Silver's POV-
About a week passed since Iggy had been back and it had been a shockingly calm few weeks. I mean calm as Fairy Tail ever gets. Shiro had started to become a big component in our team in the next few days. He was really getting the hang of his magic and as we took on bigger and bigger jobs, he became a big help to us. We started to steadily rise in the ranks.
"Hey, Touka," Iggy exclaimed over the roar of the guild hall.
She was over at the bar with her Kishi and Haru who were sipping on juice. Haru had a big scrape on his knee, though it didn't seem to bother him. I could tell Touka was interrogating the two on what had happened. She was super protected over her little siblings. I could see them shaking their heads as if they didn't know what had happened to little Haru. Shiro was behind Touka. He looked up to her and often was found tailing her. Even since the time she had used her iron dragon slayer magic to take out an entire clan of bandits that were kidnapping Shiro he had become her shadow.
"She can't hear you," Simon almost shouted at Iggy even though he was just across the table from him.
"Why don't we take a job or something and get outta this loud place for a bit," Iggy suggested. Iggy wasn't too fond of crowds and today we were packed into the guild hall. Everyone had come back around the same time from all their various jobs and were telling the tales of their adventures. We used to love to listen to all the stories, but since we could go on the adventures ourselves we had grown bored with the stories. Unless they were from the S-class wizards. Those stories never failed to entertain, success or failure.
Someone dropped something loudly behind me and it must've shatter into a lot of pieces from the sound of things.
"Agreed," I nodded, gently shifting Yuki in my arms. The kid was some how fast asleep despite all the noise in the guild hall.
Yuki was out cold and actually adding to the noise by snoring loudly himself. For a small kid he sounded like a full grown man snoring. None the less he looked adorable and innocent in his sleep. He had a sweet little smile on his dirty face, the kid had been playing with the Redfox kids before he passed out in my arms while resting from his play.
"But I can't leave until my parents get back in a little bit, can't leave Yuki alone," I said brushing a bit of grim off his little face. When he walked in he told me that he and the two young Redfox kids had been playing a game where one of them was part of a dark guild and the other two had to track him down and take him out.
"Ugh but we've been here all day," Iggy griped. We had been cooped up in the guild for most of the day since Touka and I had to babysit. Touka and I told the boys to go on without us but they stuck around.
"Why don't you just ask Lieselotte to babysit for ya?" Iggy asked.
"She's out today," I reminded him.
Yuki starting shifting around in my arms, he looked around blinking rapidly before rubbing his eyes and looking up at me.
"Sissy?" he whispered.
"Morning sleepy head," I smiled at him sitting him up in my lap.
"Yuki is thirsty," Yuki mumbled in a raspy voice leaning his head onto my chest.
"I'll get you some juice if you find your clothes and put them on," I set him next to me and set off to get his juice. When his clothes had disappeared was beyond me.
"Deal," he said just as I walked off.
As I walked back with his juice in hand I saw my parents were sitting with him. My dad had his hand on his head and my mom was shaking her head at the two of them because they were both only in their underwear.
"You guys are back early, I thought you weren't going to back until tomorrow,"I commented setting Yuki's juice in front of him and placing him back in my lap.
"Thank you Sissy," Yuki cheered before taking a big gulp from the cup. His free hand was gripping my wrist that had the bracelet Simon had given me. He was running his finger over the cool stone, tracing the outline.
"We found what we were looking for a lot faster than expected," my dad informed me dangling a small black bag from one of its' draw strings. I couldn't make out what was in the black bag, but what ever it was it was emitting an energy that made my stomach do backflips.
"Why doesn't Yuki come sit with Juvia?" my mom suggested holding her arms out for Yuki.
"No, Yuki is going to play with Kishi and Haru again," Yuki shook his head and was gone in a flash Kishi and Haru disappeared with him. He was recharged and ready to go again.
"Silver why don't we go outside and talk?" my dad suggested already getting up. Giving the vibe that it was less of a question and more of a demand.
Nodding, I got up and followed him outside. I heard my mom ask Lucy to watch Yuki for a second before she tagged along with us.
Once we were outside I leaned against the back guild hall crossing my arms over my chest and waited for one of them to explain what was going on. There wasn't anyone around which was unusual, usually someone was out there training or just hanging out.
"We found a way to seal away the demon," my dad told me a triumphant grin on his face.
My mouth fell open with a pop, "Wait what?"
"I have an old friend I use to work with from time to time when I was still getting used to my devil slayer magic and he knows a thing or two about sealing demons," my dad explained, "he said this would lock it away and everything would go back to normal."
Devil slayers do not seal demons, they slay them.
Hush, I mentally commanded.
"Do devil slayers really know how to seal demons?" I asked.
"Your mom and I have been looking over this for a while and we're almost positive this will work," my dad assured me.
Biting my lip a thousand scenarios ran through my head of what could happen. What if this only made things worse, or what if is didn't work?
I swear if you agree to this you idiot.
Will you shut up.
"It's easy all you have to do it put this on and I'll use my magic to seal it easy," Dad pulled out a small bracelet that had a silver chain and a shiny blue stone that shone in the sunlight.
My stomach started to do more flips and I thought I was going to be sick for a second.
See? This is your body warning you that this is a really bad idea.
"Silver-chan?" my mom said wrapping and arm around me.
"All I have to do is just wear this and it stops?" I asked.
"According to my friend yes," Dad nodded and held the bracelet out to me.
Nodding I started to reach my hand out. I could go back to normal. No more nightmares, no more worrying about the demon taking over. The stress of ever hurting someone I cared about because I lost control would go away. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about loosing my humanity one day and going berserk. I could be warm again.
When my hand came in contact with the bracelet I almost immediately dropped it. It was burning hot, but I made my fingers curl around the chain. The silver chain had thick links that were a little heavy despite their small size, there was also writing on the chain. It was in a language I didn't recognize, but it was the same thing written for every six chain lengths. There were two chains on the bracelet and the stone was suspended in the middle of the two chains connecting them. Shining in the sunlight the sapphire color stone threw a rainbow as I turned it around in my fingers. My fingers felt like they were going to burn to a crisp. Upon further investigation I could see he bracelet was actually leaving red marks where it touched my hand and fingers.
"Give me your arm," my dad commanded reaching for me.
I almost gave him my right arm until I realized that was the one that had the bracelet Simon had given me and handed him the other arm.
"Now to put the bracelet on," Dad took the bracelet from my hand and undid the clasps and wrapped the chains around my arm. The chains fit snuggly on my forearm and made an X with the blue stone in the middle.
Where the chains touched burned my skin and as soon as my dad shut the second clasp flames raced up my arm. Liquid fire was in my veins. I could see the bracelet burning into my skin branding me.
"Gray-sama?" my mom's eyes were wide with concern as she stared down at my arm.
"It's normal," my dad assured her in a mumbled before putting his thumb over the blue stone. I could feel his magic leaking into me from the bracelet. This writing on the chain links started to glow a golden color.
Fuck this, the demon hissed. I could see him beating against the glass with no prevail. It looked like he was in more pain than I was. A small part of me felt sympathy for him.
My dad started to mumble something under his breath as he used more and more magic into the bracelet. There were marks even appearing on my dad's fingers where he was touching the bracelet.
My stomach couldn't take it anymore, I leaned to the left and got violently sick. There was a ting of red when I got sick and I could taste copper in my mouth.
Your body is rejecting it stop now, the demon yelled.
No, I wanted you gone.
An animalistic growl reverberated through my head in response. There was a cracking sound followed by the sound of bells.
"Dad it hurts," I whined pulling my arm.
"I know just a little bit longer Silver," he grunted. He was expelling a large amount of magic trying to finish this seal.
"No," I hissed pulling harder. My whole body was on fire, I couldn't take it anymore.
"Calm down Silver-chan," my mom stroked my arm.
"No," I said except my voice didn't sound completely like me. There was an undertone that was deeper.
Power surged through me and expelled the unwanted heat and pushed my dad off of me. He flew back a few feet, but caught himself before he could sustain any damage.
"Silver-chan," my mom exclaimed while jumping away from me.
Wise choice.
"Silver I don't want to hurt you but I need to finish the seal I'm almost done," Dad called from where he landed not daring to get closer just yet.
"I'm good," I smiled the deep tone still in my voice.
"I was afraid you were going to say that."
I turned my back to him and started to walked away from my parents.
The ground beneath me turned to ice freezing my feet to the ground. I hadn't even heard my dad cast. Then again I had seen him cast with out speaking before. His pure will power to make his creation drove his magic. He didn't need to speak the words, unless it was a larger cast.
"Ice?" I bent down to touch it. I could feel the magic still pulsing in the ice. It was a familiar feeling, I could feel the same magic pulsing through that I had felt when my dad tried to teach me maker magic. The magic was sporadic, had no real shape to it until the users mind conformed it. Even in the floor form I could feel the magics desire to take on another shape, be remolded.
Standing back up I easily broke out of the ice and I turned around to face my dad.
"It's been a while since we had a little match," I said circling my dad like a jungle cat getting ready to pounce.
"Silver you aren't in your right mind the demon is trying to keep from getting sealed," my dad told me. He had a worried look on his face.
"Does that mean you won't fight me?"
"Silver."
I started to raise my hand, my magic started to flow to my hand in a cold rush.
"Water claw," I casted. My claws barely missed my dad as he moved out of the way to dodge. There was something weird about the claws. They had ice on the tops of them, so there were razor sharp shard of ice that followed the piercing water strike. That was new. I couldn't even feel the bracelet anymore.
My hand started to come up again to cast, but a rope made of water stop my hand from coming down.
"Stop SIlver-chan," my mom commanded.
Don't do it, you like this power.
A grin crept onto my face, "No."
I unintentionally started to drain the magic out of my mother from the water. It was useless to use water against a water woman.
My mom started to feel the affects from me draining her and she fell to her knees.
"Juvia get away," Dad shouted,"Ice make prison."
A cage of ice appeared over me. I caught my reflection in the ice and I was intrigued by the person looking back at me. Red eyes, sharp nails, a smile that showed pointed teeth and beautiful blue tattoos were glowing on pale skin. They were racing up my arms, swirls and various patterns.
"There," Dad sighed. He was tired from already using so much magic with the seal then having to use even more was taking it's toll on him.
Put your hand on it. You control ice.
I touched the prison and sent a small rush of my magic through the ice bar. The prison was then shattered into millions of pieces. I even absorbed the magic that was left in the prison. My dad was strong but I was stronger now. I could feel it.
My dad threw himself in front of my mom shielding her from the ice shards that flew her way.
Isn't this new power great?
It was. I could feel the fresh magic pulsing through me. None of my magic felt depleted. I still felt strong and ready to go.
"I like this power," I looked down at my hand making a fist.
"Okay, I've never been the kind for physical punishment but," my dad stood up his hands ready to cast.
"Gray-sama don't hurt Silver-chan," my mom pulled on my dads sleeve.
He nodded before attacking with excalibur.
I deflected with my death scythe, but instead of being made of water the handle was ice and the blade was water.
"How is Silver-chan using ice and water magic at the same time?" my mom questioned.
"Here I thought Yuki was the only one who was going to be able to use ice make magic," my dad called over to me.
I shrugged and blocked the next attack that came and even landed a hit with the handle of my scythe. I didn't want to really hurt my dad. Did I?
"I don't want to lose this power," I said stomping a foot freezing the ground beneath me.
Told you you would love it, Takeo smirked. I could feel his wet hand on my shoulder, his chains hitting my back.
You were right.
Now let go, he whispered in my ear.
Nodding I let Takeo embrace me.
It didn't feel the way I expected. I felt still in control of myself, my limbs moved by my own command. The only difference was now I could feel what Takeo felt. He was furious at my parents for trying to seal him. A surge of energy rushed through me.
I dodged the next attack thrown at me and ended up a few meters away in a flash.
My dad looked confused at my disappearance.
I don't want to hurt them, I told Takeo as I saw the violent images in his mind. He wanted to do harm.
Just let me take care of it.
My fist hit the ground sending black ice up in the air hitting my dad a few times. They were blunt but they still did damage.
"Gray-sama," my mom shouted running over to him.
Stop you're hurting him!
Just let go kid, Takeo pushed, they just want to take away your power. They don't want you to be stronger than they are. You don't need them.
I don't need them? Of course I needed my family or did I? No, I didn't. I could be so much more powerful without them. They just wanted to seal my power away.
"Ice and water won't work," Dad said to my mom.
"What's happening to SIlver-chan?"
"The demon is taking over her."
It irritated me that they were talking about me like I wasn't there. They could at least acknowledge my presence.
"I'm right here you know," I growled, "Water claws."
My dad shoved my mom out of the way of my attack, but got all the impact himself. Red got onto the black and blue claws.
Yes, Takeo hissed. The sight of blood sent him into a frenzy. He had missed the sight of it. Takeo lived to fight and shed blood. He yearned for it.
I started to close in on my dad to attack again.
"Water lock," my mom casted capturing me in scalding water. She was furious, I could feel her anger pulsing in the water.
I tried to freeze the water and failed, I couldn't even manipulate the water. My mom had always drawn power from her emotions and she was feeling some really strong ones. She was concern and worried for me, livid that my dad was hurt and hurting that she was having to hurt me. None of her emotions were selfish or focused on her own pain.
A rush of guilt went through me. I blinked rapidly shaking my head. What was I doing? Why was I hurting my parents?
Nu uh we're too close.
Another surge of energy went through me and I started to thrash around in the water. I wanted out. I wanted to hurt someone.
My ice froze the hot water and I busted out of the water lock.
"My turn," I hissed water dripping off of me.
"Sissy?" a voice called.
I stopped right before my fists could hit the ground to send more black ice shards.
My head turned towards the voice to see Yuki standing behind me.
"Yuki wants to know why you guys are fighting," Yuki started to walk towards us.
"Yuki stay back," Dad yelled scaring Yuki a bit. He was afraid I would hurt Yuki.
"I wouldn't hurt Yuki," I whispered. Would I? I was confused. Yuki was my little brother, it was my job to protect him. I wouldn't hurt him.
My body froze, I could hurt Yuki. I had already hurt my parents. I was hurting my family. This wasn't me, it had to stop. My head started to hurt.
Stop, you're starting to reject me again.
No, I won't hurt them anymore, I shook my head.
A hand grabbed my forearm and a pulse of heat ran up my arm and through my body. Everything went black.
Gray's POV-
I braced for the next impact ready to throw myself at Juvia again to keep her from getting hurt. Silver was completely out of reach. A few plans ran through my head, but they all involved hurting my daughter. I had been trying to avoid that route. Though as the fight went on I was beginning to realize that was looking like the only option I was going to have. My friend who had given me the bracelet had told me it was likely the demon was going to fight back, but he had downplayed the power that the demon would possess.
"Sissy?" Yuki called.
Dammit why wasn't he in the guild?
Silver froze. A flash of confusion went across her face. She mumbled something then clenched her eyes shut as if she were hurting. Silver was fighting back again.
I took the opening I was given to grab her arm and finish the seal.
Silver let out a short scream before she collapsed.
I caught her in my arms and watched as she reverted back to human form. The bracelet was embedded in her skin and would remain there as a seal to keep that thing from getting out again.
"Daddy what happened to Sissy?" Yuki whimpered about to cry.
"Sissy is fine now," I assured him patting his head before picking up Silver.
"Is Silver-chan really okay now?" Juvia asked looking down at our daughter.
"Yes, I can't feel the demon anymore I was told she would probably sleep for a good while after the seal was completed so this is normal," I nodded and started to walk towards the house so Silver could rest for a bit. Plus, I wanted to keep an eye on her just in case something had gone wrong.
"Daddy can Yuki stay with Sissy?" Yuki asked.
"Don't you want to go play?"
"Yes, but Sissy always watches over Yuki and Sissy is hurt so Yuki needs to watch over Sissy until she feels better."
"Isn't Yuki-chan the perfect brother?" Juvia grinned ruffling his hair.
I smiled down at my son and nodded.
He beamed up at me and stuck close to my side and said, "Don't worry Sissy Yuki is protecting you now."
As if she had heard him Silver smiled in her deep sleep.
