Chapter 12

Peter's POV

It was almost dawn. I slipped out of bed as quietly as I could, and put my shirt on. My sword sat on the table, and I sheathed it into my belt. I took one last look at Wendy before heading out the door. The hideout was quiet; everyone was still in bed. I grabbed a glass of water before flying out the door.

The air was chilly, and fog covered the ground. I flew along the trees until I spot my target. The white sails of the Jolly Roger hovered above the line of forest, visible for anyone to see. I flew quickly towards it; my eyes locked it as it grew closer and closer. My anger grew larger and larger as I approached the ship.

I was going to kill Captain Hook.

Wendy's POV

I woke up and stretched my arms. My heart sank when I realized that I was alone. I got out of bed and walked to the door. I could hear the boys in the living room, so I guessed Peter was there with them. I made my way down the hallway to find them all scrambling about in the main room.

"Oh, hey Wendy!" Slightly said, stopping.

"Morning," I said. "Where's Peter?"

"We were hoping you would tell us," One of the Twins said.

"So he's not here?" I began to become worried.

Tiger Lily and Magi walked into the room. "What's going on?"

"Peter's gone!" I said, turning to look at her.

"Well we need to find him," She said. "Tinkerbell said there are pirates crawling all over the island!" My heart dropped to my stomach, and I turned back to the boys.

"We have to find him, soon." I said, and all of the boys nodded. "Where could he be?"

"He could just be with the Faeries," Curly said, trying to convince me that he was okay.

"Or in the crocodile's stomach," Nibs said, rolling his eyes. "What?! He could be!" He responded to all of our death glares.

"No, he's right," Lily said from behind me. "If Hook somehow got him, he could be or will be dead."

"But how could Hook have gotten him?" Slightly chimed in. "If he were here, he would have taken Wendy. They share a room, and Hook wouldn't leave Wendy behind."

"Then how did Peter just go missing?" Tiger lily asked again.

"Oh, God." I mumbled. They all looked at me. "Peter went to the Jolly Roger on his own. He was talking about it last night, but I didn't think he'd go today."

"Should we go after him?" Tootles asked.

"We have no choice," Magi said, his deep voice full of concern. "He could be killed by himself."

"When should we go?" Tiger Lily asked.

"As soon as possible," Noah walked in, joining our conversation. "I'm not going to let my friend get killed when I could have been there to help him." I nodded, as did everyone else.

We decided to leave within the hour. I rushed back to our room and changed my clothes into my shirt and pants, and grabbed my knives. I French braided my hair to the side, and made sure it was secure. What? I didn't want my hair coming down while I was killing people. Anyway- Tiger Lily and I were the last ones out of our rooms, and the boys were waiting in the main room impatiently.

"Gosh, you guys take forever!" Nibs exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air. Tiger Lily looked annoyed, and I rolled my eyes.

We all walked out of the hideout, well, we ran. We weren't that far from the coast, where the Jolly Roger was. It took us about an hour, and I pleaded with all my heart that Peter was okay.

I just hoped we wouldn't be too late.

Peter's POV

The Jolly Roger was always loud, the men aboard always singing and yelling at each other. Fights broke out every twenty minutes, so there would be no way I could slip in unnoticed. I had come totally unprepared. Great thinking, Pan.

No, no I would win this. I had to. I couldn't leave the boys behind, I couldn't leave Wendy. I imagined how she would react if she found out I was dead. I imagined her body crumpled on the floor, refusing to move, too broken by sadness. That tore me apart. I couldn't see her like that. I wouldn't.

I finally scraped up enough courage and a good enough plan and flew toward the ship. There was a fight going on, and I guessed that that was the best time to sneak on. I flew onto an emptier deck, and dove behind a pile of barrels. I looked around them to see a short and stout man knocking on the Captain's door. Smee had gained weight since the last time I'd seen him. Finally the door opened quickly, and the devil himself stood there, his long red coat hanging off of his body.

"What is it, Smee?" He asked, obviously annoyed.

"Oh, well, Captain, I was just- err. . ."

"Well spit it out Smee!" The Captain yelled suddenly. Smee jumped back.

"Well Captain, I was wondering if we have a plan to when Peter Pan finally comes. You know he'll be here any day." Smee still seemed cowardly.

"Of course I know that. But I have a plan. Some of my men are out looking for his little whore right now. If we find her, we find Pan. And once we have them," He let out a small chuckle. "We'll make them suffer more than we ever have made anyone."

My heart melted. They were out looking for my Wendy. What if she had left the hideout to look for me? She probably had, dammit. Great job, Pan. You leave your girl back home, expecting her to be safe, and bam- you put her in even more potential danger. There was no doubt that those pirates could resist her; the other ones sure couldn't. I couldn't bear to think of the awful things they could do to her.

I had to get back to her, but I couldn't leave when I had such a great opportunity to kill Hook. He was right here, right in front of me, with only Mr. Smee to protect him. It was such a perfect opportunity.

It was then that my foot slipped. GREAT JOB, PAN. It rammed into one of the barrels, and well, you can guess what happened next. Thanks to my amazing foot placement, I was now exposed by the falling barrels.

"Pan!" Hook exclaimed, drawing his sword. I drew mine, stepping closer to him. "You dare coming onto my ship?!" He bellowed this. We were now less than ten feet apart, and Mr. Smee had fled the scene.

"It won't be your ship for too long, you bastard." I growled, and then swung. He deflected my blow with his sword, and then swung back at me. I jumped out of the way just in time. I swung at his neck, and for a second I thought I had gotten him, but he had stepped out of reach just in time.

This went on for minutes, until the other pirates had (finally) noticed my arrival on the ship, and charged at me. I managed to kill five or six, but my target was only on Hook. The sun would not set until his head was off of his shoulders. I finally spotted Hook sneaking back into his cabin, the coward.

I started going after him, but a rather large man came up behind me, and before I knew it, I was laying on the ground, and my vision went out.

Wendy's POV

"What's going on?" I heard one of the boys whisper from behind me.

"I can't see him," I whispered back. We were near the coast, looking directly at the Jolly Roger.

"Wait! I see him!" magi said, and we all leaned further. "Right there, behind those barrels," I finally spotted him, and I was so relieved that he was okay.

"What's he doing?" Noah wondered aloud.

"He's waiting for the right moment to get Hook," Tiger Lily stated.

"Well, right now would be the perfect moment," Magi said. "Look at him! Hook is standing there, with no pirates to save him."

"Mr. Smee is there," I said jokingly.

"You're right, Smee would definitely fight off Peter Pan to save Hook," Magi joked back, and I smiled at him. We kept watching the ship, waiting for Peter to do something, but that's when the barrels fell.

WOW.

The one time Peter messes up, is when death is on the line. That made me feel so good! Peter stood up defiantly, and then started walking closer to Hook. That was when he swung, and they started fighting.

"Come on, Pan. Come on." Noah whispered.

That was when a loud grunt behind us made us all turn and look.

"Slightly!" I screamed, seeing three giant men surrounding the Lost Boy, who was lying on the ground helplessly. He was keeping watch. We all charged towards them, when at least eight more pirates jumped out of the trees. The rest of the group fought off the pirates, while I slumped at Slightly's side.

"Slightly. . ." I whispered, looking at him. He looked back at me sadly, like he was about to give up. "No no no no no no, don't go. You can't Slightly. Don't give in!" I pleaded, but when I saw his wounds, I knew there was a very likely chance of him dying. Tears flooded my eyes, and fell onto him.

"Wendy," He whispered, looking at me. He reached up and touched my cheek softly. "Get to Pan. He needs you. We all do."

"No, Slightly. I won't leave you here!"

"You have to," Tears were filling up his eyes. I closed my eyes, and let out a few sobs.

"Hey!" I heard someone bellow, and I was lifted off of the ground by a large pirate.

"No! Slightly!" I screamed, kicking my legs as hard as I could. The man wouldn't let go. I looked at the rest of my friends. Most of them stood firm, and a few pirates were lying dead on the ground.

Another man grabbed onto my arms, and they pulled me away from my friends. "NO!" I kept screaming. I caught eye with Tiger Lily, my closest friend, one more time before I was pulled away by the pirates, not know whether I would see her again.

Oh my gosh! Suspense! I feel so mean…. Sorry you guys. But wow! I have goose bumps right now. Anyway, I updated two times in one day! Sorry for the short chapter. I'll probably update again tomorrow. But yeah! There will probably be less than five chapters left . . . but I'm still not sure. I'll see where I am at that point. Love you guys! xx
