whole floor completely gave out.
Sam will never forget the terror in Seiko's eyes as the floor finally began to crumble around her. She let out a loud, earpiercing shriek and that was the last Sam saw of her. From there, everything happened in a flurry of emotions. Naomi had managed to break out of Dean's grip and run towards the restrooms, screaming and sobbing uncontrollably. Satoshi caught her by the arms and held her back, whispering soothing words into her ear and she cried.
The others were shocked, mournful, and most of all angry. Dean, though he was happy with himself for saving Sam, he also felt guilt after watching the ordeal. And Sam, Sam was furious. "You couldn't have just let me go, could you Dean?!" he snapped at his older brother.
"Of course I couldn't! Did you not just see what happened? That would have been you too if I had let you go!"
"Yeah? Well at least I would have died knowing I tried then!" When Dean didn't reply, Sam looked at his brother with disbelief then, just shaking his head. "You really don't get it, do you? You don't understand, Dean. I have to live with this on my conscious for the rest of my life. Wondering if I could have changed things. Not you. All you're worried about is if you saved your precious little brother, Sammy. To you, it doesn't matter who else dies does it?"
Sam sucked in his lip, shaking his head. "Well it does to me, alright? And now you've just let an innocent kid die over ME. Way to go." he turned on his heels, and began sulking off in the opposite direction.
"Just where the hell are you going?" Dean yelled after him.
"On my own. I'll figure out a way to get us out of here. But I can't do it with you. Not now, not anymore." Sam said angrily, without turning around.
"Yeah, because that worked out for you so well last time." Dean said, rolling his eyes sarcastically. "We can't get separated Sam, did you forget, we have no idea what we're up to here!"
"Vengeful spirit."
"Right a vengeful spirit that's got us on its territory. We have no books, no internet, no bones, what are we supposed to do here Sam?"
"I'll figure it out. But I don't need you to help me." Sam replied simply, his tone still angry.
"Fine then! Good luck to you!" Dean shouted. Sam still didn't even bother to turn around.
