Empire Games Arc
A/N: The eleventh and final day of the Empire Games has arrived. So far, the shadow monsters have not made a move, which concerns the knights. However, the Imperial Alliance makes a daring move against the Lionheart Forces. With time now against them, can the knights find the enemy or will the enemy find them first? Meanwhile, Goku enters the arena to fight against Jia. Who will win? Find out in 'Chapter 12: Finals.'

Chapter 12: Finals
Travis, Lucia, and Leon walk into the courtroom, wondering why the Imperial Alliance has called upon them. Travis and his companions walk into the room, noticing the other rulers sitting around a large table. He and Lucia look at each other before his wife shrugs. Travis notices an empty chair and decides to sit down.
"Okay, I'm here," said Travis. "What's the problem?"
"Recently, we come to believe that your group is too dangerous to stay together," said Thalia. "After the finals today, you are to disband your group and return them to their respective planets."
"Excuse me?' inquired Travis. "No, I will not do that. My group is the only ones standing between the shadow monsters and your precious alliance."
"If you do not disband, we will be forced to arrest you," said Thalia. "Since you do not have a kingdom, there is no need to hold back against you. Is this understood?"
"What?" questioned Travis as he stands up, only to cause the other rulers to narrow their eyes.
'The shadow monsters have been defeated," said Lycus. "There is no need to gather people for a cause that does not exist."
"Travis, you've been a good friend, but right now, it is best to stop this nonsense," said Hanzo. "No need to antagonize us. We are simply looking out for the best of the universe."
"You have forty-eight hours to disband your group after the final match ends," said Kazuki. "If you do not, then you will face the consequences."
"Dismissed!" exclaimed Thalia as Travis turns to leave with Lucia and Leon.
Around ten minutes later, Travis stops in the middle of the hallway, his eyes full of anger. This entire time, he has tried to save the universe, but the Imperial Alliance has set against him. Lucia and Leon look at each other, worry about Travis and their cause. Suddenly, they hear two figures approach them, causing the group to turn. Li and Anastasia look at Travis with sad expression.
"Forgive us," said Li. "We tried to help you, but the others are so set against you."
"Our voices were useless in the meetings we had," added Anastasia.
"Don't apologize," said Travis. "You've done what you could. Now, I must do what I can. The darkness is there, but they seem to not want to recognize it."
"We cannot force them to see," said Anastasia. "All we can do is hope, but I do agree to some point. There have been no signs of the shadow monsters."
"They are out there," said Lucia. "But they only act on small scales confrontations. We fear they may launch a large attack because having all rulers here at one spot is too big to pass."
"Just be prepared," said Travis.
Travis, Lucia, and Leon leave a concern Li and Anastasia. The two rulers look at each other before turning their attention back to the empty hallway. They only hope for the best.

Two hours later, Thalia, Li, Anastasia, Kazuki, Hanzo, and Lycus stand at the balcony, the people cheering for them. Thalia looks around, before turning her attention to the other rulers and then turning her attention to Travis, who remains silent at his chair. Thalia returns her attention to the audience raising her right hand to silence them.
"Welcome to the final day of the 78th Empire Games!" exclaimed Thalia. "I want to thank everyone who has participated in each game for the past few weeks. For that, I am thankful, for it keeps the peace amongst us. Now, let us end the games with a brilliant show of our final two contestants! I open the eleventh day of the tournament!"
The audience cheers, as the rulers head to their seats. Meanwhile, the announcer heads to the podium, elsewhere, raising his mic to his mouth.
"Now, ladies and gentlemen, we shall commence the final rounds of the Empire Tournament!" said the announcer. "Please welcome, the first competitor, Goku of the Lionheart Forces!"
The first set of doors open, Goku walks towards the entrance to the arena. He looks back as Ichigo, Naruto, Inuyasha, Luffy, and Natsu give him their support. Goku smiles as he walks into the arena, the people cheering for him.
"Now, welcome the next competitor, Jia of the Kurosawa Empire!" shouted the announcer.
For once, the people start booing, surprising numerous rulers, since they did not expect it. Hanzo grumbles a bit as Jia walks into the arena. It has been two days since his previous match. Luckily, the medics have healed him completely. Jia walks into the center of the arena, with a piss expression. Goku knows this man is not happy with the outcome of the previous fight.
"A warrior should not hold grud…," said Goku, but Jia interrupts him.
"Shut up," said Jia. "I simply don't care. I'm only here to find something to punch into oblivion."
Goku sighs as he enters a fighting stance. Jia narrows his eyes, taking out his two sais in the process.
"I'm not in the mood to play games," said Jia. "I'll defeat you easily."
Jia shouts as he increases his power. He does not smirk as he usually does, but Goku can still sense the power emitting from this man. Jia takes a few steps forward, expecting Goku to cower in fear, but to his surprise, the saiyan does not move an inch.
"I see you don't plan on holding back," said Goku. "Fine, I'll show you what you are getting into."
Goku transforms into his super saiyan state before moving up to the second level.
"Ah, the power you used to defeat your previous opponent," said Jia. "Good, you are not holding back. What is this form called?"
"It is known as super saiyan 2," replied Goku.
"Interesting," said Jia. "No matter though, it will not be enough to stop me. Shall we end this?"
"It's only begun," said Goku.
Suddenly, Jia appears behind Goku, causing the super saiyan to turn around as quickly as he can. However, Jia slams a powerful knee into Goku's stomach, causing the super saiyan to double over.
"You're weak," said Jia, kicking Goku into the sky.
Jia unleashes a powerful blast of wind, hitting Goku directly while causing numerous cuts to form around the super saiyan. Jia charges forward, kicking Goku in the face, sending the super saiyan crashing to the ground. Goku grumbles as he tries to regain his focus, but Jia does not give him the chance, striking Goku at numerous areas of his body. Jia gathers energy into his sais, unleashing them upon Goku again.
"Is this it?" asked Jia. "I had more of a challenge from Ada…."
Jia narrows his eyes as a powerful force erupts from the cloud of dust, blowing all the particles away. He watches in surprise, as a different Goku appears from the dust cloud.
"Meet my super saiyan 3 form," said Goku, his long hair reaching his lower back, electricity charging around him.
"This is ne…," started Jia only for Goku to slam a powerful punch in his face.
Jia clenches his teeth, the force of the impact sending Jia crashing to the ground. Goku lands on the terrain only a few feet away as Jia stands back up. The two fighters stare at each other, their expressions serious.
"I might as well make this interesting," said Jia.
Goku's eyes widen as he feels the surge of power from Jia, forcing him to raise his arms in defense. Jia slashes Goku's arm, causing the super saiyan to shout in pain as Jia kicks him in the face, sending Goku crashing to the ground. Goku jumps back up just in time to block Jia's next attack. The two fighters stare at each other, trying to break the other's defense. Goku clenches his teeth, as Jia disappears. The super saiyan looks around, searching for his opponent, only to receive a powerful punch to his stomach. Suddenly, he feels numerous cuts form around his body as a sai pierces his back.
"You are far too weak," said Jia, kicking Goku back.
Goku clenches his teeth as Jia continues to increase his power. A few seconds later, the two fighters clash as Jia kicks Goku in the chin before slashing him across the chest. Jia soars to the sky, the wind flowing around him. Jia shouts, wings forming from his back as well as a tail. Instantly, Goku recognizes the form as he prepares for the fight. Jia appears in front of Goku and unleashes numerous strikes at the super saiyan. Goku surprises Jia, kneeing the holy in the stomach. Jia's dark feather wings extend outward before flapping. It creates a powerful blow of wind, sending Goku backwards a bit. Jia charges forward, slamming Goku to the ground, creating a large crater in the process. The holy jumps up and form numerous balls of energy.
"Let's see you survive this!" shouted Jia as he unleashes the balls of energy straight into the ground.
Jia remains motionless, as the dust cloud begins to clear. Suddenly, a figure appears from the dust cloud, revealing a battered Goku. The super saiyan looks at Travis, who nods at him. Goku smiles a bit, it looks the gloves are off.
"I'm really excited," said Goku. "This is a fight I'm happy to be in. Now, I don't have to hold back."
"Excuse me?" inquired Jia as he a powerful shockwave erupts from Goku.
Jia's eyes widen as Goku's hair turns black and shorts to his shoulders. Red lines appear around his eyes as red fur forms on his upper body. The tail behind him also turns red. Goku shouts as he releases a powerful shockwave of power. Jia looks on in shock, surprised by this display of power.
'Who is he?' thought Jia.
Goku releases a breath, as he looks at Jia.
"How about we stop holding back?" asked Goku, causing Jia to clench his teeth.
"It does not matter," said Jia. "In the end, I will win this fight. I refuse to have another humiliating match!"
Jia charges forward, unleashes two powerful gust of wind at Goku, who easily dodges them, but Jia strikes Goku in the back with a powerful kick. Goku soars a bit before regaining his composure.
"Indeed more powerful, but still weaker," said Jia.
"Is that so?" questioned Goku. "We'll see."
Goku charges forward with amazing speed, surprising Jia, who barely manages to raise his defense. The two fighters unleash a series of attacks, clashing with each other as best they can. Instantly, Jia knows Goku has become faster than he has, but this does not change the outcome. Jia grinds his teeth, gathering wind around his weapons as he charges forward. He thrusts his sais forward only to miss Goku, but he smirks as a burst of wind occurs from said weapons, hitting Goku with full force. Jia disappears only to strike Goku in the back. The two fighters exchange a series of attacks again, as Goku managed to recover instantly. Jia charges forward, hitting Goku in the stomach, sending the super saiyan to the ground. Jia rushes at Goku trying not to give the super saiyan a chance to regroup. Goku shakes his head and opens his eyes only to realize Jia charging at him. Jia slams his sai straight into Goku's chest, but to his surprise, Goku catches his wrist, stopping the blades from piercing him.
"Why you…," started Jia as he applies more force into his body.
The ground beneath Goku begins to crack as a large crater forms. Goku clenches his teeth, trying to keep the weapons at bay, as he feels the ground beneath him cave in. The crater becomes bigger as both fighters disappear from the audience's view.
"Just surrender!" exclaimed Jia. "You should do it now!"
"Never!" exclaimed Goku.
"Fool," said Jia as he gathers energy into his sais. "Let's see you survive this one!"
Before Jia has the chance to do anything, Goku knees him in the stomach. The super saiyan releases his grip and punches the unfocused Jia, sending the Cobra Warrior towards the sky, losing any energy gathered in his sais. Goku kicks Jia away as he jumps back up, gathering energy into his hands. Goku shoots two beams of energy at Jia, hitting the holy directly. Jia grunts in pain as Goku appears and double kicks him in the cheek. Goku twirls his body around and then slams another powerful kick into Jia's left side, sending the Cobra Warrior crashing to the ground. Jia lifts his upper body, struggling due to his shaking arms.
'Why?' thought Jia. 'First Adair, now this pathetic low-life!'
Goku remains motionless, staring at Jia with a serious expression.
"What are you waiting for?" asked Goku.
Jia grinds his teeth, charging at Goku with amazing speed. Goku sidesteps the attack and then knees Jia in the stomach. Jia's armor cracks as Goku unleashes a series of attacks upon the Cobra Warrior. Jia slams into the ground, feeling weird. Goku lands near him, staring at the fallen warrior. Jia flips himself over and uses his elbows to sit up. He looks up at Goku and starts to chuckle a bit.
"Why are you laughing?" asked Goku.
Jia stands back up, taking out a small piece of liquid. He smirks as his original mood returns.
"It is time," said Jia. "No more wasting on this stupid tournament!"
Jia drinks the liquid, his energy returning, his injuries gone. The announcer shouts on his mic, stating that Jia should not be using outside substances to recover his strength. Suddenly, everyone goes quiet as something sounds off in the distance.
"What was that?" asked Li, who stands up searching around the city with his senses.
A few seconds later, a soldier walks into the balcony, surprising the rulers as they look at his concern.
"Lady Thalia! The Megalos Rebels have appeared!" shouted the guard. "Deimos, leads them!"
Immediately, Thalia stands up and starts ordering her troops to prepare for battle.
"Out of all days, now!" shouted Thalia. "This family feud ends here!"
Travis looks around for a moment. He looks at Lucia, who nods at him. He, Lucia, Leon, Damion, and Lynton prepare to leave.
"Where are you going?" asked Kazuki. "Is this your doing?"
"Fool even now, you blame me?" inquired Travis. "Right now, we have bigger problems."
Meanwhile, Jia jumps to sky and begins to shoot numerous beams of energy to the arena, disappearing from sight. Goku, attempts to follow him, but realizes he can no longer sense the man's energy. Goku sighs, returning to his normal form before flying towards Travis.
"What now?" asked Goku.
"We regroup," said Travis. "It seems our attempts to find the enemy failed, but we came prepared. This is just the first wave."
The battle has begun.
