Hey guys, I no I promised to make this chapter longer and with more action scenes but I felt that Alex and Eve's relationship needed a litle more attention and some more explaining that's why I made it so short, the next chapter might be a little short as well but I promise the one after that will be longer, also a few of you have been asking what is happening with Leah's imprint so he might be making a reappearance soon. Sorry its taken so long!

We decided to walk back to her house seeing as she only lived down the road and it gave me more time to explain to her about the packs.

"So when Jacob joined the first pack he was supposed to become Alpha but he didn't want to so he stayed as second command, then when Bella became pregnant the pack wanted to kill her?" Alex asked trying to wrap her head around the situation.

"Correct." I nodded.

"But Jacob didn't and ran to the Cullens breaking his connection to the pack then Seth followed Jacob, Leah then followed Seth and they became a pack with Jacob as Alpha? And then when the child was still born Embery and Quil joined?"

"Yep, that's how we ended up with two wold packs, we're still figuring out a few of the kinks as both packs have different views. The packs have to stay hidden from the humans, my friends unfortunately don't understand the meaning of secrets or privacy so they spent months trying to figure who how many wolves there are here in forks after Sam had an accident."

"Did they find out?"

"About us shape-shifters? Yeah eventually it was getting to hard to hide for them what will Paul trying to kill them every chance he got, but they don't know about vampires."

"Clearly, so what's with shape-shifters and trying to kill people?"

"Pack issues, he was trying to protect his pack."

"Weirdo's." She nudged me.

"Says the hybrid." I laughed nudging her back.

"That bond thing you were talking about, the one that sent your friend Jacob insane, how did it do that?"

"The bond is called imprinting, when a shape-shifter find's he soulmate he imprints on her, he would do anything for his mate, be anything. He can't stay away from her for long periods of time with it physically hurting and he will always be drawn to her."

"He?"

"Leah and I are the only known female shape-shifters, no one really knows why. That's why it was such a surprise when I imprinted because I was already Jacobs imprint. That what broke his imprint on me and drove him insane, he wolf in him wanted to challenge the person who stole his mate."

"Then why did he attack me?"

I stopped walking and started blushing.

"What? Why did you stop walking?"

"Because I imprinted on you." I whispered.

"But you said that only males could imprint."

"Im the second female to imprint but the first shifter to imprint on someone of the same sex."

"How is that a bad thing?"

"Well some people in the tribe believe the imprinting is a shifter finding someone who is the strongest in child birth and then others believe that a shifter imprints to make them stronger."

"Which one do you believe?"

"Well considering that I can't get you pregnant I believe the second one."

"Right."

"Your taking this whole thing rather well, I just told you that because of my wolf gene's I'm permanently bonded to you and i can live forever granted I don't stop shifting."

"Shifters can live forever?"

"Actually we're supposed to stop shifting once when our imprint starts to get older so that we can die with them but since you live forever so will I. Jacob has it lucky that his imprint might become a vampire somewhere in the future."

"Well then I guess I'm stuck with you them." Those words hit like a bag of bricks, I figured show wouldn't like this.

"Will you can order me to go away, I am whatever you want me to be, there for if you want me to be a stranger then that's what I'll be. Granted I might stay close to you, to protect you but I won't bother you." By now we were standing outside her house and I could see out of the corner of my eye that someone was watching us in the window. I breathed in slowly through my nose checking our surroundings.

"I was joking, I enjoy your company so for now let's just be friends." She went onto her tippy-toes and kisses my cheek.

"I have to go, my grandfather is watching us."

"Alright, hey if you want you should come down to the Res tomorrow and I can show you around."

"Sound greats, meet me here at say 10?"

"Deal." I pulled her into a short hug before jogging back towards the Cullens house.
