The detour

Stefan had been driving for five hours now. He kept thinking about if it was right for not telling the others, but he kept trying to convince himself it would be better to find out for himself before worrying the others. He was doing the kindest thing. Still who sent that note. Were they an honest person or not?

Stefan was nervous. What if Hayley and Tyler had set him up in a trap, and Caroline wasn't actually there. However, he knew he was being silly. When it come to Caroline, he knew Tyler wasn't joking. He had to go. He was the only one, due to the fact Caroline wasn't with them, who Klaus would even remotely trust. But still, what if Klaus didn't... what if Klaus killed him there and then. Stefan knew the others wouldn't like it, but he could not contact them until he had Klaus' trust. He knew that for the first few days he would be under constant surveillance. One tiny slip up would give the game away, and it could actually be a matter of a life and death. He had discovered about what happened when Klaus' hybrids had tried to go behind his back. He hoped that Caroline was there, just so there would be some point in this potential suicide mission.

Then it struck him. Stefan knew who sent the note.

Rebekah had already gone to bed, and now Caroline was alone in the living room. However, before she knew it she was fast asleep.

The next thing Caroline remembered was being carried upstairs to bed by Nik. This had happened lots before. However, it was the first time it had happened here. As usual Klaus placed Caroline into his bed and made his way to the sofa. However, before he could leave the room. He heard Caroline's angelic voice. "Stay with me..."

"Pardon, love. Are you alright?"

"It's your bed Klaus. Stay. I don't mind"

Klaus couldn't believe what he was hearing. His Caroline actually wanted him near. He climbed into bed next to Caroline, and put his arm around her. She snuggled her head into his chest.

After Klaus thought Caroline had fallen asleep. He gently kissed her forehead to discover she still was not asleep. He prepared himself to be slapped in the face and the old 'I have a boyfriend' lecture. So therefore he was extremely surprised by the actual response he got.

Caroline gazed dreamily into Klaus' eyes and before Klaus could stop himself he leaned in closer and placed his lips gently on to hers. He would of been a gentlemen and pulled away but Caroline placed her arms around him and began to kiss back. Klaus was over the moon she was finally kissing him. She was absolutely stunning. The kiss began to gain a lot more passion as Klaus slipped his tongue into her mouth to have her accept.

After a couple of minutes of snogging Klaus pulled away and started trailing kisses down her neck.

"Bite me" she said hungrily, her eyes full of desire.

"I will hurt you. Hybrid remember?"

"Not if I bite you back."

Was Caroline actually suggesting what he thought. He didn't want to seem as he was pressuring her into it. Just the other week she could not stand him.

"Are you sure?" he asked

"I'm sure" she replied seductively, her eyes full of passion.

Stefan knew he shouldn't have made this detour, but he had to see if it was her who had sent the note.

He knew it was in her capabilities. I mean she was always trying to stir up trouble. However, it had been a while since anyone had heard from her. So was she trying to stay on the down low. However, knowing her there was an ulterior motif, and besides she may know a bit more stuff to give Stefan an idea about what he is dealing with.

He told Elena that he was making a little detour, so they would not worry... too much. Luckily, finding her was not as diffacult as he thought. However, it was still a pain. He rang the doorbell.

"Hello Katherine... Elijah?"

Rebekah awoke to Nate's incessant crying, so she quickly fed him, and went to go find her annoying brother and Caroline to see why they had not yet responded.

She burst into Nik's room to find a surprise. Caroline and Klaus were snuggled under the sheets. She was going to wake them, but instead decided to leave them be. She looked at Nate and rolled her eyes to recieve a smile back.

So how will Caroline react in the morning? What is Elijah doing around Katherine's? What made Caroline change their mind? How will Stefan respond when he arrive's? How did Bonnie respond?
