This story happens around episode 27 of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. The story possibly contains spoilers, references etc. All cards in my story are from the Trading Card Game (so you might notice a slight difference from the anime). Also to avoid confusion I will point out that this story is a side story, which means a shorter story not necessarily connected to the main story. I hope you will enjoy the story. Get your game on!

A team of three (part 1)

Megan played with her skull earring. The last couple of days had been very difficult for her. She and Alice, her former friend from prep school, had started talking more and more to each other. Not that Megan disliked this; it was just… She never really got over the fact that Alice always seemed better than her. Alice had been more popular among the boys and the girls in prep school, she was better at dueling and the worst part was that she was beautiful.

With a sigh Megan laid down on her bed. Beautiful Alice…that was what Megan had called her friend many, many times.

"I guess, I'm jealous…" She said out in the empty room. Someone knocked on her door. "It's open." She proclaimed with a gloomy voice.

"Hi, I'm Rick." A Obelisk Blue student entered the room. "I have something to tell you…"

Surprised Megan sat up in her bed (who is he?). Then she recognized him. He was sitting right behind her in class.

"Hello. What is it you have to tell me?" Megan unintentionally played with her earring again. Rick was not answering; instead he walked up to her and brought his face real close to hers.

"Kozaky…" He said.

Suddenly everything around them faded away. The walls in her room turned black and all her furniture melted away. Megan no longer sat on her bed but on the ground.

Besides her Rick fell down on his knees.

"You…you're Megan right?" Rick looked at her. "Don't listen to what he says."

"What…?" But she did not get to finish before a small man in a white coat appeared in front of her.

"How do you like my dark room?" He asked and looked at Megan. "Ohhooo, what a fine lady we have here." The weird man had long bangs and behind a pair of glasses Megan could see a pair of wide opened eyes (this guy is…crazy?).

"Let her leave!" Rick got up and grabbed the scientist-looking guy by the white coat. The weird guy's hair got thrown back as Rick did.

With a gasp Megan saw that the man in white coat had an odd violent skin tone and a pair of horns on his head.

"Who the heck are you?!" She pushed herself away from the two.

"My, my…I'm Kozaky." The weird guy said and clapped his hands together. "Enough Rick." He continued and the Obelisk Blue boy let go from white coat. "Hmm, it seems like you are not completely under my control yet…"

Megan did not understand what was going on. She was actually scared. A guy named Kozaky, who was possibly crazy and a student who was controlled by that guy. This was really, really weird.

"Maybe I should test you…" Kozaky looked at Rick. "Test your loyalty. Defeat her in a duel." He pointed at Megan.

"You can't contr…" Rick's mouth closed. He did not have any control over his body. Slowly he got up and readied his duel disk. He stood there starring at Megan. She looked him in the eyes and saw that she was not the only one scared here. Somehow that made her braver.

"Release him!" She turned to Kozaky. But the white coated maniac just laughed.

"Of course…" The look in Kozaky's eyes was crazy. "…If you win, I will release him from my control. If you lose, you'll join him and be my little 'helper'." He laughed his crazy laughter once again.

"Think you can beat me?" Rick and Kozaky said at the same time. Their voices was one and the same now.

"I go first." Rick drew a card and placed two face-down on the field. "These two and I summon D.D. Survivor (1800/200)." A cloaked man appeared on the field. "I end my turn."

"I'm up." Megan drew a card. "That's what I want! I play Stumbling, this card will…"

"Not so fast." Rick flipped one of his face-downs. "Here's Magic Drain which negates any spell card you play. Unless you have a spell card in your hand that you can discard to negate Magic Drain of course."

Megan did not have any spells in her hand at the moment. Her plan about summoning a Dream Clown and activate its effect with Stumbling was spoiled.

"I still haven't summoned yet." She searched her hand. "I'll set a monster."

"It is not going to work." Rick activated his other face-down. "D.D. Trap Hole, this card will remove your set monster and one monster on my side of the field."

Both Megan's set Mystic Clown (1500/1000) and the D.D. Survivor got removed from the field.

"But my survivor will return, thanks to his special ability." Rick said. The D.D. Survivor returned to his side of the field.

It was not looking good for Megan.
