Hello Cuties! Check me out updating so soon! I had to do this as my girl Imissyoumyvalentine has been worried sick about our B&K so, for you my Darling V, here is Bane kicking some serious butt. It's what he does best after all! (apart from sex...he's very good at the sex!).
Kit looked on in amazement tinged with slight nausea as Bane tore through the other occupants of the room. Several were killed by a sharp and sudden twist of their neck, a couple knocked out by huge upper cuts delivered to the weakest part of their jaws. The tall thin man who was waiting to reduce her son to nothing more than Dorrance's personal chemical supply, was subject to a headbutt from which nobody would recover. And the old woman who had been Kit's most persistent tormentor over recent days?, Bane slashed her throat with his flick knife and left her to bleed out on the floor. The others were taken out of the picture by the other members of the League who had entered room a few moments after Bane.
Mae-Ling and Barsad were among them, the latter looking at the former with nothing short of utter pride. He had just witnessed this nurturing and caring woman cut down four huge men outside the building and one slightly smaller guy inside this room, in her quest to get to her friend. Bane had also noticed her substantial efforts and realized that the one other person who was as eager to find Kit as he, was Mae-Ling. He made a mental note to make sure she was greatly rewarded for her tenacity and courage in the very near future.
Within seconds, the room was secured and Bane approached Kit, glad to see that she was beaming at him. He had thought that she may be mad at him for allowing her to be taken, for letting her be subject to his fathers vile attentions, for not coming to her aid sooner. But it was clear that she wasn't feeling anything apart from relief to again be with him. As he stood as close as he could get, she rose up on her tiptoes and kissed him sweetly on the cheek. Then she whispered in his ear "Here's your son, he's been waiting to meet you!". Bane's breath caught in his throat and his eyes's crinkled and the edges. Kit knew this meant that he was smiling. As he looked at his child, he realized that not since the dark day that Talia al Ghul was brought into his life, had one person been so utterly dependent on him. But this time, it was different. This boy was of his blood. He was his and Kit's and nobody else would ever replace him in this boy's life. Bane had been willing to accept punishment, expulsion, world wide hatred and and life of servitude for Talia. But for this boy, and for his mother, Bane would happily give his life. He had offered this to Talia, but only because she had promised to be with him when their lives ended. Then she had left him, abandoned him, forgotten him in her quest to avenge her fathers death. In that moment, Bane knew that he would never think of Tali Al-Ghul again. He had found someone more faithful in Kit, and something more worthy of sacrifice in his son's barely opening eyes.
Kit looked at his partially covered face, marvelling at every slight change to the shape, colour and expression of his eyes as he gazed at his son for the first time. She thought she saw a tiny amount of moisture beginning to well in the right eye, but kept that fact to herself with a secret smile. "Do you want to hold him?" she asked softly. He returned his gaze to her and looked suddenly scared at her question. He was about to say something when Mae-Ling stood at his side.
"Kit?" the nurse-assassin asked. "Please, I need to check you and the baby first, if that's okay?".
"Yes" Bane croaked. "Let Mae-Ling do what is necessary, while myself and the others finish our task. I'll return to you soon Kitten and then, you, I and our boy will go home". Kit nodded in agreement and graciously accepted a kiss on the forehead from him, before he and Barsad silently and stealthily left the room, disabling the security camera en-route.
It didn't take long for Bane and the rest of the League members to locate Dorrance, but when they did, they realized that defeating him would not be an easy task. He was surrounded by at least 20 of his best men and the fact that none of these had been used to guard Kit riled Bane. Dorrance was more concerned with protecting his own skin than that off his love. He had left her bound and defenseless with his hired ghouls, subject to their obvious lack of care while in childbirth. He felt the rage grow within, but Barsad's hand on his shoulder reminded him that they could only take this man down one way. Bonded in the same thought, both men scoured the room for a major electrical output, while their brothers fought off Dorrance's bodyguards. Bane quickly identified as possibility, and nudged Barsad to indicate his discovery. Barsad nodded and left the room for a second, reentering only moments later with a piece of machinery resembling a defibrilator, but that had been the focus of intent scrutiny by Bane's personal doctors over the last few day. Changes had been made, tweaks had been tweaked and now the output of this particular piece of equipment was much greater than any other of its kind.
"Are you sure you wish to do this Brother?" asked Barsad. "You do realize that the user of this machine will also be rendered helpless for a while?".
"I do and I am Brother. Nothing will stop me from exacting my revenge on him. He has it coming, and I should be the one to administer his punishment!".
Barsad took a deep breath and then reached up and deftly unfastened Bane's mask, throwing it to the floor. As Bane stumbled to the ground in a mixture of shock at Barsad's actions and crippling pain at the loss of his tailored analgesics, Barsad leaned into his ear and quickly whispered "That is exactly why you cannot be the one to do this, Brother. Let me and then you are free to finish him!". Before Bane could stop him, Barsad was upon Dorrance, having spotted an opening in the throng of warring men in the room. Bane looked on as Barsad jumped on Dorrance, pinned him down and quickly used the machine for it's intended purpose. As Bane felt slim fingers reattach his mask, he looked to the side to see Mae-Lings face staring at him, purposely not looking towards where her love was sacrificing his life for them all. A single tear rolled down her pale cheek and she spoke softly "He wanted to do this. He said you must be the one to end your father and that you could not do this if using the machine would lead to you being incapacitated".
She helped Bane to stand and as the League overcame the last of Dorrance's men, they linked arms and strode over to the two lifeless bodies. Mae-Ling immediately knelt at her lover's side and began to administer a specialized cocktail of drugs she had made last night, after Barsad had told her of his plan. As she withdrew the needle, she put two fingers to Barsad's carotid artery and smiled as she felt the faintest of faint pulses. Two gurneys were brought into the room and as Barsad and Dorrance were placed on and strapped in, Kit entered the room holding her boy. She looked on with horror at the sight of Barsad, deathly pale with a tinge of green around his eyes and mouth. Kit's eyes rose to meet Mae-Lings and searched them for answers. Mae-Ling merely shrugged her shoulders and said "He told me he had to be the one to do it, so that Bane was able to end Dorrance. I agreed. You would never be free from that man unless he was dead and Bane is the only one strong enough to finish him now that Barsad has knocked out the power to his implant supply".
Bane put his arms around Kit and supported her weight as he lifted her and his child into his arms. He carried them through the devastation and bloodshed, making sure that her eyes were either on him or their son the entire time. Although he knew that she was more than aware of the cost of her rescue, the fact was that she had recently given birth under the most horrific circumstances. So, she now had to be protected and coddled no matter what the cost. He gently entered a vehicle and as Kit moved to alight out of his arms and into her own seat, he stopped her. ""There is a seat for you and our boy my love, but at present, I can find no safer place for you than inside my grasp".
"Agreed" was all that Kit said as she snuggled into his body further and allowed her eyes to close.
As she opened them again, Kit was pleased to find herself back in her home and still in Bane's arms. Mae Ling was stood at the side of them, anxiously waiting for her friend to rouse. Mae-Ling had already given the needed care to mother and child upon their rescue, but now other things had to be done. Mae-Ling leaned over her friend and said "Come on Mommy, lets get you and that boy cleaned up while Daddy takes care of other, more grueling business!".
"Mae-Ling, how is Barsad?" Kit asked.
"He is as well as can be expected. The drugs I administered to him will leave him out of it for a couple of days but he will recover to full health". Mae-Ling responded.
"So he doesn't need you to attend to him right now then?" the older woman asked.
"No, I'm free to see to you and your son, as is my primary objective within the League at this moment".
"Then see to the baby, I wish to join my future husband as he puts an end to his past. He needs me there. Don't you?" she asked, turning to Bane. He slowly and almost imperceptibly nodded.
"Very well" replied Mae-Ling. "But you need some attendance too Kit, don't stay away too long. You've fed him once but a big strong boy like this will be needing more sustenance soon!".
"I will, we won't be long" said Kit as she rose from Bane's lap and passed her son to her friend.
As they left the room together, Kit turned to Bane and said "When will you hold our son Bane?".
He sighed, knowing that this question had been troubling her since she had first introduced him to his child. "When my past is ended, I will fully embrace my future" he replied. Kit smiled at his answer and understood completely. He did not want to hold their boy until all traces of his former life had been removed. Talia Al-Ghul was gone. He no longer thought of himself as a monster, but as a man supremely placed to rid the world of corruption and deception. He had to place the final nail in a metaphorical coffin, by ensuring that the man who started his and his beloved mother's journey into darkness was no more. But Kit knew, that it would be better for him not to do this alone, if at all. So she steeled herself to ask him a question.
"Bane, nobody should ever have to kill a their own blood, no matter how despicable that blood is. Let me do this for you, please?"
"No Kit, you are unsullied and innocent in things such as this, I will not make you murderer when you have only just become a mother".
"Bane, over the last few days, that man has tortured me in every way possible. I cannot pretend that his hasn't changed me; it has. While your fathers sins on you are not greater or lesser than mine, my own are more recent. Plus, consider the irony in a woman ending his misogynistic and hate filled life. That would be true retribution". She paused for a moment and let her words sink in. Then for added effect, she spoke again. "I also told him the other night that I was going to shoot him up the arse after you had beaten him to a pulp, and I don't like to break a promise. Consider this my initiation to the League if you will, but given my treatment at his hands over recent days, I think I'm more entitled to deliver his retribution".
Bane simply nodded as they entered the room together. After spending twenty minutes subjecting his father to any physical hurt he could dream of, Bane strode over to Kit, who was waiting for him. leaning casually against a wall with a smile on her face. He readied a firearm for her and lifted it to her hand. For a moment, he felt her pause and knew that despite her earlier words, she was also not ready to do this alone. He took her hand in his and closed it around the gun, snaking his thick finger with her slender one along the trigger. They approached the prone man together and although Kit had earlier told of her desire to shoot Dorrance in a lower place, they both knew that a shot to the back of his head would be both immediately fatal and a fitting end to his wretched life. They lifted their arms together and before they squeezed the trigger, Kit looked at Bane, reached up to kiss him on the cheek and whispered "I love you".
The shot rang out all through the house and at its sound, Mae-Ling, sat at Barsad's bedside with a newly bathed baby in her arms, kissed the infant on his forehead and said "It is over little one, your parents are now free of their pasts and can concentrate on you!". At her words, Barsad's little finger of his right hand trembled slightly, as though he was reminding her that they both were also pledged to this boy's life. Mae-Ling smiled again, knowing that it wouldn't be long until her man would be back at her side.
