A.N.: Heyo! Welcome back to another chapter of this here story.
REPLIES TO REVIEWS
ChocoChomper: Exactly. Damasen makes excellent stew. While Bob may be immune to the Arai's curses, Damasen is an originally peaceful giant- and, I'm sorry to say, but Bob was not peaceful when he was Iapetus, was he? And yeah, I hate that shield too. Of course, part of the reason may be because that asshole Hercules used to own it, so yeah.
The issue of Tantaros's mortality or lack thereof will be discussed in this chapter. Also, a book in Festus's POV? I'd give good money to read that.
CHAPTER 12
As Tantaros walked, he sensed his mother behind him. It seemed like she wanted to talk.
"So, son, what did you think of D-Damasen?" she asked quietly.
"Just that he is a giant with a bigger attitude." Gaea looked at him curiously ."No offence, of course, seeing as he is my brother."
He thought of changing the subject, and asked a question he had wanted to ask. "Mom, if both you and dad are immortals, and if my understanding is correct, I should be a titan level. Or a primordial level. Anyway, I should be immortal. Yet there have been many times when I came close to death. Why and how?"
Gaea looked shocked. "You almost died?"
"You have no idea. I barely survived through my time at sea, and when I went off to some foreign lands, a couple of monsters attacked me."
Gaea gave him a stern look. "We'll talk about this later. And I won't forget, son. I have a long memory."
"Anyway, yes, you should be immortal. However, you are not so when away from Tartarus, or even these lands I have come to call Greece. Since Tartarus lies under the whole of Greece, yeah, you weren't immortal when in… what do you call the lands? Oh yes, Bharat."
"So, does that mean I am immortal now? The readers want to know."
"Who?"
Tantaros frowned. "I have ever had that thought. Do you always feel that we are in some kind of story?"
Gaea stared at him as if he had grown a second head. "I will take that as a no, then."
Finally, the bridge ended at the threshold of the huge mansion he had seen earlier. The mansion was completely black; black marble inlaid with black jewels and black columns, hallways, everything. Even the mansion itself was clouded in black mist. But one snap of Tartarus's fingers and the mist is ripped away. It revealed a huge mansion.
Tantaros, master of description, right here. You're welcome.
Anyway, the style of architecture was unlike that back in Bharat. The roof was adorned with pictures of…well, he couldn't see, since they were inlaid as black upon black. Similar inscriptions were laid on the doors. One inscription was different, however. It was white inlaid on black. He touched the inscription. The word seemed familiar…
"Nyx, the Primordial of Night,"
"That would be me."
Tantaros looked beyond. Beside the mansion was a garden of sorts, with everything made of black. Coming towards them was a woman. She had completely black eyes and pale skin. She wore a black dress, black shoes, black jewelry, and had midnight black hair. The hair were dotted with- you guessed it- a lighter shade of black, although he did not have any idea how black had even two shades.
Tartarus smiled. "Greetings, sister."
Nyx did not return the smile. Instead, her gaze focused on Tantaros, or it seemed to. It is difficult to know where people are looking when the whole of their eye is a single shade of a single color.
"Who is this young immortal? I have not seen him in these parts before."
Gaea scoffed. Of course you haven't. He is not from here. And even if he was, you would not recognize him. You keep fawning over your Ponies."
Nyx's cheeks grew golden. "Hey! Atleast I have a chariot. You don't even own one!"
Tantaros saw them bicker like children. Then the idea suddenly struck him.
"Lady Nyx," he said, bowing down. "I am honored to be in your presence. I am Tantaros, son of Tartarus and Gaea . My mother has told me much about you, and as such, you are my favorite Aunt."
If possible, Nyx's cheeks grew more golden.
Gaea gave him an appraising look. Nyx finally smiled, showing pearly white teeth.
"Why, young immortal, you are quite the gentleman! And, from your declaration, you are my Nephew, aren't you?"
"Yes, Lady Nyx."
"Oh, stop with that Lady nonsense. It's just Nyx. Or Aunt."
Gaea cleared her throat, and asked Nyx for a room for the, well, night.
Nyx immediately agreed, and guided them though her pitch black house to a pitch black room, with a doubles bed and a single bed.
Tantaros took the single one, leaving Gaea no choice but to lay with Tartarus. When she lay down, Tartarus snaked an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. Gaea blushed and muttered 'pervert' but snuggled closer to him. Tantaros looked at them, and finally felt that his family was complete.
