Chapter 11

The Original Warrior of Light

[Veritas]

Hikari and I stood in front of Aster Mythos just stunned by what we just heard. "I-I'm sorry?" I asked. "No, no, that's impossible. The Keyblade has been around for millennia." Hikari said. "And?" Aster said. "Huh?" Hikari and I said in unison. "Don't you guys get it yet? Or do I have to explain it to you?" Aster said. Hikari and I gave each other a look. "No, Aster, can you please explain?" I asked. "Mythos. You call me Mythos." he said. "Alright. Mythos, can you please explain yourself?" I asked. "Certainly. I am what you may call a Demigod." Mythos said. "A Demigod? Like Orpheus and such?" I asked. "Eh, sort of. I've never had a father. Only a mother. Vita Mortem." Mythos said. "Hmm? Vita Mortem? The goddess Vita Mortem?" Hikari asked. "Wait who's Vita Mortem?" I asked. "She's the creator of all life. The Realms, universes. She even creates each person's heart." Hikari said. "Oh, no kidding." I said.

Anyway, I am her son and the current watcher of the Realm of Light." Mythos said. "Realm of Light?" I asked. "That's where we live. There's the Realm of Light, Darkness, and Twilight." Hikari explained to me. "Hmph, smart girl. Not many people know about the realms. Who taught you?" Mythos asked. "My dad. Nao Lionheart." Hikari said. Mythos raised an eyebrow. "So you're Nao and Dawn's kid? I can sort of see it now?" he said. "You knew my parents?" Hikari asked. "Knew them? They trained under me… Probably the reason Nao sent you to me." Mythos said. "Wait wait, we're getting off point. You said you were the Keyblade's first wielder, right?" I asked. "Oh right, indeed. I am the original warrior of light." Mythos said. "Can you explain why I have it if you're still alive? And how it came to be?" I asked. "Oh that? I'll make it quick for you. So as you may know, I am of a pair of triplets. There's me, Zel: The Ruler of the Realm of Darkness, and Nexus: The Ruler of the Realm of Twilight." Mythos said. "WHAT!?" Hikari and I both exclaimed. "You guys didn't know that? What did Nao tell you guys?" he asked. "Nothing really if I'm being honest." I said.

"What in the… ugh, jeez. Alright let's recap very quick and I'll try my best to explain. So, Vita Mortem was my mother that gave birth to me, Zel, and Nexus. Now we were given the jobs of guardian each of the three realms. My realm was Light, Zel's was Darkness, and Nexus' was Twilight. For the first few hundred years, everything was peaceful… until Zel was overtaken with Darkness." Mythos explained. "Wait, Zel wasn't always consumed by Darkness?" I asked. "Nope. He was the strongest willed person out of all of us, which is why my mother chose him to guard the Realm of Darkness. Anyway, once he was corrupted, he became greedy. He began consuming worlds in the Realm of Light, taking hearts and creating his minions, the Heartless. Once he started invaded, Vita Mortem came down and granted me a weapon to fight back the Darkness, the Keyblade." Mythos explained.

"Um, excuse me? I was wondering if you're a demigod and can live forever I'm guessing, why don't you still have the Keyblade?" Hikari asked. "Well, if you shut your trap, I'll get to that. Now where was I? Oh yes, I remember. For a few thousand years, I was fighting Zel alone, but he started catching onto my fighting style and magic so our fightings always ended in stalemates. I was running out of choices so I took a risk. I decided to pass on the power of the Keyblade to a person with a strong sense of justice and a good heart. And like a flame on a torch, the power got passed down from person to person, each person standing more of a chance against Zel. Unfortunately, no one managed to surpass him." Mythos said. "Hey Mythos, what happens when a Keyblade wielder doesn't get a chance to pass it down?" I asked. "Well, I put a spell on the Keyblade. If its wielder were to pass before they got a chance to bequeath the blade onto another, it will search for the person with the strongest heart nearby. Any other questions?" Mythos asked.

Hikari and I looked at each other. Just to make everything clear, you're a demigod ruling over our realm who used the Keyblade to fight off Zel, your brother, and decided to pass on your Keyblade in hopes to defeat him. Am I clear on everything?" Hikari asked. "Pretty much." Mythos said. He reached into his desk and pulled out a bottle of liquor and poured himself a glass and chugged it down. "S-so, you just sit here in your tower all day now?" I asked. "When I'm not training new wielder, yes. I still have a duty to watch over the realms. Now are you done?" Mythos asked. "I think so… yeah I believe so." I said. "Great, now follow me." he said. He got up and let the room to an adjacent room. We followed him in, noticing that we entered a large empty room with wooden weapons and dummies.

"Alright kiddos-" Mythos said before I interrupted him. "Veritas, my name is Veritas, and she's Hikari." I said. "Fine, Veritas, Hikari, watch this." he said. He snapped his finger and multiple clones of him appeared around us. "H-huh?" I said. "Now, attack us." they said. The clones started floating around us in a circle. Hikari and I drew our weapons. Suddenly, we both heard voices. "You're worthless." "You'll never defeat him." "You'll never be a hero." "Everyone you love will die." "You will watch all your friends perish." "All you care about died for nothing." they all said. I started to get mad as well as Hikari. The voiced kept talking, frustrating me. Hikari covered her ears. "Ugh, make it stop" she said. I nodded and looked around. Those voices, they really pissed me off. "I had enough! Firaga!" I said. I summoned large rings of fire around Hikari and I. The fire struck the clones, making them disappear until all that was left was Mythos, who looked upset.

"Terrible… Just awful…" he said. "Huh? What are you talking about?" I asked. "Both of you let those voices get to your head. If you were fighting the Heartless, you'd both fall to Darkness." Mythos said. "As if! There's no way we'll fall to Darkness." I said. "You say that now but you don't know the future." Mythos said. He took out a cigar and lit it using a golden lighter. "Both of you are strong and have strong hearts don't get me wrong but you both have a long ways to go in order to defeat Zel. Veritas, you fight with emotion instead of thinking moves through and you, Hikari, are struggling with something deep within your heart, clouding you thoughts and distracting you from fighting." Mythos said. I looked down and gripped my Keyblade tight. He walked up to us and patted my shoulder. "No worries kid, all you need is some training in the right direction. Now both of you, follow me. I'll give you your training assignments." Mythos said.

Mythos left and I was about to follow but I noticed Hikari was still looking at the ground. "Um, hey… Hikari, you alright?" I asked. "Oh, hmm? Y-yeah, I'm okay." she said. I gave her a concerned look. I could tell something was bothering her. Maybe her dad? She said she was okay but I'm not sure. She walked out of the room and I followed her.
