Well here's another chapter uh wanna say never expected to get to 13K words and I guess thanks for reading
(Daz pov)
The early morning sunrise of lake valor was nothing to laugh at. Giving the surrounding lake a wonderful view, the sun made the lake look like a glittering jewel and the grass had a slight shine to it from the morning dew.
"What a nice day today, right Emilia?"
"Yeah it's a nice day but we have to do packup camp before we leave." replied Emilia
"That shouldn't be to hard but let's eat something before we do, come on out team!"
Suzuki shouted as he tossed all of his pokeballs in the air and the balls burst open revealing his team.
"Oh, I should do that too! Come on out team, I bet your all hungry!"
With a little less fanfare than Suzuki, Emilia brought out her team.
Breakfast was a surprisingly lively event with Suzuki cooking a large amount of food for Emilia and himself. He also dished out the pokemon food which me and Crystal still refused to eat on the grounds of that it looked terrible. So instead we were given something else.
The packing of the camp was made easier with extra hands such as Erde and his grass vines making quick work of the tent and the few other bits that were lying around the camp. After the camp was packed away, Emilia's and Suzuki's teams were back in their pokeballs. "Alright so looking at the map we have to go through a resort then it's the last stretch between here and Pastoria city." Suzuki said.
"Sounds good Susie, but when we get to the city we are going in the marsh and we're both going to catch a pokemon, and the loser has to give the winner a back rub!" Emilia declared.
"Daz, Emmy is pretty smart when it comes to some things but she's a totally oblivious when it comes to people's hearts," commented Crystal.
I couldn't help but be inclined to agree with Crystal in this instance. Our group made our way to the sea side resort town most commonly referred to as Valor lakefront due to its close proximity to the lake. The scenery here was pretty green and lush with lots of forest either side of us and worn dirt path to follow things couldn't be easier.
"So what do we know about the Gym leader at Pastoria? Asked Suzuki
"Well uh... he uses water type pokemon so I think Grzmot will be able to sweep his team, but I have a feeling he's going to do something annoying." replied Emilia
"I think your gonna win with no problem at all Emmy!" Exclaimed Suzuki
"Awww thanks Susie, your always there for me just like before…" Trailed off Emilia.
"Hey none of that Emmy, you have a Gym battle, and a sad look on your face doesn't suit you.. and also I care for you." Suzuki added on quietly.
"Huh, what?" said Emilia confused
"Ah! N-n-nothing!" Suzuki stuttered out flushed and embarrassed. Me and Crystal Groaned out in annoyance.
"What are you two complaining about?" asked Emilia
"You, you're... nevermind." I sighed.
"What?"
"Don't worry about it Emmy."
"Huh, but i'm what?"
"Just forget it Emmy"
"Okayyy?"
The forest had started to thin out as we got closer to the lakefront where there was a large beach, a hotel and a restaurant that you could battle in. The buildings were whitewashed and rather simple in design with tiled roofs. (AN: think Spanish houses)
"Hey Susie what you want to do now that we are here?" asked Emilia
"W-w-well um… I don't really mind."
"Oh in that case feel like getting some practice in doubles battles at the restaurant?"
"S-s-sure, kinda like a date" Suzuki mumbles.
"What?"
"E-eh I mean s-sure I would lo-like that." Suzuki stutters.
"ALRIGHT! Let's go then Susie." Emilia ran off.
"EH! W-wait Emmy come back we don't even know where to go!" Suzuki shouted.
As we all ran after her. We eventually found her after Suzuki asking around some people, she was standing outside a large building, she turned and looked at us.
"Took you guys long enough I would of beaten the elite four by now."
"Well maybe you shouldn't run off next time Crystal and Suzuki were worried for you."
"Awwww they were what about you Daz?"
"I wasn't that worried since I knew you can handle yourself"
Emilia pouts in response to that.
"Well now since we are all here let's go on in."
Emilia pushed open the doors and inside was a quaint restaurant that look small on the outside but in reality was big on the inside and had a few patrons. Then a waitress walked up to us with a bright smile on her face.
"Hello are you here to eat, battle or a bit of both?" she greets warmly
"U-u-um were here to battle."
The waitress smiled and said, "sure, just go up to a table and ask if they would like a battle." she informed helpfully.
With that information in mind Emilia and Suzuki started scanning the inside of the restaurant.
(Third Person)
The group walked over to a boy wearing a white tuxedo and has gelled black hair, there was also a girl wearing a white dress with flowing silky black hair. They noticed Emilia and Suzuki walking towards them.
"So you want to battle?" Asked the boy in the tux
"Sure you up for a doubles battle?"
"Sure!" agreed the girl
"Lets go Luxio!"
"Come on out Gengar!"
"Do your best Barney!"
"C-c-come on and t-try y-your best Loki!"
The boy went on the offensive first, "Luxio use crunch on that dragonair!"
"Barney dodge and use dragon rush."
The Luxio's attack was fast, catching Barney off guard and as if to add to his misery: "Gengar use shadow ball!" But Suzuki had other plans "Loki use your dark pulse to intercept that Gengars attack!"
Barney's tail was almost chomped by the Luxio but it missed by a scale, the Gengars shadow ball was destroyed by Loki's dark pulse. Barney's dragon rush formed around him, in the shape of a spectral skeletal dragon, he lunged towards the Luxio and proceeded to crash into its small frame launching the pokemon across the room.
"Gengar use Shadow claw on the Dragonair!"
With Barney overextended from using dragon rush and Suzuki unable to react in time Barney took the full brunt of the Gengars attack dealing an abnormal amount of damage to him.
"Barney!" Emilia shouted in concern
"Loki use ice punch!"
"Gengar dodge it!"
Loki raced towards the large pokemon and landed a cold blow straight to its face turning the large smile on its face upside down. By this time the Luxio had recovered and was on the offensive again with a spark charging towards Loki.
"Barney use flamethrower on Luxio!"
With no time to reach a rolling wave of fire streamed out of barneys mouth catching the luxio in a blaze and dealing a lot of damage, when the flames receded the boy's pokemon was knocked out leaving only the girls gengar left.
"Quick Loki use will o' wisp," Suzuki ordered.
"Barney finish this with Aqua tail!" Emilia shouted.
"Gengar dodge them both!" the girl hastily ordered.
Under an attack from two sides the girl's Gengar panicked and couldn't respond to her order to dodge and ended up taking both of the direct hits leaving, it out of action.
(Daz pov)
After the battle was over Emilia and Suzuki shook hands with their opponent and gave them praise for the good fight, then we moved on to outside the restaurant.
"So where to now?" Asked Crystal.
Emilia seemed to think about her answer for a few minutes.
"Well we are going to Pastoria, so we continue going to that city silly." Emilia admonished.
"Well the day is short and we are wasting time by standing around." Emilia continued.
With that said we decided to make a move to Pastoria city. The path there lead to a beach with beautiful shores and a great view of the sea and the sand between my paws was a rather pleasant sensation, but seeing the ocean was something else. A clear view of its blue rolling waves giving us a lovely bit of scenery to look at as we made our way to the city.
"Man the beach sure is nice." Suzuki breathed out.
"Yeah it sure is." agreed Emilia
Emilia kicked off her shoes and pulled off her stockings and wiggled her feet in the sand then sighed in content.
"Man the sand between your feet feels great Susie you should try it."
"U-u-um i-if you think so." Suzuki stutterd nervously.
Then proceeded to take off his shoes,socks and wiggle his feet in the sand.
"Y-yeah you are right the sand dose feel good between my toes."
"Does it really feel that good for you to let the sand between your toes" I asked.
"Yeah it feels really liberating compared to shoes or sandals, it also feels really good."
"I would like to come back here Susie, maybe after we beat the gym, just me and you"
Suzuki's face turned red and he started stammering uncontrollably.
"I-i-i-f y-you w-want to d-do t-that I wouldn't m-mind."
After our little stop at the beach we marveled at its natural beauty. Emilia's obliviousness to Suzuki's attraction to her we collectively decided to get a move on again towards Pastoria city. As we were concluding our journey to Pastoria city the environment began to change. The shades of green got darker, the grass was more lush, and the clouds and sky were gray, but we had arrived at our destination.
(Emilia pov)
Pastoria city more like a small town the only reeeeally noteworthy thing was the Great marsh and the gym.
"S-s-so we should probably check into the pokemon center." Suggested Suzuki.
"Good idea Susie and we should see if barry is here before us again...I don't understand how he gets here first even though we leave before him."
As we walked to the pokemon center I saw Barry standing outside the gym I would talk to him later but checking in was at the top of my mind.
Walking into the pokecenter was nothing new walking to the nurse Joy manning the desk.
"Hello I would like to heal my pokemon and is there any twin rooms?"
The nurse checked a ledger and then said "I'm sorry we only have rooms for couples will this be a problem?"
"Mmmm no this won't we be a problem."
Suzuki's face was completely red is he feeling unwell?
"Susie are you okay?" I asked in concern
"Y-y-y-y-y-y-y-yeah I-i-i-i-i-i-im f-f-f-f-fine" Suzuki stutterd out frantically
"I don't think you are let's get you into that room quickly so you can lie down"
Daz and Crystal just groaned it's almost like i'm supposed to notice something?
The room we entered was not to much different other than the bed was bigger than my normal room that I usually get for myself then I motioned for Suzuki to lie on the bed he looked very nervous I suppose I should tell him to calm down .
"Don't worry Susie after you lie down and cool down in here I'm going to shoot off and talk to barry before I come back.
After leaving the pokemon center I made my way towards the gym, I saw Barry still standing outside.
"Oh Emilia so you've come here to challenge master Wake!" Barry shouted.
"Alright first of all lower the volume of your voice..."
"Sorry" Barry sheepishly apologized.
"Secondly where did this master Wake thing come from?" I asked pretty confused.
"Oh the master thing happened when Mr. Wake decided to take me on as an apprentice, but before you challenge him I need to test and see if your worthy. I've gotten a lot stronger and smarter since we last met."
"As much as I would love to battle, my pokemon are healing at the pokemon center so we can't."
Then a deep voice belonging to a man in wrestling attire said, "Boy I told you not to call me master."
"But master Wake, you promised me that you would take me on as an apprentice." Barry whined.
Wake just heaved a deep sigh.
"Kid listen...I knew your father…he was a good trainer and if you continue the way your going, you will be to in time. You don't need my help to do that."
"See barry you are pretty good."
"Yeah well… I still gonna beat you no matter what it takes because your my rival Emilia!" Barry declared as he ran off
The large muscled man sighed and shook his head.
"You here to challenge me?" Wake asked
"Yep i'm here to beat you but I have to do somethings before that."
"I guess i'll see you soon then" he grunted
After that meeting with Barry and Wake it was quite late with the sun slinking behind the tree line and night beginning to set in. With families and trainers turning in for the night I decided to do the same.
Walking into our room in the pokemon center there was Susie sleeping on the bed with Daz and Crystal curled up together at the foot of the bed...Susie looks really cute when he's sleeping like that so innocent welp I better get changed before I go to sleep. After a quick change I was ready for bed wear some pink pajamas I climbed into the bed after that I snuggled up to Susie...huh did he always smell its good? Was his back always this broad? My face heated up as I thought about these things but I shook my head to dissuade myself of these thoughts and went to sleep.
(The next day Emilia pov)
Waking up the next morning felt better than normal and is someone holding me? After opening my eyes Susie arms were wrapped around me why does this feel so good ah that's no good I need to get up but is so warm and conmfy.
After wrestling with myself to leave the bed and somehow wiggle out of Susie's arms without waking him up I had a quick shower got dressed and made a small breakfast for the both of us, I know my cooking is not good but it's better than nothing.
"Susie...Susie...SUSIE wake up!"
"EH! WHA?!" Suzuki shouted in surprise
"Breakfast time and you better be hungry because I cooked it."
"Sounds good I'm going to go get changed first"
Susie got up from the bed and went into the bathroom. Daz and Crystal had woken in the commotion so I went to go get them some food.
The event of breakfast was rather quiet with me and Susie discussing what we were going to do, we planned to go to the Great marsh to fill Susie's pokedex and for me to add another member to the team.
Standing outside the entrance to the great marsh I noticed that the day was nice and the weather clear but it was only me and Susie as Daz along with Crystal had opted to stay in as they didnt feel like leaving so we left them in the room hopefully it doesn't smell funny when me and Susie get back. We walked through the doors into the building before we enter the great marsh, on the right there was a staircase that led to an upper floor and on the left a counter with two ladies standing behind it.
"Hello would you two like to go into the pokemon safari?
"Yes we would like to."
"That will cost 2000¥ also do you know how the safari works? The lady asked
"Um first time could you explain it for me?
The lady nodded and gestured to her co-worker who stepped forward and began explaining it.
"Firstly you are not allowed to use any pokemon, secondly your are given 30 pokeballs and an hour time limit finally your are given bait and any pokemon you catch you keep."
Me and Susie nodded in understanding.
"Alright here are your thirty safari balls go have fun."
The marsh was a vast expanse with greens of the long grass and browns of the mud but the thing that stuck out the most was the tram sitting at the station, the tram was a bright orange colour with a dark grey roof.
"Ooooh wow I had heard of this, they use rams to get around the great marsh so they don't damage the ecosystem" Susie said in awe
"How that's a pretty easy way to get around somewhere so big."
"So what do you think you going to catch?
"Hmmm I don't really know maybe some rare pokemon that only appear around here" said Susie with his face scrunched up in thought.
We walked to the tram station and picked station four the station at the ver far side of the marsh there me and Susie split up, after walking around the marsh for some time I felt as if I was being watched. I turned on my follower and saw a Croagunk standing in behind me on a small island of grass.
"So why are you following me?" I asked
"Because you seemed interesting than everything else around here" the Croagunk states boredly
"Oh that nice I guess...wanna be my pokemon?"
The Croagunk seemed to ponder on its answer before it answered.
"If going with you is more fun than wandering around here doing nothing all day then sure I don't mind become another side character that may or may not appear in a chapter or battle."
I tossed the safari ball that him and watched as he disappeared into the ball and as it made no movement at all, then the ding sounded notifying me that I had caught this pokemon, I decided to go meet with Susie at the tram station.
When I got there he was drenched in head to toe in mud and water with the odd bit of grass in his hair.
"Good time?" I asked cheerily.
Susie just grumbled in response.
I pouted "did you at least capture some more pokemon for the dex?
"I got some pokemon but on that stands out is this really weird water type pokemon, well at least I think its a water type pokemon i'll have to call the professor later to get an Idea of what pokemon it is."
"Sounds good, let's back to the pokecenter and shower first, I think you could use one."
I opened the door, and to my surprise the room didn't smell funny nor were Crystal and Daz were up, they were just sleeping on the bed. Crystal popped up her head to greet us and Daz's ears just twitched at our entrance.
"Did you have a good time?" Crystal asked.
"It wasn't too bad a bit wet but we have a new teammate but I havent come up for a name for them yet, did you two do anything whilst we were gone?"
Crystals face turned pink "n-n-no we didn't do anything!" snapped Crystal.
"Sure I'm expecting an egg anytime now" I teased.
Crystals face went from pink to red.
I went into the bathroom and saw Susie sitting on a bath stool with his back to me and a towel around his waist. I lunge towards Susie because he looks so KAWAII, he yelped in surprise and looks at me, then looks away blushing bright red, how cute.
"W-w-what a-a-are you d-d-doing in here Emilia!"
"What does it look like silly I came in here to help you wash your back."
"W-w-well if that's the case c-c-could you cover up a bit more?"
I was only wearing a towel that just covers my modest bust but he's getting embarrassed by me, why am I getting flustered? I shake my head in doubt to clear these feelings.
"That doesn't matter, you will be looking forward won't you? Sooooo I'll scrub your back for you and then you'll scrub mine, sounds fair right?"
"B-b-b-but I d-d-don't want to," Susie says nervously.
"Aww don't be like that Susie!" I whined.
Susie made a move to stand up. I grab his towel to make him sit down again. He slipped and his towel went flying behind me. He turned in an attempt to grab it but ended slipping on top of me and I lost my towel in the impact but before Susie had crashed into me I had closed my eyes, when I opened them again I saw Susie's big dipper in all its glory. Before I could admire the big dipper for a bit longer he jumped up and screamed like a banshee, grabbed the nearest towel, and covered me first before covering himself.
"Thanks Susie for covering me, what a gentleman."
After I said my remarks, Susie ran straight out the door, but I couldn't help but wonder did he like what he saw?
The mood after I entered the room again was tense with Susie blushing up a storm when he looked at me, I didn't know how to dispel the tense mood so I decided to go with, "Your pretty big you know."
Susie turned beet red and started stuttering "Th-thanks I guess?"
We just sort of stared at each other in awkward silence.
"So do you want to finish your bath?"
"Ummm I never got to take mine, sure."
And he walked back into the bathroom
"So what did you try doing to Suzuki." Asked Daz.
"Nothing! I swear I just went into the bathroom to help him clean himself."
"You do remember what Susie is like right?" Deadpanned Crystal.
"Just so you remember he is shy, not very confident and a boy so what you were doing was probably a nerve wracking experience for him."
"Well I- you know uh...what's the word?"
"Show your affection to him?" piped in Daz.
"Yeah that!"
"Well maybe you should have done it in a different way as to not traumatize him." Crystal scolded.
Maybe she's right I do have to find a better way to express my affe- wait affection?! I thought to myself shocked, but that can't be right I don't like him that way… or do I?ahhhh I don't know. I'll worry about it later because tomorrow I have a gym battle and then I'm one step closer to beating the elite four.
After Susie had his bath I went and had mine and whilst I was there I was mulling over what Daz and Crystal had said about earlier. Was it true though? Did I like him in that way I mean he has always been there for me ever since the incident.
(Naruto flash back time)
My sister, her name was Eden, she had snow white hair styled into a bob with bangs one tied with a lily hair clip that I had gotten her as a present for her birthday. She had brilliant yellow eyes that always lit up whenever she was talking about something she liked. Whenever I saw her, she was always wearing really cute pink pajamas with Magikarp printed on it, which was really adorable. Whenever I visited her in the hospital, we always used to play a really fun game called Mario Kart™. Her favorite character was Waluigi, she enjoyed doing impressions of him when we were gaming. But she was never really healthy. She had...she had Addison's disease, which made her immune system weak and was always fatigued. However, no matter how sick she got she always managed to smile as if nothing was wrong. Then...then she died, she died after catching pneumonia, this coupled with the disease that weakened her immune system. This was to much for her body to handle and-... and she died a few days later.
Losing her had a devastating effect on me. I shut myself away in her room, I didn't eat much and I barely slept, I also kept looking at the hair clip I got her that she always wore. Even after all of that, Suzuki never gave up on me, he came to visit me, talk to me, he put up with my crying fits and even let me dress him up like I used to do with Eden. He was there for me always acting as my anchor in my time of grief and sadness.
(Flashback end)
Suddenly a sharp knocking on the bathroom door, then followed Susie's voice:
"Emmy are you okay in there, you have been in the bath for a long time now."
I looked at the clock a full hour had passed for me being in the bath… aw nuts, now my skin is gonna be all pruney.
"Yeah i'm fine Susie I was just getting out now, don't worry."
"...Alright then you better hurry up or dinner will get cold and it's your favorite, it's curry, don't let it get cold."
Getting out of the bath I think I know when I started liking Susie, more than a friend.
Dinner was awkward with the evenings events still recent in mind I found it hard to make eye contact with Susie or even start up a conversation, BUT damn is Susie a good cook. I'm sort of jealous of how good he is...Susie would make a good house husband...wait- where did that come from!? With dinner coming to a close and any rouge thoughts about Susie being deflected.
"Thanks for the meal Susie it was great as always."
"U-u-m no p-problem Emmy I glad you thought it was good." Susie humbly replied
Looking over at Daz and Crystal they had gone to sleep a while ago.
"I think we should follow Daz and Crystals example and hit the hay what do you think?"
Climbing into the bed with Susie I remember my sister and decide to mumble out "goodnight Eden."
(Susie pov)
I hear Emmy mumble under her breath "goodnight Eden," ah she must of been thinking about her sister again. I put my arms around her and pull her close and fell asleep… her hair smells like lilies.
