Authors Note: They have really updated this site for the filtering since I last checked. I updated the story so it has the OC character added to the character slot thing and I kind of updated the summary of the story. It was outdated. I know it's been a while. I've started up another semester of school and I had to take 2 summer classes, psychology and ethics. But enough about my life, it's about time I updated. I am thinking to finish this story in a few chapters. I don't want to be that author who never finishes anything. So here I go. Another chapter.

Chapter 12: Parking Garage

The ride leaving the motel was quiet and unnerving to say the least. The Joker hadn't said a word since he had woken up, which is strange because when he was awake it was a difficult task to get him to be quiet for only a few seconds. Jonathan was just staring out the window, he hadn't said a word since they had had that sort of heart to heart kind of moment. Raven drove down the road as quickly as possible, just wanting to get far away from Gotham as possible to put as much space between her and the Bats as she could.

Raven couldn't get what Crane had told her about the Joker out of her head. She knew she didn't actually know him as well as she wanted to, but she knew what she had been getting into the moment she had met them. Well, she knew sort of what she was getting into. Hell, she didn't know. She just did it. She ran away with two of Gotham's most wanted, and she was starting to freak out.

They had been driving for a few hours before she even saw the bridge that was their escape from this place. It took so long because she had to find ways to get through the city without them being noticed. This meant a lot of the drive had taken place through the Narrows as well as the back ways, which were overflowing with the homeless and the umm working class one could say.

Raven sighed as she saw the bridge, knowing their freedom was only such a short distance away. By now the two passengers had fallen asleep. She knew the Joker had hardly slept at the motel and Jonathan had a lot on his mind. When the car got in full view of the bridge she slowed down considerably and her breathing became sharp and erratic It was then that her choices really showed her what she was doing with her life. There sat at least every police atGotham had, or at least six of them. Which considering was quite a few. Batman must have come to the police when he couldn't find them the night before when they had taken refuge in the motel. Of course he would do something like that. She didn't really think she was going to get this far involved in this.

She had to stop abruptly and pull off to a side road, still not waking the passengers. Raven knew if she was caught with them she would be taken to Arkham or worse, be sent to Black Gate. That place would tear her apart and spit her out. It would change her and she knew it would break her physically and mentally. That moment hit her like a ton of bricks, her chest hurt and it was like the car was closing in on her. In those seconds the possibilities became endless. She knew how easy it could be to get out and tell the police that the people they were searching for were in the car, that they had brainwashed her. Joker had done it with Harley why not her?

As she had made up her mind to quietly get out of the car and leave them there she had glanced at Jonathan who sat beside her in the passenger seat and then took a look at the Joker who had fallen asleep in the most uncomfortable position known to man. Would they forgive her? Would they hunt her down? What would they think of her and what would they do to her if they did find her again? Raven sighed as she let a tear slid down her face. She couldn't do this. They were asleep, and even though this was unspoken, she knew this meant they trusted her. Trusted her to do the right thing. Looking back at the bridge and at her last chance of freedom, she started the car and drove back the way she had come. Crane was wrong. This was her point of no return and it hurt.

Driving she looked could see the bridge fade away into the distance as she pulled into an abandoned parking garage. As she stopped the car this time, she had jumped from the car and slammed the door shut which awoke Crane from his sleep. He looked around the car suspiciously, noticing that he sound had come from the driver's door. As Crane sat up and opened the door he could see Raven lying on the front of the car staring at the ceiling.

"I missed something," he stated, closing the door quietly and lying down beside her. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really," Raven whispered in return. As a few seconds past she breathed in. "We are trapped here. The bridge it overflowing with the police searching for you two, well. Searching for us now I suppose."

"We will find a way out of this. I promise," Crane smiled at her, lying through his teeth. If the police knew about them then they would be on full alert. They would search any car they would come across to find them. They needed a distraction, but he didn't know what they could do before they got caught beforehand.

The moments passed slowly before she spoke again softly. "Spiders."

"What?" Crane asked quietly, almost missing what she had spoke.

"Spiders," Raven said again more confidently. "I'm scared of spiders."

"You didn't have to tell me you know," Crane said getting excited that she had told him. That she trusted him enough with this information. Knowing that was why he was wanted by the Gotham police and Arkham. He liked scaring people.

"I know. But I trust you," Raven smiled. "I kind of have to know."

In those moment she had never looked as beautiful to him as she did just then. No one had ever given him their trust before. There was something romantic about the way she told him she trusted him. He had wanted to lean in for a kiss when they felt the car shake. As they both glanced back they could see the Joker rolling around trying to get out of his sleeping position. What he was doing was only making the girl laugh, something Jonathan found hard to do.

He frowned as the Joker had pushed himself unceremoniously out of the now open car door. Raven was now rolling around laughing. Why couldn't he have that same effect in her?

"It looks like we are still in Gotham then," the Joker smirked as he saw he girl laughing. "What did I miss then? And don't leave out any details, I want to be part of this gossip group you two have going on too." The Joker laughed as he put his hands under his chin as he batted his eyelashes at Raven, only causing her to laugh more.

"The police are covering the bridge, so there goes that option for the way out of town," Raven said as she somberly said, the question causing her to stop laughing altogether. "We are going to be stuck here for a while. I don't even know if it is a good idea to leave the parking garage anytime soon. Who knows how long they will stay there and which route they will be taking to leave. I just don't know what to do."

"We need a distraction," the Joker said. He laughed manically. "They will stay out on the bridge for as long as they need to you see. What will cause them all to leave is a distraction, and a big one at that."

"I know we need a distraction clown," Crane growled, sitting up. "But how are we going to create one. We have no communication that we can trust, and if we decide to do anything we will be caught before we can get anything done. It looks like we will just have to stick it out here until we can think of a better plan."

"Jonathan is right, "Raven spoke up. "We just need to sleep on it and in the morning we will talk about it again. Until then, we need to just clear our heads..." she looked at the Joker and gave him a pointed look, "and we need to eat something."

"Whatever you want doll," Joker smiled widely and winked at her. "I think there is something in the trunk."

She gave him a questioning look due to his helpfulness before she headed to the foods location. As she was gathering the food, the two men looked at each other.

"I know what you are going to do," Crane was the first to speak. "You are going to hurt her you know."

"I know," the Joker smiled as he let out a small laugh. "Gotham is where I belong, the bats is still alive so I still have work to do. You're just a washed up Scarecrow, you can have her. I didn't want her in the first place."

"When are you going to do it?"

They both looked at her as she closed the trunk, trying to balance the food in her small hands.

"When she is asleep," he answered. He then began to jump and dance towards Raven and made wild circles around her. It made her stumble around, but nonetheless brought a smile to her face. "Well, I think you need some help doll."

Jonathan stood aside as we watched their interaction with his calculating blue eyes before he made his way towards the two. Better make the best of it before the morning, when everything would change.

Authors Note: The next chapter Batman will show up again and it will have a lot more Joker in it that it has been having. I hope you liked it. I made this chapter long because I wanted to make up for the updates. Review!
