Sam POV

I am the luckiest man in the whole world. Every time I look at Bella I know that is true. Just to walk out of my office and see her sitting there at the dining room table … there are no words to describe it. Her smile makes me forget about all those lonely nights. The nights when the depression and alcohol left me passed out at that table. "Diner and a bon fire." She said into the phone as she twirled the cheap little ring she picked out in a Vegas pawn shop around her finger. It was too lose and had another woman's name engraved on the inside. It probably was not even worth the one hundred dollars they paid for it. Yet, she did not care. "Dad nothing is wrong with Billy. It's just going to be at Sam's because his mom is coming." She reached out and touched my hand as I walked over towards her. "I will see you tonight then." She said before she hung up the phone. "He knows something is going on." She said with a laugh as I sat down next to her. "Emily called while you were in the office. She is going to come help me get ready for this dinner."

"Alright. I need to go into the shop for a while. Then I am going to pick up my mom." I said as I watched her continue to fiddle with that ring. "I am going to get you a new one soon." I told her.

"No. I love this one." She said as she looked at it. "This is us. Simple, classic." She said as she looked at me and pulled her hand close to her.

"At least let me see if Angelo can size it." I said as I thought about the only jeweler in Forks.

"I will wear it on my thumb." She said as she looked at me giving me those puppy dog eyes she has perfected.

"Bells, I promise I will bring it right back to you." I said as I took her hand.

"You better." She said as she let me take the ring. I just leaned in and kiss the top of her head.

"Is there anything you need while I am out?" I asked her.

"Can you get some of my clothes from the apartment?" She asked as she looked me. I just nodded before I got up.

"I love you." I said as I looked at her.

"I love you too. Be safe." She said with a smile. Yep, I am the luckiest man in the world. There is no doubt about it.
