Sorry I have been absent for so long. Job hunting sucks. A big hug to my beta Markslove. Enjoy.

Ruby's big eyes scanned the darkened room. She was scared. Daddy always told her there was nothing to be scared of, but, she was anyway. Wiggling her way further down the bed, she pulled the blankets up to her nose. She had had so much fun at Finn and Rach's house. Her and Livvy and Chris had played all day. It was night now though and there were lots of bad noises.

Finn had asked if she wanted to sleep in the same room as Livvy and Chris but she wanted to be brave. She wanted to be a big girl like Livvy. Squeezing her eyes shut she remembered the song Daddy sang to her every night.

Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby.
When you wake, you shall have,
All the pretty little horses.

Blacks and bays, dapples and greys,
Go to sleepy you little baby,

Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby.
Hush-a-bye, don't you cry,
Go to sleepy little baby,
When you wake, you shall have,
All the pretty little horses.

She wished that her Daddy was with her right now. He always made everything better, less scary. This wind whistled and Ruby was up and out of bed standing in the hallway. She whimpered as she walked back towards the living room. Reaching the large room she saw Finn and Rach snuggling on the couch.

Twisting to grab his hot chocolate Finn saw something out of the corner of his eye. "Hey Ruby." Finn frowned when he saw how distraught she looked. "What's wrong sweetheart?"

Rachel jumped off the couch and walked towards the girl. "Bad dream?"

Ruby shook her head "scawy."

"Oh honey." Scooping the little girl up Rachel placed her next to Finn on the couch.

The little girl squeezed her soft toy tight.

"Is it the dark?" Finn brushed her hair out of her eyes.

The little girl nodded.

Finn looked questioningly at Rachel as she stood to leave the room. A few moments later she returned with a lamp that had coloured stars on the lamp shade.

"This was my night light" Rachel whispered "would you like to use it?"

Ruby looked up and Rachel her eyes big and nodded.

Rachel nodded in return. "Alright then, let's get it all set up."

Finn scooped the little girl into his arms and followed Rachel back into the room. Rachel plugged in the night light while Finn tucked her into bed. Ruby gasped as coloured stars shone on the walls and ceiling.

"Goodnight little one" Finn kissed her forehead.

"Goodnight Ruby. You're a star" Rachel whispered.

Ruby smiled up and Finn and Rachel before snuggling into her bed. Quietly Finn and Rachel walked towards the door and headed back to the living room.

"She is so sweet" Rachel stated as she sat back on the sofa.

"Yeah she is.

"Finn?"

"Yes baby." Finn kissed her forehead.

"Finn, I want another baby."

Finn smiled into her hair. "Let me just text Kurt, then we'll get practising." Rachel giggled as Finn picked her up and carried her to the bed room.

Magical. The word that Kurt would use to describe his date with Blaine. Now here he was in his room putting on his pyjamas, so they could watch a movie together. Was this still part of the date? He wasn't too sure. All he knew was that was that for the first time in a long time he felt connected to someone. Sighing he finished putting on his pyjamas.

Blaine was stunned, floored even; not only had Kurt gone out on a date with him, it had been nice. Blaine shook his head; nice wasn't the right word. Nice is reserved for the misshapen socks his grandmother gave him every Christmas. No this date, this night had been majestic, ethereal, out of this world. Blaine scanned the room. If only there was some sturdy furniture that he could climb on. Closing his eyes he laid his head on the back of the sofa. He couldn't contain the huge smile that formed on his face and honestly he didn't want to.

"What are you so happy about?"

Blaine's head turned to see Kurt walking towards him clad in blue silk pyjamas.

"Just thinking about my wonderful night."

Kurt smiled shyly before humming in agreement "it was pretty great."

"It was"

"So" Kurt sat on the sofa "what movie are we watching?"

"Dirty dancing."

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner" Kurt quoted.

"Exactly." Blaine grabbed the remote "shall we?"

Just as the opening credits finished Kurt's phone buzzed. Looking down at his phone, he smiled at the message and then returned his phone to the table.

"Finn said the girls are fine and that Rachel wants to keep them."

Blaine snorted "not happening."

"That's what I said."

As the movie progressed they gravitated closer to each other. Halfway through the movie Blaine has his head on Kurt's shoulder and their fingers intertwined. Turning his head Kurt kissed Blaine's forehead. Sighing Blaine shuffled closer, he was so comfy and felt his eyes growing heavy.

Kurt was sure that is heart was beating in stereo and at an unhealthy pace. It had nothing to with heart disease that ran in his family and everything to do with the cute guy who had fallen asleep on his shoulder with his arm flung around Kurt's waist.

As Kurt sat quietly on the sofa acting as Blaine's human pillow he allowed his mind to wander. What would his life have been like if he had met Blaine earlier in life? Would they have even liked each other? Kurt doubted that he would have even had the courage to talk to someone as gorgeous as Blaine. He shook his head. There was no point in thinking about things that could have been, Blaine was in his life now. Blaine and Ruby. Kurt smiled at the thought of the little girl, the sweet little girl. So quiet but he face lit up every time she saw Kurt's teapots in the kitchen – he made a mental note to formally invite Ruby to his and Olivia's next tea party.

Looking over at Blaine Kurt couldn't help but smile – he looked so adorable. His long lashes fanned across his cheeks and so often his nose would scrunch up. Kurt's heart broke a little when he realised that he should probably wake him up.

"Blaine" he whispered sweetly. Blaine hummed in response to his own name but remained asleep. Gently Kurt ran his finger down the bridge of Blaine's nose. "Blaine, wake up."

Frowning Blaine moved his face away from Kurt who giggled at his adorableness. Feeling a little bolder Kurt started to run his fingers through Blaine's hair.

"Mmm Kurt." Quickly Kurt pulled his hand away and placed it on his own cheek which was now feeling a little warm. "Why'd you stop? 'S'nice." Blaine wondered sleepily.

"It-it's bedtime."

"Okay" Shuffling closer he nuzzled his head into Kurt's shoulder.

Kurt was laughing out loud now. "Blaaaaaaine wakey wakey." Digging his fingers into Blaine side he began to tickle him.

Blaine sat straight up. "I'm up, I'm up." Turning Blaine frowned at Kurt "were you tickling me?"

Kurt nodded slowly "you wouldn't wake up" he reasoned.

"Oh I see how it is now." Blaine turned to fully face Kurt "tickle a man while he's down huh?"

Kurt noted the mischievous look in Blaine's eyes. Suddenly he pounced and attacked Kurt's sides with his fingers.

Kurt squirmed trying and failing to get away, "No. S-Stop it. No Noooooooooooo." Kurt squealed between bouts of laughter.

"This is my revenge Kurt." Blaine stated matter of factly.

"I'm not ticklish, I'm not ticklish, I'm not ticklish." Kurt chanted over and over. Clearly he was lying.

"If you're not ticklish then I can continue."

Kurt batted Blaine's hands away "No-ahhhhhhhhhhh. Stop it. You'll regret it." Kurt was breathing hard from trying not to laugh. "You will regret it."

"Huh" Blaine stopped his tickle attack Kurt started to get his breath back.

"Nope" his attack started again "I don't think I will regret it."

Out of nowhere Kurt found a surge of energy and pushed himself up onto his knees. Laughing evilly he began to run his fingers along Blaine's neck.

Screeching Blain shrugged his shoulders in a feeble attempt to protect his neck.

"Not so funny now, is it?"

"K-Kurt I'm sorry."

"How sorry?" Blaine didn't answer. "Clearly not sorry enough." Kurt moved his fingers to Blaine's sides.

"Don't do it Kurt." Blaine managed to warn between snorts.

"Or what?"

"N-no m- more dates."

Kurt looked in Blaine's eyes. "Fine. I call a truce." When Kurt realised he was straddling Blaine he quickly sat back on his side of the sofa. "You play dirty Anderson."

Shrugging his shoulders Blaine leaned over and kissed Kurt's cheek. "I don't see you complaining."
