Cooro and the rest of the Fairy Tail members couldn't find hair or nose of the witch. They looked all over the island but couldn't find the witch. She was well hidden. They were setting up camp for the night. The trees around them were blackened. Cooro wasn't averse to being in the woods. But Cooro couldn't start a fire. That's why Lola was starting the fire for him.

It was just Cooro and Lola. Her lips were so close to his face. Cooro shuddered; Lola's lips touched his ears. " Lola."

" What?" He was shaking. Lola just realized who she was talking to. " Oh. Sorry. I thought you were April. What do you need?"

Lola went back to her fire. She poked the burned logs with a stick. Cooro still had some questions for her. " I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of magic you use. I know April has the power to bend metal and Kokat can create illusions to make herself look like someone else. Your the only one whom I don't know; your rivalry with April might suggest you can bend plastic."

" We're not rivals. She just annoys me." Lola thought Cooro was someone she could trust to show her magic. Lola was wilful and proud. Lola picked dirt off the ground. She clenched the dirt. She opened her hand, the piece of dirt transformed into a diamond made of dirt. " This is my power. The power over the earth."

Lola squeezed the prism. With her powers it transformed into a star. She squeezed again and it transformed into a leaf, fan, and finally two doves kissing. Lola was incredible. She was smart and sophisticated. he wasn't like April or Kokat, by the way were asleep.

" How can they be asleep?" Cooro said. He crawled up to April and Kokat while Lola continued working on the fire. She threw three pieces of wood off. Cooro put his hands on April nose, squeezed her nose to see if no air wold wake her up, the only thing he saw her do was breath from her mouth.

" It is night time," Lola finally perfected her fire. Cooro was cold from the cold night breeze, crawled up to campfire beside Lola. " I guess it's just you and me. Want to talk?"

Cooro could smell Lola's scent. It was even stronger than a few moments ago, and the wonderful sight of the campfire aroused him. " Sure."

" Why don't you ever take off your scarf?" Lola tried grabbing Cooro's scarf. Cooro touched her hand.

" Next question." Cooro pushed her hand away. Lola reached for Cooro's scarf again, but Cooro grabbed her hand again.

" You can tell me." Cooro pushed her hand away again. Lola reached for his scarf again, but this time she touched it with her other hand. " I don't judge you."

There was no stopping Lola from being a pest. She was the type of pest who ate beds swathed in silken sweats rather than store bought sweaters. She reminded Cooro of his sister Canary. Her face didn't waver, her eyes never faltered, Cooro looked at her wide dark eyes. It was time for him to open up.

" Okay. This scarf was given to me by someone very special. We all have some strange beliefs of what we believe is good luck and this scarf is my good luck. Do you have anything good luck to you?"

Lola smiled before touching her strange ears. " Just my ears. Without ears I wouldn't be able to hear, and the best things I hear are your sweet words."

Cooro never heard those words before. Most people think what he says is boring, gangling, prejudgment, and detriment prejudice. Not Lola." You think my words are sweet?"Cooro felt soft. Suddenly he felt the same way years ago on that mountain with Aōyami. Most of all he was confused. Confused about whether he look at a girl and wonder if she liked him. He didn't have that much charisma. " I think we are running out of firewood. I will get some more."

Cooro left Lola. He was a coward. Getting more firewood was just an excuse. He was just going to find five or ten sticks to come up with an excuse to why he was gone so long. There was a lump in his windpipe. Every pretty girl he came into contact with reminded him of Aōyami. He may of been young, but he was in love with her. The tragedy of watching her love her own soul came back to him; how many other girls would suffer because of him?

" Cooro." Speaking of girls, Gia followed Cooro, calling out to him. She wanted to help Cooro.

" Gia. I'm sorry I had to leave you so abruptly and I'm sorry I haven't talked to you since we got here" Gia made a strange purring sound then flew to Cooro's chest. She rubbed her head against Cooro's stomach, which was rumbling from barely eating, and flew over him.

" It's okay. We can talk to each other now. How do you like being in a S-class mission?"

What did Cooro think of the mission? The last fifteen minutes were one of the greatest in his life. He couldn't tell Gia how happy he was, so he lied. " It's boring. Beside what happened when we got here it's been a boring mission. I think it's boring because I have to a follow three clueless girls around."

Cooro walked farther away from the campsite. Gia sensed some tension between him and her. She flew in front of Cooro and thrust her paw. " Your not going to look for her yourself, are you Cooro? That's dangerous. Your smarter than this."

" I'm not going to get into any fights. I'm just going to find where she's hiding and tell them. I knew you would come with me; and you can fly me back to camp when I find her. You and I are a team, Gia."

Cooro rubbed Gia's head. Cooro's hand was warm. He left Gia alone thinking about what he just said. " We are a team?"

Gia followed Cooro. She flew over him and followed him through the forest. In a way Cooro was like her old owner. He was very kind and nurturing, even if he tried to act like he wasn't. Gia believed if she spent enough time around Cooro he would warm up to her. Cooro glanced at the right, stopped Gia putting a hand on her head.

" What was that?" Gia tried to say something, but Cooro shushed her pressing a finger against her mouth. He was being precautious." I think I hear a girl singing."

Gia's wings disappeared as she jumped on Cooro's shoulders. Gia felt safer the closer she was to Cooro. Cooro glanced to the right and saw someone there. It was a girl. She wasn't alone. There were bears, birds, rabbits, two bears, and five deer.

" A girl? What's she doing here; outside of the village?" Cooro thought.

The animals around the girl seemed to life her. They weren't afraid of her. They seemed to like her. She also liked them. That little girl started to sing. She had a beautiful voice. So beautiful it had the voice of an angel. Cooro knew it sounded corny, but her voice was out of this world.

Sing little birdy and be free

Sing to all your friends indeed

Cute and fair, like you winter rabbit

Mr. Owl, good to see you up for the night

Forthwith are the deer,

Coming to be with me

Perfect and Beautiful

The night is a precedence

I'm young and pliable

But with you forest creatures around me I am strong

Cooro couldn't keep his gaze away from her. She pranced around the animals while rubbing their heads. The animals rubbed their heads against her. How did she get along so well with all those animals? It was like she lived with them, Cooro didn't know how that was possible.

" She has such a beautiful voice Cooro." Gia said crawling around Cooro's shoulder. She was right.

" Beautiful...not if she's a witch." Cooro said.

" I don't understand why you keep saying the word 'witch'. Would that make every girl who uses magic a witch?"

" Not all girl who use magic are called 'witches', Gia." Cooro thought about all the girls in Fairy Tail. Would he say they are witches? " but your right. There's nothing different from a mage in Fairy Tail than a witch outside Fairy Tail. They call her a witch because they believe she has power that can hurt everyone."

" You talk a lot, Cooro."

Cooro knew how much he talked. But that was because he had the words to back them up. He walked out of the blackened woods to touch the embroidered cloth girl. The animals froze upon seeing him, the girl just kept singing loudly.

" Hello. My name is Cooro." The girl stopped moving. A blue furred deer with the antlers of a reindeer walked up to Cooro. " Is this a Sooty Trilope?" Cooro tried petting the Sooty Trilope, but it backed away from him. " They are a beautiful creature." Cooro grabbed the Sooty Trilope. It responded well to Cooro rubbing its nose. It didn't quiver in the eyes of Cooro anymore. " Its a wild animal, but it responds well with humans. You must play with it a lot..."

" Zira."

Finding out her name was Zira made Cooro let go of the Sooty Trilope. She was in greater pain than him. Cooro walked towards Zira. She didn't look up. Cooro walked up to Zira and touched her cheek.

" Everything is going to be okay. I will never hurt you."

Cooro was kind. The only thing anyone could say about him was he considered himself to be a lone wolf, but had more than one heart in his body. There were some however who didn't see these ideals. And they were watching Cooro in the darkness. A brotherhood of beings not only keen on stopping Cooro from befriending Zira, but breaking his neck.

" This idiot is ruining my plan. He has to be stopped, slit and destroyed."
