"Now that you got that out of your system can we get down to the reason I came." Said Mat getting up off the ground and dusting of the 500 year old black raw hide trench coat which at this point in time had seen better days.
"I thought you came for a visit, what is your real motive?" asked June looking at the old man with suspicion, remembering how Mat likes to beat around the bush when it comes to serious matters.
"I did come to visit but I also came to help train Jack on how to use his full power, his father has reappeared and has asked me to give him this, I don't know what is inside of it but I can tell it is powerful." Said Mat pulling an old but well taken care of red wood box with the Autobot insignia engraved on it out of a hyper-space storage compartment. Mat handed the box to Jack along with a jet black combat knife.
"My father asked you to give me this box? And why are you giving me the Black Sun." said Jack looking at the 13 inch black combat knife that Mat had forged over 170,000 years prior.
"Jack I made that knife for you, when your mother was pregnant with you I got a vision of you defeating a great evil and using a jet black knife to kill it, that is the knife from my vision The Black Sun a knife made from black cybermater." Said Mat with sense of pride and also great foreboding in his voice as he knew the hardships the young man would have to face in the near future.
"Wait how the hell do you know what cybermater is and how did you get ahold of the rarest type?" asked Arcee looking at the man she knew was hiding something and she was going to find out what.
"I made the black cybermater, as it is the main component of all of my armors and weapons." Said Mat pulling his sword The Matrix out and showing Arcee.
"That doesn't answer my first question." Said Arcee sternly as she was not taking no for an answer. Jack looked at his great grandfather with sympathy as he knew firsthand how bad Arcee could get.
"Well I learned what it was called and how to make it from an accent text I found in the old vampire capital Atlantis along with some very interesting information on our heritage." Said Mat looking at his family and the newest vampire Arcee knowing they would soon start asking questions.
"Like what?" asked Jack giving his great grandfather an emotionless stare that he donned while in battle, while Mat who loved knowing he knew something others didn't was almost reluctant to give up the information but the fear for his life was stronger.
"Well we are not native of this planet." Said Mat saying all that he knew in as short of a sentence as he could knowing it would pissoff his family.
"What do you mean?" asked Arcee who was getting slightly irritated with the man and was resting the urge to get her pent up anger out on him.
"Well the ancestors to modern vampires came from a different planet the name of which was unreadable as the stone tablet was very weathered and broken." Said Mat with a slight grin knowing that his discovery was a big one.
"Well, that actually kind of believable." Said Jack knowing the extent of vampritic technology.
"Wait your beveling him?" asked Arcee looking at her partner in shock.
"Yea, with our tech and ageing proses I wouldn't doubt we are descends of aliens." Said Jack thinking how similar their ageing process was to a Cybertronian's.
"What do you mean by with our tech?" asked Arcee thinking her partner and friend had finally lost it.
"Well if you didn't see great grandpa Mat pulled the knife and box out of hyper-space, and he has the tech to produce cybermater at a semi large rate." Said Jack in a matter of factly way.
"Wait you guys have hyper-space tech, that is beyond even modern Cybertronian tech." said Arcee dumbfounded at the level of technological advancement vampires had.
"I know." Said Jack remembering the lectures from ratchet he had to sit through on Cybertronian technology.
"Hey Jack can you open the box I want to see what is in it." Said Mat trying to save his great grandsons skin and his relationship at the same time.
"Oh sure." Said Jack pulling the small box out of his pocket and opening it.
"So, what's in it?" asked Mat who had a hard time not opening it before it got to Jack.
"I don't know." Said Jack looking at the glowing blue orb about the size of a baseball.
"I know what it is." Said Arcee looking at the orb.
"It is a matrix of leadership." Said Optimus who somehow just appeared.
"wait this is a matrix of leadership, an object that grants the wisdom of god and has the power to turn a evil man good and a good man great?!" asked Mat remembering he old legends about the orbs and their holders.
"Yes it is although it grants the wisdom of primus." Said Optimus correcting the old vampire.
"If this thing is that important I shouldn't have it." Said Jack holding the orb up to Optimus.
"Jackson I cannot take that as it has already chosen you to be its holder." Said Optimus knowing the young man was ready for it.
"My son is not keeping that." Said June giving her grandfather the evil eye for giving her son a dangerous alien artifact.
"Mom if you forgot this was a gift from dad not great grandpa Mat and you know as well as I do that he would not give me this if he didn't think I was ready for it." Said Jack trying to talk his mother into letting him keep the matrix of leadership.
"Fine you can have it when you turn 180,000 years old." Said June trying to make sure her son was safe.
"Mom can I just keep it, I promise I won't use it until I need to, ok" said jack hoping his mother would listen to him.
"You're not going to give up are you?" asked June knowing she had been defeated.
"nope." Said Jack in triumph.
"Now that is over, Jack, Arcee meet me in the training room in one hour we will begin your training then." Said Mat now in in his drill sergeant mode.
"Wait why do I have to train too?" asked Arcee hoping Mat was not just being a perv.
" well you two are partners and I doubt that you two have trained together and Arcee I need to get a reading on you skill and you need to get a reading on jacks style and skill." Said Mat not telling her the real reason for the two training together which was he was trying to get the two together.
