Early morning sunlight streamed through the open curtains, flooding the room in golden light. It landed on Enjolras' sleeping face and he saw red behind his eyelids instead of the usual black. He awoke with a smirk on his face. Even now, months after the barricade the red of a new dawn replaced the black of a night about to end. He experienced it everyday, only this time his new day began with a sleeping Eponine in his bed, in his arms. One of his arms was draped around her waist, feeling the skin that had been exposed the night previous. The other arm had lost feeling during the night due to the fact that Eponine chose to use it as a pillow of sorts. His nose was buried in her dark hair which smelt of lavender and well, Eponine. His grin widened when he felt her snuggle closer to him. It was yet another thing he welcomed into his life due to the extraordinary girl in his arms and he found himself thinking "would they ever end"? He again smiled when the word "No" made an appearance. They wouldn't end and he certainly didn't want to stop discovering new things about himself as far as Eponine was concerned.

Eponine. The girl who shared his bed with him. "The girl who saved me." As those thoughts sunk in he thought back to the night before, the things they had done. As he said they hadn't gone all the way but it was enough. In his life he had read plenty of books and seen plenty of shows on the stage where scenes similar to their activities had occurred, but he never understood the reasoning behind such actions until they were being carried out. Thinking about them, the way Eponine had reacted and the way he had felt made him react. They also made him super-aware of the girl in his arms. He felt warm and the feeling of his Eponine pressed against him didn't help, well it did help, but he didn't want to startle her. He could feel her bare legs; the skirt of her dress had ridden up during the night. He could feel the exposed skin of her torso from where he had undone the binding to pleasure her. He knew he had to relax so he began thinking of anything, from The Republic, one of his favorite books, to the feel of cool night air. "Well that sure is helping" he thought sarcastically.

He assumed that since the sunlight woke him up it would wake her as well. They were both facing the same way after all. But he was content to simply admire her sleeping form until then. He slowly lifted his arm so he could rest on his elbow and gently so he wouldn't wake her. He looked down at her, trying to get a glimpse of her face through the dark hair curtaining around it. When he did he noted how relaxed she looked. It was new for her. Whenever she was awake she was always keeping herself busy whether it had been before, during or after the barricade. And due to their friendship before the barricade, most of her recent actions had been for him. To help him. His chest swelled with love for her once again as he knew he would never be the same, a thought that no longer had the chance of bothering him. All he had to plan for was a future. A life with her was worth more than his ideals on the barricade. And maybe she was his second chance, she saved him in every sense of the word and made him realize there were things in life one had to be selfish about. Love was exactly that. It was selfish of him to let go of the barricades so fast, but that had happened with the help of his surviving friends as well as his heart's desire. Maybe they still had a chance, just not in the form he had once believed it would be.

He hadn't realized how deep in thought he was until he felt her small hand caress his stubbly cheek. He looked down to see her sparkling eyes. When their eyes connected her eyes crinkled and her dimples appeared in her breathtaking smile. He drew in an unsteady breath, one Eponine had heard. She knew why, she had been thinking about it too. She had also been awake for quite sometime, but didn't want to move. She was too comfortable in his arms so she kept her eyes closed and took in the feeling of Enjolras bent around her. She could feel his legs pressed against hers; her dress had ridden up during the night. She could also feel his strong arms around her. They were warm and made her feel loved and safe. When he leant upon his elbow she knew she wouldn't be able to pretend to sleep for too much longer. So when she opened her eyes she was pleasantly surprised to find that he was admiring her.

"Good morning" she said with a smile. He grinned back at her and lowered his head to capture her lips in a gentle kiss. His fingers trailed to her bare shoulder and drew patterns on her burning skin. They both had to draw unsteady breaths at the feeling.

"Good morning" he repeated with another kiss. "Did you sleep well" he asked with a grin. Eponine, matching his grin, rose up to press her lips more firmly to kiss deepened and she placed her hand on his warm chest. His arms slipped around her as she turned into his arms, bringing both of their bare chests into contact. They both moaned at the feeling as their hands trailed to find more bare skin to explore. Eponine pulled away with a grin.

"I'll take that as a yes" Enjolras smirked. Eponine rolled even further into his arms until she was situated atop him. She bit her lip when she felt him ready beneath her.

"Well someone's eager" she teased as she kissed his neck. Enjolras let his hands travel into her hair to pull her lips back to his.

"And someone enjoys being a little tease"

"After the life I've lived that comment can no longer bother me."

"Who said I was trying to bother you?"

" So instead you choose to willingly admit that you want me?"

"We're engaged after all and I do believe you have already felt my wanting" he pointed out and Eponine's cheeks grew red.

"Well then I do believe it's time for me to return to my room so you aren't pushed too far" she said as she rolled off of him. "Or me for that matter" Enjolras pulled her back onto his lap for a searing kiss.

"Must you go?" He groaned once she had pulled back and just as he asked the sound of a carriage returning to the house floated up to them.

"I'm sorry my love but I really should." She said with a sympathetic smileys she removed herself from his lap. She quickly laced up the front of her dress, leaned in to give him a parting kiss then made her way to the door and down the hall to her room. She grinned and blushed the whole way there thinking back on the night before and the joy of waking up in Enjolras' arms. She knew she would never get enough of him.

Enjolras remained siting up in his bed, covered by his sheets. A grin was plastered on his reddening face. He leaned back and collapsed into his pillows in sheet bliss with his arms behind his head. He would never be able to get enough of his beloved Eponine. She was everything to him. She captured the entire essence of his ideals. She was his Patria, his all. She was who he fought for and would continue to fight for in a less violent approach. He would never risk anyone's life again, especially not when they had all been given a second chance.

Sorry it was short. It was just a scene I had in my head and really wanted to write. There is more I promise, but school is about to end and I have a portfolio I've been working on so I've been busy. As always I love the support and I know it's not a big number but there have been over 4000 views which is just astounding. I didn't think that many people would care so thank you thank you thank thank you! I love you all!
