The Doctor laid on his stomach on Jack's bed, with his arms wrapped around the pillow he was resting his head on. He had the blanket pulled up to his waist and was wearing nothing besides them. Jack lay next to him, wearing only blankets as well. He was laying on his side though, propped up on one arm as he rubbed his hand soothingly up and down the Doctor's back. Somewhere in the TARDIS the Doctor knew that Rose was on her own, and that was never a good thing. At the moment though he didn't care. He was more relaxed then he had been in awhile. He felt loved and wanted. With Jack he knew that though his hearts might break, they would never stay broken. Jack would never leave him in life or in death.

"Jack," He mumbled in to his pillow.

"Hmm," Jack questioned as he sat up more and kissed the base of the Doctor's spine. The Doctor shuddered slightly at his touch. He moaned and stretched in to the pillows.

"I was thinking after we get rid of Rose, we could do something fun. There is a zero gravity triathlon that I always wanted to participate in." He commented sleepily.

"More running," Jack whispered as he kissed up the Doctor's spine, making his shiver with each peck.

"Yeah, I love running," The Doctor turned and caught Jack's lips as he reached his neck.

"You're insane," Jack mumbled. "But I know a better way to make you out of breath."

"Yeah," The Doctor raised an eyebrow at him and then chuckled as Jack threw the blanket over them.

He awoke the next morning feeling refreshed. Jack was still sound asleep beside him and he watched time bend and shift around Jack. It should have made him uncomfortable being a Time Lord, but instead he was fascinated by it. He stood and stretched, muscles ached but he felt better then he had in years. He showered and dressed before heading out to the console. As he neared the control room though he heard loud music blasting and a horrible screeching noise accompanying the music. He entered the control room to find Rose laying on her back on the grating. Her feet were up on the captain's chair and she was reading a magazine as she sang along with the music.

"What ever you are doing to that poor cat, Doc, just put it out of its misery," Jack called out as he entered a moment later. The Doctor laughed and gestured at Rose. Jack walked up behind him and whispered in his ear. "Still could. I didn't see anything."

"Tempting," He whispered back and then in a louder voice. "Hold on listen to this." The music they were listening to cut out abruptly and Rose didn't seem to notice as the screeching continued. The Doctor eyed her as he placed a new CD into the drive and a rock tune started. He danced to it as he took control of the TARDIS to send her to her destination.

"Ian Dury and the Blockheads. Number One in 1979," he told Jack happily. He pretended not to notice as Jack walked over, took the magazine from Rose, rolled it up and then proceeded to hit her on the nose with it. She stopped singing and scrunched her nose up.

"I wouldn't have taken you for a punk," Jack laughed now that he could actually think.

"Where are we going?" Rose asked as made her way around the console for the Doctor. He avoided her advances though, making his way the opposite direction of her and hiding behind Jack.

"You are going to visit your mum Rose," He informed her, he looked her up and down. "You might want to get dressed."

"I am dressed," she pouted. She was wearing a t-shirt with a short pair of overall shorts that fell only about an inch. On her feet were ankle socks and a pair of trainers.

"Right..." He drew out the word looking confused. He looked at Jack who shrugged. He turned his attention back to Jack. "After we drop her off do you want to see him?"

"How'd you mean? In concert?" Rose asked excitedly completely missing the drop her off part. She twirled her hair happily.

"What else is a Tardis for?" He asked Rose before turning to look at Jack again. "I can take you to the Battle of Trafalgar, the first anti-gravity Olympics, Caesar crossing the Rubicon or Ian Dury at the Top Rank, Sheffield, England, Earth, 21st November, 1979. What do you think?"

"Sheffield," Jack agreed.

"Hold on tight," He told them as he hit the console with a mallet a few times to the tune of the song playing. The TARDIS landed with a thud. Jack and the Doctor tightened their grips and swayed with her as Rose was thrown to the floor. "Right, Rose, up you get. Your mum is waiting."

Rose reached for a hand up and they exchanged looks. Jack nodded his head sideways towards the Doctor to help her and he shook his head no violently. Jack placed his hands on his hips and narrowed his eyes. The Doctor's eyes went sad and he looked pleadingly at Jack. Jack laughed. Rose meanwhile made it to her feet and was heading down the ramp when the Doctor looked at the screen.

"Rose stop," he called out as she reached the door, opened it and stepped off the TARDIS. He contemplated for half a moment about leaving her, but he wanted to explore first. He took off after her grabbing his coat as he went.

"1979. Hell of a year. China invades Vietnam. The Muppet Movie. Love that film. Margaret Thatcher. Urgh. Skylab falls to Earth, with a little help from me. Nearly took off my thumb." He babbled to Jack as Jack grabbed his own coat. He opened the door and stepped out onto a green grassed hill. "And I like my thumb. I need my thumb. I'm very attached to my thumb."

"Doctor," Jack asked as they suddenly had several rifles pointed at them. All of the men were in uniform wearing red coats with black hats. The two of them raised their hands in the air as Rose waved happily at them on horses pointing guns at them.

"Though this is 1879. Same difference." The Doctor finished and Jack rolled his eyes. The men looked down at them and one of the soldiers spoke.

"You will explain your presence. And the nakedness of this girl." The soldier informed them.

"Are we in Scotland," The Doctor asked happily in a Scottish accent. He shook his head softly as Jack reached down and adjusted himself.

"Doctor why are you spe..." Rose began to ask but was cut off as Jack hissed at her to shush. The soldier eyed her before speaking again.

"How can you be ignorant of that?" He asked them.

"Oh, I'm, I'm dazed and confused. I've been chasing this, this wee naked child over hill and over dale." The Doctor replied, still using the Scottish accent.

"Och, aye! I've been oot and aboot." Rose tried and failed miserably to copy their accents.

"No, don't do that," the Doctor whispered to her.

"Aye and we'll sell her to you for a pence and a bottle of whiskey," Jack informed them, his Scottish accent just as thick as the Doctors. The Doctor looked at him impressed.

"Naw for this wee lass, we'll just take the pence. We can find our own whiskey," the Doctor joked and Jack laughed.

"Hoots mon." Rose looked at him questionly.

"No, really don't. Really." the Doctor warned her as she continued.

Will you identify yourself, sir?" The Soldier asked, growing impatient with them.

"I'm Doctor James McCrimmon, from the township of Balamory. I have my credentials, if I may." He reached for his pocket and the soldier nodded his consent. He pulled out his psychic paper and flipped it open for the man to see. "As you can see, a Doctorate from the University of Edinburgh. I trained under Doctor Bell himself."

"Let them approach." A new voice came and the Doctor looked around the soldiers to see a carriage sitting near by with more soldiers surrounding it.

"I don't think that's wise, ma'am." The soldier called back.

"Let them approach." The voice said more firmly.

"You will approach the carriage, and show all due deference." The soldier informed them and the men lowered their guns. The Doctor saluted them and then started to make his way over to the carriage with Jack and Rose.

"Behave," Jack hissed at her as she skipped along beside them. The Doctor just kept facing forward and walking. He had the feeling he knew who was in the carriage and he didn't do well with Royals.
