I hope you guys like this chapter. It is part 2 of Secrets, because, why the hell not. Their may be a part 3, still not sure where I'm taking Rookie's story yet. But anyways, time for the chapter!
They entered the fortress to find a large group of black skeletons who turned to face them.
"You shall not pass," one said in a strained whisper and they walked forward. Fido, who was closest to the skeletons, fell to the ground as a skeleton grabbed her. Kryptid launched an ender pearl at the skeletons but as soon as he hit them, he also fell to the ground, and he and Fido were soon writhing on the ground in pain. Destructo charged the monsters, but he too fell to the ground after touching them. Rookie backed off, but Steve wasn't quick enough and he also fell to the ground. Struggling to stay conscious, Steve saw Jeffery faint on contact with the closest skeleton, and Rookie snapped.
Rookies arm changed into a mottled green coloured as she charged the skeleton that had hurt her beloved pig. When she punched it though, instead of causing her a great deal of pain, the impact created an explosion that launched the skeleton into the wall. The other skeletons thought twice, and then tried to attack her. Rookie made the same kind of explosion that she had created with her hand, except using her feet, which launched her up into the air. She pull a sword from her scabbard that was around her shoulder and she cut through three of the skeletons before exploding some more of them. Soon, Kryptid and Fido were able to stand up, and they helped Rookie take care of the rest of them. They were surprised that she was able to take out so many of them because they hadn't seen her powers, but they didn't dwell on it for too long.
After a few minutes they were all ready to move on, but they had taken a lot of damage. Steve noticed a chest in the far corner of the room and opened it too find a large amount of what appeared to be golden apples. The others walked over and were confused about the apples, but Steve took a bite out of one and found that they were not only edible, but healed him. The others ate a few and soon everyone was back on full health. Fido put the rest of them in the backpack that Destructo had dropped which had held his TNT. "Hey!" Destructo shouted and he tried to take his bag back. Fido fought him off and said, "Keep your voice down, and I think you shouldn't need it if you don't have any TNT..." she trailed off when she saw a large amount of TNT still in there. "What the hell is this!?" Fido yelled as she pulled it out. "This would have helped us a lot, and you said that you had none left!"
"I like to keep some around..." Destructo said sheepishly, "And you said to not yell..."
Fido glared at him and slung the backpack on her back and she said to the others, "Let's go."
As they walked off, Rookie hung around and pulled Steve to the side.
"Don't tell them about that," she whispered.
"You mean what you did? Why not?" Steve asked.
"Cause I don't think them, especially Kryptid, will think highly of me after that."
"What do you mean?"
"I think I'm a creeper."
