Authors Note: Hey! This is kind of a small adaptation of the next chapter to another story I'm writing. It's a sequel. But in the other one, Lucy had gone missing and this is kind of the flashback to the night Lucy went missing, because all of the reviewers are requesting a flashback. So here it is. Ah, but you don't care about other stories (Review/PM, or just read all of my stories, if you want to know which story this is) you care about this story. So without further adue, I give you, Forgiven!

(P.S. thank you for the follows, favorites, and reviews, (fORTY RREVIEWS?! *faints*) don't forget to follow, favorite, and review, and since I forgot my little end signature at the end, her it is again. Hope you enjoy!)

"Shhh, we don't want to wake up Mommy and your brothers, okay Nashi?" Natsu whispered to his daughter in the dark. Nashi nodded her head in determination and reached for their house's front door knob. The door slowly creaked open and the two slipped in, careful to make as little sound as possible.
Like ninjas, the two slid and slipped around the house making no noise. It appeared as if they weren't going to wake anyone up when a lamp in the living room turned on in it's dimmest setting. The what felt like blinding light revealed Lucy, a robe wrapped around her in a comforting way, but her eyes were anything but homey.
"Welcome home you two," She whispered icily, her dark stare fixated on Natsu. Both Natsu and Nashi swallowed in fear, and shrunk back slightly. "I-I am going to go get ready f-for bed-d now," Nashi whispered before dashing towards the stairs. But she didn't go upstairs. Nashi, like a ninja, hid around the corner, listening to their parents conversation.
"I was worried sick, Natsu! You could have told me you were going on a mission with Nashi!" Lucy whisper yelled.
"You wouldn't have let us go though," Natsu muttered in return as he tried very hard to not make contact with her stone cold eyes.
"EXACTLY!" Lucy screeched, suddenly not caring whether she woke up the kids or not, "I had specifically told you I didn't want Nashi going on any mission until she was 13! Hear that, Natsu? Thir-Teen. Have you forgotten her age? Because last time I checked she was 10!"
"I was there! Nothing bad would have happened!" Natsu shot back.
"How do you know that! You could have turned your back for a second and something could have happened to her!"
"Don't you think you're being a little over protective? She's our kid, she can fend for herself!"
Lucy lowered her gaze, trembling in anger, or that's what Natsu thought at first. But then he smelled the saltiness of tears, and his heart instantly broke into a million pieces.
"Leave."
"Luce, I-"
"I SAID LEAVE DAMMIT! Just… Just grab a blanket. You can sleep on the damn couch tonight." Lucy looked up at him, her eyes flashing and hot tears rolling down his face. Seeing that he didn't just imagine the tears made him feel like hugging her, like comforting her. But at times like these he had learned to leave Lucy alone. The more he did, the worse he made things.
Natsu looked away, and started going in the direction of the stairs, around the corner, where he ran into an eavesdropping Nashi. Tears were in her eyes, and her teeth were sunk deep in her lip to stop herself from crying.
Natsu sighed and smiled softly at his daughter before picking her up and carrying her up the stairs.
"I-it's all my fault that you and mommy fought!" She sobbed quietly into Natsu's ear. Natsu rubbed her back in slow circles and hummed in her ear, hoping to get rid of the tears that looked so much like Lucy's.
"It's my fault, don't worry about it, okay pumpkin?" Nashi sniffled in return and rested her head on Natsu's shoulder. It was silent for a few moments before Nashi spoke up again.
"Y-You and mommy aren't getting a divorce, are you?" Natsu's eyes widened at the question, but they then instantly softened.
"Of course not, mommy and I may fight sometimes but that just shows how much we love each other." Natsu whispered into her ear.
Seeming satisfied with the answer, Nashi gave a small nod on Natsu's shoulder and closed her eyes. After a few beats, her even breaths could be heard and Natsu smiled. He set her down in bed and kissed her forehead, staring at her peaceful, sleeping face for a second.
"Good night, my little girl," Nashi hummed as a response. Natsu turned towards the door, glancing at his daughter once more before slipping back into the hallway. From there he went into his room, grabbed a pillow and blanket as instructed and made his way back downstairs.
The light was off in the living room and he could hear Lucy rustling around in the kitchen. He sighed and made a little set up on the couch in the living room, and then he hopped on, snuggling beneath the thin blanket.
Lucy could be heard walking up the stairs towards their bedroom, slowly, thoughtfully.
"Night, Luce," Natsu whispered out, hoping she wouldn't hear it, but at the same time hoping she would. No response followed, though Natsu did note the she had taken a pause in her climb upstairs. Natsu grinned and closed his eyes, waiting for sleep to come.
.~*~.~*~.
Natsu couldn't sleep. The quietness of the house bothered him and he wanted Lucy's warm body next to his. And he felt guilty, very guilty. Lucy was right, he should have told her he was taking Nashi on a mission, and, well, he shouldn't have even gone in the first place. And her tears… Guilt was eating him through and through, and at this point, cuddling was the only option.
Natsu kicked the blanket off of his body and sat up, looking towards the dark staircase. Leaving his pillow and his blanket, he started walking up the stairs towards his bedroom. When he reached it, he opened the door slowly, scared that he might wake up a sleeping Lucy.
"Natsu?" Lucy's voice whispered into the dark room the second Natsu peeked in. Natsu smiled softly and began padding towards the bed, happiness filling him up due to the feeling that he was forgiven.
"Luce." Natsu whispered back before slipping under the covers beside her. She didn't get into their cuddling position as Natsu had hoped, but she did let out a sigh of what seemed like relief, which was perfectly fine with Natsu.
"I'm sorry Luce, I...I don't know what came over me. It was wrong of me not to tell you where I was going and it was horrible to go against your wishes. I don't know a lot about my reason behind it, but I do know that I am so sorry." Lucy let out another sigh, but then rolled over closer to him. She placed her head on his upturned, bare chest, and placed her left hand right below it. She wrapped one of her legs around one of his, and curled up her toes. He was forgiven.
"I'm sorry too, Natsu. Maybe I overreacted a little bit, but… If I were to lose either of you, I don't know what I would do." She nuzzled closer to him.
Natsu grinned and slipped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. He turned his head and rested his lips on top of her blonde hair and hummed softly. She was so cold. They were quiet for a little while, listening to the sounds of each others breathing, when Natsu quietly broke the silence.
"I love you so much, Lucy." Natsu whispered to her. Lucy smiled and tilted her head, planting a small kiss near the base of his neck.
"I love you too, Natsu."
And the two stayed like that, quiet and warm, happy that all was forgiven.
