Chapter 12

Ice shattered and scattered around, Tomoe and Tsurara's combination attack dealt a huge number of the ogres, Mizuki which had the smallest area of attack assisted and protected Kagome, Inuyasha refrained to use his techniques other than swinging his sword around so to not cause the underground chamber to crumble and bury them alive, Sesshomaru too refrained from using his techniques other than his claws.

The talisman started to move again and everyone followed. "I think your friends got captured by the ogre king." Inuyasha guessed.

"Ogre king!?" Tsurara asked.

"Yeah, the ogre king is very powerful and brutal. He's even taller than the trees, no wonder Sesshomaru couldn't find his whereabouts, this underground chamber is the perfect place for him." Kagome explained

"If he's that powerful then this would be an interesting match." Inuyasha planned to fight the ogre king.

After an hour of walking, another horde of ogres appeared. Tsurara attacked first. She blew out a blizzard and froze almost all the ogres blocking their path, Tomoe shot out his fox fire, Inuyasha charged in with randomly swinging his sword, which eventually whacked and sliced an ogre, and Sesshomaru swung his poison claws. The frozen ogres broke into pieces and slowly disappeared, Kagome finishes the unfrozen ogres by shooting out a sacred arrow and dissolving their existence.

"Really, how many ogres are there!?" Tomoe shouted, he's irritated by the ogre's number.

"If I could just use Meido Zangestsuha..." Inuyasha mumbled. "Inuyasha." Kagome warned him.

"...Bakusaiga..." Sesshomaru also mumbled. "Not you too, Sesshomaru." Kagome also warned him.

They continued to follow the talisman.

After another 2 hours of sacrifice...

"It's nearby!" Yura exclaimed.

"What is?" Nanami asked.

"The talisman!" Yura answered. "And not just nearby, it's just ahead of us! Nanami-san! Your blessing worked!" Yura cried happily.

Rikuo extended the range of the wisps for how many meters. He hoped that it could reach the others and know that they're here.

A few more walks and the tunnel ended, it connected to a huge wide chamber, just like at the ogre King's chamber.

Stalagmites below and stalactites above, the tunnel connected to a walkable path at the side of the chamber, below is a not so deep cliff, one false move and someone might get impaled by the stalagmites.

Luckily the path was wide enough to have five person in a row to walk through. But... a horde of ogre minions ambushed them... again, and there numbers multiplied.

Rikuo, Nanami and Yura sticked close to each other. Rikuo summoned his saké cup again and used 'Meikyou Shisui Sakura'. Yura noticed Rikuo's movements were slower than before, she knew that using Meikyou Shisui Sakura consecutively is taking a toll on his body, not just that but he transformed into a yokai during the day in darkness and not at night where the moon gives energy to yokai.

Only half of the ogres were burnt before Rikuo's technique depleted.

"Step aside Nura-kun! It's my turn now!" Yura grinned. "Ren Tei!" she summoned her fish shikigami. Nanami glued back the talisman from earlier.

"Nanami-san, be sure to protect Nura" Yura reminded.

"Protect me from what!?" Rikuo didn't want to feel protected when he still able to fight. Nanami grabbed him and stepped aside to keep Yura away from Rikuo.

"Yura-max!" She yelled multiple times. The water surge hit multiple targets and all that got drenched evaporated. Rikuo shuddered in fear, if he were smudged by that water even a little bit, it would definitely hurt like hell.

Then without Rikuo and Nanami knowing, a group of ogre minions were hiding at the cliff and an ogre pulled Nanami's leg over. Nanami outbalances and Rikuo caught her but then another ogre pulled Rikuo's foot. So he slipped along with Nanami and fell over the cliff.

"Nura-kun! Nanami-san!" Yura called to her friends. She finishes all the ogre minions around her and ran towards the edge of the path. She saw Rikuo unconscious and Nanami trying to wake him up. She also saw the ogres surrounding them. Yura refrained herself to attack, since the water will surely splash at Rikuo if she were to attack from above.

"Nanami-san!" Yura called "Use your divine powers!"

Nanami grabbed hold of her talismans she already made. With the power to create a strong gust of wind, she casted the talisman and blew the ogre minions around them away. But it wasn't enough to revert the minions back to dust.

"Let me." Rikuo, rose up, waking up from being unconscious. As soon as Rikuo got a hold of his sword, he cloaked his self in fear and disappeared. The same thing happened at the ogres, they rapidly disappeared. But this time much faster than before. And within just a few seconds no ogres were left.

"Are you alright Rikuo-chan!? You fell on your head." Nanami worriedly asked him. She twisted Rikuo facing backwards at her and tried to examine his head.

"OUCH!" Rikuo shouted.

Nanami sighed in relief. "There's no blood but there's definitely a bump."

"Anyway, we need to climb up." Rikuo spoke, looking up the cliff they fell off. "I think I could leap up there, this cliff isn't that high." Rikuo observed. He found a huge rock he could use as a stair.

Rikuo carried Nanami like he was holding a bag. "Hold on tight." He warned. Rikuo jumped up the rock and, with all his yokai muscles, leaped up above the cliff. They landed safely just beside Yura.

And when they thought things were okay, another yokai appeared above them, this time it's not an ogre but a yokai with a familiar scent.

Rikuo taunted it "I can't believe you came all the way here? Did you want to talk to Nanami?" Rikuo asked the yokai in white, he couldn't see well because of the darkness but he was sure it was the same yokai. "Huh, old lady!?"

Rikuo jumped and attacked the yokai. The yokai didn't got surprised. It was able to dodge his attack. But Rikuo truly did guessed right. The yokai is definitely powerful, it was able to dodge Rikuo's blow.

"Is he still planning to knock out that woman?" Nanami asked.

"Yeah... But that's not a woman, nor the yokai we met last night. Nura-kun! You got the wrong person!" Yura announced. But she saw Rikuo enjoying himself fighting the yokai.

After a few more attacks, Rikuo landed and wanted to finish the fight using his primary ability. He tried to cloak his self in fear.

Will-o-wisps appeared on their path.

"It's beautiful!" Kagome complimented the lights.

"Hey Tomoe, are those you're will-o-wisps too?" Mizuki asked.

"Of course not! It came from the opposite direction." Tomoe answered.

"That is the supreme commander's ability!" Tsurara shouted. "They must be near!"

Tsurara ran as fast as she could, freezing everything that blocks her path including the ogres. Tomoe followed, using his fox fire, he crushed the frozen ogres and melted the icy path the snow-girl left behind.

Everyone followed them.

But suddenly, the wisps disappeared.

"Tsurara! What happened!?" Kagome asked, she was being carried behind Inuyasha since they started to run instead of walk.

"I'm not sure, Rikuo-sama must've fell unconscious or he returned to his human form." Tsurara even while speaking, her pace didn't change, and the sudden disappearance of the wisps worried her.

Than after a few seconds, the wisps returned.

"He must've lost consciousness then." Tsurara clarified.

Then Sesshomaru flew faster than them, he even passed the talisman. "I'm going ahead." He left.

After a few more running, Tsurara caught his master fighting Sesshomaru, nonetheless, in his offensive form too. Everyone stopped and avoided getting caught in the fight.

"So that's the Nura kid?" Tomoe asked. Tsurara just nodded.

Tsurara noticed Rikuo land not far from her. Rikuo cloaked himself in fear, ready to hide his presence, then she saw Rikuo faltered for a short time. This made Tsurara even more worried. Then Sesshomaru attacked, using his poison claw, he whipped it towards Rikuo. Tsurara knew Rikuo could evade that, but Rikuo stopped moving.

"Young Master!" she called. She knew Rikuo heard her but he didn't respond nor had any intention to dodge Sesshomaru's attack.

Without hesitation, Tsurara slammed her hand on the ground and created huge thick ice bergs that grew massively high to block Sesshomaru's attack. It successfully stopped the attack but what Tsurara failed to notice is that her ice went through the chamber's ceiling, and it poked a huge hole. If the Ice were to disappear, the ceiling will crumble.

Sesshomaru pulled his claw out and left a huge crack on the ice. The ice crumbled, Rikuo on the other hand was about to fall down. She noticed the wisps disappeared too. Her master fell unconscious.

The ice cracked, and it would surely fell on Rikuo, not just the ice, but also the ceiling.

As Tsurara was about to run towards his master to protect him, a blinding flash of light and a huge loud thunder sound shot just above Rikuo. It eradicated all the ice and the rock ceilings that was about to fall on him.

"Such a massive release of energy." Mizuki commented from behind, he also, accidentally, heard Kagome whispered something like 'Meido Zangetsuha or so...' to Inuyasha, Inuyasha nodded as a sign of agreement.

After the disruptive surge of energy, it created a huge hole above the ceiling which connected to the surface. Beams of light from the sun above lit the place up.

"M-master Rikuo!" Tsurara cried loudly, she ran towards Rikuo and found him lying on the ground, he reverted back to his human form, and next to him was Sesshomaru holding his sword. He swung his sword and sheathed it back.

Then they heard screams.

Something under Mizuki's clothes squirmed around and a little monkey popped out.

"NANAMI!" It shouted. It was The Land God's shikigami, Mamoru.

"You were with me the whole time!?" Mizuki interrogated the little monkey.

The ground trembled as the after effect of Sesshomaru's attack. The unaffected ceiling not far from them had there stalagmites fall down like meteors on the ground.

They saw the Land God and the omniyoji, covering their heads with their arms, and ran as fast as they could towards them. The crumbled stalagmites were about to hit them until Inuyasha charged in with his attack above the girls.

"Meido Zangetsuha!" He shouted. Black Orb-like energy scattered as he swung his sword. The orbs, above the girls, absorbed the stalagmites and, fortunately, no stalagmites hit them.

As they reached the other group, Nanami was welcomed by a surprise hug from Tomoe, Mizuki and Mamoru.

"Tomoe, Mizuki and even Mamoru! I'm so happy to see you guys" Nanami cried. Tomoe finally realizes their manners towards their Land God, and he backed away first. Mizuki was still hugging Nanami so he forcefully pulled him. "Damn snake, that's enough!"

Meanwhile, Yura searched for Rikuo's whereabouts and saw him lying on the ground with Tsurara beside him.

"Oikawa-san!" She called and approached her. "How's Nura-kun?"

"He fell unconscious, he exerted his self to stay in his yokai form longer than his limits."

"Yeah, he's been fighting non-stop for hours."

Inuyasha noticed Sesshomaru leaving towards the deeper parts of the chamber. "Hey, where are you going!?"

"The ogre king is still somewhere." He answered and was about to leave.

Nanami called him "Rikuo-chan already defeated the ogre king and his minions, we (referring to Yura and her) also sealed him for good." She explained. All of them gathered near Rikuo.

Sesshomaru hesitated to believe the girl. But he scanned the inner parts of the chamber and he didn't sensed any strong presence anymore. He turned around and returned to the group.

"Woah, so this human kid did all that?" Tomoe was astonished. Not just him though, almost everyone who doesn't know Rikuo yet was surprised.

Kagome's eyes widened as she saw Sesshomaru, Inuyasha noticed her sudden reaction and looked at him too.

"Sesshomaru, your hand... It's injured." The priestess announced. Sesshomaru's left wrist is bleeding, the wrist he used to attack using his claws. Even Sesshomaru was surprised of his injury, not just that but it had slower healing effect.

"SE-SESSHOMARU!?" Nanami screamed, remembering that name from last night's incident. She immediately backed away from him.

Yura too remembered "YOUR SESSHOMARU!?" She leaped beside Nanami and calming her down.

"Did your... m-mother said anything to you?" Nanami sweat rapidly and anxiously asked.

"Ye-"

"SORRY!" Nanami and Yura apologized in chorus. Everyone knew what they apologized about. Tomoe approached Nanami.

"Nanami, don't worry about yourself being mistaken as Sesshomaru's mate." Tomoe held her shoulders to assure that he's telling the truth. Tomoe smiled, but the longer the smile, the harder the grip on Nanami's shoulder is, then Tomoe's dark aura visibly appeared. He was mad, he was furious.

"NANAMI?" Tomoe asked.

"Hm?" Nanami replied, she was worried. She'll be scolded again.

Then, suddenly, Tomoe loosened his grips on Nanami's shoulder. He sighed and looked calmed down. "There's no point in getting angry at you now, anyway I'm just glad to see you unharmed." Tomoe stood up and continued to explain. "Sesshomaru already knows what happened at his palace. He already cleared the misunderstanding."

"Yes, all's well that ends well!" Mizuki announced. And he secretly jumped at Nanami and hugged her. Tomoe dragged him away though.

"Your hand is still bleeding." Inuyasha noticed his half-brother's sleeve slowly being drenched by blood. Sesshomaru pulled up his sleeves and revealed a medium cut on his wrist but it wasn't deep. It was still bleeding, and haven't even healed.

"Did master cut you?" Tsurara asked. It was weird for a powerful yokai to have such a small cut not heal.

"He did."

Kagome and Inuyasha went silent for a moment. "You got injured by this little dude!?" Inuyasha exclaimed and ended it with a laughed.

AN: 'Rikuo-sama' is the same as 'Master Rikuo', Im going to stick with using Rikuo-sama when Tsurara is going to address him.
