Chapter 10: Spa Weekend

~Kimi's PoV~

"Your bassist is totally cute," I tell Amy as we get our nails. "What's his name?"

"Tanner, he's a junior and my cousin."

"Well, he's so cute. I should talk to him more."

"Just come over to my house, he lives there."

"How come I've never seen him before?" Lil asks. "I've been to your house plenty of times."

"He's usually out with his friends or whatever. Or he's in his room. He comes out when people aren't around."

"The important question is, is he single?" I ask.

"Yes, I think so."

"After this, we need makeovers." I looked straight at Miranda, who I invited after homecoming to get to know her better. Since my brother liked her and she was his friend. Plus, she was in choir with Kayla and Amy. "Sound fun?" I ask her.

"Sure." I knew she felt awkward, not really knowing us.

"I def need pics for Facebook," says Kelly. "Caption, 'Hanging with my Girls'."

I nod. "Emily's gonna be so jealous."

"I hope she does," says Miranda. "She's a total witch."

"Yeah, how are you after she tripped you?" asked Amy. "She's a bitch to me too."

"I'm fine. I just wish she found something better to do."

"She thinks I have a thing for Phil," Kayla says. "Can you believe it? She's made my life hell because she's jealous. She's probably jealous of you two. Miranda is smart and beautiful and Amy is way better looking and can sing like an angel."

"Don't fall in love with me, Kayla. I'm taken," Amy giggles.

"I'm sorry. It's so hard."

~Miranda's PoV~

"Pose!" Kelly says while taking a picture of us doing silly faces and poses. I was having a great time and I was glad Kimi invited me. But I still wasn't sure why. Maybe because I'm friends with her brother. Her invitation caught me off guard but I had to accept, I couldn't pass up getting to know these girls.

Kimi pulls me aside, so the other girls don't hear. "So, having fun?" She was so nice to me.

"Yeah, thanks for inviting me."

"I know we don't know each other much, but any friend of Chuckie's is a friend of mine. You're really nice and I know you'll fit right into our group."

"Thanks," I didn't know what else to say.

Kimi smiled and pulled me back over to the other girls. "Okay! Girl talk!"

We sit in a circle wearing our pajamas. "Girl talk?" I ask.

"Have you ever had girl talk?" Kelly asks.

"I guess, with my friend Emma. But I don't say much, she talks more than I do." I pick at my freshly painted nails.

"Okay," Kimi says. "Has everyone seen that new movie about that girl that falls in love with that guy but she then loses her memory about him?"

Everyone nods but me and Amy. "Not my kind of movie," Amy says.

Everyone then looks at me to see why I hadn't seen the movie. "Romance isn't in my interests."

"Wait, so you don't like romance? Or it's just never happened to you? Or both?" Kimi asks.

"It's not that I don't like it, I just rather watch a different movie than a romance." My cheeks burn and I know I'm blushing about as red as my hair. "I've never had a boyfriend, if that's what you're asking."

"First kiss?" Kelly asked.

"No.."

"Have you ever been asked out?" asks Kayla.

I shake my head. "I'm not the poster child of 'hot'."

"Girl! Don't put yourself down like that! You gotta believe in yourself, Miranda," says Kimi.

I bite my lip. "Confidence isn't in my vocabulary."

"You did a good job at announcing for homecoming," Lil says. "You got up in front of the whole school, I sure wouldn't be able to do that."

"Besides," Amy says. "I can help you work on your confidence."

"Me too," says Kelly. "I have my own little trick to confidence that might be a little different from Amy's."

"What is it?" asks Kimi.

"It's all about what you wear. I'm sorry, but sweaters do not scream confident. My confidence comes from what I wear. I do not dress trashy like Emily but I do show off. You have to know what to show off."

"And she perform with me and my band until she has more confidence," says Amy.

"Let's do this!" Kimi says. Before I can say anything, I'm pulled to my feet and being dragged like a rag doll.

A/N: Okay, so two chapters in one day! Whoo! So, there's going to be about four more chapters of freshmen year. (Sophomore for Chuckie, Miranda, etc.) So, get ready for a summer chapter then another school year. This story is following the rugrats. So, that also means Dil and Angelica and Susie.
