Aftermath:

Following the episode- A girl in a Flower Dress. My story will continue from there and eventually include the following episodes that air.

CHAPTER 12: Her Decision

Skye left AC's room in a sort of daze. She needed to think.

On the one hand she wanted to rejoin the team, because they were like a family to her, but at the same time she didn't want to go back for it to be how things used to be. She knew if she was going to rejoin the team there was someone she was going to have to talk to.

She headed towards the room that Agent May was supposed to be in and knocked on the door softly. She heard someone moving in the room and backed up a step as the door opened.

May's face remained emotionless as she looked at Skye.

"Yes?" she asked

"ummmm" Skye said starting to regret coming to May at all. "Can I talk to you for a sec?" May sighed but stepped aside and allowed Skye to enter her room.

Skye stood awkwardly in the center of the room trying to figure out where to start.

"I um… well I wanted to say Thanks you know for helping rescue me…and uhhh" Skye faltered looking at May. God could she ever show any emotion? Skye thought.

"I was just wondering really, like….well you see the thing is…as you know Coulson invited me back onto the team…and I know he said the entire team said it was okay, but I was just wondering if you really were okay with it…I mean we've never been friends or anything ..I mean I kind of always got the feeling you hated me…" Skye said mumbling the last few words.

"Look Skye, It isn't that I hate you, I just don't really trust you after what happened with Miles.."

Skye flinched as she said Miles' name.

"Sorry, I'm glad you're safe now and that Tony and the team could help to find you, but trust has to be earned Skye, so if you're going to come back you better be ready to earn that trust back."

"I am I swear" Skye said quickly.

"Then that's all I need to know." May said.

Skye nodded taking that as her cue to leave

"—and Skye?" May said before Skye shut the door, Skye popped her head back in looking at the older agent. "I'm glad you're okay" May said softly. Skye nodded and then shut the door behind her.

Skye made her way back to her room thinking about what May had said. Trust had to be earned. She wanted to earn their trust but it was hard for her to do that when she wasn't allowed to use technology at all. That was really the only thing she felt good at. The question how was she going to do that with her internet nanny, she thought about everything Coulson said. She could, if she wanted to have a new life, away from shield, minus the bracelet which only monitored her in case she did anything illegal, but other than that she was free, to live her life and figure out who she was as a person away from all the crazy.

She lay down on her bed, dreading the moment when she would have to tell the team her decision, and before she knew Simmons was knocking on her door telling her it was dinner time.

Skye sighed, knowing that after dinner she had to tell the team her decision.

"Thank you so much" Skye said looking at Pepper and Tony.

"You're welcome dear" Pepper said, she had become very fond of Skye of the past week and was sad to see her leave.

"And thanks to you too guys" she said looking at Fitzsimmons, May, Ward and finally Coulson.

"Well I think it's time for us to go." Coulson said looking at his team. They nodded and slowly made their way onto the plane.

"You sure this is what you want?" Coulson asked double checking as he stood on the bus's ramp looking at Skye.

"Yeah I'm sure" she said smiling.

"Well like I said, before, it's a front row seat—"

"-to the craziest show on earth" Skye finished. "But it's not just that…its home" Skye said stepping onto the ramp to join Coulson.

Coulson walked over next to Skye in the holocom room and handed her a new bracelet. "It doesn't restrict anything except for S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff that you don't have clearance for but other than that you can do anything you want, just know that everything you do will be recorded and the data sent to my office so I will know what you're looking at."

"Okay" Skye said happy that it didn't really restrict her from anything except S.H.I.E.L.D. The rest of the team looked around smiling at Skye.

"Now what?" Fitz asked.

"Now, it's back to business" said Coulson.

AN: Hope you liked it…I decided on making a sequel to Aftermath, and it will now tie in all of the episodes that came out after A Girl in a Flower Dress. I just thought that this was a good way to end Aftermath.
