Aro's POV

"I demand an explanation this instant!" I shouted at the mass of vampires that were in front of me. This whole situation was absolutely ridiculous.

I was waiting for my meal and I was faced with a very happy satisfied Alec, saying that Jane had made Edward Cullen's nightmare become a reality. I wasn't in a very good mood since Hiedi was taking her time to reel in some humans.

"Relax, master. Jane's here. She'll explain" Alec said calmly as he stepped aside so Jane could reach me.

You could see in her eyes that she was nervous. She was hiding something. Normally she would walk into our home with confidence in her security here. Whatever has thrown her off surely means something. Something troubling too.

I didn't greet like my usual way. I just held out my hand to be able to read her explanation and hopefully search her mind for the reason of her insecurity. She gave me a weak smile and took my hand. Once her cold palm met mine flashes ran through my head as I watched impatiently.

I was walking in the cobblestone streets of Italy, just wandering around without an aim, when a familiar scent I would never forget hit my nose with a sharp impact.

I looked around the street and didn't find anyone. There was a small turn

I followed my nose hoping it would take me directly to my destination without much trouble.

I knew this scent. I smelt it before, but I was denied from having it. It was the scent of the one human that has ever put my powers to shame. It was a scent of a human that shouldn't have stayed human. It was the scent of non other than the Bella girl. Edward Cullen's mate.

The first thought that occurred to me was revenge. I wanted to kill her with every fiber of my being. She has been the only one who wasn't affected by my power. Some of the vampires thought that since I can't harm her then she's stronger than me. Preposterous.

Of course she wasn't. I could prove it now. I could kill her and prove to everyone that a fragile human wasn't stronger than me. I could gain all my pride back right now. There would be no more mocking of Jane, Elite member of the Volturi Guard.

"You're that girl. The one the Cullen boy tried to protect" I said wondering how honest she would be.

"I'm sorry I have no clue what you are talking about" She said in a very horrible Italian accent.

"You are I know its you. You reek of the scent of the girl that somehow escapes my gift. I thought you were supposed to be changed right now. So you could live forever with your dearly beloved." I said with a glare.

"The Cullen family and I are experiencing relationship problems, and I am separating from them for a bit." she said choking on her own words.

There was another woman. I could tell. He ditched her for a vampire. Finally he has seen the light. But now, what to do? Hmmm. Well I could always kill her for him, but that would be doing both of them a favor. And I don't do favors. My smirk widened as I had an idea.

"Oh I am terribly sorry but that does not excuse you from our deal"

"I don't suppose you could just look the other way and I run?" she asked a bit of hope etched into her voice. Not a chance.

"Sorry Bella. I need you to come with me."

"Please I have a family"

"Vampires have no need for family. I wish I could just let you go, but I have a feeling Aro would be a bit upset" I said lying through my teeth.

I would take my revenge from her by simply letting her live in her pain forever. That would be a nice revenge. And I just don't like Edward, he irritates me, so since he didn't want to change her, I will. He'd hate that, and he would hate it even more, since he left her. He would have to live the rest of his existence watching her pain. He was such a good person that he would feel guilty. I smirked even more.

And in a second my teeth were on her neck, and her screams were already faltering. I dragged her into an alley and left her writhing in pain.

I drew my cold hand back silently. Thinking. Deliberating. Then anger flashed inside of me as I understood the entire situation.

"Jane" I said anger starting to spur within me.

Jane seemed somewhat proud of her actions, it was clear from the hesitant smile that was drawn on her lips.

"So you changed Isabella Swan?" I mused loudly.

"Yes master" She answered confidently.

"And you simply let her go?" I said through clenched teeth. She knew she was in trouble.

"yes, master"

"Did you even think to bring her into me? To give me the decision whether to kill her, let her live, or change her"

"but the deal you made with the Cullens-"

"it doesn't matter. You should have brought her here"'

"I am sorry Aro"

"you very well should be. She was the one that blocked out all of her powers, who knows if her power has even exceeded all of ours put together."

"Aro she was never more powerful than me. I still could have beaten he-"

"Jane you must get over this sick jealousy you have for her. She stumped us all"

"I am NOT jealous"

"I am positive you are"

"You think she is better than me too?! Aro be real I could kill anyone of you if I wanted."

"Watch your words Jane" I said making sure she knew she was pushing it.

"Aro I am better than her, better than most of you"

"Jane that is enough"

"No its not I am superior-"

"Jane! Silence!" I yelled telling her that I had enough of this.

"I- I'm sorry master, I don't know what came over me."

"Jane I want to see her gift. You took that from me. I want you to go to the Cullen residence and bring me back Bella Swan, or don't bother coming back at all.

"Master you know the Cullens will never give her up, unless its true that the fight really ruined all of there chances together."

"She belongs to the Volturi now. They wont argue with us once they realize that you staked your claim on her."

"How do you figure that Aro" she asked

"you bit her did you not?"

"yes master but-"

"so your venom courses through her veins?"

"yes"

She furrowed her eyebrows and cocked her head, "I do not understand"

"She was bitten by a member of the Volturi" I stated, they nodded in agreement, "Volturi venom. She is rightfully ours"

Silence was spread all over the room. They looked stunned for a few seconds before Alec talked.

"Master, why would we need her in the first place? We are strong without her? Aren't we enough?" Alec asked upset at the idea of letting her into our guard something that hasn't been done in decades.

"That wasn't what I meant Alec." I said shaking my head, "She is strong. Her gift is completely unknown. She showed promise as a human. We will see how she would suffice in our world."

"I still don't like this Aro" Jane commented.

"I understand but this is what I want"

"You don't think the Cullens will give her up that easily do you?" Alec stated

"I don't care"

"what if they refuse"

"take guard members use force if needed"

"how much force Aro?" all these questions were getting on my nerves.

"as much as needed"

"as far as-" I cut him off

"just get me what I want."

"Yes master"

"I will have something Carlisle Cullen can't have. Do you hear me? Jane gather up a group of gaurd's and bring the girl back to me. I don't care what it takes. I want to win this round"
