Chapter 11
He looked at the girl to see that she was still playing with the animal and he then looked back at the cat in his arms "Well, I'm depending on you buddy, you're cute and deadly, you are my secret weapon so don't fail me. Readers, do not attempt to copy what I am going to do in this chapter for it is dangerous and if you do find yourself in a position where you may be killed or seriously injured, call the authorities, hide or do something sensible, wish me luck" He held the cat behind his back and moved out of his hiding position and stayed a few metres away from her.
He was nervous to approach the girl and spoke out loud "Crap, I feel really nervous"
She obviously noticed and quickly turned around "That voice, it couldn't be"
He had an awkward smile on his face as he waved with one hand "Uh, hi there"
Her face turned slightly red as she asked "How long?"
"How long what?"
"How long have you been here?" A shadow covered her eyes, not revealing her true intentions.
He rubbed the back of his head "Um, well, I heard, everything from 'should I follow her' so I generally heard you talking to yourself" He then felt a murderous and bloodthirsty intent from the girl.
"Then I suppose there's no choice but to kill you" A psychotic smile appeared on her face as her eyes were empty "Nobody is going to miss a criminal are they?"
"Whoa, wait, what do you mean by those? Hey, wait, why're you drawing your huge sword, listen to me! HEY!" He yelled trying to stop her.
"Hahaha, if I kill you, nobody will ever know of what I said" She muttered with a scary smile.
"Hey, you're starting to sound psychotic here, I'm serious, not kidding! FUCK!" He saw her twitch and instantly moved as she moved quickly, to a normal person she was just a blur or a mirage, but he could clearly see her movements as he felt a sensation all too familiar to him, the feeling that one small mistake will lead to death or worse as time slowed down for him once more.
A smile appeared as his mind worked overtime "It's been a while since I've been forced into this state of mind instead of me having to use it at will. Didn't expect her to have this kind of bloodlust, bit surprising, better be prepared for future goddesses. Better hurry up and dodge or else I'm dead" He quickly ducked down to his left, making the downward diagonal swing miss.
He already knew what was going to happen next as his thoughts didn't slow down "Next she'll aim for where I dodged, this is where you come in, sorry about using you, but even if this fails, as long as I can get you above my head, you'll live" He decided on his move.
He pulled out the small feline he was hiding behind his back and yelled "ULTIMATE DEFENCE! KITTY SHIELD!" This move had wasted his turn as the next swing had already begun and he had used up his time, moving his slow and sluggish body, but was now holding up the small animal.
The swing stopped at his neck as he thought "Readers, again do not copy, do not use animals as a shield as no animals were harmed in the making of this chapter"
He had exited that strange state and returned to normal time as birds were seen to move at normal speed as the girl yelled "Y-You… How dare you use that defenceless animal as a shield!"
"Thankfully that worked, if I didn't I would be dead in the next two seconds anyway, so uh, could you point that thing elsewhere or something, I'll slowly put the cat down if you slowly point that elsewhere"
She moved slowly as he placed the feline down at the same time, stood up slowly, took off his inventory and gun, and placed them on the ground and took a few steps back with his hands in the air "Chill, I just wanna talk, not get cut down to size okay, so stop being on edge"
She looked at his disk, raised her foot and stomped it, smashing it into many pieces "There, now I can relax"
"Hey, I've got a small question, if there were things in there, do they re-appear or are they destroyed?"
"They re-appear, they were made for easy storage" Three blades in sheathes appeared like data with a bracelet.
"Oh thank god" She was about to pick up the gun until he said "Computer, de-activate intruder protocols"
"Understood, de-activating intruder protocols" A computerised voice replied.
She took a step back "Is that going to explode?"
"No, if you picked it up, you would've been shocked and knocked out, but you know, if you wanted to I can turn it back on, but you know, being part of an electrical current hurts, oh, by the way, Computer, I was just engaged in battle, what's the thing Chian put in?" He asked.
"Unfortunately sir, that cannot be revealed currently as you must be using Burning Magnum in order to activate equipment"
"Wonder what kind, oh well, thanks Computer, but um, can I put my arms down? I'm sort of tired from dodging your lethal attacks"
She ignored him and poked the gun with her sword a few times before confirming whether it was safe or not.
"I'll take that as a yes then" He relaxed his arms and sat down "By the way, I'm sorry about kicking you in the gut that other time, sorry" He bowed down as an added bonus.
The girl found his actions strange and slightly weird, she sighed as a light enveloped her, showing a different girl who had pale and fair skin with very long black hair about waste length worn up in long pigtails with two piece black and blue ribbons. She had neat bangs as they were seen to be neatly combed which framed her face as she had red eyes. A fancy dress she wore which consisted of dark blue, white, red and small amounts of gold lining and buttons. The dress part covered a red with black spiked lining cloth while the breast part is white, along with her skirt which has black lining on both layers. Behind this is a blue bow, matching a smaller one worn around her neck attached to a black and white collar. In the centre of it was a gold piece and showed that it could be unbuttoned.
"No, I'm… I'm sorry for… sorry for attacking you" She apologised awkwardly.
"You don't have to apologise, people try to kill me all the time, so uh, can I get my stuff?"
She drew a rapier and pointed it at him with a cold stare "No, you can't, don't move" She ordered.
"Um, okay" He looked down to see the two kittens gather around him "No, go over there, go to the girl, wait, stop trying to climb me, you'll fall" He picked up the both of them "What are you trying to do? Where's your mother?" He asked the two.
They both obviously replied with a cute "Meow"
"Ah, I see, no mother huh, but how did you get up here is the question" He then plopped them onto his shoulders.
She looked slightly jealous as the one she was playing with not too long ago had taken a liking to the one she had almost killed.
"Um, are you jealous? If you want I can tell one to go over to you"
"N-No, It's not like I'm jealous or anything over those cats liking you" She denied as she still glared at them.
"Uh-huh, sure, but do I just stand here until you're satisfied or what?"
She slowly moved towards him, still maintaining a firm grip on her blade, making sure that he wasn't doing anything shifty. She examined him and asked "What's with those fake ears and tail?" She then began to examine his head and pull on his ears.
"OW! Please don't pull on them, it hurts"
She stopped "Those are real?!"
"Uh, yeah, my ears and tail are real, so please don't"
"How lucky" She muttered on her breath as she then examined his body, she began to pat him down.
"Um, is it okay for a girl to be touching a guy like this?"
She stopped to think for a moment and saw that she was firmly touching him, her face turned red as she quickly backed away "D-Don't get the wrong idea okay, a-all I'm doing is checking for hidden weapons!"
"Yeah, but if I wanted to attack you, wouldn't I have just shot you or something?" He asked, making a valid point.
She stood there for a moment and thought hard about that point "…Fine, what do you want?"
He breathed a sigh of relief "I wanted to talk, but first I'm Sky, what's your name?"
"…" She remained silent.
"Fine, stay quiet, but it involves Neptune"
"H-How much did you hear?" The embarrassed girl asked.
"Yeah, uh, pretty much everything, sorry"
"Then I'll have to eliminate you and erase your existence from this world" She added with that psychotic look.
"Whoa, chill, alright, I don't really feel like dying so stop"
"Then stay away from Neptune"
"No, like hell I will"
"Then what do you want?"
"Just a talk, but if that's not specific enough, just answer some of my questions and do one thing and everything that happened or will happen on this rooftop stays on this rooftop, alright?"
"F-Fine, t-then what do you want me to do? Guys are into… that… right?" She asked as she covered her chest, her face red with embarrassment.
"Whoa, just a sec there, what are you implying?"
"T-Turn around, it's embarrassing" her hands were slowly moving to take off her clothes.
He ran up to her and grabbed her hands "Holy mother of, no, okay, I'm not even old enough to do that yet, stop, okay, I was gonna ask you to do something else"
She struggled "Liar, you w-wanted to do this all along, a-as long as Neptune doesn't find out I… I'm willing to give up my body!" She yelled.
"No, wait, stop struggling or we're gonna trip!" The two fell over as the small felines jumped off.
He was now on top of her as he had a hold of her hands, she was blushing madly as her eyes closed and muttered "J-Just make it quick"
A look of pain took over his face as he cried on the inside "Do I really look like the type of person to do this? Do I actually look like a criminal naturally? Is that how I appear to other people?"
"H-Hurry up" The girl urged
"Just a sec, okay, I wasn't going to blackmail you" He stood up and offered her a hand "I just wanted to know your name since you refuse to tell me"
She swiped his hand away and stood up by herself "T-That's it?"
"Yeah, but if you still don't want to tell me, then that's fine, you already know my name anyways, but I've got a question, since you're stalking Neptune, do you have any friends?"
F-Friends, o-of course I have friends!" She replied.
A sceptical look appeared on him "Do you really have friends?"
"Y-Yes! It's none of your business!" She yelled.
"All right then, but what abou-"He looked elsewhere "Monsters. Someone's fighting them, they seem to be pretty strong so I shouldn't have to go over there, but where are these monsters coming from?" he asked himself.
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh, sorry, monsters keep appearing here and there and thankfully someone else is fighting them instead of me, but that's a topic for another time. I have more questions, but would you be willing to ans-" He stopped talking as a scream was heard, ran to where his items where, swiped the bracelet and put it on, before running back to the apposed ledge and threw a few flaming kunai below.
"You, did you just kill them?" She asked as she ran to the ledge to see some monsters with kunai in their heads before shattering into small bits of data "Wait, you saved the-"She said before being pulled back.
"Close one, almost got seen, anyway, I'm gonna head off to where the others are, wanna come with?"
"Huh? Meet with Neptune?" She asked, not believing it to be that easy.
"Yep, we can fight and have fun, but if not, I'll leave" He got up and walked to pick up and equip all his stuff "So, bye" he waved.
She was about to let him leave until she realised she had lost sight of Neptune, she ran up and grabbed his hand "W-Wait, I-I'll come with you, only to meet with Neptune okay"
"Alright, let's go, but first, since you live in a Basilicom" He picked up the two kittens "Do you think you could take care of these two?"
She took one of his hands "I will, I'll give you a home, just you wait little guy"
"That's a girl, the one I'm holding is the boy and they're brother and sister"
She glared at him for disturbing her "I-I knew that"
"Sure you did, but since you're a goddess you can jump off this building and survive right?"
"G-Goddess, y-you must have the wrong person?" She asked nervously.
"There's no point trying to hide it when you have a transformation similar to Purple Heart's, so can you jump and survive?"
She sighed "Of course I can, who do you think I am?" She asked with pride
"Good, see you at the bottom" he did a light jump over the ledge.
She reached out "Hey, wait for me!" She yelled as she joined him by jumping off the building into an alleyway.
"Don't worry, I won't ditch you unless I want to, now, let's go have some fun"
"Fun, we're not going straight to Neptune?"
"Neptune this, Neptune that. Are you really that obsessed with Neptune?"
"O-Obsessed, n-no, it's not like I like her or anything!" She denied.
"Ah, you're friends with Neptune, I see, it makes more sense now. But I wonder, have you eaten, you look a bit pale"
"I'm fine, I don't need to eat" She denied with pride.
*GROWL*
"You sure?" He asked.
She looked embarrassed as she grabbed her stomach "T-Then you're buying"
"I will, but after we do a little work and drop these two off at the Basilicom, which way to the Basilicom and where do we get quests?"
She groaned "Aren't you a mercenary?"
"Technically yeah, but there have been some… problems, I'm not exactly from around here" He said with a childish smile.
"I see, you're from Planeptune, no wonder. I suppose I don't have a choice, I'll lead you to the Basilicom so you better remember the way there!"
He saluted jokingly and yelled "YES MAM!"
Elsewhere in some generic cave of some sort, four girls travelled together, each one different from the next.
"Hey Iffy, you ever think that these caves all look the same?" A purple haired teen asked.
"Well they are made out of rock" She pointed out.
"No, Neptune's point is that they really do look the same" The spirit argued.
"Are you sure?" The nurse asked.
"Yeah, it totally looks the same as that other one we went in, haven't you ever thought about it Iffy?" Neptune asked.
She sighed and muttered "No wonder I go solo, it's so I don't have to listen to idiots like Nep"
"Ooh, lookie what I found" A curious Neptune blurted out as she reached into a chest ignoring the insult.
"Nep-Nep, what is it?"
She pulled out a… bangle of some sort "Aww, it's nothing good, I wanted some cool legendary sword" She complained as she threw it away.
"Wait! Couldn't we have sold that?" The spirit asked.
"We can't, unfortunately we are not able to sell items" Compa explained.
"So why can't we sell items? I mean I get we have to sorta follow the game and all, but can't we break a few rules, you know just like how we're not using the battle system of the game"
"No we can't Nep, it's one of the things we can't change"
"But Iffy, I heard that if you break these rules, don't you get punished?" Compa asked.
"Punished by who?" Layla asked.
"The Goddess of course" Compa answered.
"But what if you don't believe in a goddess?" She asked once more.
"Then that would make you a heretic" Compa answered.
"If you want the definition just scroll up to that thing that lets you pick the chapter and go to Chapter 8 and then press control f to search it!" Neptune yelled.
"Nep-Nep, who are you talking to?"
"The readers of course, hello there, how you been? But you know, you could just open a new tab and Google it or you know go to the top of the page and change the web address to Google if ya want, but that would mean you wouldn't know what happens next"
"Back to the topic at hand, if you're a heretic, break all the rules you want, why, you know a heretic?" IF asked.
"Well, I think I count as a heretic, but I think I'm an exception to that rule"
"Y-You're a heretic? Are you going to be rude and a meanie like Mr Heretic?" Compa asked.
"I'm not, but I'm an exception because I'm a spirit and spirits are technically deities"
"What do spirits even do?" IF asked.
"We influence nature"
"How?" A curious Neptune asked.
"Um, how you ask, there's no method really and that's on a need to know basis, honestly though, in a place such as Lastation, I feel a bit sick"
"Really, I think Lastation is pretty cool" IF added
"Yes, but it's the pollution I mind, not the machinery, it makes Lastation not as… appealing to spirits"
"But you're saying that you don't believe in a goddess? Layla, are you sure you should be saying those kind of things?" Compa asked.
"Oh, is it really that bad? I'm sorry, but in our dimension its common knowledge for spirits to not believe in a goddess, we're deities in a sense, I mean people have even worshiped me for no reason at all, it was probably the other Great Spirits of Light"
"Other?" They all asked.
"Yes, when a Great Spirit such as myself dies, a new one is born in my place, but that's not going to happen anytime soon"
"So are you an old lady or what?" Neptune asked.
"How rude, I'm only 16, just slightly older than Sky, but I think Undine is already 300 years old, I'm the youngest out of the six Great Elemental Spirits"
"T-Three hundred years?! Just how long are spirits able to live?" A shocked Compa asked.
"I don't really know, there isn't really a set lifespan for spirits, we're not like you humans"
"Yes, that may be true, but you look human" Compa said.
"All of you humans say that, but to me you look like weak and boring spirits"
"But who is Undine?" Compa asked
"Is Undine a water spirit?" IF asked.
"Yes, my older sister is the Great Spirit of Water"
"So she must be wrinkly and old by now huh?" Neptune asked.
"Wrinkly? What does that mean?" A confused spirit asked.
"You know, wrinkles, it's a common image when you think about old people" IF explained.
"Haven't you ever seen wrinkles before?" Compa asked.
"Um, only on you humans, how would Undine have wrinkles?" She asked herself.
"Wait, what do you mean? Put it in human terms" IF ordered.
"Oh, well according to other people, Undine looks around twenty or something, yeah… Somewhere close to that"
"Cool, so spirits are immortal?" Neptune asked.
"Hmm, slightly, after all, it is very hard to kill a matured spirit like Undine, it is said that mature Great Spirits are able to defeat the goddesses, but no one actually knows if that's true… I wonder if he is going to give Chian the plans for his artificial limbs? Wouldn't that mean he has summoned his ship already?" She wondered randomly.
"Oh, also does he have any weaknesses?" Neptune asked.
"Nep-Nep, why do you want to know?"
"Cause you know, everyone has to have one, it's a must"
"Wait Nep, I have a more important question to ask"
"Really, like what kinda pudding we're buying later?"
"Nep-Nep, I don't think it has anything to do with pudding"
"It doesn't?" A disappointed Neptune asked.
"Yes Nep it doesn't" IF replied, shutting her down "The question is, he said he wasn't very sane in Chapter 9, does he still have his sanity or is he psychotic?"
"I um… I don't actually know"
"What do you mean you don't know?" A scared IF asked.
"Exactly what it sounds like"
IF glanced towards Neptune "So… he wasn't kidding when he told me he was losing his sanity. Is that why he left?"
"Of course not Iffy, he's surrounded by cute girls, why would he want to leave?" Neptune asked.
"Maybe I should join him?" IF asked herself as she thought about her future, ignoring Neptune.
"Is there a reason why he could be insane?" Compa asked.
"Yes actually, but if you knew about what he's had to go through then you would understand why"
"Like what?" Compa asked.
"Let's not go there, I find that it is somewhat of a delicate topic for him and I, especially him, it's surprising that he isn't an evil psychopath yet"
"Yet?" IF asked.
"Yes, let's hope he never becomes an evil psychopath, if that ever happens, we're all dead" She proclaimed.
"And why's that?" Neptune asked.
"Because, he's strong enough to take on an entire army of monsters and live, so if that ever does happen, we are dead"
"No questions asked, it's just presumed that when he turns evil we're dead?" IF asked.
"Yes it is, so let's just hope and pray that he only becomes psychotic or insane, not evil" Layla said.
"Wait, wait, wait just a sec here, so he could already be insane?" IF asked
"Well yes, I have seen him throw away his sanity and become insane, he got it back afterwards, but it was still fairly frightening"
"Does he need to go to a mental hospital?" Compa asked.
"He probably does Compa, hey Iffy, you know any mental hospitals for the stupid and insane around here?" Neptune asked bluntly.
"Probably"
"Oh, by the way, you said you quit the academy, what was it for? Did you do it cause you got dumped?" Neptune asked.
"Dumped, by who?" The calm spirit asked
"Well you know, Sky, who else? Or could it be you got rejected?" Neptune asked.
"N-N-No, i-it's not like he rejected me exactly" She was playing with her fingers.
Compa then asked "Could it be… you rejected him?"
She looked away and began to whistle.
"Don't avoid the question, answer it" IF ordered.
"I-Iffy, you're getting involved too?!" Layla asked.
"Seems interesting"
"A-Anyway, shouldn't we quickly find that person, they must be waiting, we shouldn't waste too much time!" She then flew off further into the dungeon.
"Hey, wait, we still don't know if you got rejected or not!" Neptune yelled.
"NO! I'M NOT TELLING!" She yelled back.
Later, after refusing to tell the group, they dropped the discussion and had found the missing person
"Good, you're safe. You're the Avenir employee, I presume?" A mature Neptune asked.
"I'm honoured to be rescued by such as beautiful lady, but… who are you?" The NPC male figure asked, somewhat skinny and young.
Compa then added "Are you the employee we were asked to save? Your company requested we come here and get you."
"oh, Ms. Compa and IF. Where's Ms. Neptune? I'd expect her to be running around in here causing havoc before you. But who might this be hiding behind you Miss IF?" The NPC asked. Neptune was seen to be in deep thought.
Layla was seen to be hiding behind IF or mostly just standing behind her on her side "Hey, what're you doing?" IF asked.
"I don't trust him" She whispered.
"What about him don't you trust?" IF asked.
"I'm sorry, but I just don't"
"That's rude, we've come here to save him" Compa said.
"This girl is Layla, sorry about this, she's a bit shy around strangers" IF said.
Neptune finally snapped out of her deep thought "…Have we met before? I apologize, but I don't recall your face. How… could I forget someone I've met?" Neptune asked herself.
The tone of the male's voice changed to a surprised one "Oh… Oh? A-Are you Ms. Neptune? My, my. You've gone through… quite the transformation." He said as if examining her.
"You were a spunky little girl when I saw you at the… well, nevermind. Please ignore my ramblings. Sorry for all the trouble. I was running around, prepping for the Tech Expo, but I was attacked by monsters on the way." He added.
"Tech Expo? I thought it was cancelled!" Compa blurted out. Layla was seen to be whispering in IF's ear.
"Well, no. It'll go on as it usually does. Perhaps the new hasn't made it to the public yet. Please, forget what I said!" He answered.
"How could we? Chian was so disappointed… If you're telling the truth, this'll be great news for her. Would it be better to tell her in person?" She asked herself as she took out her phone.
"…That's true. You said you're preparing for the Expo. What does Avenir plan to showcase there?" Neptune asked.
"Oh, come now. Do I look like I've got loose lips? A big mouth? Do I seem like a stool pidgeon? I can't just tell you!" He teased the group.
Layla was staring at him intently as if observing his every move.
"…But between you and me, we've been preparing for this Expo since the company started. Which means this is something that has been in the preparation stages for three years. I'm sure you'll eventually learn more about the Expo if you tune into the radio" He added on.
The group remained quiet as those observant eyes remained fixed on the employee.
Onwards, after escorting the employee they found themselves yet at another godforsaken generic cave.
"What was all that about?" Neptune asked, still transformed.
"Are you actually shy? Do you have a hard time making friends?" Compa asked.
"I do have a bit of trou-that's not the point here! I just didn't trust him"
"What about him don't you trust? An employee is not the same as the company at which they work at" Neptune told her.
"Yes, but he seemed suspicious, Iffy, did you take a picture or a recording?"
"I did, but this seems like a waste of space, this is going to be great news for Chian. Are you going to watch this over and over again till you find something that's not there?" IF asked.
"No, I'm not, Sky is"
"He is? What can he do?" Compa asked.
"You forget, he's a Rune Knight, he doesn't just fight, he also solves cases with the police or independently, saves lives, does investigations on strange occurrences and phenomenon's and more. He isn't just a fighter." She explained.
"Is all of that true?" Neptune asked.
"Yes, but we don't know where he is right now"
"Iffy gave him a phone, let's use that to communicate with him" Compa offered.
"Not gave, lent" IF corrected as she took out her phone. Her fingers rapidly traversed the buttons as she said "Done, sent it, now all has to do is send a message back"
"Yes, but Neptune, what do you make of this?" Layla asked.
Neptune pointed to herself "Me, what could I possibly do? My thoughts on this may not be correct"
"Maybe, but according to Sky, you're much more intelligent than you give off, in battle you subconsciously make yourself weaker to match Compa and Iffy, your decision making is superb in different situations and your reflexes and speed are that of a superhuman as he added that you are probably fast enough to dodge bullets if fired upon. You're a bit too strong"
"How did he figure all that out?" Compa asked.
"It's understandable that you haven't noticed since you've only been together for a few days, but within the last few days in combat, he has placed each of you in different situations to observe, analyse and understand your abilities. By now he has probably already come up with one or two ways of immobilising, stopping or killing each of you as well as how to improve"
"That sounds amazing and yet so unbelievable, what clues may have possibly given this away?" Neptune asked.
"A clue you ask? Well there have been a few, but if you're wondering how I know, it's mostly because he told me, other than that I would be in the same boat as all of you. The clues would be his use of magic"
"Use of magic?" Compa asked.
"Yes, anyone who is able to use magic freely like him or I are much more dangerous and powerful than normal people, it gives us an edge against enemies who don't know how to use it. During your battle with the sandworm he could've ended it at any time, but held out to examine all of you and only used it at the last second"
"What other clues has he given us?" Neptune asked.
"Hmm, there is one other, it's about a technique he showed you, it involved the use of several fireballs. He showed that he had trouble using external magic giving you an idea that he isn't able to use long ranged attacks well giving him a bit of leisure so you wouldn't expect him to do the fighting for you. That's it, those are the two clues he has told me"
"He's a bit diabolical isn't he?" IF asked.
"Yes, I believe so" Neptune agreed.
"But wait, what about the two of us? I'm interested to know what he knows about me" Compa added.
"Compa, just ask him lat-" She pulled out her phone "He sent a message… I'll tell you later, it's too much of a pain to explain over a message or ask Neptune" IF read out.
"Even he is implying that I have an idea, it would be a better bet to say that Iffy has better deduction skills than I do" Neptune said.
"But I'm wondering, did he really just send that?" Layla asked.
"No, don't tell me he dropped it and someone picked it up?!" A panicked IF asked.
"No, it's just it's strange for someone who doesn't even know how to turn on a tv use a phone" She added
"A television, what's the problem with not knowing?" Compa asked, before anyone could answer the mysterious stalker appeared with her flowing white hair and similar appearance.
"You know, you really stand out when you're in that form. You ought to stay like that all the time." She spoke confidently.
Compa then replied "Who, you again? You're persistent. Nep-Nep, you should hurry and… Oh yeah, you already transformed."
Neptune seemed slightly amused at her challenge "…You wish to fight again? You've lost once already. Care to make it twice?"
"Tch! I like that you know how to tick me off. Makes me want to hit you for massive damage!" She exclaimed with excitement.
"Before that, I'd like to know why you're coming after me. I apologise for any wrongdoings I committed against you in the past, but everyone needs more clarification" Neptune said.
"Compa, who may this be?" Layla asked.
"Oh, yes that's right, you don't know, she is a Nep-Nep addict"
"Nep-Nep addict?"
"Yes, a Nep-Nep addict is someone who is constantly stalking Nep-Nep and failing" Compa explained.
"I see, makes sense"
"That's not the definition of an addict Compa" IF told her.
"We're destined rivals, but I don't intend to explain myself to you. If you want to know, defeat me first!"
"Very well, if defeat is what you wish for then I will gladly grant your wish" Neptune added with confidence.
"You defeat me?! Don't go deciding things on your own!"
Layla flew in front and bowed "Hello, I'm Layla Light, the Great Spirit of Light, it's a pleasure to meet you"
The opponent was dumbfounded as IF pulled her back "What're you doing, we're going to be fighting"
"Oh, but isn't customary for humans to greet each other?"
"Then what about the guy from Avenir?" IF asked.
"I didn't trust him, this person however seems different and easier to understand"
"Is this because she is a girl?" Compa asked.
"Yes, probably, it's usually the human males you can't trust"
Neptune then spoke to the stalker "Excuse me, but I believe you should move away from that specific location"
She smirked and was brimming with confidence "If you want to attack me, go right ahead, you don't need to attack me from behind"
"She's not very smart is she?" Layla asked.
"I don't think so" Compa added.
"You never know what kind of person wants to stalk Nep" IF said as they all looked at the ceiling above her, slowly seeing cracks.
The ceiling then broke as a gigantic dragon fell through onto the stalker, making debris fall and to add a red haired teen sat on the fallen dragon, although had two gun holsters, each holding a different coloured gun, one white and one black.
He looked to be in thought and spoke to himself "Hmm, I think I can tell between fake and real monsters now, but I wonder who's making all these monsters?"
The fallen dragon then dispersed into data as he added "Oh well, suppose I'll figure it out later" He landed on the floor with a thud as he then performed some stretches "But still, even the dragons in this dimension are weak, I prefer the monsters in my dimension, they were an actual challenge to kill, but it did give me a good warm up" There was no longer a ceiling as light shone through.
The squished girl slowly got up and rubbed her head "What was that?" She asked.
His back was turned on the stalker, but the moment he turned around about to apologise he pointed at her "IT'S YOU!"
"Huh? Who're you talking ab-Oh, it's you" She said in a disappointed tone.
"You little son of a-"He said until interrupted by a tap on the shoulder.
He turned his head to see IF as she raised her hand as if expecting something when she said "Phone, give it"
His rage subsided as he searched his pockets and pulled out that same green phone and gave it to her "Here you go, I don't think it's broken"
She snatched it from his hand and examined it thoroughly "If you broke it, I'm going to-good, it's not broken" She placed it back in a pocket.
"Um, could you finish that sentence, you know, the one before you confirmed it's not broken?" He asked.
Layla then interrupted "Sky, do you know this girl?"
"You mean that lonely stalker over there?" He asked.
"Yes, otherwise a Nep-Nep addict" Compa confirmed.
"Is she perhaps a friend of yours?" Neptune asked.
"Sort of, I mean she did buy me food, but after we reached the Basilicom, she ditched me in the middle of the city, I was lost for a little while and it was so scary"
"Yeah, we heard you panicking when you called" IF added.
"But you don't know how to use a phone do you?" Layla asked.
"Oh, it's fine, computer taught me how so it's all good, so why're you girls here?"
"We were about to begin, but then you interrupted the boss battle" Neptune answered.
"Ah, sorry"
"Will you be joining us?" Neptune asked.
"Ha! Just because you've added another member into your party, don't think you'll win easily!" The girl yelled.
"Nep-Nep, I think she wants your attention from being so lonely"
"S-Shut up! I'm still going to win either way!"
"Get ready, she's going to attack" IF told them
"Wait, can I fight her by myself?" he asked.
"No, you can't" Layla denied him.
"Oh come on, she's really strong, I wanna fight her, please, pretty please" He begged the spirit.
"This part of you hasn't changed much… But stop being so selfish!"
"But I wanna fight someone stronger than me or spar with someone like that, it's really hard to find someone like that in this dimension" He argued
The spirit sighed and offered a compromise "If you stop being so selfish I'll do anything you want later"
He refused "I don't want it, I wanna fight her"
She then looked aggravated, but then sighed "One of you deal with him, if I keep trying I feel like he's going to keep hurting my pride"
"Very well" Neptune answered "If you help us with this victory, then I'll fight with you later"
"Really?!"
"Yes"
"Alrighty then, let's fight!"
"Neptune, could you please teach me how you can handle him so well?" Layla asked.
"Well there isn't much to it"
He put a hand to his chin and was in deep thought when Compa asked "What is it now?"
"Well, I wonder what kind of weapon I should use?" He asked himself as he took a few steps away from the group and raised his hands where a scythe appeared in a small veil of light "Hmm, I haven't used a scythe in a while" He then proceeded to spin it around his body and then above his head "Oh, wait, I could use something I've been wanting to try for a while now" The scythe disappeared in that same veil of light and reshaped itself into a pair of twin curved knives.
He threw them up and pulled out another pair and threw them towards a random boulder, the blades flew around the boulder creating cuts as he added the spare blades to that attack as all the flying edges flew in and then sliced it in two. They then flew back where he caught two and the others floated around him, he had a big smile on his face as his eyes glittered at that small feat "That was so cool… Yep, Imma use this for a little while, let's start" He sounded pleased with himself.
"Wait" The spirit said "Sky, I need a weapon to fight"
"You're fighting as well?"
"Of course I am"
"Fine, but remember you don't have any close combat experience, just stick with long range attacks or provide support with Compa okay?"
"Don't worry, I'm not stupid like you"
"Good" He let go of the blades and added them to the floating bunch and pulled out a normal looking brown and wooden bow "I know you still don't like guns so here, but don't break it, I like my weapons in one piece when I get them back"
"You know me so well"
"How could I possibly forget, you almost accidently killed me with a gun once"
She waved her hands in the air "Y-You don't have to bring that up!" She had lost her composure and was somewhat embarrassed.
"H-How did you- never mind, I'll ask you later" IF said, questioning his abilities "So Nep, what's the plan?"
"The plan is to be victorious!" She exclaimed with confidence.
"You know just how to tick me off Neptune! I can't wait to see that look on your face when I win!"
"Nep ,that's not a plan, anyone else got one?" IF asked.
His childish demeanour disappeared and was replaced instead with confidence and a devious smile "That depends on what kind of plan you want IF, simple or complicated, you choose" He said.
"I want a plan that leads to victory" She replied.
"Complete and utter victory or just barely winning?" He asked.
"What do you mean by barely winning?" Compa asked.
"Never mind that Compa, I want a complete and utter victory" IF stated.
"Alright, then everyone is to follow my instructions" The group closed up, he poked his head out and asked the lady "Hey, do you mind waiting a little?"
"Fine, even if you make a plan, the outcome will still be the same either way!" She yelled with confidence.
Neptune then joined "You have a point, we'll still come out triumphant"
"Why you little!" She sighed and placed a hand to her head "Now I'm starting to act like Blanc"
After a few minutes they stopped the group "Everyone know what to do?" He asked them.
Everyone nodded as Neptune said "Get ready to lose"
"Let's have some fun" He said as he grabbed his daggers and threw them towards his enemy.
"Is that it? Are you even trying to hit me?" She mocked him as she easily dodged them without any effort.
"Who says I'm trying to hit you, at best they're to distract you at what's to come, but" A deceitful smile appeared "You'll lose soon enough, it's only a matter of time"
"Matter of time? What are you planning?" She asked as those same blades kept attacking from various directions, but to her, dodging something like this was child's play.
"That's something you'll find out for yourself, Neptune, whenever you're ready"
"Yes sir" She charged with blade in hand at the enemy, the two clashed.
"Neptune, I've been waiting for this"
"Does this mean you've been following us this entire time?" Neptune asked.
Her face went red "N-No! I just happened to be passing by when I saw you!"
"I see, good luck dodging this" Neptune moved to the side as the mystery woman saw Compa and Layla taking aim, one with a syringe and the other with a bow and an arrow of light.
She brought up her blade as a shield and could feel the onslaught of attacks as bullets and arrows attacked her front and blades attacked every other area possible, she saw the brown haired one was missing, but had no time to think about someone else. Neptune on the other hand attacked the blade and flung it to the side, however her grip was strong as she kept hold off the massive sword.
That firm grip made it worse as the weight of the sword moved her body, leaving her defenceless where Neptune dealt out a series of slashes all perfectly executed, pushing her back.
She was seen to still be in good condition as the bullets, arrows and flying blades didn't cause too much harm.
"It seems I didn't deal enough damage" Neptune commented.
"Obviously, I think it's time I got serious" The enemy exclaimed with confidence, as if the onslaught hadn't fazed her.
"Yes, warm ups are over aren't they?" Neptune and the mystery woman stared at each other intensely.
"She doesn't seem to be hurt" Compa commented.
"Yeah, well that's the point, we're meant to distract her" He said as he caught a pair of blades and threw them into the ground and caught the other two "All we're providing is support, IF, Neptune and I are the only ones strong enough to deal the finishing blow on this opponent"
"By the way, do you think Iffy is board of just waiting for her chance?" Layla asked.
"Probably" He answered.
"Do you think Iffy has anything to do while waiting?" Compa asked.
"Not likely, but I'm sorta getting board as well, after all over the course of the battle all I've been doing is catching the daggers and throwing them again"
"Do you perhaps want to join Nep-Nep?"
"I might, I am getting bored… Layla get ready once we commence battle again" He stared directly at the two sword wielders "But like Neptune said, warm ups are over, how about we take this up a notch? The hard part starts now! You ready!"
"Do you even need to ask?" They took up their fighting stances and began battle once more.
"Ah Neptune, how I love you so" He took a deep breath and threw the two blades in the air as the pair in the ground flew up into his grasp, he threw them, repeating the same action with the ones he threw. Although he did something a bit different and drew more pairs of the same dagger and threw those as well until they were surrounded by flying blades attacking the pair of fighters
Layla was just staring at him "Layla, what're you doing? I know you're holding back and all, but follow the plan or did you forget it?" He asked
"No, it's just when you say that I feel like there's something wrong with me" She mumbled
"You sick?" He asked her.
"I don't know, we'll figure it out later" She began to make incantations as she drew a light green arrow, in front of the bow a few green magic rings appeared from large to a smaller size.
Compa sighed at the density of the female spirit.
The two fighters fought within that blitz of blades attacking indiscriminately. But as they fought they were managing to dodge and could be described as dancing, beautiful and graceful through each of their movements.
"Excuse me, but I confess that I don't actually remember who you are, but must we fight?" Neptune asked as her attention was not on the battle itself, but on the conversation.
"Tch, you're not even trying are you?"
"Honestly… Not as much as I would've hoped"
"I like your confidence, makes me wanna try even harder!"
"Strange, I feel I've heard that same phrase once before, perhaps its déjà vu?" Neptune wondered.
Neptune, you're mi-OW!" The hilt of a dagger just smacked her cheek "They're protecting you?!" She felt that the blade had gone straight for her face as she held off Compa's bullets and flying daggers as she noticed she was right in the middle of the assault "I need to regain my footing"
"How can you do that when your feet aren't touching the ground?"
"It's an expression!" She saw an area where the blades weren't reaching as the blades were only covering a certain area or radius and charged for that opening, a blade went straight for her, but she easily deflected it and had reached outside the radius.
She looked back to see that Neptune wasn't following her "Finally, I can rest"
She was met with IF "Surprise" She performed a combo involving her Qatars and some kicks.
"How good's your aim Layla?" He asked.
She smiled "Perfect as always. Run like the wind and borrow thy power" She aimed at IF and fired.
The arrow hit and a great gust of wind flew from her as the wind engulfed her, making her move faster where IF went straight through and pulled off more attacks causing much more damage until the enemy was finally launched into the air, IF jumped towards the wall and propelled herself towards the mystery woman going straight through her with her blades of wind where she landed in a spectacular style with her arms facing outwards and her back facing the enemy, she stood up straight and flexed her arms to hide her weapons, pulled out her phone and commented "You've just been hit by a gust of beautiful wind that blows through Gamindustri" From that comment, the enemy was still in the air the wind picked up and several slashes occurred.
She remained in the air, tired and weak
"Layla, Compa, ready?!"
"Leave the magic to me"
"Right, I'll do what I can"
He brought his arms up, each blade surrounded the woman in the air, 12 in all, he crossed his arms, one forearm over the other as they attacked leaving a cross like shape in the air. "Sky, have you gotten weaker in the time I haven't seen you?"
"Like hell I have, I'm stronger now than I was before" The two extended an arm and stood back to back. The blades had an ominous glow as magic circles appeared on the blades, half had white ones and the other half had black ones. One of each different coloured blade combined together to form a black and white energy spewing from the edges of the blades themselves which became the same size as that of her white broadsword.
The two then yelled "Eclipse Blades!" The 6 combinations slashed at the enemy several times before lining themselves up on opposite sides and then going straight through where the effect disappeared and the blades separated. They moved and lined up side by side, in front of each of them were black and white magic circles, 6 of each.
"Compa, wanna join in one the fun?" He asked her.
"But I don't know how to use magic"
"Don't worry, just hit the white magic circles and I'll hit the black ones and name it"
"N-Name! I'm not good at naming things"
"Compa, the name corresponds with the attack, just imagine what it will do and pull out a random name, so Compa you ready?" He pulled out his pair of white and black guns, each with a red glow at the end of the barrel.
"N-No!"
He spun them in his hands and threw them upwards "Well, it's too late to back out now" He caught them and pointed them at the big targets "Homing shot!" He pulled the trigger on both, from each three flaming shots swerved and flew through the air to hit their targets.
Compa aimed her syringe "U-Um, Luna weaving!" She fired consecutively six times all in one moment, each hitting their targets.
The light and dark blades did just that, they moved in a double helix pattern making a beautiful attack, afterwards the blades fell to the ground.
The woman had hit the ground hard, but was still standing.
"You're still standing huh, Neptune, finish her!" He yelled.
"Don't worry, this is my special, I'm going all out, be prepared! Neptune Break" She held the blade in one hand in front of her, focusing with her eyes closed. Purple energy radiated from her purple katana, she held it up and took a stance.
She charged pulling off big slashes one after another from different directions and going straight through her opponent and launched her, Neptune paused for a moment, jumped and cut her once more with a horizontal slash.
Once on the ground she threw her blade up and asked with confidence "Save the best for last, right?" She caught her blade and launched her opponent again, paused as a purple circle appeared beneath her as if charging up. She flew towards her enemy and went straight through as a bright, purple beam of light, charged at her in mid-air and pushed as hits gathered only for it to hit the ground and make a big X purple mark upon impact.
"…I won again. Spill it." Neptune ordered
"You look the same, but you've changed so much. How can you look so proud while involving humans?" She asked.
"What if we're not human by any chance?" He yelled.
"Huh? Who here isn't human?!" She asked with a rude tone.
"Um, I'm half" He said.
"I'm not human at all, does it really matter much?" Layla asked.
"You initiated the battle. Tell me about who I am." Neptune demanded
"…"
"No way! I'll admit this was a draw, but there's no way Lastation has lost!" She yelled in defeat.
Everyone was just confused as Compa asked "What are you bringing up Lastation for? What are you talking about? I know! What if Lastation is actually a huge transforming robot…?"
His tail sprung up with excitement as curiosity filled his eyes "Ooh, that would be so cool, is that possible?!" He asked with excitement.
"That's fresh. It's possible on Planeptune, but here? I don't think so." IF corrected.
His tail fell down as his ears dropped slightly "Aw, it's not, too bad, we should be in Planeptune then" He looked somewhat sad.
"Don't talk down about my homeland! You'll definitely regret it one day!" She yelled as she ran away.
"She's running away! Nep-Nep, get her!" Compa yelled only to look back "…Whoa, y-you're already…?"
"Aww, candy wrappers. I'm outta juice today. Until next time, lady. Well, let's go back and get some yummy food."
"TO FOOD!" He yelled
"YEAH!" Neptune joined.
"Why is he excited about getting food?" IF asked.
"I think he's just a little bit sad that Lastation isn't a gigantic transforming robot. I just don't understand his fascination with weird things"
"Yeah, they're weird, hey Compa you alright?" IF asked.
"Yes I'm fine, I didn't get hurt"
"Good, let's get out of this damp cave" She said while walking.
"Wait, IF, show me your foot" He said.
"Why?"
"Don't ask, do it"
"No, I don't have to"
"Alright, fine I didn't really wanna do this but… NEPTUNE, COMPA, RESTRAIN HER, SHE MIGHT BE HURT!"
"YES SIR!" Neptune yelled.
"You're injured, then we have to treat you"
Compa and Neptune instantly grabbed her arms "Now then IF, let me see your foot" She was thrashing around.
"Iffy, stop, he's doing this for your wellbeing" Layla urged her.
"She's not gonna stop, so I'll do this the hard way" He grabbed her right foot, she immediately stopped, her face showed slight symbols of pain "IF, if you weren't slightly limping I wouldn't have known. You kept your composure so well"
"It doesn't hurt that mu-OW!" He squeezed her foot slightly and took of her boot and looked at her foot, it was somewhat swollen.
"See, you must have sprained your ankle, it doesn't seem too bad"
A green light was emitted from a green aura of some sort from Layla's hands "Just give me a moment and I'll heal it"
He grabbed her hands "Don't, you might do more harm than good"
"W-How dare you! I am the Great Spirit of Light, you think I can't heal a measly sprain?!" She asked, offended by that comment.
"I'm not joking, you might potentially kill her if you actually try to heal her"
"Oh, I might?" He nodded.
Neptune let go and began to overreact "IFFY'S GONNA DIE! NOOOO, SHE WAS SO YOUNG AND SO BRAVE, WHYYYYY GOD, WHYY?!"
Compa then joined her and also let go "No… Iffy, I promise you'll be in my heart forever"
He swiftly moved to catch her, he then stared into her eyes intently. Neptune then added "Go on…Kiss her before it's too late"
"N-Nep! He's not going to do that! A-Are you?" She asked as she looked away
"Not unless the situation calls for it, but seriously Neptune, could you stop overreacting? Or else I'm going to go over there and put you to sleep"
"HIYAAAA! Just try it and you'll get a taste of my Nepfu!" She then took a random martial arts stance.
"Do you think you can stand by yourself for a little while?" He asked her.
"Yeah, you were just messing with me huh?" IF asked.
"Somewhat yeah, I'll heal it now"
"Alri-Wait, somewhat?"
"Compa, stop crying, IF isn't dead yet"
"S-She isn't going to die?"
"No, not yet, but I ask that you do one thing"
"And that is?"
"Get ready to catch Neptune"
"Catch? How do I get ready to catch Nep-Nep?"
"Expect me to push her towards you"
"Come at me bro" Neptune said as she did punches and kicks.
He sighed "Goodnight" He stopped a punch and tapped her forehead with his finger. He grabbed the front of her hoodie and directed her towards Compa "Here, catch"
"Nep-Nep, is she… She's asleep?"
"Zzzzz… pudding, gimme more" She mumbled in her sleep.
"Yeah, she was starting to get on my nerves, back to IF" He ran back and put his hand on her forehead "Hmm, I can't tell properly from that ice dragon, my hand is still a bit numb" He lifted the bangs off his forehead and her forehead and put his against hers with his closed eyes "You don't seem to be getting sick yet, may as well get rid of that swelling as well" A blue flame covered her foot and it slowly healed up until it appeared to be completely fine
She was slightly embarrassed "Y-Y-You… Y-You're…" She mumbled her words.
"Oh, sorry am I a bit too close?"
She nodded.
He pulled back "Layla, did someone teach you how to supress your mana?"
"Yes Undine did, she told me I had to so I could lose those spirit hunters"
"Good, cause if she didn't IF would be dead right now or extremely sick depending on her luck"
"What happened to me?"
"The entire explanation and everything?"
"Actually no, just tell me my chances of living through this" She grabbed her head "I'm feeling dizzy, is this cause of whatever I have"
"Yeah, but I'm surprised you're not already on the ground sick as hell, you must have a better resistance then most, but your chances of surviving are generally non-existent, you've been given too much magical power by Layla, if it were less then you could survive… I should probably find that lady and make sure she's still alive"
"Has this been proven? You know, with actual people?"
"Yes actually, I was one of those test subjects sometime around ten years ago or was it a bit more than that? Oh well, doesn't matter"
"Just one more question"
"Yeah, what is it?"
"Is there a cure?"
"I have absolutely no idea whatsoever"
Compa then answered "I see so there's no cure"

…
…
"W-What! There's no cure! What do we do? What do we do Iffy? I don't want you to die!"
Her eyes were wide open "I don't know! I don't wanna die… I know, I'll do whatever I want in the time I have left, I've never even been on a date before, never held hands, never been in a relationship and I've never… Never kissed anyone before!"
"Um, I sorta feel like this is going to go in a somewhat inappropriate direction"
"You'll have to do!" She grabbed his hands and leaned in towards his face. Her heart beating rapidly as she inched closer and closer.
She felt something grab her arms and he felt something trying to pull him away.
"Iffy, e-even if these are your last moments, you don't need to go that far" Compa told her.
"Don't you think this joke has gone a bit too far?" Layla asked him.
"J-Joke?! This was all a joke?" IF asked.
"Yeah, sorry about that, don't worry there is a cure and the earliest you could die is in a few hours… sorry"
Her face just went red as she put her boot back on and faced the wall "I can't believe I said those things, I could die of embarrassment, someone kill me" She lightly banged her head against the wall.
"Anyway, let's do the cure, Layla, Compa, hold her down"
"Is she going to be thrashing around?" Compa asked.
"I don't think she'll thrash, she'll probably just sink to the floor afterwards" Layla answered. Compa was just confused.
The two grabbed hold of her arms "Is this going to hurt a lot?" IF asked.
"Oh, don't worry, it'll only hurt if I rip it out of you, but I'll be going slowly and gently"
"Y-Yeah, be gentle"
Layla then whispered in her ear "Don't worry, it won't hurt a bit, it'll just feel a bit strange"
"W-Wait, what do you mean?" All Layla did was merely smile.
"Alrighty let's start" He took a deep breath and raised an arm "Spirits, hear me for I call out to you, listen to my plea for your support and cooperation, lend me thy power and allow me your aid in purifying the soul of one who is in pain" He lowered his arm to his front and in the palm of his hand a red orb of energy appeared "For I give this offering of strength to you, for you to feast upon. Heed my call and appear from your realm!" The red orb rose and shrunk to nothingness where a white glowing dove appeared.
The small animal rested on the palm of his hand "Will you make a contract with me for a little while?" It responded by climbing up his arm and was resting on his shoulder and rubbed its head against his neck "T-That tickles, stop… Anyway, let's begin. Spirit of light, one of hope and purity, I beg thee to give me the power to help thy comrade and loved one, I ask of you to form a contract with thyself and allow me the honour to be your friend"
The dove flew up and turned into a white energy like form which resembled a bird, it flew around in the air as a mature female voice asked "Human, do you see yourself worthy to form a contract with a spirit?"
He went down on one knee and placed a hand onto his chest "I am not inferior nor am I superior to your being, but to be seen as worthy or not is not my judgement. However, if you truly wish to decide then do so after I have shown you proof" He stood up straight "For I am a Rune Knight, Captain of squad 117 and have been given the title by my commanders Phoenix Knight of Planeptune and I sign this contract with you!"
"Very well human" The flying light went straight into his chest, a light appeared on the back of his right hand, once gone what remained was a white magic circle and on his back two massive white wings appeared.
"Contract completed, nice to meet you spirit of light, I'm Sky, what's your name?" He asked as a dove was perched on his shoulder, it tweeted "Oh, nice name"
"I must have died already, I'm seeing an angel" IF commented.
"It isn't that impressive, my wings are better" Layla mumbled.
"Alright, time to get to work, IF you might feel a bit weird"
"What would happen if you just ripped it out?"
"It would feel as if I was ripping out one of your nerves while it was still connected to your body"
"Please don't rip it out"
"Just chill" His hand had a faint white glow to it as he placed his hand just below his neck.
"Hey you perv, where do you think you're touching?!" An enraged IF yelled.
"Your chest obviously, this is where I can take it out effectively and it is the easiest place to remove foreign mana"
"You're just lying to grope me!"
"I'm not touching your private areas, I'm touching the area above it okay, so shut up and let me do my job!"
"Iffy, he's not lying, but there is one other area for females that he could touch" Layla told her.
"But Layla, are you sure he absolutely had to touch 'there'?" Compa asked.
"Just touch the other area!" IF yelled. Layla whispered into IF's ear "Actually no, please don't, just stick with my chest" She urged.
"What's the other area?" Compa asked.
"Compa, lower your ear for a sec" IF said, she lowered it for a moment as IF whispered into her ear.
Her face went completely red "W-W-What, d-does this mean you've performed this operation using that 'area'?" Compa asked.
"No, I've stuck to the chest area, this is generally the best place for anyone, so stop complaining, I'm going to start now, you might feel a bit weird" the magic circle began to glow.
"W-Weird, what do you mean?"
"Oh, I dunno, it's different for everybody"
"W-Wait! I feel weird!" Her face turned a bit red.
"I can't, we've already started"
"T-Then hurry up!"
"I-Iffy, are you feeling okay?" Compa asked.
"Y-Yeah, it's just-kyaa!" She hugged him as her legs and arms were wrapped around him, her breathing was heavy and hard as her face was red.
"Iffy, that was such a cute sound" Compa commented.
"I wanna pet her" Layla added.
"Just great, I was planning on pulling it out, but pushing works as well, Layla can you help?"
"Kay, just relax Iffy, it won't hurt one bit"
"Remember, all you're doing is pulling it out slowly"
"Y-Yes, I know, I-I've seen you do this before" She placed her hands on IF's back and slowly pulled out a white energy.
"Is there anything I can do?" Compa asked.
"How about you calm down IF and make sure Neptune isn't dead?"
"Oh, that's right, I left Nep-Nep on the floor!"
"Wait, you seriously forgot?"
"Well this was so interesting, Iffy is sweating a lot and breathing heavily, how are you feeling Iffy?" She just stared at her not having enough breath to answer from the stress of this operation "Hmm, I wonder what that feels like?"
A few minutes later they finally finished with IF gasping for breath and passed out on the ground and Layla holding a big ball of white energy.
"Go ahead Layla, re-absorb it" He told her.
"I don't want it, it's my own mana, it doesn't taste like anything"
"Then I'll give it to my contracted spirit" He held out a hand expecting her to give it to him.
"Only if you gimme some of yours" She held out her other hand in expectation
"Why?"
"If you're going to mine away, it's only fair that you give me an equal amount"
"You have to use fucking logic at a time like this."
"All you have to do is give me a quarter, it's not much"
He then mumbled "It's not much she says, freaking spoiled spirit" He sighed "Fine, but I still have to feed her with my own mana as well you know"
"I want more than what she gets!"
"But you just said-oh who cares, we can solve that later"
"Um, is mana good to eat?" Compa asked.
The biggest grin formed on Layla's face "Yes it is, especially his, you have to try it, it's so sweet and delicious from being exposed to different types of magic, it's like a delicious dessert, just thinking about it makes me go a bit-" She had her hands on her cheeks as a drip of drool was seen.
"Is it honestly that delicious?" Compa stared at him with puppy dog eyes.
After a few moments he gave up "Fine, you can have some, but if you get addicted like she is I get to give out punishments for being greedy, open wide" She opened up. He lifted his finger, a small red orb of energy appeared before he flicked it into Compa's mouth.
A wide grin formed on her face as well "Oh, it must be a sin to have something so delicious, it's exactly as you described it, only better" Compa commented.
"I know, I did my best describing it with words, but the sensation can't be explained using words, but if you're going to give Compa some you have to feed me too!"
"Like hell I will! Last time I let you gobble up my mana, you almost killed me!"
"But it's not like you're dead is it, I didn't consume your life force"
"No, not unless I say it's okay"
"Fine, I can always just take it by force"
He sighed "Whatever. Now the question is who's carrying who" They looked at the fainted teens laying on the ground dreaming who knows what.
