Chapter 12: Only Thing I Could Do

"-Meat's a good present! Barbaque, tariokai, oh and roast beef too."

I smacked Rin upside the head," Idiot, only you're into that stuff."

"OW! Why you-" He blinked in surprise," Ryuu…"

Shima grinned," Hey you're back!"

"Oh Ryuu! Welcome back", Sheimi greeted happily.

I nodded and took a seat between Shima and Bon. Ever since I discovered Amaimon was alive I couldn't seem to leave him. Mephisto wouldn't let me take him with me either. I was on edge. The reason why is still so unknown to me.

"Hmm, hey, I think a bouquet of flowers would be awesome", Shima stated, day dreaming.

"You can't eat flowers", Rin exclaimed.

Sheimi spun around," Rin! There are flowers that are perfectly edible!"

I sighed, rubbing my head. Konekomaru sweatdropped beside me as we watched them all fight.

Bon decided to make his remark," OH CUT THE CRAP ALREADY! Shima! You're in charge of the present. Figure out what she wants and get it by Sunday!"

He nodded and saluted to his friend, "Gotcha!"

"Okumura you're on cake detail! Not buying it, baking it!"

Rin practically sparkled," You got it! I've never baked a cake before but whatever."

Bon sighed," Konekomaru, Hamato, you two are in charge of shopping and Rin."

"What!?"

"That leaves Moriama and me to decorate the room", he stated.

I adjusted my headphones," …so what's this for again?"

Everyone groaned. I just blinked innocently. It wasn't like it was my fault that I was late. I blame the damn hamster.

"Alright Okumura, you read the recipe and I'll write it down", Kone stated, avoiding his gaze. The monk was still very sketching around the two of us- the two of us being the ones with demonic blood.

We had come down to the library after Bon's speech and directions to find out how to bake a cake. We were sitting at one of the many tables within the giant Labyrinth called a library. Mephisto had WAY too much money and time on his hands to stock this thing so well. While they were looking for the recipe I was checking a magazine for cake designs.

Rin nodded behind his pile of books," Ok, here goes. Four eggs. One cup of sugar. Two cups of flour…"

Amaimon squeaked from my lap to redirect my attention to an approaching figure. I blinked and looked up to see Izumo. I cleared my throat and motioned with my head. Rin and Konekomaru finally got the hint, hurriedly stopping thier actions.

"What are you guys doing", she asked.

I grabbed Rin before he could get away and held up Amaimon the hamster," They're helping me make a house and little treats for this guy."

She blinked at the hamster and Amaimon blinked right back. Even thought Mephisto said NO to me bringing the King of Earth out, I had done it anyway. Amaimon didn't complain either and happily made a home in my uniform jacket pocket.

"Uh….ok….?"

Konekomaru stood abruptly and nodded," Y-ya! Rin let's go buy the stuff we need!"

I blinked as they both ran off, leaving me with Izumo. Amaimon squeaked and suddenly bit my thumb. I hissed at him with a glare. Izumo wandered off, fully weirded out and left me to deal with my 'pet'.

I stood and headed to the bathroom. Once I was sure no one else was in there, I locked the door, dropping Amaimon in the sink.
"Did you really have to do that", I questioned and licked the blood off

"She was staring at you, I had to do something."

"So what?"

"I didn't like it Ryuu."

I snorted," Oh well, put up with it. She's just a classmate anyways…."

"Good."

"Good", I asked while washing my hands. "What's that supposed to mean?"

I heard a soft pop behind me and a hard chest pressed against my back. I tensed, Amaimon lowering his head to speak in my ear.

"I do not like the way females look at MY devil….I do not share…."

I suppressed a shudder, turning to face him," Well what are you going to do about it…?"

Amaimon smirked, the exact same expression he had when he fought Rin in the forest. I narrowed my eyes, trapped between him and the sink as he placed his hands on either side of me. Silver met teal in a long moment of silence.

"I never did get to play with you that night because of Okumara."

I blinked," Play…? It's a bit cramped in here to play Amaimon."

He titled his head," I do not mean that way."

"Then what-"

I froze, his cold lips pressed to mine. I hurriedly shoved him back, cursing at him. He simply watched in amusement, perhaps a little confused to why I was so mad.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"W-wrong!? Why the hell did you just kiss me you bastard!?"

"I do not see the problem, we have done it before."

"Before…? That wasn't-!"

I blushed lightly. He was referring to our fights over candy and mistook it as kissing. They were two completely events and things.

Amaimon raised an eyebrow," Maybe I should get the candy first?"

"I-idiot, t-this isn't something people just do."

He tilted his head, not quite understanding. I sighed but then narrowed my eyes as he stuck a sucker in his mouth, MY sucker I was keeping for lunch.

"Amaimon…"

"Come and get it Ryuu~"

I tensed, not wanting to indulge in his games. But he did steal MY sucker…it was just defending my pride, right?

I grabbed his head with both hands, biting the stick off. His grin grew, keeping his jaw closed as I tried to go for the candy.

He pushed me harder against the skin, making my lower spine crack. I growled in warning, biting his lip and drawing blood. My eyes flared gold at the smell and I stopped trying to go for the candy. Slowly, I bit his lower lip again, sucking on the blood.

Amaimon raised his eyebrows curiously, but let me continue. The smell and the taste was intoxicating.

"Amaimon…what are you doing to me…."

He hums," Whatever do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean you bastard….the smell, the feeling in my chest….what is it…?"

His grin only grew wider," That's good news Ryuu."

"Huh?"

"It means you really are mine", he stated before nipping my ear, making me hiss at him.

I sighed, leaning against the counter, cold cloth around my neck. I had finally been able to convince Amaimon to give it up and return to his hamster state. Rin had questioned why I smelled like the demon, because for all he knew Amaimon was dead.

I told him it was his imagination.

Rin's familiar jumped onto the counter," What are you doing Rin?"

"It's a birthday cake", he stated, clearly excited.

"A birthday cake? What's a cake?"

"It's a type of spongey and sugary dessert", I stated. "Humans eat it at special occasions."

The familiar 'oooh'ed and nodded his head. I turned back to Ukaboch who was talking to me about the frosting. I stuck a finger in the white cream and stuck a glob in my mouth.

I turned when I heard a squeak only to see Amaimon smirking at me in his little hamster way. I furrowed my eyebrows before realizing some of the frosting had gotten on my chin. I scowled and blushed lightly at his dirty mind, wiping it away.

The hamster only laughed all squeaky like.

The students stared in horror at the cake. It was decorated for Christmas.

Damnit Rin. I leave for the night and THIS is what you do.

"Wrong, wrong, wrong!"

Bon was pissed to say the least. I shook my head, getting up on a chair while everyone was distracted. I took off everything Christmas related from the tall cake. Amaimon took a cookie and nibbled on it, nestled in my pocket securely.

I rolled my eyes and started decorating the cake properly. Since it was for a girl who seemed to have no major interests I stayed with paper flowers. I spent the night making them while Amaimon kept nipping my ear.

Stupid demon invited himself into my bed, not as a hamster, but full bodied.

Shaking my head from the thoughts, I wrapped simple baby blue ribbons around the icing edges for each cake. Amaimon blinked at the cake that was now perfectly fine for a birthday and NOT Christmas.

"Woah- what the!?"

I blinked at everyone who finally noticed. Rin was looking at it all in surprise.

"What? I fixed it."

Bon smirked," See? I knew I could trust you to make sure lamebrain didn't screw it up."

"Hey!"

I snorted, hopping off the ladder," It was nothing."

Shima pursed his lips," Only one problem."

"What?"
"The ink from the paper stained the cake…."
"HUH", I spun around and scowled.

Bon sighed," Well now what are we going to do with it….?"

"….I know someone who loves sweets."

Everyone blinked at me while Amaimon squeaked happily, knowing exactly where I was bringing this cake.

The whole, party for everyone thing, went by rather quickly. I don't think I've ever had so much….what's it called, fun? I had left Amaimon with Mephisto so he was pretty grumpy with me.

Between the near mix up of almost dropping the cake and picking a number for a present I guess ya, it was fun. I had gotten number four and pulled out a box from the bag. Whoever had gotten it wanted it to be a surprise. It was taped up pretty heavily.

Back at the room by Mephisto's office I rolled it between my hands. It wasn't that heavy, but I had no clue to what it could be.

There was a soft pop from behind me," Aren't you going to open it~?"
I shrugged," Maybe…"

He hummed, eating some of the messed up cake we had brought to Mephisto. It was sweet enough to keep him busy and away from my suckers.

I sighed, grabbing Amaimons hand and using his long thumbnail to cut through the tape. He blinked at me but let me continue. I popped the box open and blinked in surprise.

It was a necklace on a long silver chain. The pendant was of clear stone, shaped in something close to a cross or a four pointed star. I held it up to eye level, looking at it curiously.
Amaimon narrows his eyes at it, mumbling under his breath.

"What was that?"

He ignored me. I huffed, putting the necklace on quietly. Although I could've sworn I had never seen the symbol before, it seem very familiar. Running a finger over its shape, I chewed on my lip. Where could it have come fro-
I yelped loudly," WHAT THE HELL!?"

Amaimon blinked innocently, my tail wrapped around his hand, his thumb nail driven through the skin. I was bleeding from it.

I growled at him, eyes flashing.

"My hand slipped."

"You're so full of it."

When I tried to tug my tail back he simple grabbed both my wrists, yanking me into his lap. My eyes went wide, meeting his teal colored orbs. We stayed that way for a moment in silence, staring at each other. Amaimon kept his tight grip on my wrists with one hand, the other still holding my tail but was also pressed against my hip.

He tilted his head, as if watching his prey.

"…..let me go."
"I want to continue what we started earlier today Ryuu."

"I don't Amaimon!"
He pouted and I had to look away. Damn him-

My body tensed as he ran his tongue along my neck. Glancing back at him, I watched as he inhaled my scent, tightening his grip on me further.

"You have nowhere to run now Ryuu, so what are you going to do now?"

My eyes narrowed quietly in thought as he pulled his head back some. I turned to look at him, our faces close. In the situation at hand, with my heart beating against my chest, I did the only thing I could.
I kissed him.

Amaimon seemed slightly taken back that I was the one to actually initiate such an intimate move. He slower smirked, kissing me back deeply, pressing me down against the mattress of my bed. A growl rumbled in my chest as I tangled my fingers in his hair, deepening the kiss.

Amaimon complied with the kiss, moving so he was directly over me. I nipped his lip again, wanting another taste of his blood. This time he growled, but let me down as I wished. While I sucked on his lip, he slide a hand up my shirt, popping off the buttons.

Too distracted to care, I closed my eyes, contently drinking his blood. Amaimon pulled away and I huffed. He smirked excitedly, digging his thumbnail into my side abruptly and dragging it down, slicing it right open.

"H-hey!"

I was ignored, Amaimon drinking the spilled blood in return. I tried to free my wrists, only earning a growl and my tail to be tugged roughly. A scowl formed on my face.

The Demon King had me completely pinned, the realization of the situation causing a blush to also appear on my face. Amaimon licked his lips clean before capturing my lips in a searing kiss. I arched my back subtly, flush against him while returning the kiss.

He was a bastard….but he was MY bastard.

Terribly sorry for the EXTREMELY long wait for an update! I could give ezcuses, but ya know, I won't bored you. I will try to work on an update more quickly, but busy life! I'll try tho!
