"I'll give credit where credit is due..." Vaas laughed. "You really don't like giving up, do you?" I looked up at him, my vision so blurry, I could just barely make his figure out. My whole body shook... Blood seeped onto the floor by my head, and my bones felt broken. Breathing was nearly impossible. I was heaving my chest constantly just to get a single breath. Vaas used his boot, and rolled me over on my back. The taste of blood in my mouth was so strong, I wanted to gag, but all I could manage was a hoarse cough, and then up came more blood. I turned on my good.. well.. better side, and spit. Blood splattered on the floor just a couple of inches away. Why... Why was I doing this? Getting my ass kicked, and for what? For someone who has probably forgotten about me, and left me for dead? I raised up a little, and shook my head. Forcing myself to stop the flow of harsh thoughts, I managed to get to my knees. Even if Jason did leave me for dead now, it didn't matter. I was not giving up his position... I was hoping that Riley was able to find his way to a village, or some friendly natives... If he did, there was no doubt in my mind that he found his way to Jason... They could all be at the cave right now, working on getting the rest of their group...

"Hey!" Vaas' voice made me look up at him. He stood in front of me now, and I was barely able to stay in the position I had gotten myself into. I was so weak... He crouched down in front of me, and seemed to study me for a minute. A smile appeared on his lips. I saw his hand coming toward my face, and my only reaction was to move away. I jerked my head away, and looked at him, my right eye not fully being able to open, a large cut being stretched down it. He pulled his hand back, and hesitated. "Shhh. It's okay." He soothed, his voice actually had a calming tone to it. He moved a lot slower this time as he moved his hand to my face. He brushed the loose strands of hair from my face, back behind my ears. He held my head between both of his hands, and just looked at me, while holding that same smile. "Bambi. I think you are misunderstanding me." He said. "It is simple. I know you know where Brody is... Tell me where he is, and this all goes away." He still had that calming affect. I stated at him for a moment, trying to decide between my options. Tell him where Jason was, get him, Riley, and the rest of his friends killed, and I get left alone, for a short period of time, or endure this now, and keep them safe... That was an easy choice. I didn't speak, I just continued to look at him. Vaas' smile faded, and he let go of my head, and rested his elbows on his knees. "Oh Bambi..." He sighed. "Why are you trying to protect someone who doesn't give a fuck about you?" I continued to look at him for a few moments, but then slowly let my gaze fall to the floor. Did Jason really not care what happened to me? I shook it off, and looked back up at Vaas.

"I don't feel like my life is worth theirs." My words were quiet, and soft, yet I was choking over them. Vaas titled his head a little.

"So where does that leave us?" He asked. I narrowed my eyes very slightly as he took his already bloody knife, and cut the ropes that had bound me since we came in this hellish room. Softly, I rubbed my wrists, and looked up at him. I thought for a moment. I tried so hard to fight against him... Saying things no sane human being would, doing things that could get me killed on the spot, along with whoever was with me, but yet, here I sat, looking at the man who had already caused so much fear and pain to me, scared for my life, and too cowardly to do anything... Why? Why did I fight against him so hard? It always failed... Always. I slowly reached, and took the silver orchid necklace that had been hidden within my shirt the entire time, and clutched my right hand around it. When I was little, my dad always taught me, stand up for myself, and not to let others push me around, don't let people see you cry, like he did when he was my age. I took those words to heart, and stuck to it. I never let anyone treat me like dirt, or push me around, and I never cried, but now, this man.. Vaas was doing the same exact thing I had fought against for years... I came to a single conclusion. I just couldn't do it anymore. How could I stand up for myself, when I barely knew who I was anymore? For the first time since I arrived here, I felt my eyes water up, and with the next blink, a tear fell from my left eye. Slowly, it rolled down my cheek, and dropped down onto the floor. I just stared at the floor for a few moments.

"You do whatever you have to do."

Useless, coward, pathetic, addict. These are a few of the words he used against me... Words he forced on me as he threatened my life with a knife. What was worse, was he was right. I was everything that he told me... I just hadn't realized it until now. Now I sat against the wall, blankly looking up at the ceiling. Vaas was pacing the room, and I swear I could just see his thoughts spinning inside that scarred head of his. I didn't dare move... Not that I thought Vaas would do something, it just hurt so bad I didn't even want to know what I looked like. I had several cuts on my arms and legs both. Caused by both Vaas, and the several times I took a hit, and went to the ground, which was littered with broken glass that looked like it could have been there for a couple of weeks. My shirt was badly cut up, and my jeans were sliced in several different places. I had trouble breathing, and it was hard to sit here like this... Like some kind of animal who did wrong. Hearing the door open and close, I lifted my head up, and looked with my good eye. Another pirate had walked in, and he stood, gun in hands, just standing. Vaas suddenly stopped, and stared at him.

"What the fuck do you want? Huh?" Vaas' voice was extremely harsh, and irritated. The man didn't speak, he simply held something out to him. Vaas took it from the mans hand, and sent him out. After a second glance, I realized it was a piece of folded paper. He unfolded it, and seemed to freeze for a moment. Within the next moment, he crumbled the piece of paper in his fist, and threw it behind him. He walked to me now. Grabbing me by hair, he yanked me up. I let out a loud yelp, but he just grabbed my hair next, and hauled me to the front door. I didn't remember going out the door, or ending up on the ground, but that's where I was. The pain was so bad, I was passing out at moments, only to be woken up again. Two different men got me to my feet, and I could hear Vaas yelling, but I couldn't make out his words through my fuzzy hearing, but he might have been talking in Spanish as well. A knew we were heading back toward the cages, but what surprised me, was when we went straight past my cage. I could make out Sam's voice, calling my name. She was screaming, crying, very frantic. I blinked softly, trying to clear my vision fully, but it only seemed to get worse. The walk seemed like forever. I actually fought to keep awake, terrified of what might happen if I completely blacked out. Finely, the ground below stopped moving, so I just barely lifted my head. Vaas was just ahead, a large shipment container sat, settled nicely on the ground. I watched as Vaas opened it, and opened both doors wide. Just like a couple of dogs on command, Vaas called the two men forward, and we were moving again. The two men carried me into the container, and without notice, dropped me to my knees. I was on the edge of blacking out, but the sound of clanking metal kept me from shutting my eyes, when a sudden rush of cold water hit me. I gasped, the cold rush taking my breath away. Quickly, I gasped for air, causing my ribs to hurt more and more. My hair stuck to my shoulders, neck, and face by the cold water. I looked up at Vaas, wide eyed. He smiled, as he crouched down right in front of me, placing the now empty bucket to the side. He didn't even speak before he took his knife, and grabbed the bottom of my shirt. With one quick moment, the shirt was completely cut, and he yanked to the side. I didn't really know how to respond. Everything was getting very escalated very quickly. Finely, catching my breath, I just watched Vaas. He stood up, and looked down at me. We stayed like this for a moment, before Vaas brought a boot to my shoulder, shoving me down onto my back. Vaas reached over to his left, and within a second, the doors slammed shut, and darkness completely surrounded us.

His foot came off my shoulder, and I lost him in the darkness above. Slowly, I eased myself up. Carefully, making sure not to cause any more pain to myself. I was able to get on my knees, and looked around me. Trying to adjust my already sore eyes to the darkness proved difficult. I gave a weak groan as I rubbed my forehead, and tried to keep my head from spinning with each movement. I was still shaking, from both the cold water, and the fear that Vaas was somewhere in this room with me, but I didn't know where... I finely caught the slightest sound of his boot scraping against the concrete floor.

"Hoyt is getting impatient." He stated, that amused tone to his voice. His voice made me jump, the sound seemed like it was coming from right behind me. It felt like my heart froze in my chest, and my remaining breath was heavy. A few more foot steps later, and I felt his presence in front of me. There was a small pause, but then a dim light lit up his face, which was literally just inches from mine. I jerked my head back, and regretted it immediately. I quickly settled forward on my knees again, and looked at him. "Last chance, Bambi." He said, smiling. I kept my face as emotionless as possible, and didn't speak. After a moment of silence, Vaas nodded, then laughed softly. "I think its time me and you had a little fun again! Huh? What do you think?" He was laughing as he stood up, and walked around behind me. I listened to his foot steps, but didn't look. He walked for a second, then stopped. There was the sound of metal clanking together, and then the sound of something sliding along the floor. Some clanking and rustling later, Vaas returned, but this time stayed behind me. My wrists were yanked behind me, and I felt the pair of handcuffs tighten around my wrists, but not too tight, which was a bit weird. Vaas always wanted to cause people pain, so giving me comfortable handcuffs was unlike him. He let my wrists go, and they rested against my lower back. Vaas seemed to go silent for a few moments. I didn't hear him anywhere, and that's what frightened me the most. When he did pop back up, he gave me a hard boot to the shoulder blade, sending me nearly face first to the harsh floor. I was in a bent position, but Vaas kicked my knees out from under me, and ended up in a laying position. I ground my teeth in pain, but tolerated it. Before I knew it, Vaas was crouching in front of me again, the dim light was back. It was the look in his eyes that caused me to start squirming, and pulling at the cuffs. It was nothing more then sadistic... As if something horrible was about to happen to me... and he was about to inflict it. It made my skin crawl, causing me to fight harder. Vaas just gave another laugh, and carefully took my head by my jaw, and made me look at him. "Shh, hermana. You'll be taken care of nicely... I promise." My eyes sort of widened at his words, but those evil eyes were the last thing I saw before the dim light flickered out, engulfing us in darkness once again.

It's been far too long my friends! Once again, I'm terribly late, but do not fret, this story is FAR from dead. The last few months have been rough for me, but hopefully I'm back now, and ready to go again. So this is a pretty 'dark' chapter, but the ones to come will be more... eh, productive? Another chapter will come shortly. Thank you for reading, and as always, reviews are greatly appreciated, and I hope you enjoy my story ~ Viper
