A/N: Thank you so much for reviewing so quickly guys! Here's the next chapter as your reward :)

Disclaimer: I don't own Wolfblood

The next day Tom walked into school by himself while Maddy and Shannon hung around outside. Bryony and Rhydian were standing by the lockers. Tom took a deep breath and walked up to them.

"Hey." He began.

"Hey." Rhydian replied warmly. Bryony just stared at him. Tom stared back trying his best to look like he was captivated by her even though he genuinely wasn't anymore. Evidently it worked because Bryony smiled at him.

"Hi Tom." She said in her distinctive welsh accent. "I was just telling Rhydian about my foster parents."

"You're in foster care?" Tom asked.

"Yep." Bryony replied.

"Just like me!" Rhydian added. Bryony nodded.

"It's just another bond we share." She said as she stroked his hair fondly. Tom tried very hard to keep his disgust off his face.

"So tell me more about yourself Bryony." Tom said, sounding as enthusiastic as he could without raising suspicion.

"Well..." Bryony began. I only travelled here recently. I come from Wales you see."

"Where they don't have ice cream." Rhydian butted in.

"Are you being serious?" Tom asked him, wondering if he was being sarcastic.

"Nope." Bryony put in on his behalf. "I had never heard of ice cream before I came here, it just doesn't grow in Wales." Tom stared at them both incredulously, before realising his mission and doing his best to act normal.

"Wow, Wales sounds…" he searched for the right word. "Sounds…" Luckily for Tom, the bell went and saved him from having to think of a word as they all trooped into form.

In Drama before break, the class split up to do group work. Maddy, Tom and Shannon sat in the far corner away from everyone else pretending to make up a sketch while Tom filled the girls in on what he had learnt.

"What?" Shannon scoffed. "That can't be right."

"Maybe the children's homes she stayed in were quite harsh?" Tom suggested.

"No" Shannon said. "She would still have heard about it even if she never had it, and besides she should know that it doesn't grow, she's not stupid."

"Great." Maddy said gloomily. "She's in foster care. Another thing that links her to him."

"It does seem rather convenient." Shannon mused.

"Right everyone!" Miss Fitzgerald called. "We're now going to perform our little sketches which we have just made up. Maddy's group, you go first."

For Maddy, knowing the truth about Rhydian's liking for Bryony didn't make it any less painful when she saw them together. She still felt like she was being torn apart but it made it easier to bear. She couldn't afford to transform at school again. Last time was too close.

They made up their plan over lunchtime. After school, they would use the crowds as cover to try and split up Rhydian and Bryony. Maddy would pull Rhydian away and tell him what Bryony was up to while Shannon distracted Bryony. Tom would then try and cut off her necklace using a pair of tiny safety scissors which Shannon had found in art.

The time came for them to put their plan in to action. Maddy still wasn't sure if it was going to work, Shannon's plans rarely did but she was willing to give anything a go to get Rhydian back. She chased after him through the throng of students making their way home. She caught sight of his light blonde hair easily. She saw Shannon on the other side of Bryony who was, as always, next to Rhydian. Maddy nodded to Shannon. They both moved in at the same time. Maddy grabbed Rhydian's arm and pulled him away, trying to put as many students between them and Bryony as she could. It worked. Bryony didn't follow them because her arm had been grabbed by Shannon.

"Bryony!" Shannon cried with a false air of cheeriness. "There you are! I was wondering if you wanted to join the photography club?" She saw Tom creep up slowly behind Bryony and reach for her neck.

"What's photography?" Asked Bryony blankly as without turning round she suddenly flung her fist behind her and it collided with Tom's face.

"Ow!" Tom shouted, dropping the scissors as he clutched his nose.

"You forget" Bryony said with a nasty smile "what good senses Wolfbloods have." She grabbed Tom and pushed him into Shannon. "See, you even forget to pretend not to know what I'm talking about. Calwearas aren't supposed to know about Wolfbloods." She shoved them again. "Your stupid plan was never going to work. You're not as clever as you thought, Shannon Kelly." With a final smirk, she left, pushing through the late stragglers to find Rhydian.

Once they were safely out of the other side of the crowd, Maddy smiled at Rhydian, glad to have him on his own at last.

"Get off me!" Rhydian cried throwing her hand off.

"Sorry about that." She apologised, feeling a bit hurt. "But there's something you need to know." Rhydian was shaking his head as though he was trying to clear it. He held up a hand to stop her talking. He was frowning.

"Sorry, do I know you?" He asked. Maddy just stared at him, unable to believe that this was happening. Then a hand closed around his arm and pulled him away. Maddy didn't react; she just stared into the distance. She thought she heard someone calling her name. Her legs felt wobbly, like jelly and then they gave way from under her. Her world tipped upside down and suddenly she was looking at the sky before all the lights went out.

A/N: Review as always my lovelies. The next chapter will be a long one, I've written 2000 words and I'm still not done. I have a lot of coursework, but I'll try to get it done as quickly as I can for you. Reviews always help ;)
