Hey, guys! Sorry for the late chapter! I had a writer's block. I hope you enjoy this chapter, though!

Enjoy!

Runningpelt's POV

I sat outside the nursery. Cloudleaf had already passed out catmint. It had been three moons since the battle with ShadowClan. Skykit was six moons old now. Breezecloud was on a hunting patrol. Rabbitflight was with Skykit.

"This is how you stalk a rabbit," Rabbitflight mewed, slipping into a tight hunting crouch and carefully padding around the clearing. Skykit crouched down, front legs underneath her, hindlegs tight beneath her. She slowly started to pad around, but she stepped on a piece of heather and her steps were uncontrolled.

I watched Rabbitflight and Skykit, wondering when Skykit would get apprenticed and who would be her mentor.

"Did I do it right," Skykit asked enthusiastically. A breeze flew by, and a scent hit my nose. The hunting patrol was back!

"Breezecloud!" Skykit leaped up when she saw him, and she leaped onto him, making him drop his rabbit. He purred.

"Easy now, Skykit," He mewed. I stalked over to him.

"Breezecloud," I whispered. "Our kit is turning into a tiny hunter." Breezecloud purred more at this.

"I am not tiny!" Skykit, who over heard, defended herself.

"Of course you aren't," I assured her. When Skykit raced off again, I mewed, "But she sure can act like she is."

"Yes, she can," Breezecloud murmured. "New-leaf is coming. I saw new plants starting to grow."

"That's wonderful!" I exclaimed as we started padding over to the fresh-kill pile. We took a rabbit to share. "New-leaf is going to be great!"

"Let all cats old enough to run across the moor gather for a Clan meeting!" I heard Ravenstar. I was franticly washing Skykit, who was squirming under my tongue.

"Stop it," Skykit whined.

"There!" I finished washing Skykit, and she raced to get under the Tallrock. I gleamed with pride as I went to sit next to Breezecloud.

"Skykit, from the moment on until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Skypaw. Your mentor will be Swiftsong. Swiftsong, you are loyal and intelligent. I hope you pass down these qualities down to Skypaw." Ravenstar yowled.

"I'll do my best, Ravenstar," Swiftsong promised. As Swiftsong touched noses with her apprentice, the whole Clan started to call out Skypaw's name.

"Skypaw! Skypaw! Skypaw!" The Clan burst into yowls of applause, calling out Skypaw's name. I felt a rush of pride swarm me. I purred. As the Clan drifted away, Skypaw came bounding up to us.

"I'm an apprentice at last!" Skypaw exclaimed happily.

"Yes, you are," Breezecloud purred.

"Congratulations!" I mewed loudly. Skypaw bounced a little, and then Swiftsong called her name.

"You better go," Breezecloud murmured.

"You're right," Skypaw raced away to her mentor, and Shorttail started sending out patrols.

"Cedarfall, Eaglepaw, Ambertail, and Gorsepaw. You will patrol the RiverClan border. Runningpelt and Rabbitflight, you two will go hunting." Shorttail mewed. Cedarfall rounded up her cats and Rabbitflight started padding towards me.

"Good luck," Breezecloud mewed as I went to go meet Rabbitflight. I nodded and said a "You too" and started towards Rabbitflight again. When I got there, he nodded and raced off. I took off after him.

I raced over the moor, jaws parted to pick up any scent of prey. A familiar scent of rabbit caught my nose, and Rabbitflight and I turned to follow the scent, slowing down as the got closer.

I glanced sideways at Rabbitflight, and he flicked his tail for me to get behind the rabbit. I shifted in the tall grass and slipped away, catching a glimpse of the rabbit's black-and-white pelt. I finally stopped behind the rabbit and saw Rabbitflight ready to catch the rabbit on the opposite side.

I took a deep breath and ran towards the rabbit. The rabbit jumped up in surprise and ran towards Rabbitflight. At the last moment, Rabbitflight jumped out of his hiding place and onto the rabbit, killing it swiftly with a clean bite to the neck. The sound of the spine cracking rang out and reached me.

Rabbitflight lifted his head, rabbit in his jaws. It was thin and a measly piece of prey, but it was prey nothing less.

"Good job," I mewed. Rabbitflight just grunted.

"It's a meager piece of prey," He growled and buried the rabbit. "Come on; let's get going." And with that he ran off. I sighed and raced after him, jaws parted again.

I could see Rabbitflight's light brown pelt darting from clump of heather to clump of heather. He disappeared when he dived through some tall grass on the top of a hill. I climbed it quickly.

The tall grass seemed to swallow me as I turned towards a lone tree in the distance, on the same stretch of moorland as I was, the territory committed to memory. I sprinted, reaching my front paws forward and pushing off with my back legs. I grunted with effort; it has been moons since I've done this.

The grasses stretched above my head. I struggled for breath. I finally stopped and tasted the air, looking for Rabbitflight's scent. Yes. There, very faint and hidden because of the tall grasses, was Rabbitflight's scent. It was leading the opposite direction of the tree. I turned around and followed the scent.

I raced downhill, and across a short stretch of land before having to climb again. The grasses finally started thinning out, and I eventually left the tall grasses. I sighed in relief. I saw Rabbitflight's light brown pelt in the distance, climbing over a hill.

"Rabbitflight!" I yowled. I raced down the slope and over a stretch of grass and darted around heather clumps. "Rabbitflight!"

I leaped onto a boulder and off it again, going faster to get over a moor hill. I darted around a short length of tall grass and saw a tree down the slope. Rabbitflight had stopped.

I pushed harder, going downhill. I suddenly tripped and tumbled down the moor slope, coming to a stop by the tree. I pushed myself up.

Rabbitflight glared at me. "There you are!" He snapped. "What took you so long?" I leaned back, surprised at his tone.

"You're the one who left me in the tall grasses!" I snapped back. Rabbitflight glared at me.

"Come on," He hissed. "We have to hunt." I followed him.

We came back into camp; all we found was three skinny rabbits. As we placed them on the fresh-kill, we heard the pounding footsteps of a patrol coming towards camp. Ravenstar was on her paws immediately when Cedarfall and her patrol burst into camp. They all had ruffled fur and were bleeding, like they got into a fight.

"What happened?" Ravenstar demanded.

Cedarfall took a deep breath of air and announced: "There's a fox on our territory!"
