Some unpublished leftover Kyousaya from a previous chapter of A Happy Dream! It works on its own, so no use in wasting a perfectly good deleted scene.

"Aaaand, done!" Kyoko announced smugly as Sayaka gave an impressed whistle.

"Wow," Sayaka commented as she eyed the plate of spaghetti Kyoko had put together, complete with pasta, sauce, and meatballs that she had helped make. "Not half bad." Kyoko placed an impressive helping on Sayaka's plate and handed it to her. "You must be proud."

"A little, yeah," Kyoko admitted as she helped herself to an even bigger helping of spaghetti. "It's been a while since I've tried cooking dinner." A dinner that she didn't have to put together from found scrap food to boot.

"It's been a while for me too, now that I think about it," Sayaka mused aloud, getting chopsticks for herself and Kyoko. "Living alone, I got a little used to eating junk food or going out to eat."

"Sounds good to me. If you can eat well, then eat well, you know?" Sayaka handed Kyoko her chopsticks.

"Want to watch a movie?" the blunette offered, inclining her head to the living room.

"Sure," Kyoko thought dinner and a movie sounded ideal and repressed a grin. They headed towards the couch and Kyoko plopped herself down, plate of food on her lap while Sayaka started playing with her disc player.

"What do you want to watch?"

"I don't care," Kyoko commented, saying a small prayer in her head before separating her chopsticks and digging in to her food.

"Random movie it is." Sayaka closed her eyes and waved her finger in the air before randomly pointing at a title. When she opened her eyes, she groaned. "Great, romantic comedy," she grumbled as she popped the disc in.

"What's the problem, Ms. Romantic, aren't you into this crap?" Kyoko asked as Sayaka trudged to the couch sat down on the cushion next to Kyoko. Sayaka just shrugged in response to the question, picking at her food. The couch faced a wall instead of a traditional television, but as soon as the movie started the wall lit up like a projector screen for the movie. Kyoko shook at her head at how over the top cool it was.

Sayaka grimaced as the movie went on. The story was hitting a little too close to home. Girl meets boy, becomes friends with boy, girl has to find a way to tell boy she loves him even though boy has a thing for goats. Goats? Goats. She felt like a carton of ice cream and a box of tissues would be all too appropriate right now. But all she had at the moment was spaghetti and Kyoko. Not her ideal comfort items, but she was going to have to make do.

"Say, Kyoko," Sayaka tentatively started.

"Hm?" Kyoko said distractedly, oddly drawn into the film on the big screen. Sayaka, seeing the spaghetti dangling from the redhead's mouth, debated whether she should share anything at all! But she cleared her throat and pressed on.

"Have you ever been… in love?" Sayaka finally asked as the way to introduce the subject. Kyoko paused and turned to the blunette. Sayaka raised a brow as Kyoko looked at her silently for a moment before turning back to the screen.

"Nah," Kyoko answered the question with confidence and finality, punctuating her statement with a slurp of her spaghetti. She then made a face as she realized she took way too big a bite of spaghetti.

Her opening of conversation shot down, Sayaka tried to figure out how she would proceed. "Well, uh, it sucks, I guess…" she grumbled, twirling her chopsticks in her in her plate.

"Your balls are too big, Sayaka," Kyoko said after she was able to successfully swallow down her too-large portion.

The blunette blinked at the randomness of that statement. "Huh?"

"I gave you one job in the kitchen, and you managed to screw it up. Your meatballs are freaking huge!" Kyoko pointed at them with her eating utensils.

Sayaka just stared for a moment before letting out a breath of disbelief. "Who in their right mind likes small balls?"

"I like balls that I can fit in my mouth," Kyoko explained with annoyance, attempting to pick up one of the oversized meatballs with her chopsticks.

Sayaka scoffed loudly. "Maybe your mouth is too small for my balls."

Kyoko appeared genuinely offended by such a statement. "How dare you. Do you have any idea how many things I've stuck in my mouth?"

Sayaka snorted and shook her head. "I don't want to know, but I can fit my giant balls into my mouth just fine."

"You've probably had more practice."

"I'm serious!"

"Oh? This I gotta see." Kyoko gave Sayaka her full undivided attention. Sayaka heard the challenge in the other girl's tone and grew smug as she made a show of hefting one of her big meatballs in her chopsticks and popping the thing into her mouth. She gave a small bow of her head as she laboriously chewed away.

Kyoko started to slow clap. "Not gonna lie. That was damn impressive."

"Fankou" (translation: "Thank you") Sayaka attempted to say around her mouthful. Kyoko chortled loudly, turning back to the movie they had been neglecting for the last couple of minutes.

As Sayaka choked down the meatball, she was struck by how damn easy it was to get sidetracked with Kyoko! Could they not have a straight conversation without it devolving into nonsense? "Myoko!" Sayaka tried to restart their conversation again a bit too soon.

"Swallow, idiot," Kyoko reprimanded with her own mouth full. Sayaka rolled her eyes and poked Kyoko gently on the cheek, prompting a chuckle from the other girl. They both chewed and swallowed, Kyoko looking at Sayaka inquiringly.

"Kyoko," Sayaka said again, voice much clearer this time. On screen the girl was telling her love interest how she felt, and he reciprocated. They kissed as passion-filled music flowed from the speakers. "I told Kyousuke that I loved him today," Sayaka admitted, a sheepish tone leaking into her voice. Now that she was sharing, she wasn't so sure what the point of it was.

"Wow. Crazy day for you, huh?" Kyoko commented, not quite as sarcastic as Sayaka knew she could get.

"Yep, pretty much." Sayaka twirled her fork in her hand nervously. "He, uh… Well, he didn't feel the same way."

"He does have a girlfriend."

Sayaka rolled her eyes at that. "Yeah, I noticed."

Kyoko felt a little indifferent towards this news. It had been obvious it wouldn't have gone well for Sayaka. "So what are you going to do about it?" That's what she was really interested in.

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"Yeah, nothing." Sayaka confirmed. "There's nothing I really can do, except give up. I think it's the right thing to do for everyone involved."

"Uh huh." Kyoko couldn't care less about everyone else involved.

"But it's like…" Sayaka trudged forward with her admittance, trying to put her finger on what it was that was making her feel troubled. "I still feel uneasy about it."

"And what's wrong with that, huh?" Kyoko suddenly huffed. Sayaka paused in her musings as Kyoko suddenly commanded her attention with the way she spoke. "You were in love, it ain't gonna be easy to just move on, of course you feel anxious!" Kyoko rationalized with a slightly exasperated tone. "Look, you've found a reason to move on, right? And it's not like you're running away from the problem, right? Then you're doing everything you can possibly do in this situation. All that's left is to stick to it, and you'll be feeling better about your decision in no time," Kyoko finished off seriously.

Sayaka was a little taken aback by her statements, looking at Kyoko with wide eyes. The redhead was looking back at her with an earnest expression.

"Am I wrong?" Kyoko snapped, her exasperation growing in measure as Sayaka continued giving her that dumb look.

"No," Sayaka shook her head slightly, a tiny smile peeking shyly at Kyoko. "You're not wrong, heh," Sayaka couldn't help but laugh quietly to herself. She wasn't sure why, but… Kyoko's words comforted her, the tightness in her chest unknotting somewhat by Kyoko's frank observations.

"Of course I'm not wrong," Kyoko grumbled, going back to shoveling spaghetti into her mouth. "Like I care about how your stupid love life is panning out, honestly…"

Sayaka was a touchy-feely friend by nature, and had the thought that if Madoka was acting so gash darn endearing she would give her a big hug and kiss her face in the most embarrassing way possible.

Kyoko was definitely asking for it though with her attitude. Sayaka decided to shoot for a bit of touchy feely affection and threw an arm around Kyoko's shoulder to pull her in for a sudden hug.

"Ack, get offa me!" Kyoko protested her face being pressed up against Sayaka's without warning. She couldn't help blushing when Sayaka released her with a playful shove. "The hell was that for?"

Sayaka was grinning broadly at her. "Because I felt like it!"

Kyoko rubbed her cheek as if rubbing Sayaka off of her when she was really just hiding her face's reaction to such a thing. "You don't see me punching you in the face whenever I feel like it," she continued to protest sullenly. "Like now for instance." Sayaka stuck her tongue out at her as if daring Kyoko to go ahead. The redhead glared at her. "Stop tempting me, damn you." She really meant that statement in more ways than one.

On screen the goats were becoming sentient and eliminating the cast one by one. At this point of the story it was Sayaka who became engrossed in the events unfolding in the movie, but Kyoko found other things to mull over.

Blood sprayed across the screen as the main character and her love interest hacked their way through an army of goats who wanted to get to their baby from the future, armed with nothing but a donkey's jawbone…

"I thought this was supposed to be a romantic comedy?" Kyoko eventually had to say.

"A romantic comedy in addition to sci-fi horror. I didn't say that?"

"No!"

"Oh." Sayaka probably just fixated on the romantic aspect. "Would you rather see something else?"

"Are you kidding, this movie is fucking awesome," Kyoko answered. Sayaka suppressed a grin and shook her head. Kyoko sure was a weirdo, she thought as she thoroughly enjoyed the film as well with one of her best friends.
