Now, before I start this chapter, I just want to point out something that a reviewer said at the end of the previous one, and in this particular review the person makes out that Eric is not Sookie's first choice in the books and that I was making out that he isn't her first choice here either. Well, my response to that is that now Sookie has four kids of her own and no matter what happens Eric won't be first – no man will ever become more important to her than her kids. NOT EVEN ERIC!
Okay?
Now … on with the story!
Enjoy!
SPOV
"Enough nonsense, Eric. It's time someone took charge and looked after you. You are staying here with me, Sam and the kids and that is final" I said, folding my arms across my chest.
"Lo… Sookie, I don't want to cause any trouble between your family. They are what should be most important to you right now and not some random vampire" Eric replied, as he started to get up out of the sofa.
"Eric Northman, you sit your arse right back down there right now and you listen to me. You know that you haven't ever been a stray vampire to me" I said, my voice becoming softer towards the end of my sentence.
"I wish I was still yours. Everything was so much simpler then" Eric said, with that little puppy dog expression firmly on his face.
"I wish so too, Eric. It really was easier then" I answered, and just as I said it, I realised that it was true – even though back then I had complained and bitched and moaned about how busy it was.
"I would give anything to be yours again, Sookie. You know that. I never really stopped loving you. I buried it deep inside me – with Freyda's help, of course" Eric said, and before I knew what was happening, his lips were on mine, kissing me for all that I was worth.
And just for a second, I couldn't help but kiss him back. Soon, his hands were making their way around my ass, pulling me even tighter to his gorgeous body, forcing my soaking wet cunt to feel his growing erection causing me to moan loudly.
However, soon my brain realised that I was married and that I wasn't Eric's any more.
Instead I was married. To Sam.
"Eric …. Stop" I said, pushing on his gorgeous pecs – which were still regretfully fully clothed, in order to get him to pull away from me, and he eventually did with the same familiar heat in his eyes – and I also knew that if I hadn't have stopped him in that very moment he wouldn't have been able to stop.
And then the guilt would have felt one thousand times worse than what it did right now.
"No … no … no. I'm married. Eric we can't do this …" I said.
"And if you weren't married?" he asked, with such a hopeful look on his face.
"Eric, don't do this …" I begged him. If I wasn't still married to Sam, there wouldn't be no way in hell that I would ever turn him down.
"Baby, you know I am still in love with you – I most likely always will, but things are different now. I won't cheat on Sam. And Freyda? What do you think that she will do to you if she finds out?" I said, as gently as I possibly could, taking a seat next to him on the sofa and putting my hand on his.
He really was breaking my heart right now.
"Come on, let me show you where you will be sleeping while you stay here – and remember, no matter what happens, you will always have a place here to stay. Okay?" I said, gently and then led him upstairs quietly – so as not to wake the kids of course.
We walked right down to the end of the landing and turned right. I opened the door into the spare bedroom and then flicked on the light.
"This here's for you. The sheets were just changed yesterday and luckily there are black out curtains on the window. You can also lock the door from the inside if you need to – or if you just want to feel safer. Bathroom is the next door on the left and towels are in the cupboard in there. Also, there's a shower just off of my room if one of the kids has occupied the bathroom that you can use if you want" I explained to him, and he just nodded carefully.
"Oh, and I will leave you out some of Sam's clothes that you can wear" I said, trying to be practical. Eric couldn't live in those clothes forever.
"It's okay – I can go shopping tomorrow" he said, and now it was my turn to nod.
"Now, I think that is everything" I said, now feeling awkward. God.
"Okay" he said.
"This is awkward" I said, with a little bit of a laugh.
"Yeah" he replied, also laughing.
"Well, the sun is about to rise soon so I will leave you alone then" I said and then started to make my way out of the room, only stopping to give him a hug on the way out – something which he eagerly returned.
"Thank you Sookie – I don't know what I would ever do without you" he said, softly.
"Hey – I haven't gotten you away from that bitch yet" I answered, and then went downstairs to shoot Pam a text to let her know that her Maker would be staying with me and the kids for the foreseeable future.
And then as an afterthought, I realised that I had better text Sam to let him know that Eric was back in town and that my said ex-boyfriend was staying in the same house as me for the next while.
So … what do we think? Review to send me your thoughts …..
