Sorry for the late update, this chapter took longer then expected. (This one's for you Cory!)
The next day after Finn finally convinced Rachel to move in with him, she was discharged from the hospital and he was taking her to their new home. The home that Finn and his mother chose was a nice size house that was big enough for the two kids that they were going to have and raise together. It had two floors, with a finished basement and a two car garage, plus a swimming pool for hot days. To say Rachel was surprised when she pulled up to the lot was an understatement. She gasped so loud, and squeezed Finn's hand. "Finn, it's beautiful!"
He smiled at her and kissed her head, "Your beautiful!" After he opened up the garage and pulled his car in he hopped out of the front seat and retrieved Rachel's wheelchair in the back. "I'm just going to bring this inside and i'll carry you in ok?"
She nodded, "Why are you carrying me in?"
"Isn't it tradition that you must carry the one you love over a threshold when you move into a new house?" He smiled at her and carried her over the threshold. He gently placed her down into her wheelchair and smiled, kissing her lips as he did so. "I love you Rach, but enough of this sap. Let me show you your new home." She smiled happily and nodded. He started the tour, "Ok so immediately after we leave the garage we pass the laundry room, then we have the kitchen and living room to your left." He turned her wheelchair to the left. "And to your right we have the dinning room." He made a quick turn right, making Rachel giggle. "And upstairs their are three bedrooms, including our master bedroom where we shall make love for years to come." He smiled and she laughed.
"Finn, can i actually have a glass of water, my throat is starting to hurt." She asked Finn nodded and ran to get her a water bottle. After taking a sip she smiled, "I have to admit Finn, this is kinda an awesome place to raise a family. Plus i thought about it and i'm going to try and be the best mom to Santana's baby. I mean my parents aren't really my biological parents but they still love me. I want to do that for this baby, for your baby!" She kissed him fully.
"Rach, i love you so much!" He said as he leaned down and kissed her.
Finn was cooking dinner for both him and Rachel, while she sat on the couch. He wanted her to rest but being Rachel Berry she had to be doing something at all times. "Finn are you sure you don't need any help?"
He looked up at her and nodded, "I'm sure for the tenth time babe, just let me cook for you. It's almost done anyway." He smiled as he continued to cut up vegetables for a salad.
"If you say so." She said as she turned on the television and started to watch the news. After a few minutes Finn went over to Rachel and sat down beside her. She turned to look at him, "Have you spoken to Santana since last night?"
"No, and its killing me. I left a few messages, texts and voicemail and nothing!" He said reaching out and grabbing her hand. "I just wanna make sure the baby's ok, you know?" He gave her and smile and squeezed her hand. "So your dad called while you were sleeping before, and he gave Santana's family lawyer the warrant or bill or whatever saying that i want the right to the baby." Rachel then turned to look at him. "He said the family took it well, but Santana didn't. I mean she knew this was coming so maybe that's why she's ignoring me."
Rachel nodded, "Maybe, i mean Finn this is alot for her. I still think that you should head over there and explain the situation."
"There's nothing to explain, she would be a horrible mother to my child, that's it!" He said taking the remote and shutting off the tv. He looked at her and said, "Come on dinner is ready!" He carried her to the kitchen table and sat her down next to himself. They continued on with dinner and talked about the house, and the future.
"So since Santana is four months ahead of me, we really have to start prepping the baby rooms. Since this house has three bedrooms and a master bedroom i figure we just give each baby their own room." Finn nodded.
After about a week after Rachel was settled and well enough to move around both Rachel and Finn went back to school. Holding hands in the hallway as they both walked to their locker which conveniently happened to be next to each other. Finn was opening his locker when it slammed in front of him. "Finnocence, i have a bone to pick with you!" Santana yelled. A few students stopped and turned to stare at Finn, Santana, and Rachel. "What's the deal with trying to take my baby from me?"
"San, you knew that was coming! I even told you i was going to hire a lawyer." He yelled.
"I didn't actually think you would go through with it though!" She yelled right back. Rachel walked in between them.
"Guys stop!" She then looked at Santana, "All the yelling isn't good for your baby!" She simply said. "Please lets all just calm down and talk about this." Finn and Santana both nodded and walked with Rachel to the empty auditorium. "Look i know your upset San, but do you honestly think you can care for a kid when all your doing is going out partying and not looking after yourself?" Rachel asked as soon as she sat down on the stage.
"I'm not saying you can't be in our child's life i'm just saying that i want custody of it so your free to do whatever you want without worrying about him or her." Finn explained. Santana nodded and let a few tears fall.
"I would be a crappy mother huh?" She asked.
"No, not at all! We just want whats best for the baby and right now i think you need more time for you then with you being a mom. So just let Finn and i raise it, we will let this child know that your its mom. I promise you Santana that you will be in this childs life." Rachel smiled and leaned down and hugged the Latina. Santana smiled and hugged her back wiping away a tear.
"Thank you Rachel, and i have to admit that if my child could be raised by anyone i'm glad its you." Santana smiled back. Finn smiled at his girl and grabbed her hand.
"Thank you San, so are we ok?" Finn asked.
"Yeah, and i'm going to tell the lawyer that we came up with an agreement, so we don't have to go through all the paperwork and money." She said as she got up and hugged him. For the first time in a long time everything was finally coming together for Finn and he wasn't going to have anything ruin this for him.
