I do not own Sherlock, or Detective Conan. Japanese will be in Bold.
"Do you have any clue who shot at us?" Mycroft asked the two adults turned kids. He was mostly asking at Haibara because she used to be a member of the BO.
"I'm not sure, but I doubt it was Gin. He has a way better aim than that, wind or no wind. It could have been Vodka, or any other member of the BO. While I think Gin is here, I know he didn't come alone. Vodka would have been with him, but the leader could have sent someone else with them too." Haibara answered.
"I agree with her. Gin is a great shot, and wouldn't have missed me or Sherlock. The first shot would have hit it's target, most likely my head, and the second shot would have hit Sherlock's head before I even hit the floor, and you had time to re-act. If Gin had been the one holding the gun, we would be dead right now, and all this would be over." Conan said. They were heading toward a safe house Mycroft had told them about, Yusaku at the wheel.
"No matter who it is, we need to find a way to get rid of them. We can't let these two get caught." Haibara said.
"You can't even be seen by them Haibara. They'll know it's you right away. You've been part of the BO since birth. They know what you looked like as a kid. We've almost got caught that way before." Conan said.
Haibara's frown deepened. He had a point. It was a good thing she looked like a boy now. "We'll have to be careful." She said.
"This sucks. Everytime we get one step closer to them, they make a move that puts us back again." Kid said, his voice still female.
"This does suck. Ya'd think we could get close enough ta them ta take them down after all this time." Heiji said, shaking his head.
"They're good at what they do. I can tell that much from what little contact I've had with them." Sherlock said, rubbing his stomach without even noticing himself doing it.
John frowned. He had caught Sherlock doing that on occasion, mostly after a nightmare. The nightmare about John telling Sherlock he hated him had long since left from Sherlock's mind, at least as far as John knew, but a new one had shown up. Sherlock didn't talk about it, but John knew what it was about. Sherlock had slight PTSD, and John knew it. He was good at hiding it, but John was better at seeing it. He knew the genius better than anyone in the world, even Mycroft by now. He knew Sherlock so well, that the man couldn't hide very much from him anymore. He had gotten PTSD after the bomb scare with Moriarty, and he's got it now from being beaten nearly to death by the two BO members. John was sure everyone in the car could see it too, all being as smart, or smarter, than Sherlock. With a car full of detectives, a thief, a scientist, a government agent, and a mistress of disguise you couldn't hide much.
Conan noticed the slight movement of Sherlock rubbing his stomach. This was a movement Conan copied without noticing himself. PTSD was a dreadful thing. Conan noticed himself copying Sherlock's movements, and stopped himself, only to start rubbing the larger cut on his face.
Kid glanced at Conan when he noticed the movement. He frowned deeply, only to put his poker face back on a second later. He really hated seeing him like that. Kid hated seeing the man he loved looking like a kid, but it was even worse that he was a kid in pain and in way over his head. Sure, Kid was also in way over his head, just like everyone else in the car, but Conan was different. Conan was the love of Kid's life. Kid had realized he respected him when he had had his first encounter with the teen. He hadn't gotten to meet his face to face that time, but he knew there was something about him that he liked. He had been Shinichi at the time of course and in a helicopter. It was the first time Kid hadn't intended to steal something, only prevent the clock tower from being demolished. The same clock tower he and Aoko had met at. He had thought he was in love with her, but as time went on Kid realized that he was starting to fall for the very male detective trying to catch him and put him away, and not just respect him. He hadn't told Aoko this, how could he? She didn't know he was Kid. Kid had been shocked out of his mind when he first laid his sights on Conan. He knew right away that he was Shinichi. He had followed his for quiet a while, trying to figure out what was going on. After he found out what had happen, he knew he had to help him in any way he could and that, in at least one way, they where on the same side. The thief and the detective together fight a common enemy.
Conan stopped rubbing his face just as Sherlock stopped rubbing his stomach. "How much further to this safe house Mycroft?" He asked the elder Holmes brother.
"Not far." He said to Conan. "A mile up the road is a turn off to the right. You'll need to turn on it, and follow it for exactly two miles, and turn onto a deer trail almost completely hidden by trees. Go to the end of that and you'll see a shack. Park the car there, and then we'll walk a little ways to a small house in the trees." Mycroft said, looking from Conan to Yusaku.
"Got it." Yusaku said.
Once they arrived at the house, everyone relaxed a little. "So, how do you think they got past the airport security?" John said.
"They're good at what they do." Haibara answered.
"Do you think we might need more help with this." Kid asked.
"Who do you propose we add to the BO's hit list?" Haibara snapped.
"Someone who may already be involved simply because he knows me." Kid said. "Someone these two know quiet well." Kid looked at Conan and Heiji.
"What? Who?" Conan asked.
"He's in England right now. He's also another teenage detective. You know who I'm talking about Meitantei." Kid smiled at the young looking detective.
Conan thought for a second. In England. Which teenage detective was in England right now? He asked himself, then something popped into his head. He noticed that it also popped into Heiji's at the same time.
"No way you bastard. I'm not working with him. I refuse." Heiji yelled out.
"No need to yell Hattori. I know you don't like him, but we have to do what we have to do. He could help us a lot. He may not know as much as us, but he could be a valuable ally." Conan said. "He's not my favorite person either, but when push comes to shove, we need to do this."
"What are you three talking about?" Mycroft asked, having had Sherlock translate what Heiji said for him.
"There's another teenage detective that spends a lot of time here in England solving cases. He claims to be better than these two, but I think not. He's full of himself and is a huge fan of your Sherlock Holmes." Kid said. "We're enemies and he's always trying to catch me."
"You think he can help?" John asked.
"I do." Kid answered.
"Do you have his number? I'll call him and have him meet us close by." Conan said. Kid gave Conan the number and he called.
"Hello." The answer was in English.
"Hello Hakuba-San. My name is Edogawa Conan. You might remember from the Twilight Palace case a few months ago." Conan said.
"Oh, Conan-Kun. I remember you. You're that kid that was with Detective Mouri at the mansion, right? Or Kid disguised as Mouri." Hakuba said.
"Yes that was me. I need your help with something." Conan said.
"Well, I'm not in Japan right now. I can get there in a few hours, but that only depends on what you need help with." Hakuba said. Conan could hear the prepiness in his voice, even over the phone.
"There are two things. One: I'm not in Japan, I'm in England, and Two: KaitouKid." There was a pause on the other end of the phone.
"Where are you?" Hakuba asked.
Conan smirked and everyone in the room thought he looked too much like Kid for his own good. Conan gave the address of the closest house to the safe house. "I'll see you soon." Conan hung up the phone. "Mycroft, you and Sister Amaya will be going with me." Conan said.
No one argued with the teen turned child. Mycroft, Kid, and Conan, still dressed as a girl, piled into the car and drove off. They got to the house before Hukuba, who arrived twenty minutes later in a small black car, drove by a man in a suit and sunglasses. Hakuba got out of the car and said something to the driver, who drove off in the direction they had come from. Hakuba looked around, a frown on his face. Conan got out of the car, and walked over to the teenage detective.
"Excuse me." He said, his voice sounding slightly like a girl's, just in case the BO was around.
"Yes young lady?" Hakuba asked, putting as much charm in those three words than he really had to. "Are you lost young lady?"
"No Hakuba-San, I am not." Conan said, pushing the long black hair off his face. "I belive you're here to help me? Conan Edogawa sent me to get you. He regrets not being able to himself, but things have gotten a little wild."
"Conan-Kun sent you?" Hakuba looked suspicious.
"Yes. My name is Akiko. The two people with me are Sister Amaya and Croft." Conan shortened the man's name just to be on the safe side. "Conan and the people he's with are in hiding. We'll take you to them." Conan started back toward the car. He knew Hakuba would follow him. Out of curiosity and knowing he could find out something else about Kid. Hakuba followed and climbed into the back seat of the car beside Conan. "Sister Amaya, Croft, I would like you to meet Saguru Hakuba, teenage detective famous in both Japan and England." Conan said.
"It's nice to meet you Hakuba." Kid said in his sweet, girly, nun voice.
"Likewise Sister." Hakuba said.
"Good evening Hakuba." Mycroft said. He understood why Conan had shortened his name, and said nothing about it.
"Good evening Croft." Hakuba said to the elder man. "Where are we going?" Hakuba asked him.
"It would be best to talk to Akiko. She knows more about all this than anyone." Mycroft said.
Hakuba looked at Conan. "You?" He asked.
"Things are a bit on the strange side Hakuba." Conan said.
"When Kid is involved, things tend to go that way." Hakuba said.
"Indeed. We don't have much further to go. Just a few miles up the road." Conan smiled at the teenager, and Hakuba thought she looked a lot like Kid. If she hadn't been a child, he would have thought it was him. They drove up the driveway and stopped. "Come this way. we have to walk a little ways." Conan said.
Hakuba followed the three people up tp a rather large house at the bottom of a hill. It was hidden among the trees and probably couldn't be seen from the sky. The house was two stories, and white with blue trim. The front door was doubled and the knobs were silver. The knocker was also silver and in the shape of magnifying glasses. Hakuba liked this. He thought it was cool.
He followed the people into the house and almost dropped to the floor. Stnading in front of his was none other than Sherlock Holmes in the flesh. He would know the man anywhere. It was then that Akiko pulled her wig off, reviling Conan underneath. Everyone else had already removed their disguises. Everyone except Kid.
"Sorry about all secrecy. This isn't all about Kid. We need your help." Conan said.
"Yes Hakuba. We would like for you to help us with a little problem we all share." Sherlock said. "It's a pleasure to meet you by the way." Sherlock stook his hand out, knowing both John and Mrs. Hudson would fuss at him for being rude. "I heard you were a fan."
"Yes sir Mr. Holmes." Hakuba said.
"Please, call me Sherlock." Sherlock said.
"Well Hakuba, you know me and Hattori. This is Agase-Hakase, Yukiko Kudo, Yusaku Kudo, John Watson, Ai Haibara, and Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's older brother." Conan said.
"What about her?" Hakuba looked at Kid.
"You know her too." Conan said. "But before that, you have to listen to everything we say first. We need you to listen." Conan said.
"Okay. I'll listen." Hakuba said.
"Okay. Amaya, please take off your disguise." Conan said.
"Oh, and I was really starting to enjoy this get-up." Kid said in his voice. A puff of smoke was chased away by an opened window. Hakuba's jaw dropped. "Hello Hakuba. Thank you for coming to help us." Kid said, smiling his unearthly smile.
"Kid?" Hakuba was shocked. He was quick to hide it though. He was about to attack the thief when Conan, still in his dress, interrupted.
"You promised to listen to me first." He said.
Hakuba paused and turned to look at Conan. He had promised the kid. "Fine." He said. "What can I do for all of you?" He asked.
"We are about to tell you something that could get you killed if word gets out. Are you willing to risk that?" Conan asked.
"Get me killed? What are you talking about?" Hakuba asked. His self-confidence was slipping ever so slightly, not that he would show it to either of them.
"Everyone in his room is, in some way or the other, involved with a group of criminals who are, at the present moment, trying to kill both me and Sherlock. We would like your help getting them to back off enough for us to get back to our normal lives." Conan said. He took a deep breath. "I'm even willing to tell you everything that is going on." He looked at Haibara, who nodded, knowing they could use the help, even if it meant getting someone else involved. "And I do mean everything."
"What do you mean by that?" Hakuba asked.
"I'm Shinichi Kudo." Conan said.
Oh my God. I'm so sorry it took so long to update. Work has been hectic. I hope you like it though.
