Wow I finally made myself write this chapter. It took forever, and I had to take so many breaks, but well at least it's done. It's much shorter than the previous chapters, but hope you like it anyway. And as always, I am apologising for the time it took.

So the chapter takes place over a year or so, so I guess we are around 2000-2001 or maybe two if I really stretch it. So well ignore the real timeline, it doesn't follow it all the way, even if some similar things happens.

And yes I don't like Ada, so apologise for the way I make her.

Van Ark and Sigrid are from a game/app called Zombies, Run! I do plan of writing a story there, that's why they are here. And well if I never write that story, well they work here as well. So they are from the game, and so are the Wakened Land, so no worries if you have don't know of them, no need.

Halt is as always from Rangers Apprentice.

I picked the other facilities randomly, except Russia, and well I rush through them because I don't think it would be fun reading a story where they walk through all of them.

The creature they meet, well I don't have any typical type in mind, just imagine one of your own.

I replaced Chris with Leon in this one, also for reasons, but you will see.

And well I decided to make Cara and Ethan friends, they still have a long way to go, but if I would evolve their relationship in a normal speed, well then I would need to focus more on them, and I don't wont that.

Also I know that Wesker is waaaaaaay out of character here. I struggled with his part, yet I wanted it to be like that, which made me stuggle anymore. Anyway, I hope you can like it, despite his OOC.

I think that's all i have to say, and if not, well it wasn't anything important.

Thank you for reading and reviewing! Enjoy :)

"Are you really bringing them?" Ada looked at the dogs, very displeased, from where she was standing.
"Are you really going to be dressed liked that?" she countered, seeing that the woman wore a dress. Cara didn't really care what she wore, not at all, but she had started to dislike the woman, mostly because she founded her comments annoying.
"I am going to miss you" Wesker carried Sherry when he entered the room.
"I am going to miss you as well, but we are soon going to be back"
"Promise?" Sherry gave him a daring look, making Wesker smile.
"Have I ever lied to you?"
"…" Sherry started and you could see how she was trying to think about it, as Wesker let her down, and walked over to her.
"I will leave Lady with her" she informed him, and the dog looked at her with pride in her eyes, as she sat down to Sherry, who hugged her at once. Wesker gave her a nod in thanks, far from needed, but she smiled back.
"Ready Kiddo?" Barry asked, as he entered the room and she raised an eyebrow.
"Been waiting for you for twenty minutes"
"I am old, takes me time to get down the stairs" he joked and Cara smiled, she was pleased, every time he joked, seeing a part of the old Barry.
"Maybe you should stay at home than"
"Slim chance of that happening Kiddo. Someone need to look after you"
"Well true, HUNK and Wesker did let me get hurt the last time"
Ethan only gave her a look, but didn't comment on it, not that she had expected him to.
"Are you done?" Wesker asked, talking to them as he had done, when he was their captain.
"I think he dislikes our jokes"
"You may be right Kiddo"
"I am always right old man" Barry was about to answer when Wesker looked at them once more.
"I am sorry, Sir" Barry said without thinking, which made Cara laugh and Barry realised what he had done.
"At least one of you know how to answer properly"
"Well you aren't my captain anymore, so no need to call you sir" she teased as she called for the dogs and headed out through the door, towards the car.

"When was the last time you were here?" Wesker asked as they landed in England.
"Years" was all she simply answered, looking out over London. She wasn't sure if she missed it or not. England had been her home, and she had good memories of it, but the horrid memories often took over.
"You grew up here Kiddo?"
"Partly. Lived here from time to time. My Godfather used to live here, so when I stayed with him, I did as well" she only answered and Wesker gave her a wondering look, wishing to know if she was okay. She nodded in response, not too keen to talk about it.
"Ready?" Wesker asked instead, Ethan and Ada nodded in response.
"Always ready Captain" Barry said, seeing almost too eager to do this. Cara could understand him, to some extent, wishing to know who killed his family. She just hoped he wouldn't make a mistake because of it. Wesker looked at her and she nodded as well, she was always ready, just like Barry. She signed for the dogs to follow, as they walked closer to the building.

The dogs walked beside her, waiting her command as they entered the building.
"So where to?" Barry looked at Wesker, but he didn't answer, just kept walking and Cara smiled, not surprised by Wesker's action. Instead she studied her surroundings, seeing that even if she knew the maps, it was different experiencing it in real life. And so much could change in just one day, making the maps of no use. From what she saw, it wasn't much difference between this facility and the ones she had seen earlier, except this wasn't destroyed. But it was almost as empty, if not more, seeing it didn't have any wondering zombies. If Cara hadn't known that Wesker had contacts on the inside, she would have been worried, but knowing that, she walked calmly after Wesker as he opened a door.

"Hello darling" Cara looked at the whitehaired man, sitting at a desk, who had greeted them or most likely Wesker, without looking at them.
"Van Ark" was all Wesker answered as he walked closer, making the other man turn to face them.
"Please tell me that's the new one, and not that skank?" He looked at Cara, before he turned towards Ada with an unpleasant look. The other woman didn't seem to care about the man's assumptions, and Cara just raised an eyebrow.
"I am not here to gossip" Wesker told him and Van Ark sighed.
"Isn't that ashame" he clearly tried to joke, but none of them found it funny and he stood up, looking at Wesker, clearly about to say something, but ended up staring for a few seconds. "The…the virus accepted you!"
Wesker simply nodded.
"Sigrid!" Van Ark shouted, taking them by surprise, wondering if he wished for them to get caught, but seeing a single woman walk out, it didn't seem as likely.
"Yes?"
"He was accepted by the virus! It didn't turn him into one of the creatures!" Van Ark declared, very excited and the woman just blinked a few times before she walked over.
"That is fascinating, which of the strings? How long ago? How…"
"I am not here to answer questions" Wesker interrupted them, clearly not interested in what they had to say.
"You are now, if you want my help! I do no longer want the money, I want to run some tests" Van Ark stated, challenging Wesker with a look. Cara could tell that the blonde thought it over, none of the others said anything, and Wesker finally nodded. "Great, here are our cards"
Van Ark handed over two ID cards and Cara accepted them as she walked over to the computer to search for the information they could need.

They knew that the Red Queen wasn't in London, but they hoped they would be able to eliminate some places by searching the files here. The London lab was one of the most informed, and normally the labs didn't have much information about each other, but London was an exception, just like Raccoon had been. Hopefully they would find something useful.
"How is it going Kiddo?" Barry walked over as she entered the system.
"It's going, just trying to get used to working with such old tec"
"It's the latest" Sigrid pointed out, and Cara turned towards them, meeting Wesker's eyes for a second, smirking, before turning back to the computer. When she got the hang of it, it was ridicules easy, lacking a lot of the modern things she had learn to work with.
"That looks promising" Barry pointed at some files and Cara opened it, but soon saw that they were encrypted. "You don't have access?"
Barry turned towards the others, sounding angrier than he should, but Cara understood where it came from.
"Few people have access to everything in Umbrella" Van Ark simply answered, and Barry knew that was true, being a part of the organisation for such a long time, but at the moment he seemed to forget about that.
"Barry, don't worry, I will just hack the system and found out"
"It's one of the most secured systems in the world, impossible to hack" Sigrid declared and Cara just shrugged her shoulders, that may be true, but she doubted it, at least with her knowledge.

It took her awhile, but she soon cracked the code and she was in, being able to read all the files.
"There you go" she stated making Barry turn to her, almost shuffling her to the side and she just shook her head. Cara turned towards Wesker instead, wishing to see if he was doing alright. It was almost impossible to read his expression; however, she had learned to understand some of the small things he did. She could tell that he wasn't too pleased with the situation, but he endured it none the less. Cara gave him a smile, one he responded to, making Van Ark surprised.
"Hm you are good lady, I rarely, if ever see him smile"
"No they are rare" she couldn't hinder herself from giggle, resulting in Wesker giving her a look, she couldn't read it, but she didn't cared at the moment.
"What's the Wakened Land?" Barry asked, making them turn towards him. Wesker shrugged his shoulders, but the other two looked at each other.
"Nothing special, a side project" Van Ark finally said, Cara didn't believe him for a second, but she didn't said anything, as long as it didn't affected her, she wouldn't care.
"Found what we need?" she asked Barry instead, who turned towards her and blinked a few times.
"Um, yes, eliminated a few places, but can't say where it really is" he answered, clearly still wondering about the Wakened Land.
"And we are done" Van Ark turned towards Wesker, who stood up without a word. Cara wasn't sure if they really were done or if Van Ark just wished to get rid of them, not wanting any questions about the Wakened Land. Their behaviour made her curious, she admitted that, but she had other things to tend to, so once again she kept quiet.
"Thank you" Wesker said, making Van Ark smile wide.
"No thank you! This was extraordinary!" he looked at the samples he took. "We need to speak more about this! I will call you!"
Wesker didn't answered him, clearly not being interested in any further contact with the man.
"So be careful now darling, and run along!" Van Ark waved at them before he turned to Sigrid and they started talking, very excited about something.

"Was that really wise?" Barry asked, as they left the building, clearly worried about what they just did.
"We got the information we needed, if it was wise or not, only time can tell" Wesker answered and Cara agreed, sometimes you had to trade something, to get something, and sometimes you don't know what the results would be. She didn't liked gamble like that, but she also knew that it could be needed.
"So which destinations can we skip?" she asked before Barry started a discussion with Wesker about it, one that most likely wouldn't lead to anything good.
"We can skip Spain, Germany, Iceland and Ireland"
"That leaves France, Russia and Switzerland" Cara thought about the facilities, it was only three, but it was some of the more difficult to enter. "I recommend the order; France, Switzerland, Russia"
She looked at Wesker, seeing he was the one that led the operation, and he nodded, coming to the same conclusion.
"Then let's go!" Barry was eager to get away, and he almost started running and Cara gave Wesker a look, maybe they needed to speak to Barry, more than they thought. But for now, they would just observe. Cara called the dogs, and they started heading towards the plane.

"Can I ask how you know him?" Cara turned towards Wesker, where he was sitting next to her, on the plane. Wesker didn't answer her at first, and she was on her way to tell him that he didn't need to, when he spoke.
"I grew up in an orphan, and Van Ark was one of the people who thought us. He isn't much older than me, but Umbrella recruited him in an early age, while he was attending school, Umbrella funded him, if he educated us. When I moved to Raccoon, he came along, knowing Marcus, one of the founders, since before. He worked there for six months, before he moved back to England, being given his own lab. We have kept in touch over the year, mostly his doing" Cara blinked a few times, that was most likely more information than she had ever got before. It raised so many questions, but she contained herself, knowing it wasn't the time or place to ask.
"Thank you for telling me" she gave him an honest smile.
"It was a reasonable question, and information you deserved to know"
"Even so, you didn't need to tell me as much you did, but I really appreciate it" Wesker only nodded in response and she leaned towards him, as she looked out through the window, patting the dogs.

Cara had almost fallen asleep when she felt how Wesker became tense for a second, and she turned around, trying to see what made him tense, but she saw nothing.
"A penny for your thoughts?" she looked at him, tilting her head.
"They are talking about us" Wesker started and for a second she was confused, wondering how he knew, before she remembered that he heard better than normal humans.
"So?" Cara wasn't one to care, and Wesker normally wasn't either.
"Most of them are about you, and why you are with me" Cara sat up, and turned around. She couldn't remember seeing Wesker so…hm she wouldn't say vulnerable, because he didn't seem or acted like it, but it was still something that was off. It was so easy to forgot that Wesker could react to normal things as well, seeing he hid everything.
"You want me to answer you?" she wasn't sure what Wesker wished for, and he didn't seem to know either. "You know besides that I like you, you make me feel safe, you make my life more interesting, you accept me for who I am, and you pull out a side of me few can. Do you wish to hear more cliché reasons?"
Wesker met her eyes and she was really wondering what went through his mind at the moment, seeing it was very unlike him.
"You want me to state my reasons?"
"Wesker are you okay? You acting so strange" Wesker didn't answer her, and she just shook her head, at least that was normal. "And you can if you want, but don't force it, because it's not you. And you know what? Who really do care for the reasons? As long as you like me, and wish for me to be here, I will be here"
She turned around again, leaning against Wesker as she had before, and he placed an arm around her.
"You truly are the perfect woman"
"I know"

Cara looked at the facility, hidden inside the mountain. The France Facility hadn't given them anything, except maybe a headache. Going in had been easier, but getting out had been a struggle. One Wesker's men had triggered an alarm and they had to fight their way out, losing some people. It didn't become her, not caring about the men, but it made her irritated, seeing how stupid it was. This was one of the reasons she preferred to work alone, or with only a partner, someone she could trust. If they were good enough she knew she didn't need to fight her way out, no one would ever know they were there. At that moment she had missed Halt, working with him was really easy, like they were two ghosts. To be honest, she felt that most her partners would do, being skilled in stealth, and if not, well then they were powerful enough to handle the situation anyway. She glanced at Wesker, she felt it had been better if it was only them, however, the place was too big to search for just two people, at least fast enough. But she still preferred that over having idiots with her.

Wesker walked up to her, where she was standing, with the dogs next to her.
"The system should soon go off" she lowered the binoculars, looking at the blond next to her. She had sent mails containing viruses to the employers, when she was in France, it would destroy their systems, forcing them to evacuate, without triggering the self-destruction. This hadn't been their original plan, but when she was in France she had come up with it, knowing that attacking the base, or sneaking in was more difficult. This would of course provide other obstacles, like the risk of the virus escaping, yet she preferred this over the other options. Wesker had thought it through and agreed to her plan, and here they were. It had taken some months for everything to get ready, but it was worth the wait.
"You are brilliant Kiddo" Barry stated as the alarm went off, but she just shrugged her shoulders, as Wesker went to prepare the men.

"So how do we get in?" Ada asked as they stopped in front of a hidden side door. "Do you have a key?"
Wesker didn't answer, he only kicked the door open and Cara turned towards the other woman.
"Good enough for you?" Ada glared at her as they entered. The door was made for the security team that would came later, and clean out the facility, if the self-defence hasn't been activated.
"Wow things clearly didn't go well" one of Wesker's men commented when they entered a room, covered in blood and Cara sighed, more over the man's comment then the stat of the facility.
"Rarely does" Barry answered as he scanned the area.
"There is living things walking around freely here" Wesker warned them, and Cara wasn't surprised.
"Any idea of how many?"
"Less than we are used to, but I don't have a number" she nodded, accepting that answer. "I want team A to go to the west part of the building, Ada you are going with them. Team B take the south part. Team C the east and we take the North"
"Yes sir" The men sat out in small groups, and for a second Ada seemed displeased that Wesker sent her away, but she seemed to understand that he wished to test her. Cara looked at the three men, being pleased she had them with her, and none of the others, as signed for the dogs to follow her.

The facility wasn't as bad as the mansion had been, or Raccoon city, but it was more than the lab they had found Birkin in. But seeing it didn't prevent her with any challenge, she soon got bored. She was still careful, but she started thinking about other things.
"Sir, we have something over here…" one of the men said, and Cara could tell how irritated Wesker got from the vague statement. "We don't really know what it is"
"Describe it"
"It's…What did you do?"
"I did nothing, it just opened"
"Close it!"
"I can't!"
"Then shoot it!" Cara heard how the men started firing, and from that sound, she could tell they were panicking, before everything went silent. They waited a few minutes but no response came from them.
"Team B have been killed. From what is unclear since they didn't report" Wesker informed the other over the radio as they continued walking.

"Find anything Kiddo?" Barry looked at the document she was holding.
"Nothing that will help me. It's report of different viruses, and creatures" she handed it to him, but he didn't seem to be able to make much more sense out of it. "Nothing about the Red Queen so far"
"She may not be here"
"I know, but we can't be sure until we searched everywhere"
"Team C has found nothing at their end" Wesker informed.
"Do you wish to send them towards B's location, or should we go there?" she could tell that Wesker thought which option was the best, she saw pros and cons with both. They wouldn't be in any danger if whatever was over there was released, but the team may not be able to handle it, something they most likely would.
"I will send them" Wesker decided before he contacted them.
"You think they can handle it?" Barry asked her, for a second sounding concerned.
"Don't know, who says whatever they met is still there?" she knew that a lot of the creatures moved around, and she doubted this one wouldn't do the same.

"Nothing here" Cara turned towards the others, when she was done searching through the computer.
"Are you sure?" Barry sounded disappointed and she raised an eyebrow. "Sorry"
"No worries. And yes, I found no documentations about the Red Queen, neither in official, or unofficial documents. All information that could be needed in other situations are transferred to this USB-stick."
"Anything you know we will need later?" Barry looked at the device, but she just shrugged her shoulders.
"I can't see into the future, so no, but if we need something, we don't need to break in here again"
"How did you know what to take?"
"You learn" was all she answered, as she stood up and walked over to Wesker. "Ready to leave, or is there something else you wish to check out?"
"No" Wesker answered her, and they started leaving the room, as Team C contacted them over the radio.
"Sir, we collected some papers, but whatever killed the men aren't here. However, it killed them by ripping them apart. And it left the room, by breaking down the wall"
"Roger. Head back to the plane"
"Yes, sir!"

Cara looked at Wesker, and for a second she thought he seemed worried, but as soon as she thought that, it was gone. She couldn't say what HUNK thought, not seeing his face, but Barry looked worried.
"What do you think it is?" he asked, looking at them, Ethan just shrugged his shoulders, not surprisingly, seeing he was a soldier, not a scientist.
"A few creatures come to mind, but I can't be sure which it is, without more evidence" Wesker answered, and Cara smiled, she had been surprised if he made a guess, and she didn't mind, being the same. She wouldn't guess either, making it easier for you to assume that's the creature, risking being surprised if it's something else.
"I don't know either, the files talked about a lot of different types of tyrants, can't even say if all of them had been made." When she had searched the files, she had skimmed the ones about the different types of monsters, but that wasn't enough to really tell her much. She would read the files when she had time, and learn the different types.
"We got some examples of the virus Sir, but nothing more" Team A said, and Wesker told them to head for the plane as well.
"Something you wish to share?" Cara looked at the man next to her, for a second wondering if T-Veronica didn't work as he had hoped.
"It works fine" he assured her, being able to tell that she got worried, and she smiled towards him. "I simply wish to have more materials to work with"
Cara nodded, seeing that it was logical.

She was about to say something when the dogs growled and she turned in the direction.
"Hunters" Wesker informed them and Cara was really pleased that he had the powers he did. The dogs could warn her, but not inform her of what it was. And knowing a few seconds in advance, gave her time to prepare. The green creatures appeared, jumping towards her, but she learned how to deal with them a long time ago, and she wasn't alone. When she had been in the mansion, she had to take down all of them by herself, here she could concentrate on one, and knowing the others would do their work. She still kept an eye on the other creatures, but they were soon dead.
"More are coming" Cara sighed, she really thought of them as boring, and she only wished to get out of here, knowing they would need to go to Russia next. However, if they were to meet hunters and things along the way, it would take longer than needed. "They aren't alone. Guess we get to see what kind of creature it is"
Cara glanced at Wesker, only for a second, only to see that he was doing the same, and he smirked.
"Don't get cocky" she answered him, as she rolled her eyes. Cara turned her attention towards the door, as she could see the first hunter and it was about to jump when something grabbed it, and threw it down, over the ledge they were standing on, the other hunters was taken by surprise, before they got hostile and attacked whatever was hiding in the darkness. It didn't take long until all of them were dead, and it was no surprise that the team had been slaughter, seeing it could rip the hunters apart without a problem. Cara felt how the ground was shaking when the creature started walking again, soon ripping the wall open to come to them. HUNK didn't wait until he started fire, meeting enough creatures to know that letting them get to close resulted in death. Cara ordered the dogs to stand back, not wishing to see them hurt, before she started fire as well.

All of her shoots were perfect, and would have killed almost everything else, yet the creature was unaffected by them. She wasn't to surprised, learning that these creatures could endure most things, but seeing that four of them fired into it, and it didn't react, surprised her. It didn't even slow it down, luckily it didn't move to fast, so they could outrun it, she hoped. Maybe it could sprint, she didn't know yet. The creature grabbed the wall and ripped apart, making the wall behind him collapse. The dust was everywhere, and she couldn't hinder herself from coughing.
"Look out" Barry shouted as the creature swung his new weapon towards them.
"HUNK, back up" she looked at Ethan who hadn't moved, only continuing firing. Cara knew what he tried to do, but she doubted he would be able to bring the creature down until it hit him. "HUNK! Or for fuck sake!"
She rushed forward and grabbed the man, taking him by surprise for a second, and he turned towards her.
"GET BACK! NOW!" He hesitated for a second before he nodded, and followed her back, just avoiding getting hit by the creature.

"Any ideas?" Barry continued firing towards the creature, as they backed away, just hoping that something would work.
"Run?" Cara suggested, seeing no meaning in wasting all of their bullets. The other thought about it for a second, like they wished there was another way, before they nodded. Cara never understood why people always wished to fight, she rather ran away, if that would save her life, than fight, just because. She signed for the dogs to start running and they were soon behind them.
"Look out" Wesker shouted and she threw herself towards the side, easily landing on her feet, just as the part of the wall smashed into another wall. The creature had thrown the large piece, trying to hinder them from running. It meant that it couldn't run, but it wouldn't let them go, seeing it already picked up another piece.
"Any other ideas?" Barry raised his gun again.
"I will deal with this"
"And how will you do that?" Cara looked at Wesker, sounding more sarcastic than she had meant to, making Wesker smirk.
"I have my ways. Doubting it will be more difficult than Nemesis"
"Which you couldn't kill" she reminded him and he walked over to her.
"I thought you had faith in me"
"You know I do, doesn't mean you can handle everything. What will you do if you can't kill it? Are you going to run away and being hit in the back by whatever it throws?" Cara saw to many faults with that plan, not that she had a better of her own. Yet she didn't like it. She hated seeing people she cared about, putting themselves in danger. If she only could use magic, she would win so easily.
"And your father would find you" Wesker pointed out and she met his eyes, was she that easy to read? She ignored the question for now, it wasn't important. "I will handle it, giving you a chance to get out"
"Fine" she sighed, having no other option, knowing that you sometimes had to accept a plan, even if you disliked it.
"Good girl" he teased before he kissed her. "I love you, so get out safe"
"You do what?" Cara couldn't help it, her voice was loader than normally, but she was so surprised by his words.
"Make sure she gets out" Wesker turned towards Barry who only smiled as he nodded, before Wesker sprinted towards the monster. Barry grabbed her arms, to make her move. For a moment, all she did was stare after Wesker still surprised, before she collected himself, and became angry instead.
"He is the fucking worst!"

"Who does that? What is wrong with him?" Cara had boarded the plane and was talking to Ethan, who she said could sit next to her. The others were very confused by her actions, Wesker's men even stayed away from her. Ada tried to walk closer and listen in, but Barry had stopped her. Cara had told Barry that she didn't wish to see him either now. She wasn't really angry at him, but she didn't wish to talk to him, and she told him to keep Wesker away, if he returned. Barry had corrected her, and said 'when'.
"Do you really want me to answer?" Cara more or less glared at him, but it didn't become him. "It's Wesker, he is a strange man"
"Oh thank you for the wisdom" she answered sarcastically. "He is an idiot! He knew I have lost enough people"
"You weren't this upset when he battled Alexia"
"Because I knew he could handle her. This is different! He Couldn't kill Nemesis, so how does he think he will be able to kill this one? And if you say he sent me away to protect me, I will tell you to go and sit with the others" she gave him another look, making him chuckle, but not answer. "And who tells someone that they love you, for the first time, before they possible meets their death"
"Only Wesker" was all he said and Cara sighed, if that was only true, people had done this before, and then died. Not always for the first time, but before they died. It was always hard to hear those words, but if the person died from old age like Halt it was easier. If the person died on the battlefield, it just made her upset. They knew they may die, and they dare to tell her they love her before rushing off, she hated it.

"Sounds like he is back" Ethan was on his way to move, seeing he was sitting in Wesker's seat.
"Stay" Cara told him, having no intention to letting Wesker sit next to her at the moment. "If you want to"
She had no desire to order Ethan to stay, but she wished for him to stay. They had gotten closer since their trip to Barry's house. She wasn't as close with him, as she was with Barry, but she consider Ethan as a friend, and enjoyed his company. They still had much to learn about each other, but so far they had made it work.
"No problem, I like his seat" he smiled and Cara nodded, she could hear how Barry talked to Wesker, but not what they said, not that it mattered at the moment. Instead she placed herself comfortable in her seat, leaning against Ethan who accepted it, learning that she liked doing that, and he had nothing against it.
"Wake me if anything happens" she stated, knowing that he would do that, compared to Wesker who avoided waking her unless it was really needed. She took a deep breath, not wishing to think about Wesker at the moment.

"Here" she turned towards Wesker, seeing he was holding a key in his hands, and it took her a few seconds to understand that it was a key to their room.
"No need, I will sleep in HUNK's room tonight" she told him, knowing that if she stayed in his room, it would end with her scolding him, or worse, and she didn't wish for that. She could have stayed with Barry, but she figured Wesker may wish to speak with him, so Ethan was better. HUNK didn't say anything about it, only accepting it and she was about to go with him, when she met Wesker's eyes. For a second she saw something she couldn't place, something she never seen in his eyes before. She tried to figure out what it meant, since Wesker wouldn't tell her. Normally she would ask, or wait for him to tell her, but that look was so wrong that she needed to figure it out now!

It hit her, just as Wesker started to walk away. She wasn't sure what had made Chris sleep with someone else, neither of them had said, and she hadn't asked, but Wesker was clearly worried. It wasn't surprising, seeing he most likely never thought Chris would do such a thing, and that made him fear someone else may do the same. She would never do that to one of her partners, but Wesker may not know that.
"We need to talk" she took Wesker's hand, before she glanced back at Ethan. "See you later, maybe"
Ethan gave her a puzzled look, seeing he hadn't seen what she did, something she was pleased with. She didn't know why, but she was glad that everyone couldn't read Wesker as she did, because it would feel wrong, seeing he wished to keep it private.
"Come on, now!" Wesker seemed to hesitate and she sighed. "Don't force me to drag you along"
"I would like to see you try" he simply stated and she gave him an irritated look.
"Fine, you rather that we didn't talk?" she asked, trying to stay calm, not wishing to argue with him. Wesker seemed to think it over, before he followed her outside.

Cara stopped, they had walked out of the small village, and they were alone out in the snow, she lifted her gaze to the stars, they made her relax.
"You do know that I would never cheat on you?" she didn't look at Wesker, keeping her eyes on the stars. Wesker was standing next to her, silent, as he wasn't sure what to say.
"I do" he finally answered her and she turned towards him, giving him a small smile.
"Good, because I would never do that! If I felt that I didn't wish to be with you, I would tell you"
"Chris said the same, more or less, yet after an argument…" Wesker didn't met her eyes, and she could tell he wasn't proud of admitting how he felt. She knew he preferred not to be this vulnerable, but she had nothing against it, and she didn't judge him.
"Well one, I am not Chris! Two, I am not an idiot, and act stupidly because I am angry. I try to calm down and talk things through. Why do you think I have been avoiding you? Because I don't wish to scream at you, I wish to talk as two grownups" she gave him a small smile "And three, who in this world, could possibly be better than you?"
"I apologise if I offended you, saying that I loved you" Cara blinked a few times, surprised by his words.
"Wow you really are an idiot" she muttered "I am not upset because you said you loved me, I am upset by the fact that you said that, then sent me away, and went battling whatever that was. Who fucking does that? What is wrong with you?"
She couldn't help herself from shouting at him, before she punched him.
"You wished to stay and be in the way?" Wesker answered sarcastically, and she gave him a cold look, before she kicked him, making him fall to the ground, to his surprise.
"I don't care that you sent me away, fully aware that I would be in the way. I wasn't too pleased with the plan, but we had no other choice. But how dare you say you love me before that? What if you would hadn't returned? Making me lose you too! What if…" she more or less screamed at him, as she felt the tears start flowing. Wesker sat up and slowly pulled her into his embrace.

She didn't know how long they sat there, before she calmed down. Wesker hadn't said anything, only held her, and by now she was only staring out, into the darkness. He had his arms around her, as she tiredly leaned against him.
"I apologise, I didn't took your thoughts into calculation" Wesker admitted and she nodded.
"No you did not" she whispered, soon feeling a kiss upon her forehead. "Never ever do something like that again. If you try, I may actually tackle you to the ground, or something worse"
Wesker was about to answer her, most likely in a joking way, when she gave him a cold look, and he stayed quiet. Cara took a deep breath, as she closed her eyes, feeling very tired.
"It wasn't my intention to make you think I would sleep with HUNK"
"I should never have thought that"
"No you shouldn't, but I can understand why, so no worries" Wesker kissed her forehead once more before he stood up and helped her to her feet.
"We need to rest" Cara looked at the village in the distance, and nodded, they needed to head back.
"Come on, let's go" she took Wesker's hand as she texted Ethan and told him she would stay at Wesker's room tonight.

"We are not the only one here" Wesker turned towards her as he pressed his watch, and Cara soon heard a familiar voice.
"There is no time to wait for authorization from the Russian government. That facility is an Umbrella base" Jill stated and Cara was surprised to hear her voice.
"Yeah. We can't let them get away with this" Leon answered, making her even more surprised. Since when did these two work together, and how did they found their way out here.
"There is always someone intervening" She wished to do this quickly, but she guessed that Jill and Leon wouldn't make that happen.
"I want all of you to keep the BSAA busy" Wesker told his men who nodded. "I want you three to go after Valentine and Kennedy, take them down, and the others will be lost"
Barry, Ethan and Ada nodded as well.
"And you?" Barry asked looking at them.
"We are going after the Red Queen"

Working alone with Wesker and the dogs made her pleased, better than it did with the others. She had someone she could rely on on a whole other level, compared to the others. The dogs walked silently next to them. They were bloody after they had attacked some B.O.W.'s who had made it to the surface, but the blood didn't become them, they even seemed to be pleased. She followed Wesker through the facility, seeing he seemed to know the way. This one was built differently, maybe because it pretended to be a normal factory, and needed to be working as such. In a way it was like the mansion, who looked like a normal mansion, until you reached the labs.
"We have killed part of their team, sir" one of the solder stated and Wesker only answered 'Roger'. It didn't really matter if they killed the team or not, the only kills that was of important was Leon and Jill. Cara doubted that they knew about their plans, and what they were doing, but they could still get in their way. She decided that she needed to start collecting information about BSAA, when she arrived at home.
"If you can, take one or two of them alive" she radioed and Wesker looked at her. "I would like to collect some information"
Wesker raised an eyebrow before he smirked, and they continued running.

"Hello Comrade" The man looked at Wesker before he turned towards her "And fair Lady"
"So this is it" Wesker almost ignored the man and looked at the Red Queen. Cara wasn't sure what she had expected, but it wasn't that.
"Yes, she was active that night in the mansion. I extracted her before Raccoon City became nothing more than a memory. Her and I have a lot in common. She always wants to learn the truth, no matter how painful that truth is"
"That thing is merely a tool. What it wants, is something the user determent for it"
"It's good that we can be honest with each other, it's a sign of a healthy relationship. It's a shame that this friendship has to end" Cara sighed, being able to guess where this was heading.
"Is it required for everyone at Umbrella to inject themselves with something?" she asked sarcastically as the man turned, jumping out of his way. Wesker didn't answer her, only smirking at the man before he started shooting.

Cara looked at the dead man on the ground, as he melted.
"Don't touch that" she ordered the dogs as they were on the way towards the man. They gave her a look before they walked over and she patted them. "You did good"
The dogs had been able to attack the man's legs, in the end making it almost impossible to move. When the dogs seemed what satisfied she stood up and turned towards Wesker.
"You always have such lovely friends."
"I do my best not to disappoint you" Cara just shook her head as she walked over, looking at the data he transformed.
"You know, I don't really know why you want this information" she leaned towards the panel, meeting his eyes, behind the sunglasses.
"Two reasons, I need their research for my own, and I wish to find someone"
"Thank you for the informative answers" she teased him and he gave her a surprising look, before he was on his way to explain. "No need, tell me when you are ready"
"You are perfect Dear Heart"
"Oh, have we moved into nicknames now?" she teased once more and for a second she thought she saw Wesker blush, but as soon as she thought it, it was gone. "But you know what, I like it"
Wesker didn't answer her, turning to the computer when the transfer was completed.
"Well that's it, time to go home and give this information to Barry" Cara was about to head out when she saw a monitor of Jill and Leon, alive.
"Hm and here I was, hoping they would be dead, well you can't get everything"
"We could kill them"
"Yes, but I am not interested in running around, searching for them, and now they have backup." She looked at the two, and how they soon were reunited with their team "Anyway, it's better that they don't know that we were here"
Normally she didn't like to leave things unfinished, but she really didn't wish to search the facility for them, and then have to fight them and there men off. Wesker only nodded as he deleted all of Umbrella's files, shutting down the facility.

"Found anything Kiddo?" Barry stepped up behind her, where she was sitting in front of the computers. When they had returned, she had set up a working space in the basement. She knew she could be more of use to them this way, than trying to learn more about viruses so she could work with them. From here she could collect information, contact people, make plans and everything else they need.
"A few things" she glanced at Barry, just as Wesker came over. "Umbrella spread a rumour that you had samples of both the T-virus and the G-virus. They didn't attack your family, even if that most likely was there intention. They offered a reward to anyone who returned the samples to them, but they had strict order not to hurt you, but stated nothing for your family. The ones attacking you seemed to be a part of the Organization"
"Who started the rumour?" Cara could hear how upset Barry was, and she understood him.
"Of that I am unsure, I need to do more research to find that"
"Does it say who killed them?" Cara handed over some files she had pulled, knowing that Barry would want that information.
"This is everything I have found, connected to your family. This is said to be the men who killed your family. I can't say if it's true or not, at least not yet. Umbrella may blame them, hoping that you would find out and kill them, to hide the truth from you. I will make some more research"
Barry only grunted as he started walking away, already reading the files. Cara looked after him with a worried look, but for now she wouldn't do anything.

"Is it to your satisfaction?" Wesker's voice made her turn towards him instead.
"It is. I still have a long way to go, but you have to start somewhere, right"
"You found his location?"
"Not yet, he has hide it well, so I need more time" Wesker nodded, they had only been home for a few days, and she had already sorted out a lot of the information, but she had a long way to go. "This is what I have collected about the different type of viruses yet, it's only the top of the iceberg"
Wesker didn't answer, being well aware of that, as he started skimming the files.
"And BSAA?"
"The agents helped. The first one told me everything he could, I had to hurt him a bit, but after that, it was hard to make him stop talking. I think he feared I would kill him if he didn't tell me everything, didn't make much difference in the end, killed him anyway" she couldn't keep him alive. She had no interest in having a prisoner, and she couldn't let him go.
"And the other one?"
"Still working on him, hoping I can make him turn and join us instead"
"You think he will?"
"I think there is a chance, and if not, I have to kill him as well" she simply said and Wesker leaned closer and kissed her. "But it would be preferable if he joined us, I could collect so much more information"
Cara turned towards the screens, looking over the work they did, most of them sorted the information from Red Queen at this point, while a few of them collected data out from different serves.
"Let me know if you need anything" Wesker told her as he started to leave her desk.
"Wesker" she turned her chair around to look at him. "I should have told you sooner, but you made me too upset. But I love you too"
Wesker smirked at her, before he kissed her again.
"I already knew that"
"Don't get too cocky" was all she answered as she returned towards the screens and Wesker continued walking again.
