Chapter 12
Calliope Torres felt like she was on an all time high. She felt like she couldn't get any happier than she already was. It was as if her life was finally perfect and everything was into place. Ever since she was a little girl, she had dreamed of having the perfect wedding where her father would walk her down the aisle and where she'd be surrounded by the people she loved most. She smiled when she remembered when she was ten, she used to make Mark Sloan play wedding with her. When she moved to get up from the bed, she released a gasp as she looked at the ring that now adorned her ring finger. She quickly turned to notice Arizona laying next to her, propped on her elbow.
"Goodmorning Calliope, did you sleep well?"
Unable to sleep, all Callie could do was nod. She was afraid that if she spoke, she'd either cry or…cry.
Arizona got out of bed and made her way to Callie's side of the bed where she knelt on one knee. "Calliope Torres, you stole my thunder yesterday. You are a beautiful woman who deserves a beautiful proposal just like the one you gave me. You make me strong. Before I met you, I was in such a dark place. I didn't think I'd ever find the one or amount to anything more than a senator. But then… I found you and everything started to make sense. I found a piece of myself that I thought I had lost. The light in my eyes came back and I began to recognize myself again, and I don't think I'd be who I am or how I am now without you. I love you so much Calliope and I'm so excited to start a life with you. Calliope Iphigenia Torres, will you marry me?"
By the time Arizona was finished speaking, Callie was an emotional water bag. They were both crying, but Callie couldn't suppress the tears that came streaming down her face. All she could do was nod, she was crying so hard. It wasn't a proposal that was fancy like hers, but it was perfect in every way.
Arizona brought the two together with a heated, passionate kiss that left Callie breathless. "I'm so lucky to have found you."
"I feel the same exact way, fiancée. Now, what do you say we go downstairs? I made us breakfast and I don't want it to get cold."
Grand gestures made Callie fall in love with Arizona all over again, but it was the little things that made her realize why she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this woman. When she thought things couldn't get any better between them they did and she was forever grateful for that. Bring her in for another heated kiss, she led Arizona downstairs for breakfast. "I'm excited to eat mi amor, I am starving."
What Callie found was amazing. All her favorites were laid out for her. Because it was her house they'd spent the night at, she knew that Arizona made this all by herself because the chef didn't work on Saturdays. "Arizona… this is beautiful. You must've been up early making this." It was beautiful. Arizona had cooked all Callie's favorites: eggs sunny side up, toast, bacon, blueberry pancakes, and Belgian coffee. There was even an edible fruit arrangement sitting in the center of the table that Callie had been craving for weeks. "You didn't have to—" She was silenced by a pale finger to her lips.
"All I want for you to do is sit down at the table and let me serve you." Giving the Latina a peck on the lips, she then served her her breakfast and fixed herself a plate.
"When do you want to tell our parents?", Callie asked. She didn't want to rush them into telling their parents, but she was excited to freak out about it with her sister Aria.
"How about tonight? I don't have anything scheduled for tonight whereas my schedule for this coming week and the week after will be quite busy. Is that okay?"
"That's completely fine. I have to admit, I'm excited. My mother thought I was never going to get married. I remember when I first started liking you, she asked me when I was gonna get married because I'm 33." She let out a laugh because of that; it was almost as if it were a coincidence that 6 months later she got engaged.
"Calliope Torres, there was no way I wasn't going to be with. I don't know if you noticed, but you are the most beautiful, sexy, and amazing woman in the world. Letting you get away would've been the stupidest decision I had ever made." Arizona smiled with conviction while Callie only blushed and tried her best not cry. "You do know what telling our parents means our moms are going to go crazy right?"
Callie nodded her head vehemently. "Yes! I'm pretty sure our moms will have our wedding planned by the end of tonight. What time did you want to do dinner to tell them?"
"I'm not sure, how does 7 sound?"
Once they came up with the details for the dinner, Arizona went upstairs to shower while Callie called her parents to tell them about dinner.
"Hola Calliope! ¿Cómo estás, mi hija?
Callie smiled warmly at the sound of her father's voice. She talked to him at least twice a week, but the sound of her father's voice always made her feel warm inside. "Hola Papi. Estoy bien. Necesito decirlo algo. ¿Dónde está Mami?"
She heard shuffling on the other line and was then greeted by the motherly voice of Lucia Torres. "Hola Calliope. What is so important? You're not pregnant are you? Oh my gosh I'm gonna be a grandma!"
Callie couldn't help but laugh at her mother's excitement. "No Mama nothing like that. Arizona and I would like for you to come over for dinner. Arizona's parents will be there and I'm going to ask Aria to come too."
"Okay Calliope, see you then."
Arizona chose then to come down the stairs. "Okay padres, tengo que ir ahora. Adios!"
Arizona sauntered her way over to Callie, giving her open mouthed kisses on her shoulder. When she reached her neck, her tongue delved out to lick the Latina's sweet spot eliciting a moan. "Mmm Arizona…" She then sucked on her pulse point, sure to leave a mark.
Kissing her way down the Latina's neck, she lifted her shirt so she could view her perfect bra-clad breasts. Before she could devour the beautiful breasts before her, her phone rang.
"Madame president speaking.", she said, trying not to sound as aroused as she actually was.
Callie had pretty much resigned to the fact that she wasn't going to get laid right this minute. Fixing herself up, she got up and waited for Arizona to get off the phone.
"I'm sorry Calliope, they need me for a meeting about Nigeria. I will be home by 7 tonight, perhaps earlier. I love you." Giving her fiancée a lingering kiss on the lips, she made her way out of the door, angry with Nigeria. She loved her job but sometimes it interrupted her at the most inopportune moments.
With Arizona gone, Callie had no idea what to do. She wanted to wait and have engagement sex that night, so she figured she would text Aria about her plans for that night and then take a nap.
Aria! –C
It was only a few seconds later and Callie's phone beeped, signaling her sister's response. Callie simply laughed and shook her head; after all these years Aria Torres was still addicted to her cell phone and always next to it.
Yes, mi hermana? –A
Arizona and I would like to have you over for dinner tonight at 7. Mami y Papi are coming and Arizona's parents have agreed to come as well. –C
As expected, Aria's reply came almost immediately after she sent the message.
Of course Calliope! I'll bring dessert. See you then hermana. –A
Callie smiled and laid down on the couch. She had barely been able to contain her excitement last night and had barely gotten any sleep. She played with her ring until she fell into a light slumber.
Arizona Robbins was bored out of her mind. She was sitting in a conference coming up with strategic plans to combat the punishments in Nigeria. She was currently sitting with Alex Karev and members of Amnesty International to conspire a statement to release to the press. What was happening definitely upset her, but she would much rather get home to her Calliope.
"Madame President?"
She was shaken from her thoughts by the expectant voice of Alex Karev.
"Yes?"
"I was asking you about what your input was but I think we're all set now, why don't you go home to Callie." He winked at her to let her know he had everything covered and that he understood.
By the time she got out of the whitehouse and in the limo, it was 5:30. Sighing a breath of relief, she then stopped by the store to get a bottle of wine for dinner and some flowers for Callie.
Callie had just finished putting the finishing touches on dinner when Arizona walked through the door.
"Hey baby, how was your meeting?"
Arizona made a face of exhaustion when she took off her coat. "Boring." Coming into the kitchen, she kissed Callie on the lips and placed the wine in the fridge. "I got you some flowers baby."
That familiar feeling of love and admiration came flooding through Callie's insides. "I love you, thank you… I'm going to put them in some water."
Once Arizona sat in a chair on the island, Callie began to massage her shoulders. When Arizona began to moan, Aria Torres came in and ruined their moment, as usual.
"Don't have sex yet, we have to eat dinner first." Aria smiled as her sister stuck her tongue out at her. "Hola hermanas!", she moved so she could give both Arizona and Callie hugs. "I thought meeting the President would be more special but I must say I feel bad for you… dating my sister AND running the country, must be stressful."
Callie's face turned bright red. She couldn't believe Aria chose today to be a sarcastic bitch. "Aria Emilia Torres! Watch your mouth this instant!"
Aria simply shrugged her shoulders and took a seat at the dinner table. "Stop trying to be Mami. You want to be her but you can't be her."
"Who wants to be me?" Lucia Torres smiled as she entered her daughter's home. "Hola Calliope, Arizona, and Aria." She moved so she could hug Arizona, and kissed both her daughters on the cheeks.
Once everyone was at the dinner table and seemed to be settled down, Arizona began to make the announcement. She stood up and made eye contact with everyone at the table. "Calliope and I didn't ask you to come for no reason…"
Looking at Callie, she silently asked her to continue. "Arizona and I would like to tell you that we're getting married!"
The whole room erupted in squeals and exclaims of excitement. No one could be heard over Barbara Robbins' screams. By the time the excitement died down, Callie and Arizona had received more kisses and hugs than they'd given each other that entire day. They were now answering questions about their proposals to each other and passing around their rings for everyone to see.
"Calliope texted me and told me to meet her in the dining hall. I was nervous because I had just went to jewelry store and bought her my ring and I didn't have a chance to hide it because I was already late. When I got there, Calliope had this beautiful candle-lit dinner cooked for me and it was my favorite, chicken piccata. Everything tasted wonderful and she got up and I assumed that was her cue for me to leave with her but then she got down on one knee. She told me about how happy I make her and she said she couldn't live another day without being able to call me her fiancée and she asked me to marry her." By the end of her story, everyone in the room was either crying or tearing up. Even the Colonel had watering eyes.
"Arizona's proposal to me was perfect. It was so simplistic but yet so perfect at the same time. I woke up and started thinking about the night before and how I used to make Mark play wedding with me.", when the Torres' laughed in remembrance she continued, "I then felt the ring on my finger and I looked at it. It took everything in me not to scream over the beautiful ring on my finger but I was able to contain it. Arizona was next to me waiting for me to look at her. She then walked across the room and got on one knee. You all should've seen me, I was mess. She told me about how happy I make her and how I make her a better person and she asked me to marry her."
Everyone once again had started to cry. Callie and Arizona shared a chaste but passionate kiss with each other. Once everyone had finished obsessing over the couple, they left and went home.
Callie went upstairs to find Arizona in their bed, naked waiting for her. "Calliope, please come make love to me." The Latina hastily shimmied out of her clothes and climbed up the bed to lay on her fiancée. They both moaned as their naked bodies molded together.
Arizona closed the distance to connect their mouths in a passionate kiss. Callie moaning as Arizona bit her bottom lip. Arizona quickly flipped them over so she was on top and kissed her way down the Latina's jaw line and sucked her pulse point.
"Mmm Arizona." The blonde then kissed her way down to the Latina's gorgeous breasts, happy that she could finally take them into her mouth. She took one nipple into her mouth and sucked hard whilst fondling the other one. Callie's hands then tangled themselves into soft blonde curls.
Once she gave each breast equal attention, she kissed her way down to Callie's thighs, skipping her throbbing center that needed her attention. When she kissed the inside of the Latina's thigh, merely centimeters from where she was needed most, Callie let out a sigh of impatience. "Baby, tell me what you want."
"I want you to fuck me, hard."
"My pleasure." Deciding to take it slow, she licked wet, pink lips and circled the Latina's opening. The lifting of Callie's hips signaled that she needed her right then. "Arizona, please fuck me…" An expert tongue then skillfully swirled around the throbbing bud.
"Fuck!," Callie screamed and bucked her hips, causing Arizona to wrap her arms around Callie's legs to hold her down. She began flicking her clit and then sucked the erect bud into her mouth.
"Ariz-Zona! I'm coming! Shit!" Arizona plunged two fingers into the Latina, curling them instantaneously, hitting the Latina's g spot. Soon after, Callie released over her hand.
By the end, they were both exhausted and ready for bed. Callie was ready to fuck Arizona but she could see her eyes drooping. Pulling the covers over them two, she turned the light off and snuggled with her fiancée until her scent lulled her to sleep.
