Chapter 10: The Memorable Field trip (part 1)
.
.
Today is the first day of field trip. In one of the five coaches that transporting the entire first year student to their field trip destination seated first year members of Seirin basketball club.
Fukuda and Kagami sitting next to each other in the middle of playing cards game with some of their classmate.
Kawahara was busy taking picture of the view outside with his camera, he enjoyed the beauty of the nature presented before his eyes. He want to take as much picture as he can so he can show it to his family.
Meanwhile in Kuroko and Furihata seat.
"I've already told you, you shouldn't read a book in moving vehicle. Now, you got a car-sick." Kuroko sighed as he sees pale-faced Furihata can only quietly nod while gripping a plastic bag.
"I just get into the best part…I will kept thinking about it if I suddenly stop reading." Furihata replied in low-toned voice. Even though he knew he was prone to motion sickness, Furihata stubbornly tried to finished the light-novel he borrow from the library.
"Are you alright? Do you want me to get some medicine from sensei?" The blue haired male offers kindly.
"Sorry for bother you, Kuroko…" The male nodded after hearing Furihata's request and then walk toward the front where their homeroom teacher seat.
Furihata then lean toward the seat, searching for more comfortable position and close his eyes, hope it would reduce the diziness and nauseating feeling that tortured him for the last few hours.
He had hoped they would arrived at the inn as fast as possible so he can get a good long night rest so he can join in the tour tomorrow feeling ready and refreshed.
"Furihata-kun, are you alright?" A gentle and feminine voice with slightly worried tone calling his name makes Furihata groan and opening his eyes. He just tried to fell asleep before the sudden iterruption. He is surprise by Tanimura apperance before him.
"Ta-Tanimura-san!" Furihata instinctively backing away when she moves closer.
"You seems a little pale, are you alright?" Asked the concerned girl seems really worried. Seeing her expression filled Furihata with guilt knowing he was not worthy of her attention since he couldn't properly accept her feelings.
"I-It's nothing… it just a motion sickness. You don't have to worry." Furihata shakes his head and gently smiled to calm her.
"Is that so? Thank goodness…" Tanimura place her hand in front of her chest and take a relief breath.
"Excuse me."
"Ah!" Kuroko's monotone voice startle Tanimura, making her jumped from her seat.
"I'm sorry, am I disrupt your conversation? I'm willing to change seat if you want." Kuroko with his gentleman attitude always know how to treat a lady. He immediately realize Tanimura's desire even though she didn't say a word about it. she had been staring at their seat since they get on the coaches.
Maybe because Kuroko was sitting besides Furihata makes her hesitate to greet the brown haired male.
"Eh? No…I…"
"Kuroko! Thank you for bring me the medicine." Furihata intervene before Tanimura had a chance to say anything.
He then turn at the girl and flashed her a tired smile. 'I'm sorry Tanimura-san…I'm a little tired, I want to get some rest. How about we continue this at the inn?"
Tanimura turn silent for a moment before finally nod. She somehow understand Furihata doesn't want to be disturbed by unnecessary question right now. "T-then…I'll return to my seat."
Kuroko can only sent a sympathetic glance at her figure as she walk away toward her group of friends.
"I never thought, you can be quite cold treating that girl, Furihata-kun." Said the blue haired male as he took a seat besides his teammate.
"It's not like that, I just think I shouldn't give her too much hope more than this." Furihata shakes his head. "I don't want to hurt her if I have to give her an answer one day."
"So you decide to reject her?"
"…"
Furihata's face turn grimm, he doesn't seem want to talk about that.
"It's really a pity, Tanimura Kyoko-san is really a good girl. I really think you two would make a compatible pair."
"I wonder…how it really will become if it can become reality…" Kuroko about to asks what Furihata's statement meant but abruptly halted when Kagami suddenly appear besides him.
"Kuroko! Let's join in Shiritori! The more the merrier!" The redhead said as he pulled Kuroko's hand, knowing Kagami he wouldn't take a 'no' for an answer.
"Kagami-kun," Kuroko turn at Furihata as if asking is it alright to leave the brunette like that.
"How about you Furihata? Do you also want to join in?"
"Nah, I'd pass this time. I've got a motion sickness…"
"Alright, just make sure you got enough rest, ok?" Kagami said before dragged his shadow away and join in with the others.
Furihata take a deep breath. Finally no one bother him anymore. He then close his eyes, trying to relax and fell asleep while waiting for their bus to reach their destination.
.
.
The sun is almost set when they finally arrive at the Ryokan in Kyoto. All students clearly tired after the long trip from Tokyo to Kyoto, they were rejoicing as their following their assigned group to their room.
"Haah, we finally arrive at the inn, I want to get some rest." Furihata sigh when his group finally reached their room.
"Hmm? You don't want to join us in the onsen? The others want to take a bath you know." Kawahara asks when Furihata didn't prepare his bathing equipment. Kagami, Fukuda and Kuroko already left the room.
"I'll join you tomorrow, I still feel a little dizzy." Even though is not as bad as before, he afraid it would get worse if he soaked too long in the hotspring. And also there are many students that join in, it would be too crowded for him to take.
"Alright then, if you want feel free to join us in dinner time." Kawahara remind him before he exited the room.
"Okay!" Furihata responded just before his friend leave the room.
After he is the only one lfet behind in the room, Furihata then look around to get a good look at the room that going to be his shelter for a few days onward. It had tatami floor where they place the futon bed which would be prepared after supper.
There are a small table in the middle of the room with pillow couches neatly arranged. It's a modern facilities with traditional design inn.
He then walks over toward the window and slide it open. The brunette shivered a little when he feels a cool evening breeze from outside.
The ryokan was built near an empty land covered with trees. It seems like it were purposedly planted there.
From afar he can see the scenery of Kyoto buildings shimmering in light. From the place he stand, he can heard the roar of countless vehicles in the main road.
The boisterous noise filled the hall a minutes ago had died down. seems like most of the student already head to the bath Furihata thought as he pull out a piece of folded paper from his pocket.
It's contain the field trip schedule start from tomorrow. He wonder what souvenirs he should get for his family.
Hmm…maybe some Kyoto's traditional sweets or lucky charm from a temple didn't sounds bad… He decided and pull out his cell phone, typing a short message to inform his family he was already arrived sound and safe in Kyoto.
"That's right, while I'm here maybe I should infrom Akashi!" Furihata moves his fingers as he typed a message to the redhead captain. He smiled a little after he press the send button.
Though I think he wouldn't be surprise since Kuroko probably already told him beforehand… Furihata chuckled as the thought crossed his mind. Kagami seems pretty eager to visit Rakuzan, he won't miss such rare opportunity. He and Kuroko would find a way to ditch the tour if it's not tomorrow then they probably tried it the day after tomorrow.
Furihata slightly startle when he heard his cellphone ringtone suddenly rang. He blinked once to make sure he didn't misread the caller id.
Then with slightly trembling finger he pressed accept call.
[Good evening Kōki, I hope I didn't bother you by suddenly calling you at this hour.]
After he heard Akashi sounds from the other line, Furihata is now 100% percent sure the one that called him was indeed Akashi Seijūrō.
"It's fine, just a little surprise…by the way is it something the matter?"
[I have to admit I am a little taken by surprise when I receive your message.]
"Eh? You haven't heard from Kuroko?" Furihata finds it odd that Kuroko haven't told Akashi yet but then he remembered about Kagami's plan. "Ah, I guess they probably want to keep it secret so they can give you a surprise visit."
A chuckles can be heard from the other line before Akashi replied. Well, I somehow can predicted that. [They must've tried to surprise me]
Before Furihata had a chance to reply, Akashi already continue.
[Although I hope you would've told me few days earlier so I can rearangge my schedule.]
"Eh, i-it's fine, I don't want to bother you! Besides we only stay for four days." Furihata tried to reassure him. "Also, Kagami and Kuroko would definetely going to visit you so you can meet with th…"
A sound of sigh from the other line make Furihata stopped in the middle of his sentences.
"A-Akashi-san…?"
[Not only Kuroko and Kagami…] A short pause. [ I also want to see you…]
That statement had literally takes Furihata breath away, his heart skipped beat and he felt as if cupid arrow pierce through them.
"Ah, i-is that so?"
Even though is sounds monotone, Furihata actually tried to suppress the burst of happiness inside.
A-A-Akashi want to meet with me?! He wanted to spare some time just to meet with me?!
[Four days huh… ] Akashi wondering for awhile, estimated the time to match with his schedule. [Perhaps we may meet the day after tomorrow. Where would your destination be at your third day?]
"Eh? I-it's Kiyomizudera temple…" Furihata answered as he look at the paper sheet in his hand.
[Hmm…how long will you be there?]
"Umm…around 6 hours?...from eleven a.m until five p.m before we return to the inn."
[Then I will pass by that area around that time. I'll give you a call when I see you.]
"E, eh?" He serious? Akashi seriously would go through that trouble just to meet with him?! Furihata is really happy as countless flower bloomed inside his heart. He really looking forward for the day after tomorrow.
At least they had chance to meet!
[I'll see you later, then.]
"Ah! Wa-wait Akashi!"
[Yes?]
"Ano…em…T-thank you for trying to make time to see me…I mean, I know you really busy and all, so…"
[I don't need a reason to meet with friend right? I just want to see you.]
"Then, go-good bye."
There are a clicked sound when Akashi cut off the line and after a few minutes Furihata still didn't move from his place still holding his cellphone besides his ear.
Akashi thought of him as friend. He felt happy but also a bit disappointed at the same time.
Furihata was thrilled, Akashi Seijūrō acknowledge someone like him as friend. for him it was an honour, because it mean he was no longer in the line of people that can only watch him from afar.
But at the same time, that meant Akashi would never acknowledge him as more than friend.
Furihata despise that part of him that felt disappointed because it means he is a selfish person that expecting something that beyond his reach.
"Hmm? You're still here Furihata?" Kagami's voice snapped Furihata from his thought and the brunette almost dropped his cellphone in the process. He turn and find the redhead drape in azure coloured Yukata bathrobe carrying their blue haired team mate on his back.
"Kagami and…uwa! What happen to Kuroko?!" Furihata walks over and show his concern at the limp blunette.
"Ah? this? He was soaked too long in the bath." Kagami explained. He must've can't hold the heat especially with so many people in the bath.
Furihata helped as he spread one of the futon from inside the drawer on the floor and helped Kagami put Kuroko down.
"By the way, the dinner's ready, the others already go to the dining room. Don't you want to join them?" Kagami asks.
"What about you guys?" Furihata retort with question. He wouldn't be able to left them like this.
"I will bring his share later."
"Thank you, sorry for bothering you Kagami-kun." Kuroko said in small voice.
"Idiot, I already told you to be careful to not soak in the bath too long." Kagami scold him as he place a wet piece of cloth at Kuroko's forehead make the blunette sigh and squirm at the cool sensation. "Just get some rest until I got back."
Even at such small gesture, Furihata can see the deep affection shared between the two. Kagami and Kuroko was the first couple that made him realise that romantic relationship between male is real and possible.
"I will go with you to the dining room. Let's go together." Furihata offered and Kagami nod in approval.
The moment they arrive at the dining room, it was already crowded with all first year student. They were already enjoyed the warm served meal from the inn. Kagami looking around the room trying to find his team mates until he heard Fukuda voice calling them from one of the table.
"Kagami, Furihata, over here!" Fukuda wave at them when they walk toward the table. Kagami immediately sit down and nibble on the food while Furihata nod in gratitude at Kawahara and Fukuda for save them a seat.
"By the way how's Kuroko? He scares all of us when he suddenly drown while soaked in hotspring." Kawahara asks, he slightly concern at the blue haired male condition.
"He seems alright, just need some rest." Furihata said before place his hand together and muttered 'Itadakimasu' before start eating his meal.
"Ah, we're going to Arashiyama tomorrow didn't we?" One of their classmate start a conversation with Kawahara.
"Yes! I can't forget to recharge my camera tonight! I want to take as much picture as I can tomorrow!" Kawahara exclaimed filled with enthusiasm.
"Eeh…if your camera memory card is full in first day how about the remaining field trip days?" asks the male with confused tone.
"Fufufu, I've already guess that far…" Kawahara said with smug smile. "That's why I have already bring some extra memory card with me!"
"Then can I have some picture? I want to show it to my younger brothers."
"No problem!"
"Hei, Kawahara, how about the five of us take a picture besides the lake tomorrow and sent it to the senpai?" Fukuda suggest.
"Great idea! I will send some scenery picture as well, Mitobe-senpai asks me before we left."
Kagami and Furihata were the only one that seems uninterested to join in their friends conversation and decide to quietly finish their meal. Furihata haven't even finished his first bowl of rice while Kagami already wolfing down countless bowl judging from the stack of empty bowl besides the redhead.
"Kagami are you planning to ditch the tour tomorrow and go to Rakuzan with Kuroko?" The sudden question make Kagami stopped moving his chopstick and raise his head from the bowl of rice.
"I can't say for sure, It's all depend on Kuroko." He shrugs. "I need his misdirection overflow if I want to get pass the teacher wihout any of them notice me."
"Well, you're attract too much attention. People will definetely realize the moment you were gone." Furihata laugh at the thought of how the teachers searching all over for Kagami if he decide to ditch the tour.
"It would get worse if they involve police officer. You'll become one-day-fugitive in Kyoto."
"We'll get back to the inn before the curvew!" Kagami scowl and continue to finish his meal.
"Oh, that's right, Furihata what about we rent a boat in Arashiyama tomorrow? One boat can contain to three or four people." Kawahara asks just before Furihata hand a chance to move his chopstick.
"Boat? Sounds fun." Furihata nodded, it doesn't sounds like a bad idea. He also never ride a boat before.
"Then it decided! Let's take a picture on the boat tomorrow!" Fukuda sounds estatic as he pumped a fist upward.
"Basketball team is really close huh? If it were me, I prefer to ride a boat with a girl in a date. What's the point riding it with other guys?" one of their friend said while snickered at their enthusiasm.
"Well…that's right…"
"We looks like a pathetic single boys that doesn't even had one female friend…"
Fukuda and Kawahara immediately feel down hearing that comment while Furihata can only give them a sympathetic glance.
.
.
The next day
The first year student seems pretty excited when they finally arrived at their first field trip destination site. Arashiyama park. Many student already take a picture of the station but some take a photo group and selfie.
They were then assembled at the front of Arashiyama station to hear the short announcement from the responsible teacher before they're start the tour.
"Alright! You're free to look arund, taking picture or get an information about this site. Just don't go too far and make sure not to separated from your group! You understand?!"
Some student and their group begin their exploration around the site as they're walk toward a small path from the station they arrive at the front garden of Tenryūji temple.
"It's really big…" Chirping sound of astonishment can be heard from one of the student that gawking at the building in awe.
"How many basketball court do you think would fit in here?" Kagami muttered while put his finger under his chin, he seems seriously tried to estimate.
"Kagami is the only one that can relate basketball with one of the most famous temple in Japan history." Fukuda shakes his head as reaction of Kagami's comment.
"This temple was founded by the first Muromachi shogun, Ashikaga Takauji in the year 1339 under the direct proposal of priest Muso Soseki for estabilished a temple for the late emperor Go-Daigo." Kuroko suddenly blurted. "It was finally registered as one of the historic monument of ancient Kyoto by UNESCO world heritage site in 1994."
"Historically estabilished as the first Zen temple in Japan and at known as the most famous Zen temple in western part of Japan." Kuroko ended his explanation and satisfied at the wide-eye look he receive from Kagami and Fukuda.
"Amazing! You know that much!" Fukuda said brimming with amazement.
Kuroko gives a subtle but proud smile at the praise. "I've already done a little research before I come here."
Meanwhile Furihata were accompany Kawahara taking some picture around the temple garden.
"This garden layout is really pretty!" Kawahara was astounded by the beauty of the garden landscape. It had a relatively small pond called sogen-chi and also featuring a famous rock arrangement located along it's western shore.
"Kawahara, do you know the one that designed this garden layout was priest Muso Sōseki, one of the most famous and renowed Zen priest at that time." Furihata explain as they take a stroll along the garden.
"Really? That person really amazing!"
"Also, unlike the temple buildings, this garden actually survived the centuries while stayed in it's original form." Furihata added the fact while nod in amazement.
"Ah, what is the rock clusters over there?" The male asks as he pointed at the stack of stone arranged neatly besides the pond. it looks a lot like a stone bridge.
"That is Ishigumi, the first rock arrangement added as garden decoration in Japan."
"The first? Then it's the oldest?" Kawahara raised an eyebrow.
"You may say it like that."
After they finished look around the Tenryū-ji temple, the group proceed to their next destination. The famous Arashiyama bamboo grooves.
"Uwaa, so this is the Arashiyama bamboo grooves? How beautiful!" cried group of girls that walked through the road.
Behind them Furihata and Fukuda walk is silent with peaceful face, thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of the grooves. Arashiyama bamboo grooves is a 200 metre walking paths that cut through the bamboo grooves, it's excelent for nice relaxing walk. The grooves was pretty, especially when there is a light wind and the tall bamboo stalks sway gently back and forth.
"What a peaceful place…I want to be in here forever." Fukuda starts.
"It feels like we were stepped in a different world." Furihata add.
"If only we can stop the time." Both of them say at the same time before let out a relief sigh.
Kawahara still busy taking picture behind them.
"I don't understand what so good about this place." Kagami muttered harshly as he put his hand behind his head as he strolled through the grooves with annoyed expression.
"Kagami-kun isn't sensitive enough so you unable to appreciate the beauty of the nature."
"Shut up! I just think it's boring to stroll over some bamboo grooves! If it only like this, I always jogging by myself through park every morning!" He snapped at the poker faced blunette besides him.
"Furihata, Fukuda! Look over here!" The two look over at the source of Kawahara sound and a second later they can heard a snap sound of camera.
"Aaah! Why you already take the picture?! I haven't put my best pose yet!" Fukuda whine when he realize Kawahara already taking picture of them without their consent.
"Because I want to take your natural expression," Kawahara said with a huge grin before changing his target at Kagami and Kuroko.
"He really likes taking picture huh…" Fukuda can only shakes head seeing Kawahara enthusiasm.
"Well, it's a waste not to take picture after we came all the way here." Furihata said while laughing.
The group then followed the path uphill until they come to T-intersection. It was near a small narrow path that lead to entry point of the two-hectare former estate of Denjiro Okochi, one of the Japan famous silent film star. The residence known as Okochi sanso where they get a wonderful view of Mountain Ogura.
"Ah, finally we arrive at Nonomiya shrine!" Furihata shouted when he saw their next destination. Nonomiya shrine is a small shinto shrine surrounded by forest.
"This place…it mentioned in famous Hikaru Genji tale of Murasaki Shikibu, isn't?" Kawahara said as he remembered reading that familiar name in some part of the story.
"Yep, it was the place where Genji visiting Rokujō Miyasundokoro when she stay here together with her daughter whom had been appointed as Ise priestess." Furihata make a clear explanation about the specific part where Nonomiya shrine mentioned in the tale.
"In the Heian period, a selected imperial princesses stayed in Nonomiya shrine for a year or more to purify themselves before becoming a priestess as the representatives of the imperial family at the Ise shrine." Kuroko join in the conversation and explain the origin of Nonomiya shrine.
"Shrine again? Just how much left we need to visit before we can go back?" Kagami groaned, he clearly can't follow the conversation between these book worm at all. All they been visiting were temple and shrine, of course it would be pretty boring for someone like Kagami.
"I've already told you, Kyoto only filled with temple and shrine it's so typical. Also it's exhausting since we have to walk from one temple to another." Fukuda begin to complain. His legs starting to going numb.
"Well, I think we're going to visit Gio-ji temple, Atago, Daikaku-ji and…"
"Wait! Wait! Do you expect me to tagging along to visit those temple?! I'm hungry and bored! I want to go to one of the teahouse!" Kagami cut Furihata before he had a chance to finish the list and expect them to fulfill his demand.
Kuroko open the Arashiyama map and turn at his team mates saying. "It can't be helped, I guess there are some teahouse and café on the way through Adashino temple. Let's have some rest, I also feel tired from walking."
"Then, let's go." All of them nod at the same time.
.
.
"Aaah! It feels like I come back to life!" Fukuda exhale after he gulped down the cold soda drink he order. He feels thoroughly refreshed after they decide to have a rest in one of the traditional tea house in Saga-Torīmoto.
"After this I want to take a picture of the famous thousand of stone Buddhist statue at Adashino." Kawahara already decide his next destination.
His statement immdiately make Furihata's expression turn pale.
"You…you sure about that?" The brunette seems absolute terrifying at the idea.
"Of course, why?" Kawahara was confused by Furihata reaction.
"Kawahara-kun." Kuroko begin his explanation since the brunette doesn't want to say anything.
"Do you know those stone statue was built as cemetery for those who died and left in there." Kuroko's word make everyone in the table turn silent and a cold sweat running down their faces.
"If you're luckly enough, you might get a ghost picture." Kuroko end his explanation and calmly took a sip of his tea.
Adashino Nenbutsu-ji was a buddhist temple that famous for it's thousand stone buddhist statue. The stone was build and dedicated for the souls of the dead during the well-known 'Sento-Kuyo' a ceremony dedicated to commemorate all of the unknown corpses that left there.
"I-I think I'll pass for this one." Kawahara shakes his head and said in small almost inaudible voice.
"I also feel a little fed up seeing temple all the way here, how about we're go sight seeing at Iwatayama park? I want to take a picture of those monkeys." Kawahara immediately changes his destination.
"I don't want to go, we'll be waiting here until you finish taking a walk. Na, Kagami?" Fukuda turn at Kagami.
"Ng, I haven't got all the food I order yet." Kagami said while munching some dango. There are plates filled wih traditional sweets like Ohagi, isomaki, tokoroten, anmitsu and wagashi dango around him.
Just how many do you plan to eat?! Kawahara, Fukuda and Furihata thought at the same time. Kagami apetite as amazing as always.
"Then, how about you Kuroko?" Kawahara turn at the blunette.
"I think I also want to stay here." He answered after he put his tea mug at the table.
"Alright then, we'll continue the tour, let's meet at Togetsu-kyo bridge later." After they agree on where they would've meet up, Furihata and Kawahara continue the tour leaving the other three behind.
.
.
After buying the ticket and bought a bag of pet food filled with chestnut and peanuts Furihata and Kawahara along with some other students and tourists walks until they reach the top where an attendant lead them a way into a small hut with wire fenc covering windows.
From inside there, Furihata and Kawahara can see a tons of monkeys scatter around out there. The animals suddenly aware by the arrival of the tourists (a.k.a food giver) and rushed as fast as they can to take the food offered by the tourists.
Kawahara didn't miss the opportunity to take a picture when one of the monkey took a food out of Furihata's hand. They seems already used around strangers since they're pretty much calm while munching their food even under the countless snap sound of camera.
"Look at the one over there! How cute!" Kawahara pointing at one of the female monkey carrying her cub.
The said monkey walked toward Kawahara and takes the food from his hand before walk back toward her group.
A small smile appear in Furihata's face when he saw Kawahara brimming with awe as he examining the monkeys adorable behavior. He pull his cellphone out of his pocket when he felt it vibrate because of incoming message.
"Furihata. Look at here! Those monkey cubs are…" Kawahara stopped in the middle of his sentences when he saw Furihata face's brighten up as the brunette read the message in his cellphone.
"Y-yes? What is it Kawahara?" Furihata quickly avert his gaze from his cellphone and turn at his friend.
Kawahara already back at taking picture of the monkey when Furihata walk closer to him.
"That was…mail from Akashi isn't?" Kawahara said and a gasp can be heard from Furihata, confirmed his deduction.
"Eh?! H-how did you know?" The brunette can't seem to hide his shock.
"It's easy to guess from your expression." Kawahara answered without spare a glance at him.
"Honestly, all of this feels strange…" Kawahara avert his gaze downward. "About what you said to me and Fukuda that time…it felt surreal…bizzare…"
"Maybe it still hard for us to accept it…" Furihata that they knew from the first term when they first met was someone that struggling to get a girlfriend. He even strive to become the best in one thing (which he apparently choose basketball) only so the girl he likes would consider his confession.
It's unbelievable that Furihata Kōki suddenly said he hold a feelings for a certain redhead named Akashi. That terrifying Akashi Seijūrō, the very same person that capable to become captain of the generation of miracle.
He remembered his last encounter with Akashi in hospital. "Are the two of you…starting to bond after that incident?"
"Well…" Furihata scratches his head as he nervously replied. "We've met a few times and I guess I begin to know him more than before."
"What exactly that make Akashi different from the others?" Akashi indeed 'different' from others. What was Kawahara asking was what the difference between him and the other males in Furihata eyes.
"Kawahara, I won't say a cliché line from chick flick like ' love doesn't need a reason' but if there is a reason even I want to know." Furihata said, end the stretching silent between them.
"Even I don't know since when I look at him differently or since when this feelings grow." He took a deep sigh and continue. "One thing I know for sure, this feeling is not something I can control."
.
.
Meanwhile Kagami, Kuroko and Fukuda group is on the way to the bridge but under Kuroko's request they decide to take a small tour at Daikaku-ji temple.
Kuroko and Fukuda were in the room of 'Botan-no-ma' in english it called 'peony room' because on the sliding door there are painting of peonies. The original painting, important cultural properties painted by Kano Sanraku.
The other painting by the same painter can also be found in Yanagimatsu-no-ma (willow-pine room) and Kobai-no-ma (Red plum-blossom room)
While Kagami was outside in the hallway outside of the room.
"It's trulya beautiful painting. It's too bad Kawahara didn't come here, he must've wanted to take a picture of this painting." Fukuda muttered, mesmerized by the breath-taking view.
"Pretty isn't? this is an original work of Kano Sanraku and consider to be highly valuable as historical property." Kuroko watched the raven haired male touched the painting with his finger tips out of curiosity.
"There is something that bothering Furihata-kun, no?" Fukuda blinked hearing the unexpected question from Kuroko as he turn at the blunette to make sure he didn't misheard the question.
"You also aware of that, didn't you Fukuda-kun?"
Fukuda avert his glance from Kuroko and move one step backward when he realize how close they were. At this range, Kuroko probably able to feel his uneasiness.
"W-what do you mean?"
"I think Furihata-kun tried to put some distance between him and Tanimura-san." Kuroko sharp stare kind of make Fukuda's back hair stand in fright. He really is perceptive despite how laid back he looks. "I think that's kind of weird…since I'm pretty sure he was interested knowing Tanimura-san before.'
"Eh? Is that so? I didn't notice that at all." Fukuda tried to crack a laugh, hoping Kuroko won't notice such obvious lie. He afraid he would've blurted Akashi name by accident.
"You and kawahara-kun thought they were going out with each other didn't you?" Kuroko add. He normaly wouldn't want to get involved in another person problem but seeing the suddent change of his three tema mates behavior he can't help but feel concerned.
Something obviously had happened between the three of them!
"Well…Furihata already straightened the misunderstanding between us." Furihata force to sounds casual but failed horribly.
"You were closer with Furihata-kun, I assume you would know something." The blunette stating out the matter-of-fact.
There is no way he can say something like 'Ehehehe, actually Furihata is fall head over heels with your ex-captain in Teiko if you want to know.'
Furihata can't imagine Kuroko's expression if he heard that.
"Actually…Furihata…he…is kind of seeing someone else right now." There is no use lying. Also Fukuda didn't think it would be a problem as long as he didn't said the identity of the person. Kuroko wouldn't try to pry further, he is not someone that wanted to involve in other person affair without being asked to.
Kuroko paused a bit before muttered. "Is that so…that's explain everything."
"However…I'm kind of feel bad about Tanimura-san. She truly is a good girl."
"It's really a pity! Tanimura-san is such a good person! I really think Furihata make a stupid decision rejecting her!" Fukuda nod, approving Kuroko's opinion.
He turn silent when Akashi figure appear inside his mind.
"To be honest…I can't understand the reason Furihata end up liking someone like that…" He started as he cast his gaze down. "They only met a few times, and also that person is someone that really different from Furihata…they were not standing on the same ground from the first!"
Fukuda's tone increasing.
"Only dissapointment and heartbreak that you can expect from one sided love like that!" He have to hold himself not to let himself lose control of his emotion and destroyed one of the historical valuable treasure before him.
Kuroko waiting until Fukuda fnish his words. More or less he can somehow understand, Fukuda wish Furihata wouldn't be hurt by one sided love once again. He doesn't want to see his friend in such devastated state once more.
"But if Furihata-kun seriously like that person isn't a friend job to support him through thick and thin?"
Hearing that comment, Furihata turn silent and closed his eyes. Kuroko is right, he suppose to give Furihata support when he needed it the most. Aren't they friend?
"But still, he would've been better end with Tanimura-san. The one that truly care and appreciate him!" Fukuda can't help when the word leaves his mouth.
It's frustating to see Furihata can only watch Akashi from afar forever. A tragic story of one sided love indeed.
"You're a good friend Fukuda-kun," Fukuda slowly stares at Kuroko and find him smiling gently at him. The smiles that rarely shown even in the stoic male face with Kagami by his side. "You really care about Furihata-kun."
"Fu-Furihata is my friend, isn't that understandable that I care of him?" Fukuda tried to hide the blush that creep on his face. It's embarassing but he had to admit that Kuroko's right. He does care of Furihata and didn't want to see the brunette make a mistakes.
"But…that was Furihata's own choice. He realize the consequences and still decide to like that person. The one that decide It was Furihata-kun himself didn't he?"
Before Fukuda had a chance to reply, Kagami suddenly walk into the room and called them over.
"Oh, there you guys are. I've got mail from Kawahara, he said they already waiting for us in the bridge."
When they group finally reunite, it was already evening and the field trip almost over, time to get back to the inn so they didn't have time to rent a boat like they planned yesterday. Although most of them are satisfied the day was over and they finally had a chance to get some rest before they start another field trip day.

A/N:
I'm sorry this taken awhile for me to upload this fic. It just I'm kind of addicted playing Tenipuri Gakuensai no Ouji-sama dating sim. I was curious to find out every character route event. ^^
And also I was researching about Kyoto famous traveling visit place. I've only learn the information from internet, I'm sorry if there are mistakes. Since this is a field trip I think it's important to explain a little information about the places they're visiting.
Kin-chan and Tai-chan can be such adorable baby brother, I've got a strong instinct to become an older sister figure to them ^w^
After I finished it I somehow become TezuFuji and AkuDan shipper, also kind of MomoRyo and KabAto shipper (This two because of Doujinshi) maybe also golden pair and silver pair.
I notice the popular pair in Tenipuri is Golden pair, Alpha pair and Perfect pair.
P.s: Random question, what do you think about Naruto's ending?
P.s.s to tell you the truth, I still think all of this escalate too quickly…
