Chapter12:Era of the Cold Alliance

The passing of the British Crisis of 2046 may have been solved,but it established one thing amd that is the ANL with international intervention and support can finally after decades control the two Superpowers better.The whole crisis at first seemed like a victory for the Russians but as the citizens back at home in the Motherland studied the terms of Azanian withdrawal from the English Channel this view began to change.The Russians were not allowed to send their RIA to Britain to win the ongoing civil war which the Imperialists were clearly losing and so the Kremlin felt the pressure of the situation whilst trying to come up with a solution that wouldn't piss off the Azanians to invade Britain themselves.

The British Civil War continued all the way to 2047 with the Russians funding,supplying and arming the Imperialists with their every needs whilst the Azanians did the same for the Anti-Imperialists.No proxy war between 2047-48 was more heavily backed than that on British soil.As a result of Superpower intervention hundreds of thousands of civilians would end up dead.But unfortunately for the Russians in March 2047 the Imperialists were now in control of many key cities the UK including London,Manchester etc. for the Imperialists the war was already lost.So after the Imperialist main faction leader Victor London is murdered by an Azanian agent of the Eastern Coast of the UK(his hideout),the leader who would take over from him Johnathan Jersey Jr. would flee to Russia.With their only capable leader gone along with many Imperialist supporters,the remaining Imperialist Army collapsed along with supporting factions and organizations,thus putting an end to Monarch rule in Britain as the rightful heir to the throne King Harris had fleed to the DUJ(Democratic Union of Japan) were he set up a permanent residence.

With all possible threats having been annihilated Sir. Paul V. Larrington declares the establishment of the Greater English Republic,a democratic State to which Sir Paul along with his British Partisan Party(BPP) ascending to leadership and being the first President of the Greater English Republic.The nation encompassed the entire island of Ireland as well as that of Britain.The world was in shock,never before had they thought the Azanians would be assisting white people at anything,but the Azanians wanted to establish spheres of influence in Europe so it was easier to figure out why.Although the Civil War was over,its effects were evidently horrendous with a total of 1.2 Million casualties and massive destruction to infrastructure.Everything the Brits had build up to that point was gone.The economy of the country was in extremely bad shape with poverty and starvation rising to alarming levels.Turning to the Russians for help was impossible as they instantly begun sanctioning the Republic after its formation,setting up embargoes on almost all goods as possible,it was terrible.But then a savior came,although many in the Kremlin argued fiercely about sanctioning the English Republic due to the fear of the Azanians coming to the save,others believed even with aid the Azanians would influence the nation indefinitely,so the sanctions were set up with other European nations and other non-European States following suit and making the Brits suffer.

Without surprise the Azanians came to he instant save.At first they tried trading but it proved futile due to the fact that the English Republic was so poor they couldn't really profit,it was clear that the English economy had collapsed.So the Azanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Akina Malinga began setting up plans to redevelop and rebuild the economy of the nation and this was done in the form of massive grants from the AMF,like with most aid the two Superpowers give.The two countries then ended up signing the Manchester Conference of Mutuality(MCMmaking their alliance official.The Azanians would end up building Military bases in the country as a show of Azanian support for the Brits.The AASG(Azanian Aero-Space Guardianship)would even begin using American,British,Australian and some Indians as astronauts for their Space program against Russia's KSC(Kosmoc Space Corporation).However as a result of the Brits MCM alliance with the Azanians,due to hostility from the EF(European Federation) and subsequent sanctions,the English Republic ends up exiting the EF in protest and boycotts the Euro(£) preferring to use the Azanian Pule instead with Azanian businesses investing billions to help improve the English Economy.Although the Brits were totally depended on Azanian investments and aid at least it was working and the standard of life was improving ever so quickly,the Azanians were rebuilding the nuclear devastated and wartorned nations.

As a show of some form of goodwill and because of SIC-IDSI tensions and competition in the secret intelligence business,the Russian IDSI captures the Dark Widow(the British Cyber-Terrorist responsible for the ISA almost invading Britain)thus handing him over to the Azanian Secret police the ABSI(Azanian Beuro for State Intelligence),the young man is then sentenced to Death via Firing squad.The two Superpowers even do an exchange for their two captured spies,although they had many spy networks against one another.

Meanwhile new problems in the Cold War would arise,in Oceania,although at first Superpower control was strong.The British Crisis made it clear that if the ANL,Japan,Italy and France supported a certain cause then such controlled could be crippled or minimized.Ideas of independence were spreading all over Australia.You see SouthWest and SouthEastern Australia was emancipated in 2030 by the ruling DUJ and Italian Republic to form the Western Commonwealth of Australia,but for the past decade and a half more than half of Australian land was being directly controlled by outside forces,namely the CRE and the ISA whom up until 2047 refused to grant independence.The Australians wanted their Nation back and they made this clear with thousands of letters and petitions to the Kremlin and the Horn of the Nation demanding full independence.This caused massive demonstrations of resistance within Southeastern Australia(ruled by the Azanians) and New Zealand which the Azanian Army brutally suppressed,same story in Northeastern Australia fkr the Russians.Although Australian morale within the nation was beginning to decline,opinions about the brutal suppression of resistance led to a poor view of Azanian and Russian rule in Australia back at home in the ISA and CRE,seeing the rule as being toxic for the Australian people.When a group of Chinese resistance fighters manage to convince resistance fighters within the CRE Sector of Australia to revolt violently,the Chinese along with a massive group Australian resistance fighters with Azanian guns attack the Confederatory Building in newly built capital city for the sector - Exalt Metropolis,the RIA ends up getting involved and destroys the attackers with brutality,even after their surrender the Russians on tape continued to shoot down unarmed men.The tape spread like wildfire in the CRE and ISA,but more importantly in the Western Australia.The people of Australia in and out of the foreign controlled sectors were outraged,thus began the Isle Wars of Oceania with the Western Commonwealth of Australia declaring war on the CRE Sector of Australia.The world was shocked and Western Australia was surprisingly fast into taking up arms when making multiple arms deals with the DUJ,Italian Republic and Independent Republic of Mexico.

The Azanians wanted to avoid involvement in the Isle Wars for fear that the same kind of rebellion would take place in their sector of control in Australia.On the 5th October 2047 as the British Civil War was ongoing and five days after the declaration of war in Australia,the CRE would send 200 000 troops to invade Western Australia from the Russian Sector of control in Australia.The Russians expected the invasion to be swift and quick but the Australians resisted fiercely,the Commander and Chief of the Australianarmed forces Wilson Lee was an intelligent strategist,he knew hope for victory in a Frontline war with the Russians was virtually impossible and so after weeks of fighting the Western Australian Army would switch to intense and brutal Guerilla Warfare.Meanwhile due to the war in Australia there would be major political instability all over Oceania,this instability would even end up affecting soke parts of East Asia.In the nation of Indonesia,a militaristic and ambitious Dictatorship had been established and in 2047 November would invade the nation of Papua New Guinea with expansionist intentions,thus after the Australian war begun another war was declared in Oceania and almost all countries of Oceania would be dragged into the war against or with Indonesia to protect themselves against Indonesian foreign aggression and expansion.Thus the Isle Wars of Oceania were underway.

The Indonesian Army would move swiftly upon Papuan mainlands taking over large parts of Papuan land the Indonesian army and Airforce was simply too powerful for the Papuans to handle.Papuan New Guinea's industry was fast growing which meant once the nation was captured,the Indonesian armed forces' capacity would be improved to even greater lengths.For fear that Indonesian expansion might spread to other Oceanian nations,Fiji and its allies from Oceania would after sending aid which clearly failed to hold off the Indonesian army,would end up sending their own personal armies to help maintain the nation of Papua New Guinea and return lost territory.As a result of this the Indonesian Dictator Surya Lin ordered the Indonesian Airforce to begin fierce bombardment of Fiji and its allies.

The reason for Indonesian expansion was because after WW3 the Indonesians felt robbed,not only did they lose massive amounts of land and many of their islands after the Kyotto Convocation but new nations had been formed off this land - After all the land the Indonesians share with Malasians was taken the Republic of Gunung was established among other nations in the taken Indonesian islands.So war was taking place all over Oceania.Meanwhile the Independent Republic of the Philllipines wanted to take advantage of the wartime conditions and expand their own influence and land.They wanted to invade Oceania and be a major player there and used Indonasian aggression to their advantage by becoming allies with them.The Phillipines had a powerful army but lagged behind in terms of uts Airforce which was still formidable nontheless,but there was one problem,they wanted to invade invade Nations of Oceania and this meant having to fight island after island,thus meaning a lot of water and therefore making Naval Warfare a necessity and no way could the Phillipinese or Indonesian Navy stand up to the ANF(Azanian Naval Forces) which guarded the coasts of New Zealand and especially RINF,the Russian navy which ruled the waters of Oceania.So in a bid to cripple the naval capability of the Russians a joint Indonesian-Philipinese Airforce would with a surprising attack,strike Winter Port,the major Russian Naval base in the Russian controlled sector of Australia and Oceania.Winter Port was the largest naval base in Australia and the attack ended up with the deaths of 345 Russians and 200 RINF soldiers of different Nationalities of the Empire.The Tsar was furious and the CRE would instantly declare war on the two nations.

The Philippinese and the Indonesian s had a plan up their sleeves,they would use the attack which bought them time to take over Oceania and hide under an Azanian backed armistice with Russia afterwards.The Azanians wanted no part in the Australian war but once it gave birth to the Isle Wars of Oceania opinion amongst Azanian leaders began to change.As the year hit 2048 the Azanians were shocked to find that Western Australia was still standing although up against the CRE.As for the Azanians it was in this uear the ISA began getting involved by aiding the Phillipines and Indonesia with weapons,supplies and money to help fend off the Russians and take over Oceania which the Azanians would influence easier as the RINF in Oceania was currently crippled.The Isle Wars would become bloody and personal with casualties at a high due to Superpower intervention.Another proxy war between the two Superpowers many nations were either being backed by Russia or Azania,worse case scenario would be that they were fighting the RIA as the CRE was now directly involved in the Isle Wars of Oceania.The Isle Wars of Oceania would continue for the next decade or so as nations switched sides,treaties that would eventually be broken were signed and the Russians were although effective against Indonesia and the Phillipines, extremely horrible against Western Australia.In 2059,after eleven years of unforgiving war and instability,peace was finally slowly being established with Russian victory against the Phillipines and Indonesia(which were invaded by RIA).

In 2060 the war on Australia was becoming increasingly unhealthy for the CRE.The campaign on Australia was becoming increasingly expensive with the RIA failing to assert control,the war had even spread all the way to the CRE Sector of Australia.Many investments in Australia were therefore withdrawn or taken away and the entire Australian economy (except for the Azanian controlled sector of Australia)was facing incredible decline.Due to the Guerilla Warfare tactics many RIA battalions in the nation were unable to tell enemy from civilian thus many acts against humanity would occur with civilians getting caught up in the fighting.The most powerfullest militargy in the world was unable to defeat guerilla troops,this ws a humiliating defeat for RIA,and the fact that 20 000 RIA soldiers and 2.7 Million Western Australian civilians had died over the decade of war meant the campaign was extremely unpopular back at home in Russia,with many calling for the troops to return home,thus protests and media hounds would end up attacking the entire campaign as a whole with many Russian humanitarian organizations helping Australian soldiers and civilians alike as protests in terms of health.The war in Australia just wasn't worth it.So in February 2060 the Russian President Aleksei Sokolov began bringing the boys back home to the motherland.By this time the Azanians had granted independence on their sector of Australia(officially in 2058) due to riots,boycotts and other forms of protest against Azanian rule,thus the Azanians granted independence on the terms that Australia be allies with Azania(N.B the Azanians were therefore after some time aiding the Australians and after pressure from inside their sector of control,internal pressure from the ISA itself and from Western Australia granted independence in late 2058 their section of control in Australia).Sokolov would then after reluctantly withdrawing from Australia unwillingly sign the Solokov Approvals with Australian President and Azanian President in Tokyo,DUJ with the accords making it official that the two Superpowers officially recognize the independence of the newly established Australian Federation,a major loss for the Russians who's Tsar was bloody livid.The Azanians woud though keep New Zealand,although greater freedom would be allowed in the Azanian controlled nation,this was a resounding victory for the Australians whom had finally gained totak independence from the Russian Empire and the ISA(with the Azanians being the ones helping to rebuild the Australian economy and soceity).Due to pressure from the ANL Security Council,the two Superpowers would end up re-signing the DAWA Accords(from the British Crisis of 2047-8)a year later pledging to keep world peace and avoid direct conflict due to the fact that during the Isle Wars of Oceania(2047-2059)many incidences had occured which almost frequently resulted in the two Superpowers going to War and possibly destroying the whole planet.

As a result of the Accords,in North AFRICA,Asia,South America and even in Europe and Oceania would thus occur,with both Superpowers fueling the fighting in order to increase their influence globally,proxy wars become even more destructive and for those nations who's civilians are plunged into civil wars or wars of any kind,their fate was terrible.But another problem accompanying the increase in Cyber-Terrorist attacks against the CRE specifically(Although the ISA was also included in the attacks).

In 2063,Communist Regimes begin rising all over Asia,South America and even a Communist Government takes over Mexico(a North American State).The American Empire use the drug wars in Mexico and the Communist Regime itself as an excuse to send bombing attacks against Mexico,with Azanian backing,the RACU(Russian-American Coalitionist Union)reluctantly allows this,whilst keeping a close eye on the American Empire.The mainly Capitalist ANL was shocked.Japan and Italy blame both Superpowers for the "Communist Crisis" occuring around the world.World pressure thus forces both the CRE and the ISA to agree to put aside their differences to fight Communist Governments as the more people suffered because of post-WW3 effects even after decades after the Great Age of Cataclysm(WW3),poverty was rampart globally as most of the aid countries received was more militaristic than financial,even if it was major financial aid,the Superpowers were forcing smaller and weaker nations to compete with them although knowing very they couldn't.By the words of the Italian President "The Global Superpowers have failed to make the world into a better place for all as they were forced to agree after the Great Age of Cataclysm",even the CRE was facing an overwhelming amount of problems especially with millions of migrants running for opportunities of the "Prosperous Soil of the Motherland" in the Megalopolis of Moscow,same with Azania who were blocking millions of poor migrants and refugees from entering the nation let alone any hope of citizenship.

Thus because of the factors the two Superpowers put "SOME" of their differences aside and both reluctantly agree to fight Communism together,thus starting the era known as the Cold Alliance.

Meanwhile an organization called Cynosure-The Eye of Brotherhood is formed in the Azanian Satellite State of Ethopia,it would be this organization which forces the CRE to make it's laws on prosthetics strict and slowly move to ban them as it's existence results in the staggering increase in Cyber-Terrorist attacks.The CRE and the ISA had a new enemy now,thus the Cold Alliance (although still at Cold War)had a new enemy - Communism,and to fight it was to also become a priority,and fight it they did.
