I can't even begin to tell you how long it took me to write this chapter. Talk about writers block. Anyway I hope you enjoy the chapter

Chapter12

"Shane!" I heard my name being called "Shane" there it was again but why where they calling me "Shane wake the fuck up" someone slapped me in the face and I come to remembering what went down before I was knocked out. I jumped to my feet and growled at whoever was standing over me but stopped when I saw it was Paul, he looked concerned "Shane you ok man?" he asked and I nodded my head while I looked around for Ember and Kelly but not finding any trace of them, not even their sent was fresh.

I heard groaning from the ground and saw Seth laying there with Jacob standing over him. He had a line a blood coming from his nose that was already dry but other than that it didn't look like he was hurt anywhere else. I didn't feel like anything was healing or broken and other that a small ache on my head I was feeling fine.

"Where is Ember" Seth asked as he came to and I just looked at him and shock my head, confirming his worst fear. His face went blank and he just sat there like the world had stopped spinning and I had the same feeling. I didn't even know her but it was like I was being pulled in two.

"What happened?" Jake asked and I gave them I grim look. I was feeling like shit at the fact that I couldn't protect my imprint and friend.

"They were talking, I didn't hear about what and when Ember called me over these men came out of the shadows, they literally come out of nowhere. I should have known something was up when I got the feeling that there was danger around but I couldn't see anything" I punch a tree that I was standing next to and the poor thing trembled with the force and there was a dent when I removed my hand. I had broken a few fingers but I could feel that they were already healing "I'm so sorry Seth" he turned to look at me and I could see tears in his eyes but I knew he wouldn't let them fall and neither would I.

"It's not your fault Shane, I should have realised it to" he said with an emotionless voice. He was trying to keep it together but I could see he was hurting from his eyes.

"Who took them?" Jacob asked after a second.

"Alrick he said his name was Alrick" Seth said and the sadness in his eyes changed to anger and I could feel the same emotion start to build inside of me. If I ever found this guy he was going to be a dead man.

"What did you just say?" I turned to see Tasha, Embry and Michael standing a few feet away slightly glowing like the night they arrived at Leah's house. Tasha looked like she was about to have a panic attack and Michael looked almost scared. We had failed to protect her daughter and now we had to deal with her anger.

Ember

I started to come out of the deep dark sleep I was in and I was struggling to remember how I got here. The ground under me was hard and cold and really uncomfortable. I could hear someone crying and slowly things started to come back to me. I remembered being in the park with Kelly when a few men appeared out of nowhere, there was a fight and then darkness. I shot up with the sudden realisation that the crying I was hearing belonged to Kelly; I hoped she wasn't hurt and I would blame myself if she was.

I looked around the dimly lit room and saw her sitting close to me and staring at me with a slight bit of relief in her eyes. She didn't look so great, her hair looked like a birds nest and he clothes were torn and dirty, her feet where still bare and I remembered that she had taken them off the when we were talking.

"Where are we?" I asked as I moved closer to her and she threw her arms over me and cried on my shoulder. I held her trembling body close to mine trying to give her whatever comfort I could offer until she started to calm down and she was able to talk.

"I thought you would never wake up. These men they're so cruel, they come down here every day, so much blood everywhere" I frowned at her and looked around the room again to see what she meant by so much blood and I had to look away for a second before I threw up. I looked back when I was better prepared and saw about a dozen people in cages of chained to the wall. Most of them where men with their shirts off and blood covering their bodies they hardly looked alive and I wanted to gag again but I controlled myself. As my eyes travelled around the room I saw there where tables against a wall filled with all sorts of tools covered in blood and I was extremely thankful we were on the other side of the room from them. "So much blood" I heard Kelly mumble again and I looked at her to see was staring at the wall with a blank expression.

"Kelly! Kelly look at me" I shock he trembling body until she snapped out of it, the look in her eyes was empty, like she had retreated into herself. She looked so lost and sad and I wanted to kill the man who had down this to us. As I looked closer at her dirty face I could see there was a small line of dried blood coming from her hair line and I closed my eyes and concentrated. When I opened them again I could see that the cut was gone and she didn't look lost anymore. I probably did more than just heal a cut. She was calm now and I could see she was becoming herself again, so I decided I could ask a few questions.

"How did we get here?" she took a deep breath before answering me.

"I don't know. After you passed out, that man told his men to take us. I tried to fight back but that awful asshole hit me across the face and I blacked out and woke up in this hell hole" she glared at the room and I was glad she wasn't a little sobbing ball anymore "are we going to die down her?" she asked me suddenly and very seriously.

"No I would never let anything happen to you" I smiled at her trying to offer her some kind of comfort even though I didn't know what was going to happen to us and she smiled back.

"Why? I mean I did make your life a living hell" I shrugged my shoulders and decided to keep quite. When we got out of this I would let Shane explain, so I settled on a the half-truth instead

"I got you into this alive and I'll get you out alive" she nodded her head and smiled at me again.

"She's lying! Although I don't know why" I froze at the sound of an unknown man's voice, I didn't know if that was a bad or good thing. "I mean why wouldn't you want to know that a man that shape shift's into a wo…"

"Who the hell are you?" I shouted before he could say anything else and wondered who this guy was and how the hell he knew what Shane is. I tried looking around the room again to see or hear where the voice came from but still there was nothing "where the hell are you?" he laughed and he sounded so close but I still couldn't see anything.

"So rude of me, number one look up" we did as he asked but still I couldn't see anything, maybe this guy was screwing with us.

"We still can't see you smartass" Kelly replied and I laughed at her, she was getting back to her normal self. At least there could be some laughter in this depressing situation.

"No need to be rude darling but perhaps I needed to be more specific" he paused for a moment and then carried on "I am above you, I'm just kind of in a cell in the wall" I was taken aback by that but it did explain things, I looked around the room one more time and saw a torch burning on the wall about five feet away. I got up -thankful that I wasn't chained to the stupid wall like some of these poor souls- and got the torch. When I got back Kelly was standing a little bit away from where we were just sitting and I shinned the light closer to the now visible cell that was a few feet above the ground. "Now you see me" he joked as he came in to the light. He was good looking in a weird way. He had pale skin and dark hair, the parts that weren't hidden in the shadows appeared to be a dark red brown, it was an unusual colour but beautiful. I walked a little closer so I could make out his face a little better and saw that his eyes were green like mine, my moms and Sasha's

"Who are you?" I asked curiously as I walked even closer, Kelly protested but I ignored her. There was something about this man that looked familiar but then again that was happening a lot lately.

"Luka my name is Luka and may I have the pleasure of knowing yours" Luka as in my mom and aunts brother, it would explain the eyes being the exact same colour. Must be a family trait.

"Luka as in Natasha's and Sasha's brother." It was silent for a while but he come closer to the cell bars to look me in the eyes.

"How do you know that?" he asked carefully. I could understand if he didn't see any familiarities between me and my mom since we only shared the same colour eyes and the room was pretty dark so he couldn't even see that. This man this young looking man was my uncle. It was like the new thing for me to find a new relative every few months.

"I'm ember Natasha's daughter and your niece" I told him softly and smiled at him, he looked at me for a second and then realisation come to him and he gleamed at me.

"Natasha, she's still alive and with a daughter. I can see it now the fire in your eyes is so much like hers. How is she? and Sasha?" he was so eager to know, so excited to find out that his sisters where alive and well it made me wonder how long he had been down here for because I had the impression from my mom and Sasha that they thought he was dead.

"Their good, both with their soul mates" The life that was missing from his eyes came back and he looked better than he did a few minutes ago.

"Uh anyone care to explain what's going on to the outsider?" Kelly looked at us both and I was lost for words. How do you tell you're now friend slash ex enemy about your secret life? I knew I had to, even though I wanted Shane to be the one to do it but it would help her in the long run if I thought about it.

"I can show her if you would like" I looked at Luka confused and he smiled at me "Like you are gifted I am gifted. I can see a person's whole life story to the point of the day I use my gift, I can then project a certain event or amount of time into someone else's mind, it's very handy in times like these" he smiled at me sweetly and although I was a bit uncomfortable with him knowing my entire life's story it would be easier than trying to explain it to her. I nodded my consent and his smiled got impossibly bigger. I turned to Kelly who looked as confused as ever.

"Will you let him show you, trust me you'll understand a lot more this way" she nodded her head and walked over to Luka who had already extended his hand and was ready to show her my memories. I was slightly nervous but knew it was for the best. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes and then she went ridged and stopped moving like some kind of statue and I started to panic. I was just about to break the connection when she took a deep breath and fell to her knees. I rushed over so she could lean on me for support while she caught her breath.

"Did I forget to mention it might be slightly painful" he said with a small laugh and I snapped my head up and glared at him

"Yes you just so happened to forget that simple fact" he laughed and I looked back down at Kelly who was trying to stand up so I helped her, she leaned on the wall for extra support and I looked at her nervously waiting to see what she would think of my weird life. When she finally did look up her eyes were filled with wonder and love. I didn't really get the last part.

"Your life no matter how crap it is right now is awesome, and your wolf is so beautiful and Shane, does he really love me, are we really soul mates" I was shocked in to silence by her response but recovered quickly.

"Well uh thank you and yes you are soul mates but I think the falling in love part comes later like it did for me and Seth" I smiled at her and she nodded her head in understanding.

"I thought I was going crazy, when I looked him in the eyes and felt that deep connection to him but I understand it now" she was taking this really well considering she just found out about it.

"I'm glad you do but why are you not freaking out right now" I asked her before she could go on about her connection to Shane, I heard Luka laugh and I turned away to look at him.

"This little one is keeping a secret granted not a big one. Turns out she's a really huge mythology nerd" I turned to look at Kelly who was now glaring at Luka and laughed a little which earned her glaring at me to

"Sorry but I just wouldn't have taken you as the type" she rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hips.

"Yeah well I wouldn't have placed you as the type to turn into a huge white wolf I guess we are all surprised at something today" she had a point there and I dropped the subject because there were other things we had to worry about right now.

"Well now that you're up to speed. How the hell do we get out" I asked Luka with a hopeful look but when he didn't answer me that hope disappeared and I felt heavy with dread. "We can't can we?"

"I'm afraid not, and you can't even use your telekinesis powers not even your fortune telling power, his given you a potion to take them away temporarily all you have is your healing powers" I got really pissed off at that moment and I wanted to punch him in the fucking face. How dare he take my powers away, I looked around the room at all the broken people around me and decided I would use the one power I still had to undo the torture he had done here.

I walked to the end of the room and started with the women in a cage, I looked at the lock and wrapped my hand around it and squeezed until I heard the metal warp and I smiled at the fact that I still had the advantages of being a wolf.

"What are you doing" Luka called from his cell and I turned to see Kelly looking at me confused. I motioned for her to come help me and she walked over to me slowly and unsure. I opened the cage and the women inside cringed away from me. She had a cut along the side of her face that looked a few days old and there where scars all over her bare arms and legs. She was very pretty with wild black hair that was a long mess of dirt and blood; she had brown chocolate eyes and tan skin. The smell in the cage me made want to gag though.

"Please just kill me, I beg you tell your master I have no will to live a moment longer" she begged me as she cringed at the back of the cage and I looked at her sympathetically. I couldn't even imagine the kind of pain she had been through or any of these people had been through and I was hoping I never would.

"I'm not going to kill you and I'm defiantly not going to hurt you" she looked at me for the first time and I saw the tiniest bit of hope and I wondered where that came from "can you come out and stand" she nodded her head slightly and crawled out of the cage slowly and then proceeded to stand at the same slow pace. When she was finally up I found that she was very tall, even taller than me and I was surprised.

"Who are you" Kelly asked as the girl leaned against a nearby wall, she looked so weak and I hoped I could still hep her.

"My name is Amber daughter of Lana" she said with pride and Luka shouted something from his cage.

"Amber? Its Luka you remember me right?" she looked in that direction and then back at me, her eyes where curious but also guarded. "I thought you were dead!" I rolled my eyes and ignored him for the moment and it looked like she was going to do the same thing

"I need you to be really still" I told her and she nodded her head, I touched her arm and concentrated on all her pain and then did my thing. I heard Kelly take a deep breath and then release it slowly. I opened my eyes and saw Amber touching her face with amazement that the scratch wasn't there anymore, even some of the scars where gone and I felt proud of myself. I smiled and she looked at me for a second before I was wrapped I a tight hag that I returned. She was actually very strong.

"Thank you so much" she whispered in my ear and I could hear the tears in her eyes. I let her go but told her she had to get back in the cage. She didn't look very impressed but I explained that when those assholes came back in here they wouldn't like her being out of it. She sighed and crawled back in reluctantly but before I closed the door she grabbed my arm and looked me in the eyes. "You have the royal eyes" and she closed the door and went back to the corner only this time she was faking the pain.

She called me royalty but I didn't have time to think what that meant for me as I worked my way through the cages and the people on the walls with the help of Kelly. She was reluctant at first but then she was really getting into it. Helping those who couldn't stand while I healed them. They all thanked me and understood why they had to get back into the cage even though they didn't want to. I couldn't do anything about the blood on their bodies as I didn't have any water to wash them down. I arrived at the last guy and he really looked like shit even worse than the others and it didn't look like he would last very long. He was chained up to the wall and was passed out cold so I couldn't even ask for his name but I guess that didn't matter since I was about to heal him. I placed my hand on his shoulder and closed my eyes and when I opened them again he was still out cold. I was seriously worried that it hadn't worked and that he was going to die but then he took in a deep breath, it startled me a little bit. His breathing was fast at first but returned to normal a minute later. He opened his eyes and I was even more shocked to find he was blind.

"Who are you" he looked right at me like he knew I was there and I was confused as shit but I answered anyway.

"I'm Ember" I said as I looked in to his white eyes. He was very good looking. He was probably the same height as Seth and he had dark brown hair that was the length of his shoulders and like every other person he was caked in blood and dirt. "Who are you?"

"Caleb" before he could say anything else there was a commotion at the door and I panicked. I graded Kelly and dragged her towards Luka's cell and we stood there looking at the door waiting

"Ember you need to listen whatever happens you need to know that you can trust a man named Thomas" Luka said as he looked at the door that was now begging to open "do you understand" I nodded my head and he retreated to the back of his cell as a voice come from the now open door, a voice I was hoping never to hear again.

"Your awake finally" I turned around and saw him standing with two other people. The man I remember as Thomas and a guard .Not that I thought he needed one. Luka said I could trust a man named Thomas but he was also Alrick's twin brother. "And I see your friend is no longer a whimpering mess on the floor. Good I thought I would have to end her useless life" I heard Kelly take a deep breath and I moved to stand in front of her, determined not to let anything happen to her "no need for that Ember I won't hurt her now, perhaps she will come into use later, my brother could use a good fuck" he turned to look at his brother who just started at him like he was the craziest person alive.

"What do you want with me Alrick" I put us back on course and he laughed again which sent chills down my back. He somehow got creepier when he laughed.

"All in due time my dear but now you must get ready for the party" he turned and nodded at his brother and then disappeared out the door with the guard following close behind, leaving only Thomas in the room with us. He waited a few minutes before he looked out the door closed it and proceeded to offer me a kind smile.

"My my tommy look how you've grown" Luka said from his cell and I turned to see he was standing by the bars again. He had a playful smile on his face and I remembered that they were childhood friend's "its funny I've been here what twenty one odd years and all this time I have never seen you not even once" he said in a hurt voice but I knew he was trying to mess around and lighten the mood in the room. Not that I think that could ever happen in this room.

"I have taken care of your wellbeing Luka" Thomas said in a clear voice.

"Ah yes the letters and packages of small amounts of water and food very smart of you" Luka said sarcastically and I wondered if it was always like this before any of this happened, I also wondered if I would even be here.

"You were always the complainer of the group" Thomas smiled playfully making him look like the teenager he was supposed to look like.

"And you always the mature one" he laughed at that little comment and placed his hands behind his back in a formal manner " I am sorry about Ella" Luka said softly but still loud enough for Thomas to hear and his face dropped like a ton of bricks.

"Yes so am I" he sound angry sad and loving all at the same time but he dropped the subject in favour of looking at me and Kelly; who was still hiding behind me. "I am sorry about this Ember if there was time I would have found a way to stop him" he smiled at me and I narrowed my eyes at him not understanding.

"Why would you want to help if you work with you brother" his eyes darkened and Luka laughed sarcastically.

"Oh dear Thomas here cannot stand his brother even as children, in fact he is the leader of the resistance" Luka said with a hint of pride in his voice and Thomas looked a little panicked. I'm sure that was not something he liked to advertise to people especially in this place.

"He is right I stay with my brother only because I have to" he said and I nodded my head and he looked at Kelly "and I will not lay a hand on you. I am not my brother" he smiled at her and she smiled back and came out from behind my back. "Do you have any questions for me" I looked at him and rolled my eyes. If he was prepared to answer about one hundred of them but Kelly beat me to it.

"Just one" Kelly asked "what fucking party was he talking about".

I don't know why but I think the blind guy Caleb is going to play a huge part in my story. Yay or nay to that idea let me know. You'll be finding out more about Ella in coming chapters and Emma's dad and brother are coming back into the picture with a bit of a surprise for the gang cant wait to write about it.

On another random note I almost got an A+ on my art prac exam if only I had finished. Couldn't be happier and on my theory I got 72%- not sure what letter that applies to- which is like a miracle for me. These good marks also mean I'm probably going to be allowed more computer time now to work on my chapters.

Has anyone read the fault in our stars? I cried like a baby and I can't wait to see the movie
